The ticket will cost 26 euros if you buy it online. The same ticket for 1 day costs 16 euros, for 2 days - 21 euros.

Another type of travel card is I Amsterdam City Card. It allows unlimited use of public transport for 24 (57 euros), 48 (67 euros), 72 (77 euros) or 96 hours (87 euros), and also opens access to 44 museums (admission will be either free or at a big discount ) Another opportunity is a free cruise through the canals and about 25% discount in some cafes and restaurants.

Bicycles for rent

Almost national mode of transport in Amsterdam is bicycles. There are numerous private rental companies in the city, as well as municipal GVB outlets. The cost of 1 hour rental of GVB bicycles is 4.60 euros.

The MacBike company is very popular - a day rent will cost 10 euros (plus 3 euros of insurance per day). If the bike is taken for more than 24 hours, then the next day you need to pay 16 euros.

After several days spent in Lithuania, I decided to rush to Holland, or rather to. I have long wanted to fulfill my dream and go boating on the canals of this city. And I did it!).
I had an unforgettable experience of traveling to Amsterdam. Incredibly bright city, so many contrasts - a combination of unique and ordinary, beautiful ... Well, just do not convey in words all this beauty)).

From Vilnius to Amsterdam by plane

I will not hide, the distance between the cities is really great - about 1700 km. Therefore, the first option that I began to consider was air travel. The duration of such a trip is just over three hours.
Flights from Vilnius to the capital of the Netherlands are operated by AirBaltic.

Unfortunately, there is only one direct plane available that leaves from around seven in the morning. More flight schedule can be found on the web portal of this company, I will indicate it below.
You can also get with transfers. The same airline offers us several flights with transfers in Riga. It will be several hours longer in time, but you can consider it as an option.

Flight cost

A direct flight ticket will cost from 99 euros, and for flights with transfers you can even buy for 65 euros.

Purchase

It’s best to buy tickets online: you can use the official AirBaltic website or the like.

From Vilnius to Amsterdam by bus

As an alternative to air transport - ground. I want to tell you about the available buses.
Every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, flights from Vilnius to Amsterdam are operated by Ecolines. You need to go with a change in Warsaw.
The bus leaves from the central bus station of the Lithuanian capital at 15:15.

The traffic schedule is best clarified before the trip, you can view it on the carrier's portal, which I will indicate below.
This is what the buses of this company look like.

But there is one big minus - you will have to go for more than a day, or rather, twenty-nine and a half hours ((. In my opinion, the option is definitely for extreme people)).

Fare

A bus ticket will cost 107 euros.

Purchase

It’s better to buy on the carrier’s website. You can of course first contact the box office of the local bus station.

From Vilnius to Amsterdam by car

Another option is to travel by car. Without stops on such vehicles can be reached in seventeen hours. You can rent a car in advance, saving both time and money.

The trip will pass through the territory of Lithuania, Poland, Germany and, accordingly, the Netherlands. Highways in all countries for a solid five)).

Now regarding the fare:

  • In Lithuania, only truck drivers and buses with more than eight seats are paying for roads.
  • In Poland, you will have to pay toll on the A2 motorway. This "pleasure" will cost about 16 euros.
  • In Germany, only fares through ecological zones are charged (sticker price from 6 euros). But I do not recommend crossing such territories, because in essence eco-zones are centers of cities where traffic is very active, traffic jams.
  • In Holland, tracks are free.

Other options

I rejected railway transport as an option of traveling from Vilnius to Amsterdam for one reason at once - there is no direct connection between cities, but the number of transfers can be simply confusing)). Such transport must travel through Warsaw ... That is, it is easier and cheaper to use the options that I noted above.

Total

I often travel to Europe, so I made it a rule to plan a route in advance and buy tickets for transport for several weeks, or even months before the trip. So it was in this case. When I saw an available direct flight on the AirBaltic website, I quickly issued an electronic ticket.
If we talk about the trip itself, then I liked it - quickly, conveniently)). Only a little expensive, but a bus ticket costs even more for a few euros, and I do not have a driver's license to use the car. So I chose this method.
