The romance of abandoned estates in the Leningrad region. Abandoned Buildings of Russia: Tour of Architectural Ruins Tour of Abandoned Manors

I was really looking forward to this excursion! Six months before the trip, I already knew that we would definitely visit it! We were together with my husband. We spent 8 hours very comfortably. George is a well-read man, not a single question put him in a dead end, he quoted poets, told, apart from facts, also legends, speculations. Interesting, informative, calm and very beautiful !!! very much! We walked everywhere, bypassed not only the estates themselves, but also the adjacent parks. George was everywhere with us, drove secret paths, commented ... and at the same time was inconspicuous and unobtrusive, we had our own time for contemplation and photography. A wonderful excursion, I advise everyone!

Recently, we took a tour of the abandoned estates. And I can say that we definitely did not regret it! We would never see it ourselves and would not know what beauties we have or were very close to home. We, as modern people, so often strive to other countries and to other continents, but how often we do not know and do not appreciate our history, our native places. We are very grateful to George for our enlightenment. I really liked that he not only completed the program, but also went beyond its borders, showed and talked about the sights that were along the way and not so much. It can be seen that George is rooting for the disappearing heroes of his excursion, doing his work with soul. I really hope that there will be more such informal excursions over time, which will allow us and our children to get to know our wonderful city much deeper and it will also not be boring)

We went on this excursion, relying on the description and reviews, very much hoped for an exciting journey, but, as they say, apparently not destiny. The tour, at our request, was reduced to a visit to two sites. 4 hours of excursion for 20 minutes to the object and three hours and twenty minutes on the road. George, it is clear that a person who is knowledgeable and interested cannot talk and drive in parallel, several times we almost got into an accident. Therefore, as we walked, we did not ask him about anything. Absolutely short description in place. My foreign guests called it the worst time in St. Petersburg, and I really wanted to show them something unusual. The idea is interesting, but the organization is "in Russian". If you hire a driver so that you can talk in the direction of travel, and a more comfortable car, the impressions will probably be more positive.

Hello! Can I write a response to user Artem for this review?
Dear Artem! I'm sorry you didn't like the tour. However, several points need to be canceled: you did not warn me that you have only 4 hours for the excursion instead of the planned 8. You asked me to pick you up from the hotel on Nevsky and I went to meet you, which increased the road to leave the city for an hour. This tour always ends at the Moskovskaya metro station. However, your friends had to go much further and we spent another hour in traffic jams just to take them from Moskovskaya to the desired address. Thus, 2 hours or even more out of 4 that you yourself took from the very beginning on the excursion went to the delivery of your guests and it was not at all my fault.
I don’t know what you mean by an accident, but we didn’t get into it, and in 10 years of driving I have not had any accidents, thank God. Finally, you paid me significantly less than the amount indicated for the excursion and I, as you put it, in a purely Russian way, agreed with this, although the time of the excursion was reduced not through my fault, and in the end I spent no less than usual. I also disagree with the fact that I talked a little about objects, I talked constantly, just your guests and you walked in different directions and did not listen to me at the same time.
I think that when traveling out of town, you need to better plan your time. I wish you a pleasant experience and travel!

Super tour from start to finish. The places were wonderful, and were brought to life by Georgi, who was very prepared, and knew detail upon detail. He also speaks English, which was a bonus we hadn "t expected.

A wonderful excursion from start to finish. The places through which Georgy led us just came to life. George told a lot of interesting facts, accompanied the story with unique old photographs, answered any questions. He spoke English, which was a bonus we didn't expect. Thank you very much!

I liked the excursion very much. The travel plan is well drawn up, the historical material is perfectly presented, this is the story itself about the estates and their inhabitants, and additional photographs, and an excellent foundation for the future. I would like to repeatedly visit these places, for example, in the summer, take a walk in the parks, feel the grandeur of the former pearls of architecture, feel the spirit of the era. Of course, at the sight of the modern state of the buildings, a quiet sadness takes over. It is a pity, to be sure, when what is really worthwhile and beautiful is destroyed. Thanks a lot to George, for the organization, for the presentation of history, and for the discovery of such a direction in general.

i highly recommend this tour! Thank you very much to the guide Georgy for the interesting narratives, the attentive attitude towards everyone. The day just flew by))) it is a pity that no one is restoring the estates, that they are really abandoned and in a few years they will not be at all (((I would also like to note and say thank you for lunch in Kirche with Father Pavel, everything was very be sure to visit this excursion - you will not regret it.

Thanks a lot for the tour! Ordered as a gift for a lover of abandoned places. The gift was a success, the lover is delighted! :) Atmospheric places you want to return to. An interesting program. Now we are waiting for "Travel to the world of abandoned estates-2"! :)

No restroom stops. What you warn doesn't matter when "you go to the toilet". There is very little description of organizational issues. The guide knows the history well enough. But when you slide a finger on your tablet with unremoved seams, your guide hangs on his pants, and he looks as if he drank until morning, this slightly overwrites the overall impression of the tour. A lot of smacking, almost at the end of every sentence.
In general: the impressions of the objects of visit are good, it's a pity that everything is being destroyed so quickly, and no one is involved in restoration. Save the route. The guide can be changed. Thanks.

Dear Anastasia, thanks for the four stars! I will certainly take into account your criticism and will focus on going to the restroom before leaving. Our route is structured in such a way that in the middle of the trip, the whole group has lunch and visits to the toilet in Kirche. There are two latrines "M" and "Zh". If there are additional requests, I usually stop at a gas station. I will, as I said, accentuate this moment on the bus so that everyone knows that we have a toilet!)

As for the rest, I will give an example. Unfortunately, I do not remember you personally, but I remember that during the last excursion, one girl was very unhappy with the fact that she paid 200 rubles for a three-course lunch, but she did not like the naval pasta and wanted another dish. There was no dining room in Kirch and there were no other dishes. But especially for her, the priest's wife cooked buckwheat porridge with meat and the whole group waited for the client to finish eating.

I gave this example just to say that we are really trying to make you enjoy everything. I personally developed this, without exaggeration, a unique route, collected information about the collapsing buildings and will try to make the excursion as best as possible, taking into account your criticism.

Excellent excursion! Time flew by quickly. Thanks to Georgy!

Thank you so much for the "Abandoned Estate" tour. I liked everything very much: excellent organization, comfortable bus, interesting and erudite guide, majestic estates, gorgeous nature, weather and delicious lunch at the Church of St. John the Baptist .... All this gave me a good mood, a wonderful day off and beautiful photos. I recommend to everyone!

I visited an exciting excursion "Abandoned estates" and was not just satisfied, but under a great impression! Wonderful guide Georgiy, great organization, amazing event and even the weather, pleasantly surprised me! The time on the way flew by quickly, we still remember my little adventure)) Free time for photography, also turned out to be a very good bonus, photos from the excursion turned out to be very picturesque. Thank you so much!

I liked everything very much, thank you very much

On a tour of the abandoned estates of the Leningrad Region, you will find breathtaking stories from the lives of their unusual owners, the spirit of former luxury, stunning views for photography, as well as the opportunity to see and capture something that will soon disappear!

Program

  • You will visit the ruins of the "Fifth Mountain" estate, which belonged to the warlock and freemason Jacob Bruce, who became famous for the fact that, according to legend, he could freeze the lake in summer and turn any metal into gold.
  • You will learn about the mysterious experiments with weapons that Bruce conducted, as well as the details of the life of one of the most cruel landowners in the history of Russia Olga Konstantinovna Briskorn, who later owned this estate.
  • Then you will see what remains of the house of one of the most famous and noble families of Russia - the Wrangel barons. The story will be based on the memoirs of Baron Nikolai Nikolaevich Wrangel.
  • In the middle of the way, there is a stop for a visit to the restroom and lunch at the Kirkha's premises in Gubanitsy. The hospitable priest will tell you about the fate of the building and the parish.

  • At the end of the trip, we will visit the perfectly preserved, but empty estate of the Demidovs in Taitsy. You will learn the history of this estate, which was visited by such famous Russian cultural figures as Turgenev and Rimsky-Korsakov. « Abandoned Moscow"Is an adventure for those who do not have enough extreme and impressions in the bustle of the city. A trip to the abandoned objects of Moscow, to the so-called "dark side of the city", will allow you to gain new impressions and adrenaline.

The old estate "Otrada", the hospital KZB, an abandoned school, the AMO ZIL plant ... An ideal topic for a Hollywood thriller or an opportunity to spend a day off? Make up your mind, and soon you will be able to tell your friends about your trip to the abandoned Khovrinsky hospital, which is also called “ bermuda triangle of Moscow". Or look at military equipment on aircraft cemetery on Khodynka... Behind the gloss of the capital's streets are dozens of "black holes". Houses from which life has gone forever, and some of them for various reasons were never completed. This excursion is not without a share of extreme. Going to an abandoned building, you seem to be entering the past. At some point, time stood still here.

The list of abandoned places in Moscow will be continued by the forgotten school in the north of the city, where Zoya and Alexander Kosmodemyanskiy once studied. It has been empty for over 10 years, and within its walls are still kept textbooks, notebooks, school equipment and a museum archive.

It is almost impossible to get to some of these places on your own, you need to know the secret passages and loopholes. For example, it is quite easy to get into an abandoned factory or a military airfield. And to the famous "Umbrella" (KZB hospital) - only accompanied by an expert who is well versed in its gloomy corridors.

“Abandoned Moscow” is an opportunity to look into a place where the entrance is usually strictly forbidden to outsiders. Open these secret doors with us!
