The hotel does not match the advertisements declared.Long chose a hotel, because were planning to spend the whole of September at sea with a one-year-old child. In 2012, we visited the neighboring hotel Esperides. The coast and the sea fell in love, like the island itself! Be sure to take a car and visit local attractions - such travels leave only positive emotions! In the city of Rodos I especially advise you to sail on a boat - beautiful and symbolic!
We were looking for a hotel with a bungalow, so that there was green grass on which the baby would run, and so that there wouldn’t be a crowd with a stroller. The coast didn’t raise any questions. We just had to take care of food for the child - we don’t eat jars. Yes and why, if the hotel is ready to respond on any request "special food for your child" !? This proposal was decisive in the selection.
Grekotel is positioned as the maximum comfort for young children. You will be provided with a cot and a pot upon request, there is a shop with baby supplies and food nearby, a games room, and a children's table.
The first two weeks of vacation were with my mother and baby, my husband arrived for the next two weeks, my mother left. So I studied the entire hotel and the work of the staff.
Many times rested in Europe, and in Indonesia, and in other countries. Amazed by the reception at the reception. We arrived at 9 in the evening, with suitcases and with a whimpering baby on his chest, waiting for us to pay attention. There were 3 hotel employees at the counter, one of whom was apparently working on documents, the other two told a tourist from Europe about work and spa services. After waiting out of politeness for about five minutes, for which they simply didn’t notice us, I put my passports in the open form on the counter in front of the hotel staff, but again I had to wait and wait for our former compatriot, Russian-speaking Tatyana Petrova, who took up our registration .
They offered to have dinner. The restaurant was waiting for another unpleasant moment. Nowhere else, in any country in the world such wild rules as in this restaurant were found! We looked around and began to sit down at a round table, next to a similar round table, at which a woman with a child was sitting in a high chair. I already dragged the same as the waiter ran up to the table and in English began to explain that it was impossible to sit here. I point at the woman at the next table and, perplexed, I ask why. Apparently, the senior waitress is approaching here, and says that it is impossible here, but it is possible on the terrace. I, having gone in the indicated direction, come back and say that it is already dark, there is not enough space, because almost all the tables are occupied, it is very noisy and a strong wind blows, and we, with a small child who is naughty and sweating, want to sit here to have a bite out of the way. What I hear is a refusal and an offer to sit on the terrace. I'm just leaving the restaurant.
At the reception I ask for the key to the bungalow. They say that Tatyana Petrova needs to wait again, and she should guide us. I couldn’t wait anymore - I just wanted to put the kid in the room and put him to bed — they immediately ran after the reception to help me find bungalow.
The next day, the question arose about nutrition. I’ll say right away for those who are with kids that they only have oatmeal for breakfast. And we needed a blender that is “on juices” in the morning (for lunch and dinner, as it turned out later, the blender really stands in its place, on the children's table). Of course, for lunch there will be soup puree without salt for children and fruit puree, which is very pleased, but for dinner only macaroni or rice, do not make mashed potatoes, a blender is nearby, which is convenient. But for the kids on the common table were rarely edible. It is not often at dinner that you can see boiled vegetables or fish, from which You can make yourself pyureshku.
When talking about “special food for the child” with Tatyana Petrova, I stumbled upon indifference and unwillingness to resolve my issue with food for the baby. She simply said that my request may be refused, because I did not make a request in advance on the Internet. But (!) Even in the information folder in the room in several languages \u200b\u200bthere is information - almost verbatim, that if you need special food for your child , contact the restaurant manager. Such a manager turned out to be Tatyana Petrova, guest manager, mainly for Russian guests. The tour operator promised that if we don’t have enough of the children's food that the hotel offers, we just need to ask! ..
I had to call the SK and complain about the staff. The SK sent a letter of pretension to the management of Grekotel. The result was not long in coming; the attitude towards us, as guests, from Tatyana Petrova, changed dramatically. Somehow we agreed on a piece of boiled beef for lunch and a bowl of oatmeal for dinner. The lack of favor left its unpleasant mark.
Another, in my opinion, a decent minus is the seating rules of the guests. It became clear that two adults and a child cannot sit at a round, four-seater table, even if the room is half-empty, and even when empty, it is also impossible. restaurant, even at a double table, even if you are already eating with a child in a high chair and with a stroller. You will be asked to change seats. And in the back of this restaurant there is a children's table with a blender. So imagine how inconvenient it was to seat the child in the allowed part of the restaurant, and run for food oh to another place where there are tables and you can not sit down! There was no positive reaction to requests for permission to sit where we are comfortable, because we arrived for a month. I had to sit in a corner, far from the blender, and run back and forth with cups. Those who have little children know that the kids are distracted when around strangers are very close, and the tables in the Grekotel restaurant are very close in places. I also didn’t want to disturb others, because the neighborhood with a small child does not seem happy to everyone. My request to feed the child a little further from strangers and closer to the blender was not heard by Grekotel staff in which friendliness and a desire to help their guests are in the first place, which is also very captivating ..
A month later, I learned the rules of planting - do not sit wherever you want, and where you are comfortable, even if you are with a one-year-old baby, stroller, high chair, and a plate of food .. This was due to the peculiarities of the restaurant - they have the task of feeding a huge number of customers. in the middle of dinner, to cover more than half of the hall for dinner, where you are not allowed to enter for anything. Having observed who and for what reasons they drive like cattle (I was once chased three times with a child for lunch!), I came to the conclusion that for the most part this applies to Russian guests .. Apparently sanctions spread ranilis)) Sorry for the detailed story, but the dining room and its rules overshadowed the long-awaited vacation !!!
As for the settlement, it’s lucky here! Since this hotel operates according to the club’s system, that is, for a discount of 20 euros, if you arrive on the Grekotel card, you should settle more decently and bring gifts. More for Europeans, of course, because more often they get successful rooms and bungalows. We also were forced to issue such a card at the end of the vacation - they refused. All this may not be justified, as our compatriots already wrote in the reviews ..
The bungalows are arranged in 3 rows. If you stand with your back to the sea, then the first row of two-story bungalows is very close to the fence, kitchen and dance floor of a neighboring hotel. The middle row is the quietest, and the last is a walk-through yard, next to the pool with games. We were "lucky", we were settled in a middle-row bungalow, closer to the sea. In fact, this is one of the most successful bungalows. But here was our luck, the bungalow where we lived was the only one with a whole big bed that we asked in advance upon request. And it turned out during a grand "dismantling" at the reception, where the Greek manager waved her hands with fervor of the south and did not give a word to justify, why didn’t we live peacefully in our happy bungalow! .. And we just asked for relocation , due to the endlessly smoking German campaign in 2 meters from our terrace, on which the child played all day. They expected that these Germans would leave. They waited a long time. Almost 2 weeks.
Trees grow on the territory with a good crown. In places, the lawn is burned out, and sunbathers on the grass spread out under the trees. So you can only dream of solitude!
And the main building is a separate issue altogether. Some reviews have a road that is directly in front of the balconies. That is the case. The building is located in such a way that the rooms are directly above the road leading to the hotel. Buses carrying tourists take it. I must admit that I would not like such a room when there is a choice of alternative hotels! Newer and more successful, modern! And if you plan to check in in a common building with a view of the garden, then it is better to look at other hotels.
If we talk about cleaning, they cleaned every day - no complaints - periodically left “for tea.” Towels for the beach are issued regularly at certain hours.
When we were driving, we knew that we were going to the old fund. Although he was declared as fashionable! (more like a social boarding house for the Germans) But, apparently, this statement remains only an advertisement! The hotel is really old. Simple moments are most striking - the paths on the beach and the territory (you won’t feel the pleasure of walking with a stroller ..) Everything would be fine, but only the attitude towards the guests leaves much to be desired ..
