The best restaurants in Patong Phuket. Patong restaurants. Restaurants with sea view

Chef Pablo Blattmann was born and raised in La Paz, Bolivia, his father's homeland. His mother, a Swiss citizen, taught him the basics of haute European cuisine from an early age, and his father’s passionate nature brought the necessary spice and originality to his current culinary masterpieces. Pablo is wholeheartedly in love with Asian cuisine, his favorites are Japanese and Thai, the fusion of various gastronomic traditions is his professional strong point. By the way, Pablo is one of the few chefs in Phuket who graduated with honors from the famous Paul Bocuse Institute in Lyon. The chef very often greets guests himself in his restaurant, which is almost 10 years old, and personally serves his signature dishes on your table.

Tu Kab Khao

Tu Kab Khao Restaurant is located in the heart of old Phuket Town, where wedding couples love to take photos. Its building was built in the Sino-Portuguese architectural style characteristic of the island. For generations, Thais have been visiting this place to dine with the whole family from the pantry, which is how the name of the restaurant is translated from Thai. Iconic dishes: Mu Hong – slow-cooked braised pork belly. It simmers in herbs and spices for more than 6 hours before being served to guests. We also recommend trying deep-fried local fish in a curry-like turmeric paste. Foreign guests are delighted with the palette of truly Thai flavors of these two dishes.

Siam Supper Club

Signature cocktails and cuisine that has become truly legendary on the island, in the atmosphere of an expensive European bar accompanied by lounge music. Sometimes there are live jazz evenings. You want to come back here again and again, meet friends, spend an evening with your loved one, chat with a stranger from the other side of the world. You will be united by your love for the best in this life. This is the only way at Siam Supper Club. The restaurant's cuisine can be described as “West Coast Dishes of Phuket”. Grilled fish and meat of the highest quality. The bartender will always mix you a tropical cocktail according to a secret recipe known only to him. Try the establishment's signature cheesecake for dessert. He certainly has no equal for hundreds and thousands of kilometers around.

Benny's American Bar & Grill

There are restaurants where mass tourists never set foot, but where expats – foreigners who have settled on the island for a long time and for a long time – come with pleasure every evening. If the quality of simple Thai cuisine can be judged by the cafes filled with locals, then the same can be said about the restaurant beloved among Europeans, only in excellent epithets related to the high gastronomic tradition of the Old World. Benny, the owner of the establishment and its chef, worked for a long time at the Twin Palms Hotel, from where he took his original recipes and atmosphere. Mixology nights always require reservations. And the signature beef tartare served with tomahawk steak afterwards is something we definitely recommend trying.

Bampot

The owner of the restaurant and his chef Jamie Wakeford has gone through a long journey of learning from the grandees of the restaurant business. He managed to work with Gordon Ramsay in his Mazea and even with Heston Blumenthal himself in Fat Duck. The opening of the Bampot restaurant in Phuket in 2014 caused a flurry of emotions among connoisseurs of haute cuisine. Some were strongly in favor, others were strongly against. But there were no indifferent people. Jamie boldly and expertly blends the flavors of Asian and Western cuisines. He might serve you chilli-flavored crab cake or coconut ice cream with a bright note of lemongrass. How about sea bass stuffed with chunks of Spanish spicy chorizo? No one allows themselves to treat the white truffle as familiarly as he does. We won’t give away all the secrets; it’s worth visiting this place to personally see the chef who left for Phuket to build his own culinary Olympus here.

La Gritta

Chef Patricia Battolu began her culinary career in Italy and her resume includes the world-famous Forays. She moved to Asia in search of new experiences and culinary experiments. She succeeds in the latter very well. Although within the strict framework of Italian cuisine, which dominates the restaurant, this is not easy. La Gritta's location is one of the best in Patong. From here you can enjoy views of the entire bay; it is especially pleasant to spend an evening here with your loved one. Hearty dishes, fine Italian wine, twinkling lights of the resort shore, quiet jazz in the background - complete saturation with romance is guaranteed.

Black Ginger

For more than twenty years, chef Anongrat Meklai, or simply Kun Piak, has ruled the kitchen of this restaurant. This is a Thai restaurant located in the middle of The Slate Hotel's lagoon, where you are ferried by a real ferryman. The interiors were designed by John Underwood, everything is permeated with black, but this does not frighten or repel, but gives a feeling of special luxury and infinity of space. The chef suggests trying classic Thai dishes: Som Tam salad, Tom Yam soup and green curry, but how are they prepared, what secret ingredients does she use? Taste buds explode not from spiciness, but from the cosmic combination of all five tastes. The restaurant also offers dishes not known to the general public, from the southern provinces of Thailand: fish curry, crispy fried shrimp with spicy sauce, spring rolls with crab. We recommend starting your acquaintance with Thai cuisine here, 100%.

Mom Tri's

Back in 2004, this restaurant was awarded the first Wine Spectator professional sommelier award, and since then this restaurant has been recognized eight more times as the owner of the best wine collection on the island. No wonder. More than 750 types of old and new world wines are carefully selected annually for Mom Tri’s wine library. The owner of the restaurant, a Thai nobleman and relative of the royal family, promotes a new, revolutionary style of dining for Phuket: individual dining in a restaurant. No one but you. Sea view, light breeze, personal waiter and sommelier. Luxury in the correct sense of the word. The restaurant's menu is a mixture of Mediterranean and Thai dishes. Two great chefs worked on its creation: the European Darren Wiper and the Thai Sura Putha. Both are gastronomy geniuses. The owner of the establishment highly recommends trying the hot crab soufflé. Well, let's start with it?

Surf & Turf

This restaurant, under the leadership of chef Tom Keffer, has been impressing local gourmets and discerning tourists with its creative cuisine for several years now. It is located in the very center of Phuket Town, near the clock tower. A small room can only accommodate many visitors. This gives a slight intimacy to what is happening. The very name of the establishment hides its main idea: to lure here lovers of both seafood and fish, as well as meat dishes. On the menu you can find both homemade sausages according to the chef’s family recipe, and classic surf & turf dishes, where, for example, shrimp and beef are ideally combined. This restaurant can safely be called cozy, almost homely, where you want to return again for familiar, consistently high quality dishes.

Boathouse Wine & Grill

Located right on Kata Beach, this restaurant offers a choice of authentic Thai and haute French cuisine. The atmosphere itself is conducive to a leisurely, almost ceremonial dinner. According to reviews from regular guests of the establishment, you should definitely try fish and seafood dishes. The chef of the establishment knows the special secret of their preparation. The Boathouse wine cellar has been appreciated more than once by experts from such respected publications as Wine Spectator and Tatler Best Restaurant Guide. Guests are offered more than 800 varieties of wine, and the cellar stores 6,500 bottles of old and new world wines, including organic ones. What’s nice is that 32 types of wine can be ordered by the glass.

Silk

The restaurant at the Andara Hotel is widely known outside of Phuket, because famous politicians and show business stars, who invariably choose this hotel in Kamala, were treated to haute Thai cuisine. Seventy percent of the dishes on the menu are Thai gastronomic classics, the remaining thirty are European hits. Thai cuisine is led by Chef Proy, who has 21 chefs working in the kitchen. The European menu is headed by the Swiss Tito Rominger, who is 100% French in his culinary incarnation. Perennial menu favorites include duck pancakes, Penang tofu curry and grilled mushroom salad. The best time to visit the restaurant is around 17:30, then you can fully enjoy not only the food but also the stunning sunset views.

Raya

When you are faced with the choice of where to go if you want Thai cuisine, then Raya Restaurant is certainly one of the first places that any local will recommend to you. Here they have preserved not only the unique atmosphere of old Phuket, which is visible in every detail of the interior, but also the cuisine, which has absorbed many cultures: Chinese, Malay and, of course, Thai. Come here and not try Muu Hong's signature dish - stewed pork with pepper and garlic. The secret of this dish is that before stewing it is cooked over low heat for several hours, so that the meat simply melts in your mouth. It is indicative that Thais who come to Phuket from other cities consider it obligatory to visit Raya.

Baan Rim Pa, Da Maurizio, Joe's Downstairs

It was not by chance that we combined these three places. All of them are located in one place, one above the other, going down almost to the sea along the slope of a coastal cliff in the Kalim area. The history of Baan Rim Pa, a restaurant with royal Thai cuisine, began back in 1991, when a small restaurant opened in the house of American Tom McNamara. Then getting to it, to the very north of Patong Beach, seemed like a big problem. But Tom's love for Thai cuisine and the quality of the dishes he served quickly made him mega-popular among tourists and island residents. Throughout all these years, the restaurant continued to maintain its achieved level. The constant chef Kun Das has been preparing dishes worthy of a table in a royal palace for 26 years. The restaurant carefully preserves the legacy of Tom McNamara, being very careful about innovations. The opposite of it in terms of innovation is the Italian restaurant Da Maurizio. The menu is updated regularly, Italian dishes are prepared according to all the rules, so that Italians speak of them in the most enthusiastic epithets. Joe's Downstairs Bar, located at the very edge of the sea, often hosts wedding ceremonies, its interior, done in geometrically clear black and white colors, contrasts with the calm, respectable decor of the other two. It makes sense to come here at sunset to drink a couple of cocktails. Joe's Downstairs mixologists are considered the best in Phuket. The countless awards and accolades received by the Baan Rim Pa Restaurant Group over the years prove that choosing these restaurants is a win-win.

Plum at Cape Sienna

The grandmother of Plum restaurant chef Francesco Greco was a cook in the Rothschild family in the 30s of the 20th century; his mother, also a chef, once brought a very young boy into the kitchen, where he remained for the rest of his life. Three sommelier diplomas on his resume help him accurately recommend wines to guests for a particular dish. The restaurant menu is a poem composed by a true Italian at heart and a fan of steaks in their most perfect execution. When preparing meat, nothing unnecessary is used: salt and pepper, the correct roasting as ordered. The secret is the quality of the meat and the right wood grill. And, of course, in sauces, the history of which Francesco studied for a long time. For example, his Bordelaise takes 7 long days to prepare before being served. Be sure to try the carpaccio or beef tartare. Francesco is a true fan of his cuisine. Ask him, and he will definitely give you a tour of the inner sanctum of his restaurant.

Blue Elephant

Loyalty to the traditions and gastronomic culture of Thailand is the secret of this restaurant’s worldwide fame. In Brussels and Paris, London and Copenhagen you can find a sign in the shape of an elephant shining in a noble blue color. The elegant Governor's Mansion in the center of Phuket Town, with over a century of history, is home to Blue Elephant on the island. In the ancient interiors, it’s easy to feel like royalty, because they serve exclusively palace cuisine. They were developed by the talented chef Kun Nurur Samani Steppe, who was at the origins of this chain. Not only a restaurant, but also a cooking school is ready to accept students who want to learn the basics of preparing the best dishes of Thai cuisine.

Breeze at Cape Yamu

A team of French and Canadian chefs invite you to this East Coast restaurant on Cape Yamu. Their specialty is international cuisine with a slight hint that we are, after all, in Thailand. The menu changes every season, but you can always find lightly poached oysters with a signature sauce of lemon, peanuts and coriander, and the restaurant’s signature dish – fried pork knuckle with mushrooms. What sets this restaurant apart from others is their unique Sunday brunch atmosphere, where guests gather around one large table. People who were strangers before share a meal with great pleasure, get to know each other, communicate, and become friends. After 22 dishes served, it is difficult to leave the table hungry. And after unlimited alcohol, you’ll also be sober, so worry about how you’ll get to your hotel or home in advance.

Kan Eang@Pier

This restaurant was founded over 25 years ago by a resident of a coastal village in Chalong, who bought fresh seafood and fish from local fishermen every morning and cooked it in his cart-turned-kitchen. Over time, his fame spread throughout the area, and he opened a restaurant on the pier, hence the name of the establishment. Already the third generation of the family carefully observes the traditions laid down by their grandfather: only the best and freshest seafood ends up in the restaurant’s kitchen. The menu is dominated by Thai cuisine, but there is also an offer for lovers of Japanese dishes. How can you not try sashimi made from fish freshly caught in the waters of the Andaman Sea? It is also worthy of attention that the King of Thailand, Rama X, of all the restaurants in Phuket, prefers this one for meals during his visits to the island.

Royale Nam Tok

This restaurant, opened by the brilliant Belgian duo Marc De Schriever and Corrie Ringo, can be called a hidden gem on the gastronomic map of Phuket. For more than 20 years they owned the De Tafeljoncker restaurant in Antwerp, which became one of the best in Belgium. In 2007, they bought a villa on the island, and since then every evening, except Sunday, at 18:30 the restaurant opens its doors to gourmet French cuisine for those initiated. The restaurant's interior is filled with expensive antiques, guests are served according to an almost forgotten tradition, when the butler, acting as a sommelier, does not leave his guests for a second, anticipating their wishes. This is truly impressive. The restaurant's cuisine is no less good. Eternal classics in perfect execution: lobster, frog legs and foie gras, scallops. Reserving a table is highly recommended, because there are not many seats.

Seafood at Trisara

In one of the most luxurious resorts on the island there is a restaurant with homemade, “mother’s” Thai cuisine. It sounds a little strange, but once you go there, everything will fall into place. Located on the very shore of the sea, the restaurant offers incredibly beautiful views of the sunset, the cuisine under the leadership of chef Kun Kla is at its best. His experience working in Michelin-starred restaurants in New York and Singapore allowed him to combine the recipes of traditional dishes from the southern provinces of Thailand with the most modern cooking and serving techniques. It’s worth coming here to order a set of the chef’s favorite dishes, or try tuna tartare, which has bright notes of citrus and ginger. No matter how cliché it may sound, heavenly pleasure is guaranteed, especially with a glass of fine wine from the Trisara cellars.

360° Bar/Firefly

On the territory of The Pavilions hotel are located these two establishments, which rightfully belong to the best in their categories. While the Firefly restaurant is ruled by one of the island's five female chefs, Belinda Tuckwell, the 360° Bar is dominated by the view of Phuket's west coast. At the restaurant, you will most likely be offered to try one of their signature dishes: spicy pizza with lamb, feta, pine nuts and mint, or steak with potatoes fried in duck fat. Don't refuse, it's very tasty. In the bar you can spend the evening with a couple of cocktails accompanied by lounge-style music, admiring the endless horizon that gradually hides the hot tropical sun.

La Gaetana

This Italian restaurant by chef Gianni has been around for so long that no one remembers when it opened in the center of Phuket Town. Everyone knows only one thing: for many years it has been delicious, home-style, Italian, because Gianni personally cooks for you. If you don’t know what to choose from the rich menu, ask the chef, he will definitely recommend the right dish, as if he knows what you like. Indeed, why not conduct such an experiment? And he can’t go wrong with wine either. Pizza, pasta, fish and meat dishes, the famous Ossobuco. You have to come here hungry. Definitely very hungry.

Sea.Fire.Salt

Many restaurants in Phuket offer their visitors fish and seafood dishes, but only one cooks them on bars of Himalayan salt. High in the mountains, they are cut by hand from layers of the purest salt deposits. Food cooked on such a bar does not require additional salting; the Himalayan salt contains a bouquet of useful microelements, and the cooking process itself is extremely exciting, since the hot bar is brought to your table so that you can personally observe how raw fish or meat turns into a world-class healthy dish.

Panwa House

This eighty-year-old mansion on Cape Panwa has repeatedly become the location for filming feature films. Inside, the atmosphere of old aristocratic Thailand is preserved. At dusk, its façade is illuminated by a million lights. It’s worth coming here to find yourself in a culinary fairy tale with a happy ending. The menu mainly consists of Thai dishes, they are prepared according to ancient recipes, with an emphasis on Chinese gastronomic traditions. This is not surprising; Chinese culture is historically strong in Phuket, as the Chinese were the first settlers during the tin boom at the end of the 19th century. The interior has a lot of Chinese antiques; the owners carefully preserve the heritage of their ancestors, both in the design and in the menu offered to guests. What to look out for: crab meat spring rolls and duck seasoned with a secret blend of Chinese herbs. What is sure to captivate you at first sight is the Chinese porcelain tableware and cutlery, made almost a hundred years ago and carefully polished to a shine by the Panwa House staff every day.

Saffron

The flagship restaurant of the Banyan Tree Phuket hotel is a fair of tastes from all provinces of Thailand. This is not a metaphor; in the restaurant, in addition to the classic hall with an a la carte menu, every evening a whole town of street stalls opens, from which you can treat yourself to any delicacy from the north or south of the kingdom. We advise you to be careful with unfamiliar dishes from the southern provinces. They are particularly sharp. Northern dishes are usually spicy and not spicy. If in the south fish dishes predominate, then the north is famous for meat dishes. They are prepared in compliance with ancient traditions, no amateur performances, strict adherence to the classic recipe, so if you really want to try real, unadapted Thai cuisine, come to the Saffron restaurant at sunset. An explosion of flavors is guaranteed.

Esenzi

The owners of the Iniala Hotel wanted to open a restaurant that would offer a menu worthy of three Michelin stars, with the atmosphere of the elite establishments of the gastronomic capitals of the world. They succeeded. Interactive serving of dishes is one of the features of Esenzi. Get ready for a culinary journey in the truest sense of the word. Guests are offered a choice of 3 seasonal set menus, which combine all the avant-garde culinary techniques. The restaurant's sommelier will offer a different type of wine for each course. The set menu is an unmistakable choice for those new to Esenzi; an a la carte option is always available for regular guests. This restaurant is an experience. Which in itself is priceless, because they are the ones who make any vacation unique and memorable.

Acqua

The name Alessandro Frau is known throughout Asia; he became the winner of the Iron Chef Thailand show, beating out many famous local chefs. He opened this restaurant in 2008. Acqua almost immediately became a noticeable phenomenon on the gastronomic map of Phuket, Alessandro offers its guests dishes of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. He himself comes from the island of Sardinia, which he is very proud of. On the menu you can find many dishes in which the chef uses native Sardinian products. Countless awards, including at international competitions, naturally led to Alessandro being recognized as one of the best chefs in Asia in 2016. Don't be surprised if he himself serves you the dish and has a nice conversation about life. A brilliant chef, Alessandro is one of those people who make Phuket a truly world-class resort.

Ka Jok See

The action in this cabaret restaurant begins with a formal dinner, you will be served traditional Thai dishes, tasty and spicy, don’t expect any special delights, that’s not what people come here for. As soon as the last drops of sauce fall to the floor, a cheerful transvestite in a shiny dress appears on the stage of the establishment and announces the beginning of the legendary show, in which both old and young, boys and girls are all participants. You can go crazy in different ways, but in a butterfly costume or a heart-shaped hat, in tinsel and confetti, in a single passionate impulse, everyone does it the same way. Choose a place at the head or tail of the train, the round dance train sets off on its journey across the tables. Some may find this kind of vacation defiantly indecent, but supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, who vacationed here to the fullest, really like Ka Jok See.

Diavolo at Paresa

Fine Italian restaurant with panoramic views of the Andaman Sea at the Paresa Hotel. Don't expect bold experiments from the chef; here the classics are brought to perfection. According to Luca Mancini, there is no need to change the recipes of time-tested dishes. If you add nut powder to tiramisu, it will no longer be tiramisu, but something else. An ideal place for those who share the same point of view. What's really worth trying: smoked salmon and goat cheese mille-feuille with capers and Italian herbs. This is the chef's original recipe, which he is very proud of. I must say, rightfully so.

China Inn

This legendary restaurant is located in an old building on Thalang Road in Phuket Town. The owners carefully restored the building itself and its interiors for two years in order to preserve the spirit of antiquity and nobility. At the entrance you can buy souvenirs and pleasant little things as a keepsake; the restaurant itself is located a little further away, in the courtyard, where there is a small beautiful garden with only a few tables. You should not expect high-class service; the cold tone of the waiters confuses some, but this is their manner, nothing personal. Concentrate on the food served here. Thai cuisine of the highest class. Our recommendations: The pomelo salad and massaman curry are perhaps the best on the island.

Nama

A new Japanese restaurant dedicated to the world-famous washoku culinary philosophy has opened at Amanpuri Resort. This concept brings together the harmony of taste, dish design, product quality and the very atmosphere of the establishment. The name of the restaurant is translated from Japanese as “Raw”. Sushi and sashimi made from fish, which are delivered daily by plane to Phuket from Japan, are the basis of the restaurant’s menu. The process of cooking in front of amazed guests is a whole ritual, to which the multi-volume works of Japanese culinary specialists are devoted. If you are a connoisseur of Japanese cuisine, then passing by Nama is a crime.

Phuket is a gastronomic paradise for food lovers. The abundance of various vegetables and fruits, fresh seafood, as well as traditional meat dishes will not let any gourmet relax. Local food prices are somewhat higher when compared with Pattaya or Bangkok, but even here there are establishments where all tourists can cheaply and tasty enjoy fresh delicacies.

On different beaches, prices for the same dishes can vary significantly. Many vacationers think that the most affordable food prices are in Patong, but this is far from the case. The cost of meals in cafes on the beaches of Krabi, Kata and Karon is comparatively lower than in the well-known Patong. But on secluded beaches such as Banana Beach and Paradise, the average check at catering establishments can increase significantly. This is not due to the high quality of the dishes offered, but due to the lack of competition. You can eat very cheaply on Chalong, but you can’t swim there - it’s a technical beach.

Where to eat inexpensively in Patong

There are several places in Patong where you can have a hearty meal without breaking the bank:

  1. The main favorite place for tourists where you can eat delicious and varied food is rightfully considered the night market, which opens its doors after sunset. It is located behind Jungceylon Shopping Centre. Here, ordinary tourists are amazed by the variety of products. Exotic fruits and vegetables, meat, seafood, everything is very fresh. There are special places in the markets where the products you buy will be immediately prepared. There are also mobile stalls that offer skewers of meat and seafood, fresh pastries and inexpensive drinks. Prices for products are below average, but even they can be brought down if you skillfully bargain with sellers. Pastries from 20 baht, soup from 30 baht, grilled meat - 40 baht, seafood - 60 baht.
  2. You can have a budget snack on food familiar to Europeans by buying it in one of the supermarkets. One of the most famous is “7/11”. There are donuts, sandwiches, sausages, salads, rice, noodles and baked goods. If desired, the sellers will warm up the products you purchased. This option is also perfect for tourists with children, since supermarkets mainly sell food that is very familiar to European people.
  3. You can have a quick and tasty meal in street cafes or at the food court. You can buy a meat dish with a side dish for 80 baht, seafood for 90 baht. Drinks are expensive, for example, coffee from 75 baht. Such establishments exist on almost all popular beaches of the island, as well as in large shopping centers and entertainment venues.

  1. Makashnitsa is a separate place that is worth mentioning, where tourists can eat cheaply. They can be found in any corner of the beach and its surroundings, their food is tasty and fresh. The cost of a serving of soup is about 40 baht, noodles with meat ingredients are about 50 baht, and grilled food starts from 10 baht. All food will be packed for you in a special container, which is convenient to go to the beach with.
  2. You can often find food vendors on the beach itself. They offer rice, noodles and seafood at low prices. The main advantage is that you don’t need to go anywhere, they will find you on the beach themselves. From such sellers you need to carefully monitor the quality of the products; sometimes you come across spoiled ones.

Food will cost a little more in separate cafes. The cost of a second course here will be around 200 baht. But you can save money by taking one side dish without meat. In this case, a portion of food will cost about 80 baht.

In restaurants, the average check per person fluctuates around 500 baht. They are best to go to when you want to have a romantic dinner and admire the sunset. In Phuket there are specialized restaurants that serve only seafood or national cuisine, and there are those where you can taste crab, sushi and Italian pizza at the same time. Usually, the average bill in such establishments is much lower, but the quality is often far from ideal.

The best restaurants and establishments in Phuket

Restaurants in Phuket are very diverse both in menu and in average price tag. You can find small and cozy places where the average bill will not exceed 400 baht, while others are very pretentious and advertised, where the price of a dish starts from 1000 baht. Due to the abundance of tourists from the countries of the former Soviet Union, restaurants with names of dishes familiar to Russian people are increasingly opening in Phuket. So, for example, wonderful dumplings are prepared in “Tropikoza”, and delicious belyashi in the “Baron” restaurant.

On one of Karon's favorite beaches, you can visit two more restaurants serving Russian cuisine. These are “At Ksenia’s” and “Veranda”, which have a number of positive reviews from our compatriots.

There is another decent restaurant in Patong called Waithai. Prices for dishes here start from 80 baht. The restaurant serves fresh and varied seafood as well as traditional Thai dishes. The advantage of the restaurant is that it is located very close to the sea.

For those who love Japanese cuisine, Phuket offers to visit Fuji, Sukushi and Zen restaurants. They have a wide range of sushi, rolls, traditional soups and even seafood dumplings.

Without a doubt, the main restaurants in Phuket are those that offer Thai cuisine with a large variety of seafood, which is prepared directly in front of the diners. Here you can try sea fish, shrimp and king crabs. Local chefs prepare real works of art from Thai delicacies. And the main advantage is that everything here is fresh. A favorite restaurant that offers seafood is Patong Seafood, which is located on the beach of the same name. Among the visitors here you can see not only tourists, but also local residents, since even among them the restaurant is very popular. It is better to book a table at Patong Seafood in advance. Also, among the famous seafood restaurants are Baan Rim Pa and the Blue Elephant.

Italian restaurants are considered one of the popular places in Phuket. Here you will be offered pasta, traditional pizza and many other dishes. The most famous are “M&M” and “Margarita”. The last restaurant is prepared by a chef from Italy.

Whatever your taste, you'll find somewhere tasty and cheap to eat in Patong. Of course, Thai cuisine is the most widespread in Patong, but you are sure to find Russian cuisine and other famous world cuisines here as well. However, the cheapest ones are usually the local dishes. So, if you want to eat deliciously and cheaply in Patong, then we advise you to pay attention to the cafes and street vendors who sell local dishes in Patong.
Cafes in Patong can be found anywhere. It is difficult to walk even 20 meters along one of the main streets of Patong without seeing some cafe. However, if you want to eat cheaply in Patong, you should remember one rule - cheaper cafes are usually located away from the beach. In addition, you should remember that cafes in Patong hotels offer very high prices. Therefore, if you want to save on food, we advise you to find one or more cafes near your hotel. Constantly visiting such cafes will ultimately allow you to save several thousand baht during your entire vacation.
Most cafes in Patong offer a menu dedicated to a specific cuisine, but even in such cafes there is often a selection of, so to speak, non-thematic dishes. Most cafes in Patong offer a large selection of Thai dishes in addition to dishes from the main menu.
If you want to try Russian cuisine, then in Patong you will find several cafes that offer such dishes. Although, as a rule, the dishes here are very tasty, you won’t be able to eat cheaply in such cafes, since a two-course lunch or dinner will cost an average of 500 baht per person. What Russian cafes are there in Patong? There are several of them. The most famous are “At Ksenia’s” and “At Uncle Yura’s”. The cheapest Russian cafe, as it seems to us, is the Kolobok cafe. True, this is a rather small cafe, which is located away from the beach.
For those who want to eat tasty and inexpensive food, Patong has a great place - the night market, where you can buy dishes prepared right in front of you. The prices here are very low, and the choice of dishes is very large. Rolls and sushi can be bought for 5 baht apiece, and all sorts of kebabs from chicken, shrimp, frogs, etc. can be bought for 30 baht per skewer. Here you can easily eat for 100-150 baht per person.
Do you prefer to eat in luxury restaurants? Patong has a large selection of similar restaurants where you can order all kinds of delicious dishes, even Peking duck.
If you decide to book a hotel without meals, then, of course, you will have a question about where to have breakfast in Patong. Fortunately, this is not a problem, so you can go to almost any hotel and have breakfast there. The cost of a set breakfast or buffet breakfast is usually low. For example, in an inexpensive 3-star hotel you can have a buffet breakfast for only 150-250 baht.

Food court in Patong

The most famous food court in Patong is called Food Bazaar and is located in the Jangceylon shopping center. It is generally accepted that the food court in Patong is a place where you can eat cheaply. But I do not agree with this statement, since there are many places here where the prices for dishes are lower. For example, in Food Bazaar, noodles with shrimp cost 120 baht, but in some cafes you can order the same dish for 100 baht. However, Food Bazaar is a pretty pleasant place, so in terms of the ratio of dining conditions and prices, this food court is really a good place for those who are used to saving money, but do not want to eat in Thai street cafes. If you want to eat cheap and tasty in Patong in a nice place, then Food Bazaar is a good option for you.

Buffets in Patong

If you want to eat at a buffet, that is, you are interested in an unlimited buffet, then you will find many such places. Who is suitable for buffets in Patong? Of course, for those who are used to eating to their fill. Do you miss buffet dinners in Turkish or Egyptian hotels? Then you can visit some buffet restaurant in Patong.
I’ll say right away that Patong has buffets to suit every taste and budget. There are even buffets for Thais with very low prices, but such buffets are located mostly away from the center of Patong, and you can only get to them by your own transport. You can, of course, take a taxi, but there is no point in doing so, since you will end up spending more on food than if you went to a cafe in the center of Patong.
The most expensive buffets in Patong are offered, as you might guess, in 4- and 5-star hotels. For example, at a Holiday Inn, a buffet dinner can cost between 700 and 1,100 baht per person, depending on the theme of the buffet. The most expensive buffet is the seafood buffet.
In the center of Patong there is a good buffet at the Sleep With Me hotel. It offers a buffet right in the hotel courtyard. The cost of the buffet is 400-600 baht per person (again depending on the theme). Although some grilled dishes are always offered here (for example, shrimp can even be on a regular buffet), in general, the selection of dishes is small. But there is live music here.
How to find cheap buffets in Patong? The easiest way, of course, is to walk the streets and pay attention to hotel advertisements. It's not uncommon to see something like "Buffet 299 Baht". You can also enter data about a tour to Phuket into some tour search engine, select only Patong Beach and set the meals to HB. All of the cheapest hotels in your search will most likely offer a dinner buffet.

Sushi in Patong

If you are a sushi lover, then Patong is the place for you. You can eat sushi anywhere here, and the prices for such food here are low. Of course, in expensive hotels and luxury restaurants the cost of sushi will be high, but you can buy sushi at night markets (5-15 baht per piece) or go overeat in Jangceylon, where there is a restaurant with unlimited sushi.

Fruits in Patong

You should remember that in Thailand different fruits ripen at different times of the year, so you shouldn't expect to see all the fruits of Thailand in one place in Patong. In general, there are no problems with fruits here, but prices have recently become quite high. If you go to Patong from mainland Thailand, you can see merchants along the road who sell fruit at a price 3-4 times lower than what you will see on the most famous beach of Phuket.
Where to buy cheap fruits in Patong? Probably the best place for this is the Malin Plaza market.

Of course, I don’t have the opportunity to list all the worthy restaurants; I will describe only a few of them.

Fast food in Patong

K-Hotel Restaurant

The Royal Kitchen

The Chinese restaurant serving Cantonese cuisine is located on the 25th floor of the Royal Paradise Hotel. From here you have magnificent views of Patong Bay. The restaurant and bar with a DJ lives up to its name: a white box right on the shore of the Andaman Sea. Bangla alley with street food stalls

You can say that this alley is the secret place in Bangla where you can eat under 100 baht. If you don’t know what’s there, you won’t even notice, the street is so narrow and closed. The landmarks are Family Mart and 7-Eleven mini-markets. Along one wall of the alley there are vendors preparing fried rice, noodles, tom yum and other simple Thai dishes. And on the other side there are tables lined up for visitors. The cost of the dish is 50-100 baht.

Baan Rim Pa, Da Maurizio, Joe's Downstairs

Three excellent restaurants for special romantic occasions are located on a cliff near the sea. Joe's Downstairs serves European cuisine and features white interiors. At Da Maurizio you will find Italian dishes prepared with organic ingredients. Baan Rim Pa has been renowned for its royal Thai cuisine for over 25 years. All terraces offer magnificent views of the bay. The second Baan Rim Pa restaurant is open on Kalima Beach, opposite the Kalima Resort Hotel. The average bill per person is from 1000 baht.

Kantok Restaurant

The authentic Thai restaurant is located at the Burasari Hotel. The word "kantok" refers to a low table on which several dishes are served. Guests sit cross-legged on the floor and share food among themselves. Kantok style dining is very popular in northern Thailand. Guests are offered to try various traditional dishes accompanied by Thai dances. You can order a cantok-style menu for two or choose individual dishes. Average bill per person from 700 baht. In addition, cooking courses are held here.

The Crab House

From the name it is easy to understand that the restaurant specializes in crabs. The Thai and Chinese fusion menu is to die for. Of course, you need to order chilli crab - a dish inherited from Chinese settlers and popular in Singapore. Crab House is a great place to try lobster with cheese or lobster with garlic and pepper. Or maybe you want traditional dim sum dumplings? It is very easy to find the restaurant by the huge orange crab above the entrance doors. Average bill from 700 baht.

Another place for steak fans. Unlike the previous restaurant, prices here are more affordable. The menu also includes European dishes, Thai cuisine, pizza, and burgers. The average bill per person is 400-500 baht.

Hooters

A piece of America in Phuket. As befits Hooters, it has everything a man needs: delicious food, beer, sports and nice staff. Waitresses traditionally wear short orange shorts and white tops. Football matches are shown on TVs. The menu includes chicken wings, burgers, sandwiches, salads and, of course, beer. The average bill per person is from 500 baht.

Yo Vegan

A kiosk in the food court of the new Central Patong shopping center. The cuisine here is Thai. Don't be confused by "chicken", "seafood" or "fish" on the menu. The restaurant does not use animal products. The average bill per person is 200-300 baht.

Hard Rock Cafe

Next door to Hooters is the Hard Rock Cafe with an incendiary Filipino band. The menu includes American and Mexican cuisine and a large selection of alcoholic cocktails. For souvenir lovers, the store sells T-shirts, badges, magnets and other goods. Average bill 500 baht per person.

Molly's Tavern Irish Bar & Restaurant

A typical Irish pub with all the necessary paraphernalia. European cuisine, large portions, several types of draft imported beer, live music in the evenings. The average bill per person is from 500 baht.

Coyote Mexican Restaurant

Mexican cuisine in all its diversity: fajitas, burritos, nachos, tacos, burgers, pork ribs and chicken wings. And dozens of types of Margaritas, tequila and much more. In the evenings, an incendiary band plays; you can choose a place on the terrace or in an air-conditioned room. The average bill per person is 300-500 baht.

Traditional Thai buffet "kung kata" where you cook for yourself. The cost of food per person is 250-300 baht, which includes an unlimited number of approaches to the buffet with raw ingredients: greens, vegetables, fish, shrimp, pork, chicken, shells, crabs, squid. A large frying pan is placed on the table, where you fry and cook yourself.

The Drunken Leprechaun

Another Irish pub with Guinness and Kilkenny on tap. At the entrance you will be greeted by a real leprechaun, with whom you can even take a photo. The concept is somewhat reminiscent of . The menu is standard for pubs: fried snacks, sandwiches, salads and more. There is live music in the evenings. The average bill per person is from 500 baht.

The best rooftops and bars with a view

Patong is certainly not Bangkok to boast of its rooftop bars and restaurants. However, here you can find a place for a romantic date right under the stars overlooking the Andaman Sea and the lights of the city at night. Wassa Bar is divided into two open verandas, and the view of Patong is beautiful. Another noteworthy restaurant, KEE Sky Lounge, is located at the KEE Resort hotel. You take a transparent elevator straight to the roof, where you can forget about the hustle and bustle of Patong and enjoy the beautiful sunset. Not as popular as the previous two, the On Top rooftop is located on the seventh floor of the Swissotel Patong hotel. Parties are held here, and you can also come to watch the sunset.

Restaurants and cafes of Patong on the map

Above, I described restaurants that deserve attention on special occasions or for dinner. I describe other interesting places in Patong in my appendix. Download it from the links: for and Androids. You will always find a large number of regular Thai cafes for daily lunches near your hotel or in the Jang Ceylon shopping center. Don't forget about. And after sunset, go to its bars and discos. Enjoy your stay in Patong!

Friends, if you are looking for unlimited seafood in Patong, I advise you to visit unlimited buffet in Patong on the 3rd line. The name of this establishment is “The Dome”, the sign as in the photo is “Buffet BBQ, all you can eat”. This is a great and inexpensive unlimited cafe in Patong. Opening hours: from 16:00 to 4:00. Exact GPS coordinates: 7.894947, 98.302470. They have a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/saymalai/.

Unlimited cafe in Patong “The Dome”

You can find an unlimited cafe by reading “Thai hotpot BBQ”. We noticed him by chance on the last day, since we lived 1 minute from him in a hotel. But since this cafe is not on any map, we went further to another one.

Here food costs 249 baht (***update: they raised the prices, now 280 baht), this price only includes a saucepan on which you can cook everything. A piece of lard is placed on top of the saucepan, and you can fry meat or seafood there. Grill is an additional charge and costs 100 baht. The food selection here is very decent and everything is laid out beautifully. Compared to where the cost is 250 baht, the difference is huge. This buffet is much more decent, there are a lot of tourists, although, I repeat, this establishment cannot be found on the map. How did they know about him? Apparently they came on a recommendation.

By the way, in all unlimited cafes there is a fine for leaving food on the plate - 100 baht. It’s better to come up 10 times and take a little food each time than to pick up a bunch at one time and not be able to handle it.

Unlimited seafood in Patong

The food to choose from looks very decent, but not live, of course. Seafood includes crabs, sea clams, mussels, shrimp, lobsters, fish, squid and shells. They lie in ice for a reason!

A large selection of other products, three types of meat in different versions, chicken skewers, there are even mushrooms wrapped in bacon, crab sticks, greens, a lot of things, we were pleasantly surprised. Several sauces to choose from - hot and even hotter. 🙂

A large selection of ready-made dishes - salads, battered meat, battered shrimp.

Desserts include cute fruit skewers and ice cream.

BBQ in Patong

All food is cooked in an unlimited café in a saucepan and on a grill, which costs 100 baht separately. We always take the grill, although often everything sticks to it, seafood “shoots” when fried, well, nothing.

This unlimited cafe in Patong left only a pleasant impression. A very decent establishment, especially when you have something to compare it with.
