Lake Heviz is a unique thermal resort. Economical holiday on the thermal lake Heviz in Hungary Heviz in winter

The Hungarian thermal lake Heviz attracts tourists not only because of its healing power and indescribable beauty. Many independent travelers choose it because of the opportunity to relax very economically while receiving a range of medical procedures. Another positive point is that flight options and methods of moving from the airport to Heviz itself are easily accessible to the average resident.

Lake Heviz – a world-famous health resort

The 4.7 hectare lake is located in the center of a large park. The source, which releases about 85 million liters of hot water daily, ensures that the water ball is completely renewed within 28 hours. The maximum depth is about 36 m. Summer water temperature is 34-36 degrees, winter – not lower than 23-25 degrees.

There are recreation centers and sanatoriums on the lake and around it. They operate all year round, so tourists planning a holiday on their own do not need to worry about choosing the optimal time to travel.

Features of healing Heviz water

The history of the hydrogen sulfide lake as a mineral spring dates back to 1975. Then its owner was Count Dyorgy Fashtetic. He was the first to use his entrepreneurial skills and open Heviz as a resort and health complex. The lake also has a significant history - after swimming in it, the daughter of a count from the Tatika castle, paralyzed on both legs, recovered.

Multiple medical studies and repeated cases of recovery do not question the effectiveness of water. Welcome to the most economical and truly therapeutic Hungarian resort!

How to get there

The main point: to Hungary you need a valid Schengen visa (you can get it at the Hungarian consulates in the cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg). The service fee is 35 euros. See the website mfa.gov.hu for all the information you need.

Via Vienna (180 km)

Austrian Airlines provides direct flights to Vienna from Domodedovo (by the way, they have flights from St. Petersburg), Aeroflot sends from Sheremetyevo, and Transaero is also successfully engaged in transportation. The minimum price of a two-way ticket is approximately 7 thousand rubles. If you book a ticket through the airline’s website, you will have to pay about 500 rubles more.

In order to “fit” the hotel reservation to the departure of the plane and thus not overpay for the hotel if the time is slightly different, we do this: when issuing an air ticket, indicate cash payment, the system will issue an automatic plane reservation for 72 hours (so that you have time to pay in cash). Next, we search for a hotel and book it specifically for the time of arrival. After booking the hotel, we call the airport operators and ask them to change the form of payment to electronic. We pay for the ticket. An electronic ticket will be sent to your email. The registration itself takes place one day before departure.

There is a regular bus from Vienna to Heviz. Another cheap way: airport-metro-train station-Keszthely or Balatonszentgyorgy-bus to Heviz. In total, both methods cost 25-40 euros.

Transfers. The pricing policy of travel agencies on average is 100-120 euros for 2-3 people one way (taxi - over 120 euros). For example, you can use the services of www.foxtransfer.eu.

Via Budapest (200 km)

The best option is to use Wizz Air airlines (you can book on the company’s website). The plane lands in Sarmallek (Hévíz-Balaton airport). The price of a two-way ticket is from 70 euros. The distance to Heviz is 13 km, there are buses (for example, a tourist bus costs 25 euros/person in two directions; one of the transfer companies is www.volanbusz.hu). Schedule of regular buses on the website bc.hu.

You can fly to Budapest Ferenc Liszt Airport (ticket prices from Moscow, St. Petersburg from 60-70 euros), from there order a transfer or get to Heviz by regular bus. By the way, popular travel companies that can take you to Heviz are Robinson Tours, 1000 Roads, Vedi Tour Group Hungary, etc.

Accommodation and meals

We all understand that if a town is a resort town and world famous, then there are plenty of options for living in it. You can choose a hotel for yourself on many websites, for example, booking.com. Among the most popular and positive hotels in Heviz are “Carbona”, “Evropa Fit”, “Danubius”, “Lotus Therme Rogner”, “Palace Hotel Hévíz”, etc. Prices are indicated on the websites of hotels or from tour operators. Nutrition and procedures are an individual choice. At the hotel, the average price for breakfast is 10 euros, dinner – 20 euros. When making a reservation, pay attention to bank commissions and who is charged this commission. There are cases when, due to the presence of intermediary banks that do not advertise themselves during the transaction, the total commission amount was equal to 30%!

Another accommodation option is renting apartments. The cheapest ones cost from 10 euros/day for 2 people. For a complete therapeutic holiday, you can go to any hotel and purchase a package of procedures without staying on site. The package amount is on average 150 euros/6 procedures. A huge plus is that for this money you get access to swimming pools and a thermal complex. If we consider the price range of each individual procedure, it is 10-20 euros (for example, a general massage is about 16 euros/50 minutes).

Meals in the apartments. Many shops, catering establishments, cafes, restaurants and a functioning market 3 times a week will not let you die of hunger. By the way, vacationers prefer to buy cheeses, local sausages, smoked meats, domestic chickens, berries and fruits, honey, nuts, and various preserves at the market (the signature thing is “smiling” jars). Prices in stores and on the market are approximately equal to Russian prices, and in some cases food is even cheaper than at home. For example, you can treat yourself to a sweet cake for about 70 rubles or three scoops of ice cream in a bowl for 35 rubles.

Special mention should be made of Heviz wines. Dry wines in Hungarian are “szaráz”, sweet wines are “edes”, semi-sweet wines are “feledes”. Not far from the lake there is a “Wine Hill” - the choice is incredibly chic. Here you can try homemade wines by the glass - 500 forints/liter. Vintage wine "Heviz" costs 2200 forints/bottle - it has a very special and memorable taste. The average price for wine is 2000-2500 forints.

Features of relaxation on the lake

To get to the lake itself, you need to buy a subscription. For example, a 20-hour subscription costs 40-50 euros. For a deposit of 3 euros, you will be given a special bracelet, which is an electronic key to all services in the bathhouse. When entering, this bracelet must be applied to the turnstile. Your personal locker will be displayed at a special display using a bracelet. When leaving the bath, you must put on a bracelet to stop time.

Apartment owners often offer discount coupons to their tourists. Do I need to take anything to the lake? It is advisable to take bathrobes, dry towels, beach slippers, swimming circles (in stores their price ranges on average from 3.8-4.5 euros, but you can ask for a circle in the pool, then it will cost free).

The Heviz pass includes mud in the open part of the lake and a salt cave. If you have any questions, please contact the staff; among them there is always at least one Russian speaker (by the way, the badges indicate the flags of the countries whose language the employee speaks). In addition, there are a lot of Russians on the lake - it’s incredibly easy to find a soul mate!

  • Many vacationers recommend buying a ten-hour pass. In total it is much cheaper than all the others.
  • There are Sberbank ATMs in Heviz, which is very beneficial for saving money while traveling. There are also ATMs with a choice of Russian menus. Try to use cards when paying for services, food, rent, etc. Terminals are available at most service locations. Think about how much you can save in euros without cashing them out unnecessarily (of course, you should always have the cash you need to enter the country with you, but smart tourists take it home later).
  • (especially for those staying in apartments). It is best to make an appointment with your chosen doctor by email! The hotel will most likely tell you that there are no places available or will offer you a date in a week or a week and a half.

What to see in the area

All life in this place is centered around the lake, but, nevertheless, if you want to see the surrounding area, soak in the history and see colorful Hungary, pay attention to the excursions advertised everywhere. The price of these is 40-80 euros for a variety of directions.

While relaxing on Lake Heviz at your leisure you can see:

  • Festetics Castle in Keszthely;
  • Balaton coast;
  • Badacsonytomaj distillery and Peter Varga distillery;
  • Sümeg fortress (knight tournaments);
  • surroundings of Tihany, Zalakaros, Tapolca, Kehida, etc.

Useful information: renting a car in Heviz costs about 40 euros/day. The longer the car is rented, the cheaper the cost. For example, from 15 days it turns out to be 25 euros/day. Speed limits are 40-90 km/h. Paid parking – 1-2 euros/hour.

Heviz warm breath,

Fog swirls over the water.

The frozen forest is all waiting,

Peace of mind for the coming summer days...

Heviz opened its holiday season this year, and already at the end of January.
When the New Year holidays burned out with sparklers and crystal glasses of champagne rang, and winter finally grabbed Moscow in its cold, dank embrace, we ran away. We escaped to warm, incredibly peaceful Heviz. Heviz, where a magical lake, shrouded in snow-white mists, has created around itself a fabulous atmosphere of calm, silence and beauty...
Where else if not here can you recharge yourself to the maximum with the healing energy of thermal water, fully relax your soul and body, leaving all urgent matters and empty chores at home! Even if only for a week!

TRIP TO AUSTRIA.

We planned to lazily hang out in Heviz all week, completely dissolving in the thermal embrace of the resort, but we couldn’t resist and took a full-day excursion to Graz, Austria, with a passing visit to the unique Zotter chocolate factory in Riegersburg.

Travel agency "Robinson Tours" (representative in the lobby of the Aqua Hotel).

Cost 80 euros per person.

Departure from Heviz at 7:40 am.

It is mandatory to have a foreign passport with you; when crossing the border, there is a random check; our group of six people, led by the Hungarian driver-guide Janos, was checked in a comfortable Mercedes minibus. This is the order now, by the way, we crossed the border in the opposite direction without any interference...
Janos is an experienced man, aged. Sociable and friendly, in addition to historical information, he is a big fan of talking about the current political situation in Hungary, and in the world in general. I learned the Russian language when I was still working in the USSR, at one of the enterprises in Siberia. While we were on the way, he told us a lot about the life of his compatriots, the Hungarians, and complained that we were not very lucky with the weather. The winter of this year, they say, turned out to be unusually cold (-3...-5 degrees below zero), cloudy and foggy... Yes, in general, everything was as real as it was: the sun did not please us during all seven days of rest by his appearance. Nature seemed to be hiding, covered with a snow-white feather bed of clouds and fogs...
Meanwhile, we arrived at the Zotter factory, where they create a real chocolate fairy tale.

Chocolate factory "Zotter" (Austria, Styria, Riegersburg).

At first it was thought that this stop at the factory on the way to Graz was a typical formality. Well, chocolate and chocolate, what could be interesting here? The amazing thing began as soon as we got off the bus at the entrance to the factory. Is this even a factory or a museum? Or maybe a chocolate theater? Chocolate adventure? Sweet fairy tale? Encyclopedia of chocolate flavors? Yes, all this at once!
The tasting and interactive route runs right through the workshops of real chocolate production at a height of several meters above it, through special transparent tunnels. Here you can try absolutely everything and in any quantity. You can start right with raw cocoa beans and end with the most expensive exclusive chocolate! So, save your strength until the end of the tour - all the most delicious things will be in the final meters of the chocolate marathon!
In 1999, the owner of four traditional Austrian confectioneries, chef Joseph Zotter, opened a unique enterprise aimed at creating unusual designer chocolate.
It is unique in everything - it is 100% environmentally friendly, diverse, unique and of the highest quality. What's the secret here?

Firstly, Maestro Zotter organized the work according to the Bean-to-Bar principle, which means: a full production cycle from cocoa beans to the finished chocolate bar.

Secondly, they work exclusively with bio-components according to Fair Trade standards, that is, they consciously prefer to do business only with small peasant farms in Peru, Congo, Brazil, Belize, Panama, India and Ecuador. After all, quality begins already at the stage of growing raw materials.

Thirdly, this is Zotter’s fantastic flair for composing flavor compositions. Chocolate filled with oranges and balsamic vinegar, dark chocolate with the taste of sweet wine and cheese, and how about this chocolatier’s masterpiece called “Ayurveda Course”, combining soy chocolate and filling of sesame nougat, ginger and dates. By the way, a very subtle, inimitably refined taste! You have to try this, it’s simply impossible to explain in words!

Fourthly, this is diversity! 365 different types of chocolate, one for each day of the year. Chocolate bars with cocoa content from 35% to 100%. Bitter and sweet. With fruits and caramel. With goat or sheep milk. With hemp! And also: children's chocolate on a stick, chocolate discs, chocolate-coated nuts, chocolate popcorn and even drinking chocolate for those with a real sweet tooth.

And, finally, the design - it is unique and has managed to become a cult favorite in its environment. The packaging meets the highest artistic standards of modern European art. Originality, interesting plot findings and a bright palette emphasize the uniqueness of chocolate from the wizard Zotter.

"So what do you think?" - Janos asked when everyone gathered in the car.

"This is not a factory - this is a real chocolate paradise!" - we responded in unison.

To prepare your trip on your own, I provide a link to the factory’s website. Here are prices for individual and group excursions, opening hours, directions and even an online store.

It so happened that Graz, the second largest city in Austria, despite its historical significance and tourist value, undeservedly found itself in the shadow of brilliant Vienna, musical Salzburg and Olympic Innsbruck. But in vain, because in fact, Graz is a really very interesting city, it organically combines the medieval architecture of the Old Town and futuristic objects built in our days.
Our small detachment of restless Heviz vacationers, led by Janos, passed under the ancient city gate "Burgtor" and entered Old Graz, which has been part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List since 1999, and in 2003 became no less than the Cultural Capital all over Europe.

Graz: history and architecture.

The first settlements on this land date back to 900, when Slavic tribes began to settle around the Schlossberg mountain. In 1240, Graz received city status, and from 1278 to 1918 it was ruled by the notorious Habsburg dynasty.
After Graz visited one of the capitals of the Holy Roman Empire, its status increased. Around the Main Square (Hauptplatz) the most important city buildings began to appear: the Town Hall, the Landhaus in the Renaissance style, the place where the parliament of the state of Styria still meets, and, of course, the famous Arsenal - a valuable collection of weapons collected since 1551. And here there is the most colorful urban development! The houses are each more beautiful than the other.
"Herzoghof" is a house whose facade is entirely painted with Roman and Greek gods and heroes.
The house "Ums Eck lugen" (Look around the corner) is richly decorated in Baroque style. If you look closely, in its stucco decoration you can see mysterious masks and faces looking at us straight from the depths of centuries...
The main attraction of the city of Graz is Schlossberg Castle, located on the top of the mountain of the same name. In addition to the unique funicular, you can also climb here to a height of 450 m via an impressive staircase carved in the shape of a serpentine in the rocky wall of the dolomite shield mountain formation. It is also sometimes called the “Russian Stairs”, since it was built in 1914 - 1918. Russian prisoners of war.
The dominant feature of Castle Hill is the beautiful Urturm clock tower (1712), with a large antique clock whose dials look on all four sides. The hands of this non-standard clock are mixed up - the large one shows the hours, and the small one shows the minutes.
The bell at its top is also unique; it is one of the oldest in Austria. Otherwise, Schlossberg Castle is the complete ruins of city defensive fortifications, densely overgrown with vegetation. Time turned out to be merciless to the once impregnable fortress...
After walking through the streets and alleys of Old Graz, admiring the medieval cathedrals, palaces and Franciscan monastery, we go to the Mur River, around which and even on which there are unique avant-garde objects that embody the flight of fancy of modern European architects!

Graz: a look into the future.

Kunsthaus.

This Museum was built in 2003 in the blob style - this is when the structure contrasts sharply with the surrounding buildings. The Kunsthaus houses a collection of contemporary art from the second half of the 20th - early 21st centuries. The building was designed by English architects P. Cook and C. Fournier. The unofficial English name of the building is "The friendly alien", and from afar it also resembles a giant futuristic submarine parked at the city pier, or maybe a strange deep-sea whale? In general, you can fantasize here endlessly! The Kunsthaus does not have its own permanent exhibition; its space is used for temporary exhibitions dedicated to cinema, photography, modern architecture, painting, design, etc. And to top it all off, the facades of this wonderful building represent a unique media installation with an area of 900 square meters. m., consisting of luminous elements that can be programmed using a computer.

Murinsel.

This is not just an entertainment complex - it is an artificial island-bridge located in the middle of the Mur River. The unique design is a floating object in the shape of a glass shell, under the glass dome of which there is a restaurant, a children's area "Adventure Island" and an amphitheater with a capacity of 350 people. Interestingly, Murinsel is able to glow entirely with a pleasant blue light and even move a little along the river. The author of the project was the famous designer from New York, winner of the Design Miami award, Vito Acconci. In one of his interviews, he admitted that “...I stopped making installations and preparing performances, because I felt the need for a viewer alien to art, who simply walks around the city, and does not disappear in the echoing silence of fine arts museums.”

Graz: the life of remarkable people.

Johannes Kepler is a great German mathematician, astronomer, mechanic, optician, discoverer of the laws of motion of the planets of the solar system. Kepler spent 6 years in Graz. Thanks to his extraordinary mathematical abilities, in 1594, at the age of 22, he was invited to lecture in mathematics at the local university. Here he wrote his first book, “The Mystery of the Universe” (1596), in which he outlined his revolutionary view of the mathematical harmony of the Universe. This scientific work caused a lot of noise in medieval Europe, and its author gained great fame...
Here in Graz, Kepler married the widow Barbara Müller von Muleck. Their first two children died before they even lived a year, and their wife fell ill with epilepsy. To top off the misfortunes, persecution of Protestants began in Catholic Graz, and Kepler, included in the list of “heretics,” had to leave the city and move to a more tolerant Prague...
We stood for a while near the house, from the wall of which, as a sign of memory of the life of the great scientist in Graz, a small comet with his name on its tail burst out... A story that can be seen live, just like that, in a quiet and seemingly an unremarkable city street...

In the village of Tal, on the outskirts of Graz, a man was born who went from a thin, sickly boy to a world champion in bodybuilding, the Terminator of world cinema, and even the governor of California. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the mansion where the famous movie character was born, there is now a very popular house-museum, the exhibition of which consists of the actor’s personal belongings, the original furnishings of his childhood, as well as artifacts from the most famous films in which Arnold starred. Training daily in one of the gyms in Graz, young Schwarzenegger could not even dream of the world fame awaiting him...

Graz: free time.

Free time of two hours, given to us by Janos, was devoted to Sackstrasse. This central city street received the unofficial name "Art Mile" due to the large number of art workshops, exhibition galleries, art cafes, antique, jewelry and other shops and shopping centers. Following a tip from our all-knowing guide, we first went to the Kastner & Ohler Department Store. On the roof of this store there is a large bar-restaurant and an observation deck with a beautiful view of the entire Old Town. And even though the weather was not particularly kind to us, trying to cover Graz from our camera with a cold veil of fog and piercing gusts of wind, the panorama of the city was still impressive!
Christmas has long died down, but the discounts on Sackstrasse remained, which, to our joy, we did not take advantage of, having really spent time doing Austrian shopping, shopping for children, for friends, for ourselves...

Janos did not disappoint, delivering us to Heviz exactly at the start of dinner, which allowed us even half an hour to relieve fatigue from an eventful day in the warm pools of the Aqua...

Small Hungarian town Heviz known throughout the world as the bathing city. Tourists from many countries around the world come here both in winter and summer. They come to plunge into the waters of the world's largest thermal reservoir - Lake Heviz, known for its healing properties since the mid-17th century.

Lake Heviz is unique both in its size and in the chemical composition of its water. In Europe - the only one, but on the planet - the second.

The area of the lake is 4.7 hectares.
The springs feeding the lake are located in a sub-lake cave with a diameter of 18 m. From here come two thermal springs with water temperatures of +42°C and +38°C, and one mineral spring, with a water temperature of +17°C, and here they mix.

The lake has the shape of a funnel, the depth of which reaches 38 m. In the summer months, the water temperature is +30 +32°C, and in the coldest winter months +24 +26°C. In winter, when the air temperature drops, steam rises above the lake. Locals say: "The lake is smoking."

The water in the lake is completely renewed within 28 hours and always remains clean.

The hot water coming from the source, breaking up on the surface into radial jets, slowly rotates clockwise. Due to this constant mixing, the water temperature is the same at all points of the lake. Cooled water from the surface circulates downwards, and hot water from the depths rises up. Counter currents and clouds of steam are formed in the lake, enveloping Heviz, due to which the water temperature in it is approximately uniform throughout the entire space. Moreover, the water in Heviz is completely renewed and always remains clean.

Lake Heviz is surrounded by a protected forest with an area of 50 hectares, which provides the resort with a special, unique healing microclimate.

The silt that lies in a multi-meter layer at the bottom of the thermal lake has extraordinary healing properties. The bacterial flora of sludge produces a weak antibiotic, so there are no pathogenic bacteria in the water.

Biological studies have shown that the mud covering the bottom of Heviz with a meter-thick layer contains hormonal substances - estrogens. But these studies were carried out much later. It turned out that sulfur, carbon dioxide, radon, which are contained in water, play a big role in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Water procedures and mud applications are also useful for rheumatic and gynecological diseases, venous circulation disorders, and inflammation of the nerves.

Water lilies of unusual shape and color, reminiscent of exotic countries. A botanist brought these plants from India. He decided to plant them in a warm lake, and the experiment was a success. Over time, water lilies became a kind of calling card of Heviz and were even depicted on the city’s coat of arms.
Heviz owes much of its fame to the Hungarian aristocrat Festetics, who was seriously involved in the development of local infrastructure - he built baths and bathhouses. And, importantly, he disseminated information about the healing lake among his fellow citizens.

Treatment on Lake Heviz

When treating at the Lake Heviz resort, physiological, natural healing factors for the body are used: a unique microclimate, healing thermal water and peat mud.

Consultations on drinking medicinal waters are provided by the hotel's therapists. This service is included in already compiled treatment packages.

Therapeutic mud of Lake Heviz

One of the highly effective healing factors of the Heviz resort is highly saturated with minerals mud, which cover the bottom of the lake with more than a meter layer.

They include organic substances - products of humification of plant residues, mineral compounds, the elements of which come from traso-dolomites and Pannonian limestone, the chemical composition largely repeating the composition of lake water, hormone- and vitamin-like substances. The microflora of the mud produces antibiotics in small quantities, due to which pathogenic bacteria and blue-green algae are not found in the lake. Another distinctive feature of Heviz mud is the absence of an unpleasant odor, which makes it especially suitable for therapeutic wraps and compresses.

The main groups of gynecological diseases for which mud therapy is indicated:

    Chronic inflammatory processes (chronic adnexitis adnexitis chron. with the possibility of cure)

    Chronic parametritis

    Adhesive process

    Certain anatomical incurable changes - to facilitate the process

    Consequences of abscessus cavi Douglasi and purulent appendicitis with persistent consequences

    Postoperative inflammatory processes.

    Hormonal hypofunctional conditions of girls and young women. obesity

    Infertility

    Oligomenorroe (G.Langendörfer, R.Peter).

Swimming in Lake Heviz

The healing water of Lake Heviz allows healthy people to swim for no more than 1.5 hours, and for rheumatic people - no more than half an hour.

Note: thermal waters are unsuitable for beach swimming due to their pronounced biological effects. A long stay in the water of Lake Heviz causes increased stress on the heart and circulatory system.

The effect of the water of Heviz in Hungary is achieved by a combination: the temperature of the water and the healing mud and gas it contains. The bottom of Heviz is 80% composed of inorganic substances covering the bottom of the lake: sodium and calcium. Millions of gas bubbles and particles of dirt in the water, nicknamed “Heviz dandruff”, create the effect of a micro massage of the skin. The bubble gas covering the skin on the body penetrates the body and has a healing effect.

    6 kilometers from the western shore of Balaton is the largest in Europe, the unique thermal lake Heviz. The surface of the lake, with an area of 47,500 sq. m., is covered with stunningly beautiful scarlet water lilies, specially imported from India.

    In summer, the water temperature in the resort of Heviz is 36 degrees, in winter it does not drop below 25, so even in the cold season it is pleasant to swim in the open air in a valley with a unique microclimate.

    Every second, 420 liters of radon, sulfurous water, rich in gases and minerals, are released onto the surface of the lake, which completely changes within 28 hours.

    A special factor is the healing mud from the bottom of the lake: it gives an excellent effect in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, rheumatic and inflammatory.

    The first hydropathic clinic on the lake was founded back in 1795 by Count Festetic. However, the healing power of the lake’s waters has been used since ancient times. According to legend, it was the waters of the lake that cured the future emperor of the Roman Empire, Theodosius Flavius, from paralysis of his legs.

    According to indications, the predominant place is occupied by treatment of rheumatic diseases and musculoskeletal system, as well as diseases of the spine, gynecological diseases, inflammation of nerves and muscles, venous circulation disorders.

    Indications for treatment:

    • chronic limb diseases
    • rheumatism
    • osteochondrosis
    • inactive form of gout
    • nervous exhaustion and disorder of the autonomic nervous system
    • functional neuralgic diseases
    • gynecological diseases (for example, uterine adhesions, infertility, menstrual disorders)

    • malignant tumors
    • cardiovascular diseases
    • hypertension, arteriosclerosis

    Composition of water in Lake Heviz:

    THE HEALING PROPERTIES OF LAKE HEVIZ

    Natural features of the lake:

    Lake current:
    • Healing water, beating in radial streams from under the ground, spreads in the semi-cone-shaped bed of the lake;
    • Cooling on the surface and smoothly rotating in the shape of a cylinder, the water slowly falls under a fresh flow of warm water;
    • A huge amount of water measuring 127,000 m 3 is in constant circular motion in a clockwise direction (in accordance with the laws of geophysics);
    • This ensures a constant temperature of the water and a uniform distribution of the minerals contained in it;
    • Due to the constant movement, the lifting force of the water is much greater than in the case of an ordinary lake with stagnant water, so it is easier to stay on the surface and correspondingly less physical effort is required when swimming;
    • The lake itself is a hydropathic facility with a dispersion system containing therapeutic mud: the mechanical impact of mud particles in constant motion causes friction, increased lifting force and hydrostatic pressure, as a result of which the floating body acquires a vertical position, which has a beneficial effect on blood circulation.
    Microclimate of the lake:
    • The surface of the lake, with an area of 4.5 hectares, emits a huge column of water vapor, being a large inhalation area;
    • The protected forest almost completely protects the lake from the wind;
    • The effect of the scorching sun should be taken into account (ultraviolet radiation is also enhanced due to reflection on the surface of the water);
    • The human body absorbs radon and hydrogen sulfide through the lungs more efficiently than through the skin;
    • Once upon a time, balneologists taught us that the patient should splash the water around him in order to intensify the release of radon from the water;
    • Gas bubbles touching the surface of the body cause a special overstimulating effect.
    Water composition:
    • Thermal karst water of the Triassic period containing dolomite, consisting of Ca, Mg, CO 3, HCO 3, having absorbed all minerals (trace elements), is stored in the Pannonian sedimentary upper rocks of the Neolithic;
    • 13,000-year-old thermal karst water and 2,800-year-old cold karst water mix at the cave source, creating a uniform temperature in 39 ° C and this mixture enters the swamp-peat bed of the ice-age lake (Riess-Würm interglacial);
    • There is an exchange of mineral substances between the peat bog and healing water: the healing sludge of the peat bog is enriched with the substances of the healing water, and the healing water, in turn, receives the substances of the peat bog (steroid compounds, terpene hydrocarbons, humic acids), thus forming a unique medicinal complex throughout the world .

    The healing effects of Lake Heviz

    Microbiology:

    At the bottom of the lake, peat deposits decompose with the help of actinomycetes (coryneform bacteria or radiant fungi), and groups of streptomycetes produce a natural antibiotic (microbiologists from Lorand Eötvos University found the only group of bacteria in Hungary that produces true streptomycin).

    Based on the fact, confirmed by 200 years of experience, that there are no coccoid bacteria in healing water, wounds from it have never become infected, 100 years ago hundreds of patients stood under streams of water, washing away blood from wounds received as a result of cupping (here more blood was shed than during the Napoleonic Wars) but there was not a single case of infection.

    Main active ingredients:

    The main active ingredient is SULFUR: the main element of joint cartilage, in cases of osteoarthritis (wear of joint tissue) and inflammation of the joints, signs of sulfur starvation of the cartilage occur. The lake contains bacteria of the genus Thiobacillus, which during metabolism convert biologically passive sulfate into active sulfide, which is easily absorbed and deposited not only in cartilage tissue, but in the liver, skin, fat, and also becomes an integral part of enzymes. The sulfur of Lake Heviz has an excellent effect on diabetic itching.

    Ca – Has an anti-inflammatory effect.

    Mg – Has an analgesic side effect.

    Carbonates: Provide a cosmetic effect; the skin becomes silky velvety.

    Radon - The composition of radon in healing water shows a lunisolar difference. No harmful effects of radon have ever been observed. Solubility in lipoids is primarily related to the pituitary gland; due to the increased secretion of the hormone ACTH, the patient is treated with the adrenal glands' own anti-inflammatory hormones without any side effects. According to some data, radon stimulates the production of calcitonin, which explains the pain-relieving effect in patients with osteoporosis.

    A course of treatment:

    To achieve the results of balneotherapy, it is recommended to undergo a course of water procedures.

    The expedient and ideal use of the properties of the hospital can only be prescribed by a doctor with many years of practice in Heviz, and not only in the field of rheumatology or physiotherapy, but also in balneology, taking into account natural factors.

    After all, medicine is not only a science, but also an art. Therefore, in the process of working in Heviz, we have the opportunity to use medicine not only in a scientific sense, but also in terms of a healing art.

    Dr. Dyarmati Jozsef
    Chief physician, head Department of St. Andras Hospital in Heviz

    Travel company "1000 roads" wishes you a pleasant stay!

    I was in Heviz in January. The weather was wonderful, from +3 to +10 degrees. heat. Lived in a hotel

    The location of the hotel is excellent, in the very center of Heviz, close to quiet streets with shops.

    4-5 minutes to a source of drinking water; to the thermal lake Heviz –Same; to the market – the same 4-5 minutes.

    The hotel has a large swimming pool, several Jacuzzis with different modes, saunas: Finnish, Turkish, aroma sauna and infrared sauna. The rooms are large. In many rooms located near the reception, the Internet works, and at the reception too.

    Lake.

    The best experience. When visiting the lake (you can buy a one-time ticket; you can have passes for 3 days, 10 days, etc.), after the locker room you walk through a long glass gallery on stilts to the main hall of the thermal pools and exits to the lake.

    Room it's indoor, with four fairly large pools and glass walls. The indoor air temperature in winter is +27. In 2 pools the water is +30, in 2 the same as on the lake, in winter it is always +24 +25 degrees. You can go down the stairs into the lake, or you can get into the lake directly from the two pools through the locks.

    In the lake it’s also +24, +25 in winter. (in summer up to +35). This entire structure is on stilts, like a platform, there are sun loungers, showers and changing cabins. There is also a cafe, etc. After visiting the lake - delight!

    Excursions to Budapest are offered from Heviz,

    Vienna, Bratislava, Bucharest, around the cities of Lake Balaton and other standard excursions. Full-day excursions (and they are mostly like that) cost between 80-100Є.

    We bought 2 excursions: to Budapest and to the cities of northern Lake Balaton. Both excursions are very interesting. But when traveling to Budapest there was a lot of fog, we didn’t see half of it, we didn’t see a panoramic view of the Danube River and the Parliament, etc. For those who travel to Heviz in winter, you need to keep this in mind.

    Now about the cons. Don't change money at the airport! Losses can be up to 25-28%. In many hotels you can change money on the spot.

    The prices are the same as at exchange offices. Do not buy goods and products in a hurry unless you intend to waste your money. For some reason, in Hungary because of our own mistakesthere were the greatest losses. Mostly prices for goods and products are in forints, but excursions, medical consultations and procedures are in euros. Many treatment services are offered partly in euros, partly in forints, it can get confusing.

    A consultation with a doctor costs 31-35 euros and lasts 7-10 minutes. The translator is with you, but you must formulate your questions in advance, and it is better to consult a doctor at home.

    It is best to go to Heviz for treatment of a person’s musculoskeletal system, if the cardiovascular system allows, otherwise the quality of stay and treatment there may decrease by 50-60% due to contraindications and well-being. At the same time you can drink min. water from wells. Only a few hotels offer 4-5 types of mineral water. In most hotels you don’t need to count on professional treatment; the obstacle is language and lack of time. Of course, there are all kinds of massages and procedures everywhere (by the way, in salons and on the streets they are much cheaper than in hotels).

    But the main treatment is the water of Heviz Island, the lake is unique, beautiful and you can come there at any time of the year.

    Purchases. Bags made of genuine leather, reasonable prices. There is a very large selection of swimsuits, you can choose (at least in winter), the models and quality are very good. Prices from 10-15 euros to 45-60 euros.

    Products. I liked the marzipans. The cheeses that are praised on the Internet are less tasty than cheeses produced in Holland, there are only a few varieties, and the price is not much cheaper than Dutch ones.

    I really liked the Hungarian cuisine. Meat of all types: venison, wild boar, pork, beef, duck, chicken, poultry (quail); Both in hotels and in cafes, the food is very tasty.

    And one last thing. Anyone at the airport hoping to get a 20% refund on goods purchased in Hungary worth over 300 euros (with receipts) needs to be at the airport 2-2.5 hours in advance. After passing passport control, persistently deal with this issue. After you achieve this, you will be charged another 7-8% for the conversion.

    After all, it is possible that passengers will board the plane on foot, along a corridor fenced with wire, along some temporary structures. Well, Hungarians don’t like Russians, and at the same time Ukrainians, as Russian speakers. In hotels and public places, Hungarians will treat you very kindly and correctly, but in other places they will not be particularly friendly. I liked my holiday in Heviz, but I don’t want to go a second time.

    Best regards L.
