Long-distance trains. Long-distance trains How many minutes does a train cost

We try to arrive at the railway station an hour before the train leaves. But this is because the city where we live is big and the trains stand at the station for 30 or 40 minutes. The cars are filled with water, the food is loaded into the restaurant, the parcels and letters are loaded into mail cars.

Therefore, if you arrive half an hour before departure, the train will already be standing at the platform, the first passengers have already entered the cars and have to wait until they pack their bags and place themselves.

Usually berm tickets in advance, choose the bottom places. If you arrive at the station before the train arrives, you can enter one of the first in the carriage and it will not turn out so that someone has already put their suitcases in the locker under the lower shelf. I’ll have to ask my fellow travelers to remove them, but I don’t want to start the trip with conflicts.

Once I read the rules at the railway station, I was just sitting in front of the stand, it was written there that arrival at the station for passengers   to avoid being late should be in 30-40 minutes.

I usually get it in an hour, so as not to rush, look around, find an exit to the platform and buy what I did not have time on the road (this happened more than once).

If you are going on a foreign trip and you need to go through passport control at the station, it is better to come to the railway station an hour before departure.

If you have a trip inside the country (the so-called domestic flight), then you can arrive at the station 25-30 minutes before the train leaves.

It will be best if you arrive at the railway station in 40 minutes. And no rush.

I consider it optimal to arrive in 40 minutes.

    1. Screening at the entrance to the station (in Moscow)
    2. If the station is unfamiliar, you can’t immediately figure out where to go (especially at large stations, and from where commuter trains depart)
    3. Trains are very long. You can go to your car for 5-10 minutes
    4. It is better to be one of the first to come to your place in order to calmly decompose quot ;.
  • In my opinion, of course, it is better to arrive at the station in an hour, or even an hour and a half, because you still have to go through the search, and choose a place that you personally like, it’s better not to be late for any document delays, but you can solve everything in an hour and calmly set off on the road.

It is important to know the arrival time of the train and the parking time of the train at the station, it is also necessary to take into account the travel time to the railway station (rush hour, traffic jams).

Before the train arrives, the optimal time of arrival at the railway station is 30 minutesbecause after arrival, you will have time to present tickets to the guide, get bed linen (if the trip is long) and calmly settle in your place.

In order to calmly get into the car and take your seat without any problems, it is best to arrive in advance, given the possibility of losing time in traffic jams. We leave the house an hour before the train arrives at the station, although there are only four stops by public transport. Five minutes walk to a stop, if there are no traffic jams, then ten minutes drive. With traffic jams sometimes happens longer, up to 25 minutes. But in any case, we get to the station before the arrival of the train.

Of course, you can leave later, but then suddenly you have to be nervous and afraid to be late.

But we sat a little at the station, heard an announcement on which platform the train was arriving and calmly left for it.

A quarter of an hour before departure.

It takes so much time to find out which platform the train leaves from and get there.

Usually the train has already been landed, there will be time to sit down and decompose.

If the station is large, then it is advisable to arrive there half an hour before the intended departure.

We always expect to arrive at the station 30-40 minutes before departure.

Much of course depends on how long the train stops.

In our city, trains cost about 20-25 minutes.

Therefore, you need to arrive 5-10 minutes earlier than this time in order to see which way and platform the train will come.

We went on an excursion to a small town, so there the train was only 3 minutes   we just managed to find the car and jump, even the tickets were not checked.

Therefore, there was no point in arriving half an hour in advance. It was possible to arrive 10 minutes before departure.

How to buy a train ticket with the greatest savings? Minimum price for train tickets: know the right moment. In this article, we will share classified information about how you can save on buying train tickets.

How to buy train tickets cheaper. rules

From December 2016, train tickets for all trains are sold 60 days prior to departure. As a rule, the principle works: the sooner, the cheaper. Almost all Russian Railways trains are subject to dynamic pricing - the ticket price changes depending on the season, day of the week and traffic volumes. That is, you can pay less by buying a ticket not on Friday, a weekend or Monday morning, but on Thursday or Wednesday. Therefore, in order to save money, it makes sense to move the trip for one day.

Seasonal coefficients are introduced on long-distance trains for reserved seats and passenger cars of non-high-speed trains. They travel, as a rule, cheaper in the spring: in March - April and from October to mid-December. On a public holiday on May 9, the price of tickets decreases by 2 times, and on other holidays and in summer, tickets go up by 10–20 percent.

There are situations when buying tickets for the entire route discounts apply that do not work part of the way, and then it’s more profitable to buy a “full” ticket for the entire route, and go out or board at the point you need. The same goes for the opposite direction. According to the rules of Russian Railways, it is possible to board Russian trains at any station after the departure station indicated on the ticket.

The price of train tickets is affected by discounts and promotions for a particular type of car. There are situations when a ticket in a compartment is cheaper than a reserved seat, and a CB is cheaper than a compartment. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze prices in higher classes. Very often, tickets to the top seats in the compartment from the start of sales and up to 11 days before departure can be bought cheaper by 20 percent, and on Tuesdays RZD sells tickets and discounts reach 35 percent.

Train Ticket Guide

Buy tickets in advance

This method is especially good for buying tickets in a compartment. With an advance purchase (up to 45 days for intercity and up to 60 days for international routes), the ticket price is significantly reduced. In some areas, according to this scheme, tickets can be purchased with a benefit of up to 40% of the standard cost. The rule here is simple - the closer the train departure date, the more expensive the ticket, so plan a trip well in advance and buy tickets after they are on sale.

But on the day sales start, you should not buy tickets - in any case, to popular destinations: the price in this case will be higher than the price that will be set on the second or third day. Experienced travelers know that the highest demand is on the opening day of sales. But do not overdo it and try to buy a ticket at least a month before departure - in this case you can count on additional discounts (usually 20%) on the upper shelves in compartment cars. It should also be remembered that it will only be possible to save money by purchasing at least 10 days in no way less, since when ordering a ticket closer to the departure date, a registration fee will also be charged, which is not available with an early purchase.

Enjoy discounts

In almost every direction you can buy tickets at a discount from the main price. Discounts can be due to various reasons (seasonality, lack of demand, etc.) - it is important for us to know only what they are. First of all, we advise you to follow the stocks (subscribe to news) organized by Russian Railways. You can do this on the official website of the company, all current offers are also available there.

As already mentioned above, due to discounts, it often happens that compartment tickets are cheaper than reserved seats (including due to discounts on seats on the upper shelves, as has already been mentioned). And if you want to drive in a compartment even cheaper, then remember that from November 16 to December 24, there is a special offer on which you can buy seats on the upper shelves at a discount of not as much as 20%, but as much as 35%.

One more trick, we repeat, the way is that if you are going to a stop that is not far from the arrival point of the train, it is best to buy a ticket to the final one, since discounts usually apply to the entire route, and you can overpay, even despite the shorter distance. The same applies to the reverse situation, when a passenger needs to catch a train at the next station after departure - the ticket in this case is more profitable to buy from the train departure station.

Please note that an additional discount can often be obtained when buying a train ticket in both directions (round-trip).

Accumulate Railway Miles

Russian Railways has its own loyalty program: register on the Russian Railways website Bonus, get a card number, indicate its number each time you purchase a ticket on the website - and accumulate bonus points, which you can then pay for a new ticket. After three trips with a virtual card, a plastic version will be sent to you by mail. On it, among other things, you can eat at a discount of 7% in restaurants near. Exist and cumulative discountsand on the VTB-24 Russian Railways card.

You can also use a card with the Cashback option - in this case, part of the money after the purchase will be returned to your card. And do not forget about children's tickets! So, children under 5 years old can travel accompanied by adults for free, though without providing a separate place. If there are two children, then the second child can get a ticket with a discount of 50% (the size of the discount may be different, and details can be found on the Russian Railways website or by phone). Benefits apply to all children under the age of 14 years - just remember to bring a birth certificate with you.

Book tickets online

Today, there are already many sites that compete with each other to attract as many buyers as possible. Accordingly, the price of tickets when buying on the site may be cheaper than if you buy them at the box office of Russian Railways. At first glance, this is surprising, but it should be borne in mind that Russian Railways provides significant discounts to its partners under a cooperation agreement, due to which the latter can set more favorable prices. By the way, tickets on the Russian Railways website itself are also cheaper than at the box office (you do not need to rent a room, pay for the work of cashiers, etc.).

Save on insurance

By default, insurance fees are necessarily included in the price of almost any ticket. However, having refused insurance, you can very well save a couple of hundred rubles. By the way, few people know about this, but you can refuse insurance literally just before the train leaves (more precisely, no less than 30 minutes before departure). Of course, it is nice to feel protected, but the likelihood that something will happen to you on the way is extremely small, and here you can save too. By the way, the full amount of insurance upon the occurrence of an insured event is paid only to disabled people of the 1st group, as well as to disabled children.

Long-distance ride with transfers

This rule, which is usually cited as an example when talking about air tickets, also applies to rail tickets. If you have to spend more than one day on the road, develop a route with transfers. With proper planning of the route, the duration of the trip will not exceed the travel time of the direct train, and you can save a lot of money on this. Some sites already offer a special service for selecting tickets with transfers.

If you travel abroad, it will be more profitable to buy two tickets: the first - from your station to the nearest frontier in the territory of a neighboring state, and the second - already to the destination station (for example, Moscow - Brest can be divided into two sections Moscow - Orsha and Orsha - Brest). In this way, you can save quite significantly on international tariffs.

Buy non-refundable tickets

As the name implies, a non-refundable ticket cannot be returned if for some reason you change your mind about going. Exception: force majeure circumstances. However, if you are sure that you will go, then the price of such a ticket may be significantly lower than the usual price.

Travel on the Sapsan

For some trains, Russian Railways has a separate discount system. For example, in Sapsan, which runs on the route Moscow - St. Petersburg, a 20% discount on a return ticket is valid - it is automatically applied when buying two-way tickets.

For those who constantly wander between the two capitals, Sapsan sells discount cards: if you travel every week, such a card will quickly pay for itself and save money.

Special discounts: –35% for newlyweds and birthday people (7 days before / after a birthday or within a month after a wedding).

Follow the shares of Russian Railways

For trips around Russia, an additional 25% or more can be saved with the “Good Tuesday” promotion.

This ticketing event is held every Tuesday. The list of trains appears on the website of Russian Railways on Monday. Sometimes the discount reaches 35% of the total ticket price. The promotion is valid only for certain trains, the number of seats is limited.

Discounts on top shelves in a compartment

For some destinations there is a discount “Higher - cheaper” - until the end of the summer a 20% discount for lovers of the upper shelves. With this promotion, you can buy tickets in a compartment almost at the cost of a reserved seat. The discount is up to 40% on the stock, while the standard discount on the upper shelves in the compartment is 10-20%. Basically, the discount applies to regional trains. There are separate floating tariffs for metropolitan areas (St. Petersburg and Moscow).

Regarding holiday ticket prices

The lowest train prices are valid in the fall, immediately after the New Year holidays and May 9th. Discounts can be up to 50% of the original price. The highest prices, of course, are during peak seasons, when everyone needs it — during periods of holidays and holidays: March 7–10, June 8–12, June 29 – September 2, December 29–30.

Well, the basic rules are written. It's time to plan your vacation .... and go get tickets!

Lazarevsky has three big pluses. First, sane prices. Secondly, it is a quiet green town. Thirdly, this is a place that makes me nostalgic - since my parents brought me here to the sea since I was seven years old. However, I’ll better talk about all this in a separate review.

But Lazorevsky has a global minus, which is able to block all the benefits of relaxation. This is the Russian Railways station, where trains stop for a couple of minutes UNKNOWN ON WHAT PLATFORM and with the risk of blocking the approach to the platform by OTHER COMPOSITION.

Yes, I know that using Caps Lock is indecent. But I can not do otherwise! Otherwise, I can only foul language!

So, we arrived in Lazorevskoye, in the morning at four o'clock, thanks to the guide, they quickly threw our bags and suitcases onto the platform and drove to the Omega, whose representatives met us in a minibus. The rest started beautifully. If it had ended in the same way!

Then I will take a deep breath, cross out the obscene paragraph and try to describe the extreme boarding of the Adler - St. Petersburg train under censorship.

We returned with a dozen bags and suitcases, as we were going straight from Lazarevsky to St. Petersburg (we generally had a vacation program for a month). Yes, barbecue, oriental sweets (many, many), Caucasian cheeses, tkemali sauces, spices, fruits, souvenirs ... In short, there was a lot of luggage. And what, we have no right? According to Russian Railways, apparently we don’t have it.

Arrived in advance, dragged the luggage to the center of the first platform. Well, now we need to find out which way - from the first, second or third - our train will come from Adler (here we are idiots, it would be better if we took a taxi to Adler and got into the car calmly!).

So, I go into the station building. And the thrash begins.   In the window of the attendant they bark at me:

- Which way? How do I know?! As you come, you will know!

It says the station attendant. This is said to the passenger fifteen minutes before the arrival of the train. Which stands in Lazarevsky for two minutes. Check out the service?

I go to the gentlemen of the cops. Gentlemen the police shrug. Well, of course, they have other responsibilities.

Okay. We occupy a position in the center of the first platform, opposite the wooden transition to the second. We stand in the sprinter rack. We squeeze the handles of the bags in our hands. Exactly in the same tense stance dozens of other passengers freeze. We are all looking at a narrow passage. If the train’s approach to the second or third way is announced, we will, together, in a crowd, crushing each other, rush to the second platform.

Announce the arrival of the train ... damn, still on the second way! Forward! STOP!!! What is there THE SCREAMING ON RAILS TO MEET THE CROWD, what is there a hundred meters ?!

And this is another passenger ARRIVING ON THE FIRST WAY!

So, I swallow some water and try to outline the picture calmly. Lazarevskoe. Two platforms. Three ways. One ground crossing. Not a single aboveground or underground. And simultaneously arriving trains on the second and first tracks.

Some passengers (the most daring) flew along the ground crossing with suitcases and screaming children right in front of the arriving passenger. I'm a coward. I froze in a stupor with five bags on the first platform. I could not cross the rails ten meters from the muzzle of an electric locomotive. I was cut off from my train.

Again. I turned out to be cut off from my train by another train, and my train costs two minutes.   And this composition stood up for a long time.

While I stood and stupid, other passengers, also remaining on this "shore", rushed to bypass an unexpected barrier. Men, women, children, senior citizens and even a disabled person on crutches plus a bunch of luggage moved past the stretched train to the rails. Damn, I will never forget what it feels like to cross the rails with a few bags a few meters from the harry of an electric locomotive. It's very scary. Damn, this is simple.

But here we find ourselves the whole crowd between the two compositions. On a narrow strip between the paths - the first and second. And stupidly slamming at the CLOSED DOORS OF CARS. And with what joy should they be open? Doors open onto the platform!

The most active passengers begin to run and knock. In some places, dissatisfied physiognomy of the conductors begins to appear.

Two minutes have already passed. The train is about to move. But here the conductors lazily report that "still stand." (And indeed, the train stood about ten to fifteen minutes). But when he starts, it is not clear. We begin to climb into whatever cars, just to climb.

I throw my bags. Climbing, sighing. I don’t have a ticket.   I don’t have tickets, money and passports (my relatives turned out to be bolder and managed to cross the passage). The mobile phone passed out. Yes, it’s my fault that I didn’t charge it. Therefore, I get out of the car on the second path and go to search for relatives ... who have already crossed over to the cars, between the tracks! And they are trying to get to the first platform in order to pick me up from there!

Oh my! And after all, we are not the only ones. Other passengers rush between platforms and trains ... With bags ... With children ...

In short, our “Adler - St. Petersburg” set off. Mountains and the sea swam behind the windows of the vestibule. Checked our tickets. With trembling hands, she opened a pack of Pal Mel. I smoked half packs. Well, now there is nothing left. Nonsense - to luggage in your car!

I explain the location. I don’t remember exactly the numbers of the cars, but something like that. Half of the luggage is in the fifteenth wagon. The second half that I locked - in the fifth. And our places are either in the eighth or in the tenth. Somewhere like that.

Among this baggage scattered throughout the entire composition are a camera, a netbook, barbecue and other valuables.

Let's go collect. And the legs are already breaking. The hands are shaky. Nervous tick. Shaking really. Dodger after the experience. And with bags, suitcases - on vestibules, on passages, on reserved seat wagons!

We sat down, got cognac. Although he’s a local one, he went well. We try to talk and joke - but it turns out only a mat with pretexts.

Impressions - for life. Cool went. Free extreme from Russian Railways!

It would seem that it can be difficult when traveling by train. I sat down and go quietly. But, unfortunately, from time to time I notice that many people often do not know their rights and opportunities, and because of this they have inconvenience when traveling. On the other hand, having worked for some time as a guide, I had the opportunity to look at the passengers from the side, and I understand that some things people do contrary to logic.

If necessary, read on the train "Russian Railways", as well as on what you can save on and. And today we’ll talk about little tricks, which, unfortunately, far from everyone knows.

11 little tricks when traveling by train "Russian Railways"

1. Refund of a train ticket

You can return the purchased train tickets; this is no secret to anyone. Moreover, if you surrender earlier than 8 hours before the departure of the train, then you will lose only the surrender fee (before the end of 2017 - 192.7 rubles). The later you return the ticket, the less money will be returned to you.

But it’s interesting that even if you are late for the train, you can still hand over tickets. It's possible no later than 12 hours   after the departure of the train. Money will be returned to you a little, but it is still better than zero. Perhaps it will be more profitable for you to renew your ticket for the next train (naturally, you will lose some of the money too).

Details on returning train tickets to. Details of how much you lose if you pass a train ticket.

2. Free toilet at the station

All stations have a toilet. At the entrance there is written the cost. But if you decide to visit it no more than two hours before the departure of your train, then you must miss for free. Show the ticket at the entrance and go through. It is useful, especially considering the fact that after departure, toilets in many cars do not open immediately.

3. For fans to resort to at the last moment

If you managed to train in the last minutes before departure, then it is not necessary to try to get into your car. According to the instructions, if no more than 5 minutes are left before the train leaves, then you should be put in any carriage in your train. True, this is provided that your ticket is printed on a two-layer orange blank of the automated control system “Express” at the ticket office or on a single-layer in the terminal (by the way, a ticket with electronic registration can also be printed in the terminal).

Theoretically, there may be problems with paper printouts of electronic tickets, but they should not. The guides are now not looking at them, but at their lists. It is rare that they do not have lists. Usually then planted on a printout.

Especially pay attention to this rule if you take a train at stations where the parking time is 1-2 minutes. More than once I saw a picture of how some full woman in a hurry runs to such a car at such a station, does not have time, and begins to scold trains, conductors and everything else. Although in reality she herself was to blame for not getting into the first carriage that came across. At such a station, I would definitely take care in advance of getting a ticket on an orange form, just in case.

In general, better not be late! Remember that no one will land you on the move, even if the speed of the train is still very small: the conductor can be fined or fired for it.

4. Dry closets in neighboring cars.

If you got on a train, and found that the toilets in your carriage are of the old type and are closing at the stations, do not worry. Perhaps in a nearby car you will find a dry closet.

In accordance with sanitary standards, Russian Railways already purchases only wagons with dry closets. Old wagons appear less frequently, but still drive. Often now you can meet a situation where both old cars and new ones are hooked in the same train (the irony is that the price will be the same for them). If you are not lucky enough to get into the old one, and there is an urgent need to visit the toilet while parking, try to get around a couple of neighboring cars. Perhaps you will find a dry closet that will solve your problem.

5. Never use an ordinary toilet at stations!

If you still have an old-style toilet in your carriage, with a drain to the path, then please do not use it during parking! True, no!

This rule was invented for a reason. It happens that the conductor did not have time / forgot to close the toilet in front of the station. In addition, at each station, where the parking is 1-2 minutes, you also do not run to close these doors. For these cases, there is a personal responsibility of the passenger!

At the same time people go to the station, fitters work. They will not be very pleased if they pour on their heads, sorry, “the contents of the toilet”. For such a conductor can be fined.

Even if it seems to you that the train stopped in the field, you do not need to use the toilet. Perhaps this is such a station)

If you went to the toilet on the go, and the train suddenly arrived somewhere and stopped, then just don’t flush it until the train goes further. Seriously, that would be more correct.

6. Drinking water in the car

In titanium, you can draw water for tea, of course, this is nothing new. At the same time, if you suddenly see that the temperature is far from 100 degrees, then remember that it is possible to make tea anyway. I have experimentally found that a tea bag is brewed at a temperature of 70 degrees. Below it doesn’t work out.

On the other hand, if the water temperature is very low (this happens, for example, early in the morning or immediately after departure, if the conductor forgot / did not manage to turn on the titanium), then do not be afraid that the water is unboiled. Titanium is designed in such a way that raw water cannot pour from a tap. If the temperature is low, then it once boiled, and then just cooled.

Also opposite the titanium, next to the office, there is cold water. It is also boiled there, comes from titanium. But the problem is that the pipes it goes through may be old, and not the fact that it will be of good quality. Personally, I do not drink this water.

7. How to pour boiling water

When you pour boiling water into a glass, always keep a spoon in a glass, and the glass itself in a cup holder. So you reduce the likelihood that the glass will crack from hot water. This is rare, but the possibility exists.

In addition, there is a rule in the instructions for the conductors, which, I think, will be useful for all people - if you need to carry two cup holders, you should do this with one hand. The second hand should be free.   This is in case the train suddenly brakes or turns, so that it is possible to grab the handrail with your free hand and not scald anyone. Yes, and no more than two cupholders at a time.

8. A glass with a spoon

If you have your own tea or you just wanted water, then it is not necessary to buy tea from the guide. The conductor can provide a glass in a cup holder and a spoon for free. The keyword is "can." I used to write that he was obliged to do this (it was), but they clarified in the comments, and I checked - according to the new rules, a glass with a spoon is provided if you buy tea. But the important point is that the conductors themselves do not always know about it. I interviewed several, they were very surprised, because they, like me, were sure that everything was free. So you can ask, but they will give it or not - it’s already as lucky.

In addition, not always, but it happens that there are knives and forks in the cars. Surely free, but even less often there is chess. There should also be a first-aid kit, although now they do not put anything sensible in it. And also, if necessary, the head of the train can call doctors to the patient while standing at a large station.

9. Return items to where you got them.

If suddenly, you took a glass with a cup holder from a conductor (a spoon, a fork or whatever) and left with him in a neighboring carriage to your friends, then be sure to return the property exactly to where you took. If you think that you can hand it in any carriage, and it will return where it is necessary, then you are mistaken. Each conductor is responsible for the property of his own car and reports on it. Yes, perhaps he finds out from the conductor of the neighboring car that he has extra items. But this does not always open up. What can we say about cars located far from each other. And if there is a shortage, the conductor will have to cover the cost from his pocket. A spoon is inexpensive, but the cup holder is already noticeable. So do not neglect this rule!

10. Complaint book on the train

I have already mentioned that, if necessary, a complaint book can be requested from the guide. A book of reviews and suggestions is in every train and it is stored in the head carriage at the head of the train. If the conductor for some reason refuses to provide you with this book, you can take a walk to the staff car (by the way, do not forget to write about this fact too). It is located approximately in the middle of the train (ask any guide where it is). There, contact the train chief directly. In general, you can ask to call the head of the train to your car to resolve any conflict situations.

When compiling a complaint, indicate the date, route, train and wagon number, name of the conductor, and state the essence of the problem in detail. Of course, conflict situations are different, and not all of them are worth recording in the plaintiff book. Nevertheless, you need to know about this possibility. Conductors are afraid of complaints, because because of them, the conductor can be deprived of bonuses, suspended for some time or even fired. Consequently, once having received a complaint for a glass with a cup holder that was not provided free of charge, the next time he will not be upset to break the rules.

It often happens that a passenger unreasonably requires some things. But then you will be indicated by the head of the train.

In addition, a thank you guide can also be written in the review book. If you liked the service, feel free to ask the guide to bring the book. Then they will bring it to you right away, of course)

11. Do not fold your laundry before delivery!

Last but important rule: never fold beddingbefore you pass it! Seriously, just never, never fold!

Some people think that if they put the laundry in a beautiful pile, then the conductor will be more pleasant, or that it is more convenient, decent, or the like. In fact, the opposite is more uncomfortable and unpleasant!

One-time train tickets are of two types: for one trip one way and for one round trip.

Validity

A one-way train ticket is valid for one trip during the date indicated on it, as well as during the hour of the next day.

According to the rules of transportation, a return ticket is valid for one trip from 00:00 00 minutes of the day indicated on the ticket, no less than until the end of the next day.

In trains AO « Central PPK "and JSC « Moscow-Tver PPK ”(as of 2018) the validity of the return ticket exceeds the minimum - the ticket is valid until the end of the next day, not counting weekends and holidays.

Having bought a round-trip ticket in Moscow on Friday, you can leave on it “back” on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and even on Monday.

Having bought a ticket in Moscow on Saturday, you can return back on Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

If the ticket expires on its way, it is extended until the train arrives at the destination station indicated on the ticket.

Preferential tickets

Preferential tickets (discounted or non-cash), as a rule, can only be bought on the day of the trip. When buying a ticket and en route, you must have with you all the necessary documents confirming the availability of benefits.

Federal beneficiaries - residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region, as well as regional beneficiaries of Moscow, can usually issue free tickets for 10 (or less) days at the ticket offices of the Central and Moscow-Tver suburban passenger companies, subject to the availability of a social card.

Regional beneficiaries of St. Petersburg and the region can also purchase a ticket on the day preceding the trip.

Discount tickets are issued at the box office, as well as at self-service terminals (not at all stations and not in all regions).

Please note: free travel does not mean stowaways. Passengers with the right of free travel are required to issue a non-cash ticket at the ticket office or at the terminal before the trip. When issuing a ticket directly on the train, or at the ticket office after the end of the trip, the carrier has the right to charge a fee for issuing a travel document (usually 50-200 rubles), unless there is no ticket office and terminal at the station (stopping point) of departure.

Season tickets

Like single tickets, it can be issued at ticket offices and self-service terminals.

In the Leningrad direction (Moscow-Tverskaya PPK), subscription tickets can also be issued through the Suburban Ticket mobile application.
