- What does it mean to you to be in your place? Why do we all put off and put off

Elena Rezanova - female entrepreneur, founder of the LIFE IS NOW project, career consultant, author of the book “Never. How to break the deadlock and find yourself. "

Biography

Elena was born in a simple family, childhood and adolescence did not differ from the lives of other young girls. School, friends, walks, sections. Until 17 years, the girl lived in a small village in the Omsk region, then she entered the University of Omsk. At the end of the first year, Elena gave birth to a son. As the woman herself says, it became a huge incentive for her to move on and grow further: “If the child was not born at 19, but, for example, at 38, perhaps I would not have had such zeal to manage everything and everywhere ...”

Elena was actively engaged in her self-education, career. She moved forward and grabbed every opportunity for self-realization and development of her "I". The stage of active growth and development lasted up to 38 years - so Elena herself distinguished her life. Spouse Elena supported all her undertakings, ideas.

If you connect the onset of real life with the moment when you accumulate a certain amount, you risk missing your life or postponing it for a long time.

The third stage of life, according to Elena, began in 2011, when she and her husband went to Paris with a one-way ticket. They just left everything and decided to start life with a clean lita. Of course, fears were present, because no one knows how life will turn out in a new place. At this time, Elena realized her freedom and strength, she realized how great it is not to depend on the office, bosses and other things everyday for our busy life. In Moscow, they left behind a noisy office world, where she and her husband built a successful career. Ahead - dreams, space for imagination and a new life. So, having ventured once, Elena was able to discover a new world for herself and her family.

Elena Rezanova talks about her career, success boldly and openly, not being afraid to be misunderstood or funny:

“Of course, there were moments when I wanted to step back, give up everything and return to my former life. For example, at the very beginning there were catastrophically few customers, all earnings went to taxes. Once I came to the bank and simply could not pay the full amount at once. They met me, but my disappointment was very great. Sometimes I thought that nobody needed my idea, and, frankly, my hands just dropped from these thoughts. But I didn’t allow myself to lose heart, I tried to mentally encourage my inner “I”, because I sincerely believed in my idea and at all costs I wanted to realize it. "

Time passed, business grew. Albeit at a slow pace, but progress was visible. Elena's family helped her in everything, supported her. Soon, things went uphill. The first serious customers helped Elena’s business get on its feet. The woman realized that it was not in vain, and began active work. The rise of business came in 2013. Since then, as in any other business, there have been recessions and increased activity.

The most important support and support of Elena is her family. The woman’s husband, together with her, is actively working in the field of career strategies. A woman loves to travel, learn new things and discover secrets, beauty of this world. Having lived childhood and youth as an ordinary girl, Elena was able to find the strength, potential, believe in herself and go in search of something more. Just one step changed her life, and now the whole world knows about her.

If we take the well-known 10,000 hours that are needed to become an expert, then they will be produced much faster in the “interesting” mode. And with pleasure.

The total experience of Elena Rezanova in this area is more than 17 years. There are also many achievements of a different nature behind her shoulders:

 • The experience of changing one's own life is the foundation that helped to understand how her business will work.
 • Career in an international corporation (in 2011 Elena left the company as Talent Manager).
 • Successful experience building your own company.
 • Extensive practice as a consultant with professionals from all over the world.
 • Development of our own system of work and approach to customers.

Today Elena Rezanova is a successful entrepreneur working with people around the world. For each of her clients, she selects an individual plan for solving his problem, offers a lot of options and strategies, how and in what direction to move on. Her family lives in Monaco, enjoying their freedom and independence. They travel a lot and do not regret the decision made many years ago to leave everything and leave. Elena successfully helps those who are in the middle of her career path and does not know which step to take next.

When they ask you the question “what are you doing” - what do you answer? Do you feel that you have not found yourself and are capable of more? Perhaps acquaintance with today's heroine of the column “Our People in Monaco” will help take the first step towards this. Elena Rezanova lives in the Principality and advises people and corporations around the world. Her specialty is self-realization and career strategy.

Lena, how and when did you move to Monaco?

First, in 2011, we moved to France, since 2012 we have been in Monaco. Before that, we lived the normal life of office employees and had a wonderful career in an international corporation in Moscow. But at a certain stage they decided to completely change the course of their history, and the husband entered to study as a chef in Paris. Then there was Provence, where we made our own gastronomic project. And then a job offer led us to Monaco. Here, Roma’s husband started working, daughter Anya went to school, and I registered my project is Life is Now. So in Monaco we were led by a random coincidence - and thank you, your ability to acquaint and connect people played an important role.

How do you live in Monaco?

I love this place, it is sunny and vibrant. We live in the port of Hercule and the whole rhythm of Monaco is felt directly with us - all Formula 1 and concerts on the waterfront. I like the people who surround me, I like absolute safety and beauty. But like all consultants, I spend most of my time at the workplace, and therefore it’s easier to meet me at the bank than somewhere in secular places 🙂 Although there are exceptions.

Who are your customers? Where do they live and what do they do?

These are people who are doing well. They live anywhere - in Moscow, in Washington, in Amsterdam, in London, in Hong Kong. By their 30-40 years, they have already taken place. Everyone around them sees a beautiful picture, but a person understands that yes, everything is fine, but something is missing.

And what might they miss?

If we are talking about a man, then behind the external success may be hidden under-realization. For example, a person understands that his work does not coincide with what he wants to leave in the world. Or feels that he is capable of more. But he does not understand how to act.

If we talk about working women, then they may lack a balance between work and family. And they have a feeling of guilt in relation to something - or to work, or to family.
If we talk about women who are not working, then they too may lack balance, because the advantage is towards the role of wife and mother, and there is no other field for self-realization.

Many women dream of devoting all their time to the family and not working, where do the problems come from?

Only one area of life - the family - cannot use its full potential. And this potential begins to “wake up” out. But there is no occupation - no project, no interesting and exciting hobby. And it turns out that a person begins to feel that he is missing something, not living a full life.

Once I happened to work with wonderful Eugenia. She is a wonderful wife, a mother of two babies, but when she met interesting new people, when asked “what are you doing” she has nothing to say except “I am a housewife”. And seeing how other people have some interesting projects that make their eyes burn, she began to feel that the world was flying somewhere, and she was left on the sidelines.
Now she is engaged in several interesting projects at the intersection of her previous specialization (marketing) and restaurant business. And no longer says "I'm sitting at home." At the same time, family and home are just as important - but this is a real balance.

And what kind of needs do working professionals have?

They have something else. They have two tasks - either to get to the top as efficiently and quickly as possible (to the one that still needs to be selected). Or find a way to translate your idea.
And here you need to deal with two main things: what is the potential, strengths, uniqueness of this person. And the second - from what his eyes light up, what are his interests. Because when these two things coincide, it is a powerful charge of energy. A person can do much more than others.

Why know your strengths and potential?

Let’s explain with an example. Masha, you are unique in your ability to create a special information and emotional field around you. Or a stream. Many times I heard about you the phrase "Masha knows everything!" And your project Monaco-Ru is very much in the subject. But it can be other projects where your talents would find application. And if you look for them not intuitively, but consciously, asking yourself the question: where are my features creating me the maximum competitive advantage? - then you can find many ideas. If a person does not know, he can wander for a long time in the dark - and there he will be so lucky.

How do you usually work with clients?

We are discussing the situation, and I offer an individual program. There are a lot of all sorts of interesting exercises, questions, tools. A program usually consists of several sessions, with a regularity of approximately once a week. In the process, a person discovers so many things in himself, about which he did not even guess! Needless to say, I just adore my work. It allows you to change people's lives for the better.

If our readers have questions about finding themselves, how to contact you?

I will be very happy to chat with HelloMonaco readers. The first consultation is free! Email me at [email protected] and we will certainly discuss your situation. Moreover, for this we can meet not only on Skype, but in person, over a cup of coffee in one of our favorite places. Write!

And finally, your Principality of Monaco in three words - is this ...?

Sea, mountains, sun. This is what I do not stop smiling every day.

Difficulty of presentation

The target audience

All who cannot be realized in this or that sphere and “skip” life for years.

The book offers solutions on how to make changes and stop engaging in procrastination. The author offers an effective plan that will help solve the problem of not knowing where to start, and also shows how to get into a happy professional.

Read together

With the onset of a dead end, the boldest of us begin to do what comes to mind first in terms of logic. And these template ways drive us into a corner even more. The author identifies three stages of “postponement”:

 1. A vague feeling of an alternative path, life in draft mode, as if we were not in our place.
 2. An unrealized dream with specifics and details.
 3. Frank feeling of misfortune.

If you look into the era of the Middle Ages, we will find two main hypostases of the sin of employment: laziness and crazy fuss. Here are three dirty tricks:

 1. Overload can create the illusion of success when we turn on a frantic speed, but at the same time we are not moving towards any goal. And we just have no time to think about it.
 2. Overload can create the illusion of meaning when we daily imperceptibly miss life.
 3. Overload can narrow your horizons and create a dead end "professional tunnel." We are too much bogged down in one scenario, and when we decide to change something, it turns out that we do not know ourselves as real.

All of the above is not an appeal to change or break something abruptly. It needs inclusion, but with the adoption of management. While working in the office, we live in an established stereotype of a corporate prison and a false lack of choice, but this is precisely because we simply do not have this choice in our heads. It’s as if we live in a passive voice when they are responsible for us, develop, do something. Everything changes when we understand that we ourselves are responsible. Here it is important to learn to relate to oneself from the perspective of "I-corporation."

We feel bad because we are afraid of losing stability, but in reality it is not there, and we are only able to control ourselves in the field of our emotions, confidence and development.

Ambition is our driving force and insurance against not exchanging life for trifles. If we set one big ambitious goal, we can be sure of its long term. That is why we are taking small steps to achieve major goals. If ambition and action are not attached to the talent, nothing will come of it. The best way to grow to the heights in any field is through conscious practice.

 1. There is one thing for life.
 2. Calling comes from childhood - it is important to delve into it well.
 3. Special talent is the basis of vocation.
 4. The vocation does not live here and does not look like what we have now.
 5. If the calling is true, then we will succeed right away.

In fact, we just have to come close to something interesting for us, to go beyond the boundaries of our usual habitats. We do not have “one true calling” - we have a choice of what can become one.

When a dream lives in us, it is necessary to test it for truthfulness, that is, test it and live it. It’s not true that it’s good only where everything does not look like what we have now. Everything can turn out to be just a need to escape from a boring reality.

The point sometimes is not to help and benefit by abandoning the current sphere of employment and moving into charity or another social sphere that improves the world. This can be done in any profession - the main thing is to understand how.

Even a personal business can turn into hard labor if you do not love this business and do not burn it. Many believe that by discovering something personal, you can reach the peak of self-realization, but in reality it may turn out to be a new prison.

Interest is a peculiar state of energy exchange with work, receiving an oncoming stream, connecting to a huge battery charging in the process. Interest is a professional catalyst and insurance against bending in difficult times. A person who truly loves what he does has genuine charisma, and it doesn’t matter who he works with: a cook, a doctor or a middle manager. Interest accelerates professional growth, ignites the eye and makes us attractive to others.

To get closer to a big dream, you need to try to remake our "impossible" into something at least a little real. The author calls this step “a letter to Mars”, switching from the mode of solving the crossword puzzle to the mode of action. If you want to change your career, it is better to start with interests, planning to expand horizons and not abandoning the current sphere. You can try to study it from a different angle, as if she is not at all familiar to us.

So, we need a good and flexible plan in which there would be enough space for new information. It is open and is being completed in the process of reloading new data. The first step is our recharging.

 1. The first stage of change, called the "end", corresponds to a feeling of loss and panic.
 2. The second stage is called “between worlds” or a transition that takes time and action.
 3. The third stage of change is a “new beginning”, to which you need to survive with minimal losses. Here you should start to do something in a new role and make sure that we are not telling a bad story about ourselves.

The main mistake is the desire to deal with fears, and only then begin to act. But such a moment may never come. You can use financial savings to ensure a transition period, or start earning as soon as possible. We always have the opportunity to make money on what we can do. Waiting for the end of the crisis is not a reason to postpone actions, because we can only be responsible for our lives, and not for uncontrollable external circumstances.

We lose time when we are looking for a “real” calling, we are afraid, we are waiting for the perfect time, we are calculating the risks, we are going the wrong way, and we are preparing a safety cushion. In any of the steps listed, you can get stuck forever. It is unacceptable to connect the moment of the onset of happiness with the moment the goal is achieved, everything happens exactly the opposite. Success comes to someone who is happy and charged with the idea of doing something incendiary. And our self-realization is a long process that does not begin in the distant future, but at the moment of decision making and the first step.

Best quote

“We live in the regime of 'someday' for years, all putting off real life. But at any stage of postponement, we can decide to stop this scenario. ”

What the book teaches

We must not allow ourselves to remain in a situation of infinite weighing of a decision, since this deprives us of energy and does not give strength for further actions.

We organize our professional history in turns, building it in the process. After the end of each turn, a new reboot begins.

To enhance the likelihood that everything will turn out, the author offers four points that are obligatory for implementation: to prepare for the best, look around, live with the feeling that there are a lot of good people in the world, and keep calm for any reason.

From the editors

To change life in the right direction, you first need to choose this direction. However, it is sometimes difficult and sometimes almost impossible to do this - we are tormented by the torment of choice. Why? Where do they come from? And, most importantly, what to do with them? Look for the answer in an article by a psychologist Love Avramenko: .

Not sure where to start? Take a step, and the road will appear - the psychologist and business consultant are confident in this Olga Yurkovskaya: .

One way to get yourself into a dead end is to continue to hope for the best and turn a blind eye to facts that say that the desired result will not be. How to learn to get off the dead horse in time, explains a lawyer, athlete, traveler Sergey Ivanov: .

About the book
An inspirational book on how to decide on changes, how to gain courage, change an unloved job, stop putting off your life for later. It motivates and gives a plan to help solve the problem "I want, but I do not know where to start."

From the author
When everything is completely exhausted, the most daring of us begin to do something - as a rule, what first comes to mind seems logical and correct. Most often they act in stereotyped ways leading to a dead end. And they lose, not understanding why. And no longer try.

My task is to help you not only start the path, but also not to get lost along the way. Because the paths leading to a dead end or to a cliff look well-trodden - and they are very easy to confuse with the right ones.

In the first part of the book I will tell you “how not to”: why we have been stuck for years in the “deferred life” mode and how the most responsible and “right” of us put ourselves into a trap from which we risk never getting out.

In the second part, you will learn how the autopilot turns off and we take control. I will save you from the myth of corporate slavery, as well as from the illusion that if you do nothing, stability is guaranteed to you.

In the third part, you will understand what your ambitions are and what powerful power you have, and you will also learn that outstanding talent and high intelligence do not mean so much for success as you thought.

In the fourth part, we will talk about wrong turns and template approaches that can cost you dearly. I will talk about the trap of a true vocation, about viral dreams, about where everyone's desire to go to charity comes from, and why people can be unhappy in their own business.

In the fifth part we will go directly to the action plan. If you have a big dream, you will understand how to finally approach it. If there are no dreams and interests, you will begin to act so that you have them.

In the final, sixth part, we will deal with our favorite excuses and blocks, which we are all masters to block in our path. It will be about monetary fears, about the fear of changing something during the crisis, about other fears and how to prevent them from stopping you.

The book has practical blocks - these are techniques that work great and have been tested more than once. Also at the end of each chapter you will find a squeeze from the main thoughts and at least one stereotype that we have reloaded.

My task is to show you how the transition from the "I'm out of place" state to the state of a happy professional happens. You will understand that in practice, everything is simpler and more interesting than you thought.

Who is this book for?
This book is written for you if you have been living in the "I'm out of place, but don’t know what to do with it" mode for years. This means that you are missing your life. You do not realize your potential and do not bring into the world what you could bring.

about the author
Elena Rezanova is a specialist in the field of career strategies. It helps adult professionals understand how and where to develop further, figure out what they want, and realize their potential. Elena helps get out of the impasse and career crisis.

If there is an expert on change in the world, then this Elena Rezanova . A few years ago, her article, Lessons of Big Change, scattered across the Internet; hundreds of thousands of people read it. Elena and her husband left a successful career and a prosperous life in Moscow in order to live where they like and do what they believe in. The road of changes led her to Monaco, where she launched the author's project Life is now and advises on career strategies, and her husband realized the dream of becoming a chef in a French restaurant. We talked with Elena about big changes, about coaching, a personal brand and the happiness of being in our place.

- How did you become an expert on career strategies? Which way did this precede?

- I was a talent manager in an international corporation. Before that, I had my own business, also very cool, and also about the development of people. I also worked in recruiting. And at the beginning of her career, she was a journalist who wrote about the professionals and professions in the Omsk newspaper “I want to work!” The points connected - but at the time of my reboot I didn’t think so. I considered my previous career as a heap of not always logical big decisions and wanted to move away from the sphere of human development as far as possible. I even learned to travel writer and photographer.

But in the process of my own reset with Roma (Roman is Elena’s husband, CC note) I kept catching myself thinking that in practice it was not at all what seemed on the shore, before the start. None of the recommendations received work. And when we abandoned the original plans and began to act differently, it all worked.

But the idea that people who want change and read books about it will lose a ton of nerve cells, because nobody, like us, will tell them how it really is, they did not leave me. And once again thinking “eh, if I knew in advance what it is” I thought - probably it’s worth doing it. And then everything grew together - all my experience, all my trainings, even all the stuffed bumps came in handy.

In my profession, the most important nuance is my own experience of change. Not one of the most expensive courses in which I invested has given me even a tenth of what I am professionally cool now.

I believe in experts. I don’t even take up cases if a person has no ambitions to become a super-pro in the topic that he will choose. A super-pro means not only a knowledge base, but also its own success.

- Do you think the trend for downshifting has passed? What problems are they coming to you now?

- Most often downshifting is just a period. Pause. It is necessary for a person to breathe, to restore strength and ambition. Those who do not return to the active creative stage simply remain in that small comfort zone that they managed to create for themselves. So-so life, in my opinion. A very closed ego-space, without goals, without meaning. Just comfort. I can hardly imagine my clients in this format for a long time. As a rule, they need to rest, recover. And the blood boils again.

Downshifting is just a period. Pause. It is necessary for a person to breathe, to restore strength and ambition.

Successful professionals come to me. They're cool. They proved to everyone and themselves that they CAN. I call it "completed the first success program." And now they have a plateau. Ceiling. Swamp. They need to see a new vector and a new goal. And make the most of your potential. They have been so busy all this time that they have not asked what they want, who they are, what is the point, and what they want to do in this life.

- Not all of my clients are public people. I will tell for example about Dasha Kalashnikova. She worked in various international banks, was engaged in customer service, grew in this area. She grew up to be a serious expert. It seems like you should have been happy. But for some reason this did not bring due satisfaction.

She needed to deal with herself. What we did. In the end, she decided that she would have two projects. The first, Baoboks, she started when she was still working at the bank. Baoboks are personalized hand-made gifts. For example, when Dasha sent me such a box, there was a gingerbread in it with lavender painted on it, a handmade notebook Life is now, a figurine made of felt - a copy of my pet, etc. Everything was chosen personally for me and made with great love.

The second project is the private practice of a consultant on the strategies of customer service Think as a client. It is interesting and important for her that small Russian companies that do not have a budget for hiring qualified consultants on client experience in the state can use their services. She works not only with companies, but also private entrepreneurs, owners of copyright projects.

The result of our work - the client understands himself, understands what works for him and how. He understands how to be with himself.

By the way, not all of my clients leave their companies. Many remain, but do the system setup. They use their potential more. They understand what they want today and what they will strive for further.

- How long can this process take?

- It just takes about 6-7 sessions to simply deal with yourself, which is about 2 months of work. But then it depends. If it comes to tuning, then this happens pretty quickly, 3-4 sessions. And if we are talking about leaving for a new area, then, of course, it takes much more time. But if the direction is chosen correctly, then from the first steps this path will be high for you.

PRO COACHING. WHO IT NEEDS AND HOW IT WORKS

- Although you are not a coach, I’m interested in your opinion on coaching. What is a coach?

A coach is a universal soldier, you can come to him with any question and he will help him deal with it using his techniques. The coach proceeds from the idea that a person himself can find the answer. A career is an area where a person may not contain answers in himself. Here you need an outside view, experience is needed.

- When should you go to the coach?

- You should contact a coach when you need someone to ask you smart questions. When you feel like walking around the bush, understanding your priorities, but you cannot formulate them. When you need to build thinking in a certain way.

- What is the responsibility of the coach and client? Who is responsible for the result?

- The person is responsible for the result. Coaching is a tool. Imagine you bought a motivating book, tried to apply the techniques described in it, but you didn’t succeed. You will not write angry letters to the author. You have been given the tools, and how you handle them is up to you.

- Now there are a lot of life coaches, consultants, and just bloggers who help people change their lives. How to choose a competent specialist among all this diversity?

- Do not look at the crusts. Look at a person’s own experience, at his success now, and generally look at whether his model of the world suits you. After all, getting advice and following it is only from someone who is personally important to you and whom you trust.

And do not be too lazy to talk with someone who worked with him and who helped.

- Who does not need the help of specialists of this kind?

- I dont know. I believe that everyone needs a mentor - I always choose a person for myself whose thoughts cause me my own insights. This is often one of my clients, because these are very cool people, businessmen, experts in their topics, after our sessions I sit down and write down my own insights. But I don’t have a coach, although at different times there were professional mentors. This is a very expensive pleasure, but it was worth it.

ABOUT PERSONAL BRAND AND HAPPINESS TO BE IN YOUR PLACE

- Now everyone is talking about the importance of creating a personal brand, how do you feel about this trend? Do you build your own personal brand?

- I have no time to build it and I am very ashamed that everyone is talking, and I do not have any branding strategy. But he is needed - of course! - First of all, in order to correctly convey your meaning. And so that my people come to me, and not mine ignore me. I do everything intuitively. I just say what I think, try to share more often and remain myself. Now all brand managers want to hug me and cry, I know, I know .

- How do you feel about publicity in the social. networks? What will you never share with your audience?

- I have already shared everything, and I take it calmly - although after the very first publication, of the same article, “Lessons from the Big Changes” in Live Interestingly, I received not only a positive response. But also terrible comments and letters. I even wrote to Armen Petrosyan for advice. He said that sometimes they write to him, and I calmed down. The whole world does not have to love me, but people are all different.

- How is your day? Are there any tricks that help you maintain a high level of energy?

- I see in practice that when we find ourselves on our own, we adapt to our own format. That is, for some time we have been watching how we work, how we restore energy, etc. At first, we can be very unproductive and not understand what is wrong. And then we figure out how to plan, how to build your day.

When we find ourselves on our own, we adapt to our own format.

Now I have two types of working days during the week. The first is the day when I have sessions and the second when there are no sessions. These days are conceptually different. On days when I have 3-4 sessions, maximum five per week. Usually this is 3 sessions a day, less often 4. I have a peak of activity in the first half of the day, after 4 hours I try not to plan anything serious.

In the morning I get out of the house to go for a run or just take a walk. If this day is without sessions, then I get out to nature for half a day, take a notebook, pen and go to the mountains. I ask myself a question, for example, what to write the next article about or how to build a new webinar. During the walk, I have new, fresh thoughts, I write them down and move on. It works really cool for me. I spend the second part of such a day at the workplace, write articles, prepare for sessions, etc.

I figured out with myself, decoded how everything works for me. But not the fact that this will work for another. You need to observe yourself, to experiment.

Because when we are in a corporate environment, our day is planned for us. And here time, you in open space, should set tasks for itself, to report to itself. It is not simple.

“Are you a happy person?” What is happiness for you?

- For the entire time of our departure from the hard shore into the unknown, Roma and I often said the same phrase to ourselves: "We made it for ourselves." Most often, the phrase had tragic shades. It’s hard to complain, but it’s not brought us here by the current, but they themselves sailed. And then the tragic shades were replaced by more and more positive. And now we say it with a smile.

By myself, I do not mean that without the help and support of people. The thing is that we ourselves are driving. This is a strong feeling. I don’t know if something can be stronger. The feeling that you live your life, and not write a draft.

Without this, I could not be a happy person. Although - and this may seem strange at first glance - I have never been an unhappy person either. But there is complete self-realization, but there is simply a positive approach to life. Now I have both.

- What does it mean to you to be in your place?

- Live where you like and do what you believe in. When I was out of place, I always had the feeling that somewhere nearby was my life. She is, but has not yet begun. And I have not yet taken a single step to get it started. There was a feeling of an unplanned life. But as soon as I took the first step, it disappeared. There was a feeling that you were in your place. Yes, you are mistaken, you can be scared, there are periods of ups and downs. With all this happens. But at the same time you do not leave the feeling that you live your life. And an unbeatable alternative does not exist.
