The Crimean coast annually attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists from Russia and other countries of the world with its resorts. The most comfortable option to get to the magnificent beaches and the warm sea is air travel. The key air harbor of Crimea is the Simferopol International Airport.

Where is the airport in Simferopol?

Simferopol Airport has a very good location. It has been moved far enough outside the city - to the urban-type settlement Aeroflot, but it’s not difficult to get to it, because it is only 12 km from the center. This route is most convenient for Aeroexpress. Buses and trolleybuses united by this brand leave for the city around the clock with an interval of 10 minutes.

Terminal on the map of Crimea

History and infrastructure

Simferopol Airport began to count its history back in 1936, when, by decision of the USSR Council of Ministers, land was allotted for the construction of an airfield, which soon began to receive flights from Moscow.

In 1957, an airport terminal was built here, a dirt runway equipped with signal lights was created. The first concrete runway appeared in 1960. Interestingly, in the mid-80s. the airborne harbor was chosen as the reserve for landing the Buran space shuttles. Especially for them, the dimensions of the landing strip were increased to 3700 m. In May 2015, it was reconstructed and now meets international standards. Today, another terminal and runway are under construction, which is scheduled to be completed by May 2018.

Today, the terminal complex of Simferopol Airport includes two terminals, one of which receives Aeroflot aircraft operating domestic and international flights, and the second serves other Russian carriers. The building also houses a comfortable VIP-hall, a room for mother and child. Passengers are ready to feed in and several cafes. In the departure areas there are shops, airline offices, and in the arrival departments there are mobile operator points, a help desk and taxi booking points. Walking distance to 35 rooms. Cargo transshipment is carried out in a special terminal.

The administration of the complex makes every effort to make it more comfortable. There are all conditions for serving passengers with disabilities. For registration of children's groups, special stands are allocated.

Served Destinations

Today, Simferopol Airport is one of the most dynamically developing transport hubs in the country. In 2016, it served more than 5.2 million passengers carried by 14 Russian airlines. Constant air communication is established with 9 cities of the Russian Federation. Another 15 destinations are added to the holiday season, thanks to which direct flights get the opportunity for residents of various regions of Russia. Here are the main points of departure:

Air traffic between Simferopol and Sochi is carried out throughout the year. On transit routes - with a change in Moscow or St. Petersburg - residents of Kazan, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod and Orenburg can get to Simferopol Airport. In the summer, the capital of Crimea accepts charters from Krasnoyarsk, Kemerovo, Irkutsk, Omsk, Khabarovsk, Ufa, Perm, Chelyabinsk and many other cities of Russia. Seasonality affects the price level, but they remain quite affordable for most Russians. You can save extra money if you buy tickets in advance and pay for a round trip at once.

Online departure and arrival board

Modern technologies allow tourists and business citizens located anywhere in the world to stay abreast of all the changes that the Simferopol airport makes to the schedule. The online departure and arrival board is an ideal tool for planning a trip to the resorts of Crimea. With it, you can find out when the departure will take place in the desired direction, as well as details of the arrival. The Simferopol Airport online scoreboard is now available on our website, here it is:

Simferopol Airport is the main air gate of the Crimea (and not only air - at the moment, most tourists get to the peninsula by plane). In April 2018, a new terminal of the airport terminal was launched, and this created new difficulties with the transfer of tourists. In this article we will tell you how terminal-1 of the airport in Simferopol is arranged, as well as how to get to different cities of Crimea with a bus schedule and ticket prices.

The new airport terminal in Simferopol opened the doors for guests of the peninsula on April 16, 2018. On the same day, he first took the board from the mainland. The facility was built in two years, and 32 billion rubles were spent on its construction.

The need to update the Simferopol airport has been obvious since 2014, when in just one year the old terminal had to service 2.8 million people, and after another year, the passenger flow increased to 5 million people. Of course, the old terminal was reconstructed, increasing its capacity by two and a half times, and when this did not help, it was decided to build a new terminal building. And now the new terminal will be able to serve 3,650 passengers per hour, which will amount to 6.5 million people per year.

By the way, the new terminal is located quite far from the old. It is located 6 kilometers from the village of Ukromnoe. It takes about 10 minutes to get here from the old terminal by public transport. Here is the new Simferopol Airport on the map:

How the new terminal of Simferopol airport is equipped: photos and video

Simferopol Airport is now modern not only in technical terms, but also in design. Externally, the building looks like a huge wave (one of its “popular” names sounds that way - the Volna airport in Simferopol). Simferopol Airport has already been dubbed the most modern and stylish in Russia. The floor in the exit zones reminds of the relief of the Crimea, which, according to the architect's intention, sets the person to rest from the very first minutes. One wall with an area of \u200b\u200b1600 square meters. m is decorated with a beautiful composition of artificial and living plants, and in one of the recreation areas of passengers there is a large map of the peninsula made of colored moss. This is the largest installation in Europe. In the near future, a hotel, a conference center and a park with an artificial lake will be built next to the terminal building.

In our gallery you can see photos of the new airport in Simferopol. In the meantime, we offer a video from the opening:

Advantages of the new terminal compared to the old one: why it’s now more convenient to fly in and fly out of Crimea

The designers of the new terminal thought out everything possible for the convenience of passengers.

  • The most important thing for vacationers is to minimize the time spent on the flight. And if you had to drive 15-20 minutes from the old terminal to the runway, now this time will be reduced to several minutes. For the convenience of passengers, there are 8 telescopic ramps and 8 exits to buses; in addition, 55 check-in counters are organized.
  • To distinguish between flows and reduce landing time for pedestrians and different types of transport, separate lanes are provided, and on different sides of the terminal there are two parking lots for buses. One works for the arrival hall, the other for the departure hall.
  • Now it will be possible to get to the sea faster, because the Tavrida highway connects to the airport, you can go around Simferopol on it, saving time up to an hour and a half.
  • Baggage claim in the old terminal was a problem, but now there are five baggage carousels with a total length of two kilometers, which guarantees the receipt of five thousand pieces of baggage per hour simultaneously with 25 flights.
  • The top floor of the terminal has a terrace with views of the mountains and the runway. Access to this site is open to all.
  • Inside the building there are 16 escalators and 28 elevators, restaurants and fast food cafes, two bank branches, a beauty salon and a pharmacy.

Scheme of the new terminal of the airport "Simferopol"

The building has four floors:

  • On the ground floor there are check-in counters for flights and information desks, an arrival hall, elevators and escalators.
  • The second floor is occupied by a VIP lounge, a common waiting room area, a mother and child rest room.
  • On the third floor there is a veterinary control service, inspection rooms and an exit area for boarding the plane.
  • The fourth floor is dedicated to a playground, a business room and a terrace with wonderful mountain views.

Where to park the car at the Simferopol airport, parking cost

Short-term and long-term parking lots are arranged near the terminal, in May the payment will be: for short-term - 100 rubles per hour and the first 15 minutes for free, for long-term - 600 rubles for the first day, 500 rubles for the second, and then 100 rubles per day. It is possible that soon the airport management will raise prices. VIP passengers use their own parking and entrance to the terminal building.

How to get and leave Simferopol Airport by public transport

The new terminal of the Simferopol airport was opened only in April, so for now, tourists (and residents of the peninsula) can easily get confused about how to leave the airport terminal.

Please note: public transport runs to both the new and the old terminal, however, planes only fly in and out from the new one. A bus station continues to operate in the old terminal. Most of the buses leaving the bus stations of Crimean cities come here. To get from the old terminal to the new one, you need to take bus number 77, it runs every 10 minutes. You can also use the services of taxi drivers - they will bring for 100-150 rubles. We do not recommend walking on foot - the distance is very large.

So, we list what public transport is available in the new terminal of Simferopol Airport.

  • You can get to the new terminal by city trolleybus No. 17, night express train No. 20 (from the railway station).
  • From here there are buses No. 49 (from Maryino) and No. 49-A (from Trenev Park).
  • From the square in front of the airport there are Fly & Bus buses that will deliver arriving passengers to any city of Crimea according to a convenient schedule, which was compiled taking into account the arrived flights.

Now consider each option in more detail.

Where can I get from the new airport terminal by trolley bus?

There are two trolleybus routes from the new terminal:

  • No. 17 “Khoshkeldy - Airport”: the interval of movement is 15-30 minutes, it works from 5.16 to 22.15. This way you will be able to get to Simferopol: the bus will proceed almost half a city. But the train station and bus station will not call.
  • No. 20 “Railway station - Airport” is an exclusively night way of transportation: from the railway station - at 00.54 and 2.00, from the new terminal - at 00.00 and 2.45, from the old terminal - at 1.24 (although it is promised that in summer the number of flights will be increased )

Attention: routes from the old terminal.

One of the attractions of Crimea was the unique trolleybus routes connecting Simferopol, Alushta and Yalta. Fortunately, they survived - however, they are now departing from the old terminal. Recall that getting here from the new Simferopol Airport is very simple - just take bus number 77.

So, if you want to get to the resorts of Crimea on a trolley bus, enjoying the beautiful views, remember the numbers:

  • No. 54 “Airport - Alushta”,
  • No. 55 “Airport - Yalta”.

By the way, other trolleybuses also go from here: No. 9 to the City Hospital.

How to leave the terminal 1 of the airport in Simferopol by bus?

There are two buses to Simferopol from the new terminal:

  • No. 49 to Maryino. He calls in at the railway station. Opening hours - from 06.00 to 23.30. Interval of movement - about 20 minutes.
  • No. 49-A to the park to them. Treneva. This is a night route. He travels from 22.00 to 05.00. Interval of movement - 60 minutes.

Attention: routes from the old terminal .

Having reached the old terminal, you can "catch" a lot more buses!

First of all, urban public transport routes. From the old terminal of the Simferopol airport there are buses:

No. 97 - to the Pnevmatiki microdistrict (calls at the railway station);

No. 98 - to the street Kantar in the village of Fontany (calls at the railway station);

No. 100 - to the village of Kamenka.

But the main thing - from the old terminal you can quickly and inexpensively get to almost any settlement of the Crimea! You can buy tickets right on the spot.

Important life hack! You can get to some cities by transit buses! For example, all flights leaving the airport to Sevastopol pass through Bakhchisarai (until the Tavrida highway is ready). Check with the operator - maybe you can get to your city on indirect flights. There is also the opportunity to travel cheaply with transfers - for example, from Sevastopol to Balaklava, and buses run regularly from Yalta to Alupka and other cities of Big Yalta.

A new way to leave the airport - Fly & Bus

Especially for the new terminal of Simferopol Airport, in 2019 a new transportation method was introduced - Fly & Bus express trains. This is the official carrier of the airport "Simferopol". By bus you can get to the following settlements:

  • Alushta;
  • from. Cypress, stop complex "village of Cypress";
  • Gurzuf, stop complex "Krasnokamenka village";
  • Yalta;
  • Livadia;
  • Gaspra;
  • Koreiz;
  • Simeiz;
  • Sevastopol
  • Saki
  • Saki, sanatorium "Poltava-Crimea";
  • Evpatoria;
  • Evpatoria, sanatorium "Gold Coast";
  • Evpatoria, sanatorium "Tavria".

The main advantage of such a transfer is simplicity. Buses approach the platform near the new terminal of the Simferopol airport; you don’t have to make transfers or go to the old terminal. Fly & Bus buses are air-conditioned, so the ride will be enjoyable. You can book tickets in advance - and if you transfer or delay the flight, you will be exchanged for them without any problems. There are also disadvantages - primarily the price. A ticket will cost at least 400 rubles. This is two times more expensive than if you arrive at the bus or train station in Simferopol or at the old terminal and take tickets to the bus station of the city you need from there. But, nevertheless, this method of transfer is many times more profitable than a taxi.

Important: most likely, the situation in the summer months will be corrected, but as of May 2019, it was far from all the flights announced in the Fly & Bus schedule that could leave the new airport in Simferopol. Apparently, if there are few passengers on arriving flights, buses leave less often.

How expensive is it to take a taxi from Simferopol airport?

On average, prices are 5-10 times higher than if you go by bus (depending on the remoteness of the destination city). Unfortunately, taxi drivers in the new airport terminal in Simferopol are very intrusive and do not always tell the truth (for example, they say that the nearest bus will be in many hours). That is why our advice is to pre-order a taxi at the right time or call it when you are already at the airport.

Uber and other taxi services, which you most likely are used to using in your city, do not work in Crimea. You will have to use the services of local services, which overwhelmingly do not have mobile applications.

We list the most reliable taxi services in Crimea:

  • UP-taxi: +7 978 700-04-01;
  • Taxi Simferopol: +7 978 139-43-03;
  • Taxi Crimea: +7 978 209-09-19;
  • Crimea Taxi: +7 978 215-58-48.

The best way to get to any city of Crimea from Simferopol airport

The cheapest way to leave the new terminal of Simferopol Airport to any city in Crimea is by bus or trolleybus. The trip will cost 200-500 rubles. There is only one “but”: you have to make a few transfers. So, first you need to get to the old terminal, and already there you board the necessary bus. If buses from the old terminal do not go to your village, we recommend that you take a bus from the new terminal to the railway or bus station in Simferopol. These are full-fledged transport centers, from where buses travel to any cities of Crimea.

The best way for tourists who do not want to make transfers is Fly & Bus buses. Tickets for them can be booked online or purchased locally (ticket offices are in the baggage claim area). The trip will cost more, but you do not have to change several vehicles with suitcases.

    What to do if the flight is canceled

    If the flight was canceled more than 24 hours before departure, then passengers are transferred to similar flights of the airline. The costs are borne by the carrier, for the passenger the service is free. If none of the options offered by the airline suits you, most airlines may have a “forced return”. After confirmation of the airline, the money will be returned to your account. Sometimes it can take several weeks.

    How to check in at the airport

    Online check-in is available on the websites of most airlines. Most often, it opens 23 hours before the flight. You can go through it no later than 1 hour before departure.

    To check in at the airport you will need:

    • the identity card specified in the order
    • birth certificate when traveling with children,
    • printed itinerary receipt (optional).
  • What you can take on a plane

    Carry-on items are the things you take with you to the cabin. The norm of weight of hand luggage can vary from 5 to 10 kg, and its size most often should not exceed the sum of three measurements (length, width and height) from 115 to 203 cm (depending on the airline). Ladies' bag does not belong to hand luggage and is carried freely.

    The bag that you take with you on the plane should not have knives, scissors, drugs, aerosols, or cosmetics. Alcohol from duty free shops can only be transported in sealed bags.

    How to pay baggage at the airport

    If the weight of baggage exceeds the norms established by the airline (most often - 20-23 kg), you need to pay for each kilogram of excess. In addition, many Russian and foreign airlines, as well as low-cost airlines, have tariffs that do not include free baggage allowance and must be paid separately as an additional service.

    Baggage must be checked in at the airport at a separate Drop-off check-in counter. If you cannot print your boarding pass, you can get it at the airline’s usual check-in counter, and check in and check in your luggage there.

    Where to find out your arrival time if you are meeting

    You can find out the aircraft arrival time on the airport's online scoreboard. The Tutu.ru website has an online scoreboard of the main Russian and foreign airports.

    You can find out the exit number (gate) on the arrival board at the airport. This number is located next to the information about the arriving flight.

Simferopol Airport online scoreboard controls departure and arrival flights for today and tomorrow, take-off and landing are indicated in local time. The display of information may be delayed, although the data is synchronized with the terminal department. The site is not responsible for the inaccuracy of information.

Simferopol Airport: online flight schedule

Do not forget that the general schedule is prepared in advance and covers a large time interval, which affects its accuracy. Simferopol Airport on the scoreboard displays current information online about arrival and departure for today, which is why the most relevant information from the online scoreboard will be. The timetable of Simferopol Airport and the online scoreboard will be useful for navigating on flights, searching for tickets and when building a route for a transfer.

The scheme and infrastructure of the airport Simferopol

The four-story building accommodates 55 registration desks, 8 mobile ramps, 8 approaches to passenger buses, 16 escalator mechanisms and 28 elevators. For people with disabilities, there is no barrier zone for convenience and comfortable service within the walls of the airport. The second floor has a control inspection area and a sterile area. At the airport there are many catering establishments, bank branches, drugstores and boutiques. Thus, passengers can get the maximum number of services without going beyond the terminal.
