Yalunwan in China on the map. Yalunwan Bay, Hainan - Chinese Bounty?

Yalongwan Bay in Hainan has long been popular with holidaymakers and there are several reasons for this. The beaches are clean and well-groomed, I constantly process them with special means from annoying insects. Wide beach 7 km long, calm sea with clear water. This is an ideal place for those who like to swim underwater and explore the underwater world. In addition, the resort is famous for its unique medical centers for treatment, rehabilitation and preventive examinations.

Yalongwan Bay (aka Yalong Bay) is located in the southern part of Hainan Island. The tourist town of Sanya is only 25 km away. The bay is one of the picturesque places on the island, which locals consider the "First Bay of the Celestial Empire."

How to get there

Access to the bay will not be difficult, since it can be done either by public transport, by taxi or transfer, by personal car. You can also get there by train, but you will need to get about 8 km to the resort itself from the railway station.

From Meilan Airport (located in the northern part of the island) can be reached by bus or taxi in 1 hour 40 minutes. The average fare (depending on transport) is 90 yuan.

Most often, tourists get by bus. It is both safe and inexpensive. Those who flew to Phoenix Airport can take flight number 27. From it to Yalongwan 32 km. Those who travel from Sanya to Yalongwan must travel 22 km (in about 40 minutes).

From Dadonghai you need to get 25 or 15 by bus. They also ply through the central part of Sanya.

You can also get to Yalunwan by train, but you need to check in advance at the station at the departure point whether the train stops here.

When is the best time to go?

Weather in the resort of Yalongwan allows you to relax here all year round. The highest daily temperature here is from May to August - +32 - + 33 ° С, the lowest from December to February - +21 - + 22 ° С. As for the water temperature, in the summer it reaches +29 - + 30 ° С. The lowest rates in winter are +21 - + 23 ° C.

Even if the weather is not ideal for swimming in the sea, there are plenty of cultural and natural attractions to visit.

The beaches of Yalunwan are located 7 km away and it is not in vain that they are considered the most popular in these places, because there is a wide strip of coast, quartz sand, calm sea and clear water. Around palm trees that create good shade and mangroves. There is no special change of course, since 5 small islands protect it from the coast, located opposite it. The southern part of the bay is surrounded by beautiful cliffs.

The beach is very popular among tourists and locals, but it can’t be called crowded, because its size can accommodate a large number of vacationers. Crystal-clear water (visibility up to 15 meters) and coral reefs, which, in addition, provide an opportunity to go diving, give a special picturesque location.

It is considered an elite tourist area of \u200b\u200bHainan. The sea in this bay is almost always calm, which makes it a great place to relax with children. Yalongwan is the most expensive and prestigious resort in Hainan! Locals call this place "Yaochi" - a paradise on earth.

The length of the coastline of Yalong Bay beach is 20 kilometers. The color of the water here is more azure than in Dadonghai and Sanya. Most tourists rest here, therefore there are much fewer people on the beach than on Dadonghai beach, where locals like to relax. •    Tours to Hainan for 11 days from 41,750

    Last-minute tour to China to Hainan (Dadonghai Bay, China) for 11 nights (January 17 - January 28) for 41,750 to the Biboluo Hotel 3 *.

Hainan Island is washed from all sides by the South China Sea, which, as you know, is located in the Pacific Ocean. The three largest bays of the island are Sanya Bay, Dadonghai and Yalongwan. I will tell you about the beaches in these bays.

I must say right away that all the beaches on the island are public, so there is no division of them into types or types. That is, for example, the beach of Yalongwan Bay is one very long beach with a length of several kilometers.

Sanya Bay Beach

Most Chinese and Europeans rest in this bay, there are very few Russians.

Sanya Bay has the longest beach on the island, with a length of about 11 kilometers. It starts from the End of the World park, runs near the airport, along residential buildings and hotels, ending near the artificial Phoenix island.

The beach is sandy, the entrance to the sea too. The sand is light gray, almost white, very dense, which is especially pleasing to children, because such sand makes excellent castles! And on it you can ride on the great and motor rickshaws, and the wheels will not even bog. On the beach there are a lot of small crabs that run on the sand, making minks in it.

The coastline is very wide. There is enough space on it for fans of active games, and for those who prefer to lie on the warm sand, and for those who want to walk along the sea at sunset.

There is a free shower and toilet on the beach. For umbrellas and sunbeds belonging to a "not yours" hotel, they may sometimes be asked to pay (the price is about 3-4 dollars or 20-30 yuan), sometimes they are allowed to relax on them for free. Apparently, it depends on the mood of the one who is on duty at the beach.

Rescuers are always watching vacationers.

It cannot be said that the sea here is transparent, because fine sand always hangs in the water. The color of the water is dark blue, even closer to gray. In this bay, the water resembles the Black Sea.

Palm trees and other trees grow along the coast. There are benches and tables under them so that the locals can relax, for example during lunch, or just hide from the bright sun.

In the morning on the beach you can see those who practice yoga, in the afternoon old people gather here and learn all kinds of dances, wedding ceremonies and photo sessions are often held at sunset. In the evening, a lot of young people gather in numerous cafes located directly on the sand. They are similar to our “summer cafes” in the parks, only much more and besides the “bar” they also have a “kitchen”. During the day, the "week" is usually closed, but with the sunset literally ten to twenty steps from the water, plastic tables with chairs are placed in the sand and the cafe starts its work. The food is only Chinese; instead of the menu there is a huge poster with pictures of the finished dish and its price. For example, a serving of glass noodle with shrimp costs about $ 4 (35 yuan).

All the beaches in this bay are located across from the hotels. But there is nothing terrible and dangerous, because near each hotel there is a ground pedestrian crossing, that is, you can safely cross the road. Some hotels have an underpass, such as the Pullman Hotel.

From Yalongwan and Dadonghai bays to the beach, you can come by buses No. 25, 26. Traveling from one bay to another costs about $ 1 (from 5 to 10 yuan depending on the distance). You can come by taxi, then payment will be on the counter. From Dadonghai to Sanya Bay to go 10-15 minutes, and from Yalongwan about 40-50 minutes. These buses travel along the sea, so you can get out at any place you like. To be on the beach you only need to cross the road.

Dadonghai Bay Beach

This bay fell in love with Russian tourists.

The beach in Dadonghai is only 4 kilometers long. It is located between two mountains, so it seems to me that in winter the water here should be slightly warmer than in the Sanya and Yalunvan bays.

The sand is small, light, crumbly, and not dense, as in Sanya Bay, you can no longer ride a motor rickshaw or a bicycle on it.

The entrance to the sea is sandy, gently sloping almost everywhere. But in some places, the coastal bottom was washed away by waves, and rather deep pits formed near the shore. A little blue water, transparent, with a suspension of sand near the shore. Sometimes, with strong waves from the sea, it brings to the shore small pebbles and shells.

The beach has free sunbeds, umbrellas, showers and toilets. There are lifeguards near the main entrance to the beach (next to the Intime Hotel).

But there are no palm trees on the shore, so you can’t hide in their shadow. There are a lot of cafes near the beach, mainly with Russian names: “Kievan Rus”, “At Lena”, “USSR” and others. The cuisine is primarily Russian and European, and only then Chinese. Prices are quite affordable: borscht (by the way, very similar to the real one) costs about 1.5-2 dollars (10-12 yuan).

In the afternoon, the beach in Dadonghai is lively and noisy, pearls, souvenirs and fruit traders walk along it, crowds of noisy Chinese people who like to talk loudly, build sand castles and take pictures walk and relax.

A violinist plays on the beach near the Resort Intime hotel, it is very pleasant to relax and lie on a warm sand to his music. But in the evening it is quiet on the beach, because the cafes are not directly on the sand, but a little further, so that the noise of the conversations of visitors is not heard, and you can walk along the shore in silence.

Hotels located on the first coastline have their own territory on the beach, but it is not fenced. Since the state owns all the beaches, no one will ever drive you from the sunbeds, even if they belong to a hotel in which you do not live. So you can freely move around the beach and sit on any places you like.

You can get to the beach of Dadonghai Bay from Sanya Bay by bus No. 2, 4, 8; to go about 10-20 minutes. From Yalongwan - No. 15, 25, 29, 24; the road will take 40-50 minutes. The fare will cost $ 1 (5-10 yuan); if by taxi, then payment by meter. Stop "Dadonghai Bay" or "Summer Mall". From any stop to the beach go 5-10 minutes, you can go through the territory of any hotel of the first line.

Yalongwan Bay Beach

This is the most expensive and luxurious bay on the island. Here, people who prefer a quiet and serene beach vacation relax.

The sea in the bay is very calm, so the water is clean and clear. In some places, the bottom is visible at a depth of 7-10 meters.

The length of the beach is about 7 kilometers, the width of the coastline is 50 meters. The sand is light, soft and warm.

On the beach, everything disposes to complete relaxation: there are no noisy merchants, cafes, fuss and screams. Local residents practically do not come here. For me, it’s just too quiet and deserted here.

A little livelier near the Lan Resort hotel, because there you can rent diving equipment, ride a banana and other beach attractions:

  1. diving will cost from 65 to 140 dollars (450 to 900 yuan). The programs are different: a sunken ship, coral reefs, professional diving;
  2. riding a scooter (only with an instructor) - $ 23 (150 yuan) in 15 minutes;
  3. ride a banana - $ 15 or 150 yuan;
  4. fishing on a boat - $ 60 or 400 yuan, on a specially equipped boat - $ 153 (1,000 yuan);
  5. boat trip with a transparent bottom boat (to view the seabed) - $ 33 (220 yuan).

On the first coastline are five-star chain hotels with “their own beach”. It is equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers and always has its own rescue station. But, as I have already said, these are only conventions, of course, there is no territorial division. Relax and swim in the place you want.

For sunbeds have to pay from 4 to 7 dollars (30 to 50 yuan); the cost depends on proximity to water: the closer to the sea, the more expensive. Showers and toilets are free.

If you live in a different bay, then you can get to Yalongwan beach for 5-10 yuan by bus No. 15, 25, 29 (they go from Sanya via) or by taxi - payment by meter. The price of the bus and taxi depends on the distance of the trip. From Sanya Bay to go about 40-50 minutes, from Dadonghai 20-30. It is better to get out on the Central Square, from here it is easiest to get to the beach.

You can ride a bus or taxi. Within its bay (Yalunvan) it is very cheap - 8-10 yu, at night 15-20 yu. Taxi drivers give change, watch that the counter works. So that when landing, the counter is reset to zero. We went to Dadonghai on Pedestrian street by taxi. 68 yu were paid on the counter, 80 yu back.

I post the schedule and numbers of buses (photo from the Hainan guidebook edited by Lola and Bogdan Pilsudski. The guide costs 38 yu, you can buy it in a store near the Butterfly Park opposite the hotel.

I also post detailed instructions on how to get yourself by train to the zoo safari (or just to Haikou)

The high-speed trains of the latest type CRH380A were put into operation on the high-speed railway Haikou-Sanya-Haikou, after tests during which this train accelerated to 400 km / h. The CRH380A train is designed for an operating speed of 350 km / h, with a maximum operating speed of 380 km / h. The original 8-car train can reach a speed of 416.6 km / h. At first, the speed of the new train will not exceed 250 km / h, in the future, this type of train will run between Haikou and Sanya at an average speed of 350 km / h.

You can get to the capital of Haikou from Hainan from Sanya by bus and train.

A bus ticket costs 60 yuan. A train ticket costs 88 -114 yuan. You need to get a ticket to the East Station. A regular ticket costs 88 yuan to Haikou East Station. But it’s more comfortable to travel on class 1 tickets, the cost is 95 yuan.

Both buses and trains run every 30 minutes from 7am to 10pm. The bus takes about 4 hours. From April 01, 2011 high-speed trains Haikou-Sanya-Haikou run every 20-25 minutes, travel time 50 minutes.

From Haikou to Sanya   is a train with numbers D7349, D7351, D7353, D7355, D7357, D7359, D7361, D7363,

and from Sanya to Haikouare trains with numbers D7350, D7352, D7354, D7356, D7358, D7360, D7362, D7364.

The station is located to the west of Sanya 10 km. Buses No. 4 and No. 10 go to the station. A ticket costs 1 yuan. If you go to the station by taxi from the city center 25-30 yuan, from Sanyavan Bay 18-20 yuan, from Dadonghai Bay 35-40 yuan, from Yalunwan Bay 60-70 yuan.

People who live in Yalunwan Bay do not have to go to the station. 15 minutes from Yalunwan Bay near Tian Du, there is a station (the station is called 亚龙湾), where you can buy tickets. The only thing is that not every train at the station stops, you need to look at the schedule which stops.
  All station signs are duplicated in English. There are always a lot of Chinese people at the ticket office at the train station, but let it not scare you, there are vending machines for tickets, there is an English interface there. Everything is very clear. And there are almost no Chinese in line. The only minus return tickets can not be immediately bought at all either at the machine or at the box office. Return tickets must be bought at the box office at the train station in Haikou, it is better to buy tickets in advance.

Now on to the Dunshan Safari Zoo. It is located 30 km from the capital of the island of Haikou. There is a bus from the bus station to Dunshan. Travel time 40 minutes, fare 8 yuan. Plus time to get to the entrance to the zoo. From the station you need to get to the bus station and get on this bus. It will probably be somewhat difficult. And the minus is that you can not drive a car through the first part of the safari.

Therefore, I suggest taking a taxi from the train station. Show the taxi driver a note with the name of the zoo - safari, agree on the cost. The estimated cost is 250-300 yuan. You need to pay after the trip, usually on the counter. For the taxi driver to understand you, you need to ask the guide or at the hotel reception to write you a note in Chinese with the following words: station, Haikou East Station, Dongshan Zoo Safari, wait for you and take you from the zoo to the station.

Dongshan Zoo consists of 2 parts: in the first you drive a car and look from the car windows at different predators, lions, bears, tigers, etc. In the second part, walk, looking at monkeys, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, tiger cubs and other animals that are sitting in aviaries. You can feed these animals. Food is sold near each enclosure, approximately 5-40 yuan. There is a restaurant on site, you can have a snack there, buy ice cream, drink water or juice. While you are walking in the second part of the zoo, a taxi driver will patiently wait for you. Remember that if you let a taxi go to the zoo, there is a chance that you will spend the night there, because there will be few options to get out of there yourself. Not knowing the Chinese language is difficult even to ask for help from others, because they, the surrounding, do not know almost 100% of English.

For the price I don’t know, you will win something, and in time too. Now companies offer such an excursion at 85 dollars per person, they also began to ride the train, with a stop at Man An volcano with lunch. But independent travel, not to depend on anyone, of course, leaves a vivid lasting impression.

P.S. We went to the zoo with a guide by car. We left at 7.00 - returned at 19.00. It takes 3 hours to get there by car.
