Apartments airbnb. Airbnb - search and rental of private apartments (apartments and houses). What are analytic cookies

Today I will talk about the service, which was created in 2008 and is increasingly gaining popularity among travelers. Read also about ours in Bangkok.

You will learn how to register and book accommodation on Airbnb, how to get a coupon with a discount of $ 25, and also tell you why the service is interesting and profitable.

What is Airbnb and how does it work?

Many travelers are already accustomed to housing reservation systems, for example Booking or where you can choose a hotel to your taste and wallet in almost any country in the world. But hotels are not always the best option - sometimes it’s more convenient to rent apartments and apartments. This is what Airbnb helps with. We admit, just recently began to book accommodation through airbnb, and now we will help you figure it out too.

Airbnb is a rental of housing around the world from the owners of apartments. Housing can be either separate rooms, houses, apartments, or interesting options, such as trailers, castles and islands. Now the system already has more than 34,000 cities in 190 countries.

It turns out that Airbnb acts as an intermediary between those who want to rent their apartment, house or room and those who want to rent this housing. Naturally, a service takes a commission for such a bridge. For this fee, Airbnb comes with a financial guarantee against all kinds of troubles when you can contact the 24-hour support center and get a refund or settle other issues if something goes wrong.

What is interesting and profitable for Airbnb?

 • The service is especially relevant for expensive cities such as Singapore, Paris, other capitals and large cities where hotel prices bite. But you can rent an apartment in Airbnb for 20-40 dollars, and a decent level. For such money in some cities in hotels offer only small rooms.
 • The possibility of lively communication over a cup of tea with the owner, a conversation with which will help to get to know the country even deeper and get interesting information.
 • It is especially advantageous to rent an apartment for a large company or a family with a child, when the presence of a kitchen and separate space is very desirable. Per person, it often comes out cheaper than a hotel, even very decent apartments, the analogues of which are very expensive in hotels.
 • Booking on Airbnb is suitable for a visa, i.e. a printout of the reservation can be provided at the consulate
 • Interesting housing options, not the same type of chain hotels. For example, here.

Wherever you are going to go on vacation - whether it be Italy, Turkey or a summer residence in the suburbs, the main thing is to take a good mood with you. And then unpleasant little things, even if they are, will not be able to spoil you such a long-awaited vacation.

Airbnb - This is rental housing around the world from private individuals, with a more detailed study of the Airbnb website, the service is more like a social network like couchsurfing.com. To rent an apartment on Airbnb, you will need to register on the Airbnb website, fill out a form, and even better if your profile has recommendations. Unlike couchsurfing, airbnb rental housing costs money.

The main feature of Airbnb is the ability to rent housing around the world from private traders like you. In addition, you yourself can successfully rent your apartment through this service.

The choice of housing on Airbnb is surprising, there is everything! From the simplest housing, in the form of an old trailer, to the expensive castles in Scotland, there are both simple apartments furnished with furniture from Ikea and designer apartments in New York penthouses.

Who is Airbnb rental suitable for?

Rental housing using the Airbnb service is suitable for everyone, but those who travel in a large company or couples with children can benefit greatly.

For the first group, Airbnb saves on living in comfortable conditions. A company of travelers can rent a large house at the price of a hotel room and comfortably accommodate in it, because not every hotel will allow you to live in a six-person room, no matter how big it is.

For couples with children, housing rental on Airbnb is also very convenient, because renting an apartment or a house from local residents you get much more than a place to sleep. At Airbnb, you rent real housing with space for children to play and relax with their parents, and having a kitchen in rented housing can reduce the cost of dining at restaurants.

Airbnb rental benefits

 • Private space when booking through Airbnb. When renting apartments through Airbnb, you will be guaranteed your own personal space in the form of a garden, veranda, front lawn, etc. Almost every house on Airbnb has a kitchen, so you can always cook food at home, which is impossible to do in a hotel the room. At the cost of a room in a hotel you get a real house with everything you need.
 • Any place in the city. Since local residents rent apartments on Airbnb, the choice of the area of residence is not limited solely to tourist recreation, you can rent an apartment or a house in any area of the city and live as a local. Visit the shops, cafes, markets that are visited by all locals, this will allow you to better understand the surrounding reality. Yes, it’s just nice to be where you are not looked at as a means of making money, which can often be seen in tourist places.
 • New friends with Airbnb. As I said earlier, Airbnb service is similar to couchsurfing, they also carefully study guest profiles and may refuse if you do not like, but if you like, in most cases you will make new friends in the person of homeowners who will try to take care about you, because reputation is more important for them than money.
 • Rent what you want on Airbnb. Airbnb allows you to live in the most amazing places on planet Earth and in a wide variety of houses, castles, yachts, trailers, lighthouses, etc., everything your imagination is capable of can be a reality with Airbnb. For example, you can allow yourself to live on a private island or in an old Portuguese lighthouse, converted with the latest technology, in a word, fantasize.

Airbnb rental housing cons

 • Resellers at Airbnb. The worst thing that can happen on Airbnb is to run into intermediaries, many entrepreneurial types (personally run into the likes of Goa) impersonate the hosts, but are actually intermediaries. In Goa, this is very common, part of the local population has poor knowledge of all the wisdom of working on the Internet, and cunning mediators actively use it. As a rule, in such apartments the owners are not particularly happy with you, because the amount that they got from the intermediary does not exceed 50% of the rent, so they don’t have to rejoice. Some types go even further and mix ordinary hotel rooms under the guise of their apartment, how do you feel, choose a private house by the sea, and come to the hotel.
 • Airbnb reservations have to wait. Airbnb is designed in such a way that the owner’s confirmation is required for rental housing (unless the owner specified “instant booking” in the settings). In contrast to the usual reservation of accommodation in hotels, where everything happens very quickly, Airbnb may take some time before the final payment of the reservation.
 • Cancellation of an Airbnb reservation by the landlord. At Airbnb, the landlord has the right to cancel your reservation. It’s impossible to understand why this is happening, maybe you (your profile on Airbnb) don’t like it, maybe someone offered the best price / best conditions, maybe the landlord didn’t like your writing style in correspondence and another million reasons, but there’s one conclusion, the reservation of accommodation on Airbnb can be canceled.
 • Cancellation policy on Airbnb. It happens that travel plans change and for such cases it is advisable to study in detail the conditions for canceling reservations on Airbnb, the service provides several types of cancellation: strict, moderate, flexible, long-term. Before booking your accommodation, be sure to study the issue of canceling your reservation.

Hello everyone! In this post we will talk about how to use the site for rental housing abroad. And also about some interesting nuances that we recently encountered.

Surely many of you know about this resource, and perhaps have long discovered it for yourself and travel in this way. For the first time, Nikita and I used the services of airbnb in the summer of 2014, after which we were absolutely delighted and since then we prefer to search for travel accommodation only there.

So, let's start in order. What is airbnb?

Airbnb stands for Air Bed and Breakfast. This name came about after two guys from San Francisco received guests at home, because they themselves needed money to pay for housing. They had three air mattresses at home, which they offered to temporary residents. Each morning, the guys cooked breakfast for guests. After some time, these guys saw in their actions a great business idea and founded the Airbnb website.

The portal itself says the following about itself:

Service Airbnb began its work in August 2008 in San Francisco, California. Airbnb is a safe and secure platform where you can rent, find and book unique accommodation anywhere in the world right on the site or via your mobile device.

One-night apartment, castle for a week or villa for a month - Airbnb gives people a unique travel experience, at any price, in more than 34,000 cities and 190 countries. Add to that the global customer support and rapidly growing travel community. Airbnb is the easiest way for people to earn money by renting out free space and offering it to millions of people.

In other words, on Airbnb you can find exactly the kind of accommodation that suits you in terms of comfort and cost. The cheapest option is common room. You rent a bed or sofa in the room where someone else lives. At the same time, you naturally use the shower, kitchen, Internet and all the benefits of civilization that are present in the apartment.

The next option is separate room. The apartment may have several rooms, you rent one of them, but other travelers or the owners of the apartment can live in neighboring rooms. This option is very good for those who have a little money, but want isolation. The advantages of the first and second options are also that you can always talk with the landlord, and he, as a local person, will tell you how best to get somewhere, where to go, etc.

And the last option to rent an apartment on Airbnb is whole housing. It can be a separate apartment or even a house - it depends on your goals and financial capabilities.

Today, more than 25 million people worldwide use the Airbnb website and more than one million apartments are for rent. The choice is very large for any budget and for any expectations.

Is it safe to travel with Airbnb?

The answer is yes. Security service pays great attention. If you are afraid to go to unknown people in an unknown apartment, then think about what the owner lets into his apartment, full of his things, people unknown to him. In theory, both are at risk, but in practice, we have never heard of or read about security issues.

The Airbnb community is built on trust. A verified profile is one of the necessary elements that allows guests and hosts to decide who they want to receive and who to stay with.

Airbnb has several levels of verification and verification of identity. The owner of the apartment, upon registration, attaches a scan of his documents, binds accounts on social networks, and guests do the same.

There are two main rules that will help you ensure safety:

 1. Browse carefully homeowner profile. If the profile lacks some information or photos, write to the owner to update his profile. We always pay attention to the comments that are left. previous tenants. If there are many comments and they are positive, then the landlord is an active participant in Airbnb, and you can trust him.
 2. Pay for your reservation only through site payment system. Do not agree to transfer money to the personal account of the owner, as In this case, Airbnb will not be able to help you if you encounter problems.

What is good about Airbnb?

Let's look at the indisputable advantages of renting a house through this site:

1. Cost. For those who travel alone, the cheapest option is either a hostel where you can rent a bed, or even free couchsurfing. Both options are not very comfortable, noisy and not always pleasant. Especially if you are on a long journey and need to work.

For those traveling together like us, the hostel is not suitable at all. Because renting the two cheapest beds in a room with 16 beds is more expensive than renting one separate room in an apartment. It's true. Verified in all countries and cities where we visited. Especially noticeable in Scandinavia. But there is an exception - Riga, there are really very cheap hostels!

Moreover, if you travel in a company of 15 people, I don’t even know what can save you besides some camping and Airbnb.

2. The feeling of home. The idea of the Aibnb community is the slogan "Welcome home." It really is. A hotel room is, of course, convenient and comfortable, but real housing, a blanket like at home, mugs with funny inscriptions, a guitar in the corner and morning coffee in the kitchen are completely different. Walking around the city, you feel not a tourist, but a local, because after the walk you will go not to the cleaned maid's room, but home.

3. Immersion in culture. Neither the longest excursion, nor the most ancient monument, nor even the most important national museum, will help you so keenly and deeply understand the mentality of the country in which you find yourself, like unexpected everyday trifles that you find at home. You will see the city and country as locals see it. Because you will have the opportunity to become this local.

With Airbnb, you can stay in unique houses of real people - these can be ordinary houses and apartments, or even tree houses and an igloo.

4. Comfort and coziness.Airbnb is good because you feel free with it. You paid money for housing, they gave you the keys - that's all. You don’t need to hang out with the landlord without fail, as it is pleasant on Couchsurfing, you don’t have to endure the snoring of your roommates in the hostel, your things are safe, you do not need to leave them in the safe every time. You have full rights to the apartment for the rental period - do what you want. Housing is usually very cozy, comfortable and pleasant. Everyone, of course, has different concepts about convenient and pleasant, about this a little further. But traveling through Europe, you can be sure of the cleanliness and beauty of the rented apartments.

But the medal always has two sides, and the stick has two ends. Over all our trips, we have repeatedly faced various situations during the rental process through Airbnb, which you should know about in advance.

What to look for when renting a house on Airbnb?

1. The service takes a commission in the amount of six to 12% of the reservation amount. The larger the reservation amount, the less airbnb service fee. To call it a minus does not turn the tongue, because It is clear that company employees should receive a salary and have the means to develop this wonderful resource.

At the end of the reservation you will immediately see the full amount, which includes all fees and commission of the portal itself. An example is below.

2. Some owners, in addition to the rental price, set additional charges. Often there is a cleaning fee and a security deposit for property damage. The property damage deposit will be deducted from your card upon payment of the lease and will be returned to it 48 hours after the checkout. If you damage property, the deposit will not be returned.

As a rule, a deposit is set for those apartments that are quite expensive and have expensive furniture. If you rent cheap accommodation, most likely there will be no such guarantee.

3. Default for people from Russia prices on the site are indicated in rubles. If desired, you can choose a different currency in the settings. Given the unstable ruble exchange rate recently, the rental process sometimes turns into an attraction. Because The price of the apartments you have chosen can change in a few hours. Do not be surprised at this. This is not the owner of the apartment is naughty.

4. The cost of the same apartment may be different depending on the rental period. Often rent for a month - cheaperthan to shoot for two weeks, and then another two weeks. Because owners make discounts on long bookings. Therefore, if you want to spend 25 days in a city, think it might be worth staying for 30 days and thus save several thousand rubles.

5. The landlord is not always a virtuoso Internet user, so there may be very serious mistakes. One of the situations that we recently encountered would have been completely unfunny if the owner had not gone to meet us in the end.

The situation is as follows: the landlord indicated the price per day for one person. However, he did not enter into the system information that the same amount should be paid for each additional guest. Airbnb is a very well thought out system that automatically calculates the total payment amount based on the number of people, number of days, etc. But, of course, if the owner did not specify any data, then this system does not work. For our part, we indicated that there would be two guests and paid the full amount of the rent from the card.

When we checked into the apartment, the landlord asked us to pay in cash "the second part of the lease", which we did not know about. He explained this by the fact that we paid from the card for only one tenant, and we two. After long trials, we explained his mistake to him, but it turned out that all the tenants had previously agreed to his conditions and paid for the second tenant in cash on the spot. Wow! Either he really wanted to separate us, or the truth is not very smart.

The moral is: Airbnb charges you the full price! You don’t have to pay anything to anyone! To avoid misunderstandings, before paying, talk with the owner of the apartment in correspondence on the site, discuss the total amount and say again how many people will be. Discuss with him all the conditions and be sure to understand each other.

6. Although the name Airbnb indicates that you are not only assigned a bed, but also breakfast, breakfast can be counted only if it is indicated in the description of the accommodation. Read the description very carefully! Not everyone has the Internet and a washing machine. To avoid disappointment from the apartment, just carefully consider the options and do not be afraid to enter into correspondence with the owner.

7. Correspondence with the owner it’s best to drive only on Airbnb. Because in case of any claims from one of the parties, it can be used as evidence.

8. When you check into the apartment, together with the owner, look carefully and point to broken thingsif any. Perhaps one of the previous tenants ruined something, but the landlord did not notice and will continue to blame you. We also had such a situation. To prove that you did not break anything is almost impossible.

9. All apartments and all owners are completely different. According to the profile on the site, it is almost impossible to put together a complete picture of housing. For example, we unexpectedly found ourselves in slums twice, although in our profile, of course, this was not written.

Sometimes housing is very expensive, but in place you find a lot of dirt, dust, lack of towels and necessary utensils. The owner gives you the keys, and you don’t see him anymore until you leave, although according to Airbnb’s rules, he should help you in every way if something breaks, etc.

And sometimes, you find the cheapest accommodation in the whole city, and the owner goes to meet you at the airport, has prepared toiletries for you, fresh bathrobes, scored a fridge with food and comes to cook dinner! Generally, price is not always an indicator of the quality of housing.

Three times already we received a pleasant surprise. We usually reserve a separate room, as this option suits us best for the price. But three times in a row, having paid the cost of only the room, we got the whole apartment at the disposal, because either the landlord was away, or constantly spent the night with his girlfriend, or decided to live with his parents. Airbnb always has a small amount of suspense. 🙂

10. Airbnb is a large and busy resource. It is not surprising that crashes and errors sometimes occur. Once, my payment for the month of rent was withdrawn twice from my card. After contacting the support service, they returned the money to me and provided a gift for further bookings in the amount of four thousand rubles, valid for a year, as a gift. For active travelers, this is a very useful and pleasant bonus.

Therefore, if something went wrong during the booking process, don’t worry! The support service will definitely solve your problem.

11. Register your account on Airbnb better at mail that you are actively using. You won’t receive unnecessary mailings, but you won’t miss any important letter from the service. For example, if you contact the support service, all answers will be sent to the mail, in your account on the site you will not see them.

Another nice feature of the site is sMS sending. Hosts will receive replies to your phone, even if you don’t have internet access. This is very convenient, so we recommend that you also indicate your real phone number.

12. Please note that some hosts install minimum reservation periodfor example, three days. Also, keep in mind that Airbnb has the option of canceling your reservation, but each landlord chooses for himself flexible, moderate or strict cancellation conditions.

13. This has not happened to us, but nevertheless sometimes it happens - the owner himself can cancel reservation. The site provides fines for the owners, but force majeure happens not only with guests, so you should treat such situations with understanding. As a rule, the host profile will note that he once canceled a paid reservation for someone.

14. Lastly, remember that airbnb rental housing is this is not the same as booking a hotel or hostel. Some landlords do not respond immediately, the free dates may be incorrectly indicated in the profile, and in addition, you may be refused to rent if your owner did not like your profile, and this is his full right.

Therefore, it is better to look for housing on Airbnb in advance, it’s very difficult to find your profile correctly filled out, and also to expect that in the “hot” seasons For example, during the Rio Carnival, low-cost housing on Airbnb was dismantled for another two months.
