Inal Bay is a small and incredibly cozy place, which is located right in the middle of a mountain forest. Many compare this resort area with the legendary Blue Lagoon from the film of the same name. All thanks to the healing clay deposits of a turquoise hue, which give the sea such a dazzling aquamarine color. Thanks to this, the bay is becoming more and more popular every year. The place is located between the resort villages of Dzhubga and Arkhipo-Osipovka, and has the official name Mountain Air. The population of the bay totals a little more than a hundred people, but in the season this figure increases significantly due to the large influx of vacationers.

What places to visit?

Those who wish to fully relax from the exhausting worldly bustle and enjoy solitude and tranquility go to this resort area. However, you should not devote all the time to lying on the beach, because in the bay there are interesting places and attractions that deserve attention:

• Natural blue clay baths. Right on the territory of the resort, anyone can plunge into a small lake created by nature itself. This bowl is filled with healing blue clay mixed with spring water. It is believed that swimming in the lake has a powerful anti-aging effect, has a beneficial effect on blood circulation, and also perfectly cleanses the skin.
• Bzhidsky waterfalls. Right behind the village of Bzhid (to which Inal Bay is territorially related) are a picturesque natural landmark. Waterfalls are several water cascades to which a wooden staircase leads. Nearby there are many cafes and eateries where you can taste delicious local dishes. The visiting card of this place is “Desire Trees”. According to popular beliefs, if you stand under one of them and make a wish, it will certainly come true.
• Mill gap. This is an excellent place for walking and family vacations. It has everything: catering points, stocked ponds, natural bowls with healing clay, a spring with clear water, picnic glades in the forest, and so on. For lovers of active pastime, walks deep into the gap are offered, where you can see a beautiful cascade of waterfalls. And if you continue the way up, the route will lead to the top of Mount Gebeus, where there are excellent viewing platforms.

The bay cannot boast of a developed service, but for a comfortable stay there are all conditions: many affordable housing options, beautiful nature and incredible beauty of the sea.

The beaches of Inal Bay

The entire coastal line of the bay is one large pebble beach, where there are shadow areas. It was here that the largest man-made small-pebble beach in Europe was created - its length is about five kilometers. In addition to swimming in clear sea waters, vacationers are offered a wide range of entertainment: boat trips, sea fishing, jet skis and catamarans. Here is the water attraction Iceberg, which is incredibly popular among children and adults. Shores near the central part of the village are usually better equipped and quite crowded in season. Those who wish to enjoy wildlife and solitude should go a little further from the bay.

Nature and climate

Inal Bay is an ecologically clean resort area, where there are no busy highways and deliberate enterprises. All this, coupled with a favorable Mediterranean climate, smoothly turning into a humid subtropical, makes the resort an ideal place for relaxation and recreation. The swimming season here opens in mid-May and lasts until the end of September. The average summer temperature is + 24ºС. Various types of shrubs and conifers grow in natural forests, among which there are fir, pine and juniper, which create a healing microclimate.

  Due to the fact that I love them very much, we have visited all the surrounding areas more than once. Here came the turn of waterfalls in the Mill gap.

On the federal highway M4, after the village of Teshebs (here its Teshebsky waterfalls), before reaching the village of Bzhid, there is a banner. You can’t pass by. So claimed the Internet. We sat down, let's go. There is no banner, we drove into Bzhid, so they slipped through.
They returned, navigation approximately showed the desired point, left Aliska under the signboard “Fishing” and set off on a dry river.

The sun began to bake and from 23 degrees, the temperature rose to 29. The road all the way up, after a while conversations began on the topic: "Where did you take Susanin the hero to us?" "How much longer to go?" "Let's turn on the navigator." And only two kilometers passed. I looked at the map beforehand and was sure that we were going right, especially since the jeepers confirmed this. I just kept silence that it was 5-7 kilometers to go, otherwise, I had no chance at all to get into the Mill Slit. We would have drove a great UAZ here.

Besides - I wanted to eat! Stopped, have a bite! And I see, by all indications - we will not see waterfalls today!

But, if you do not see the waterfalls, this does not mean that they are not. Simply, they are invisible! And the photos were beautiful and it was also possible to swim in the bowl, but it seems to me not after a dry summer.

The amazing bay of Inal.

Such a beautiful name for the bay, attracted us to see it for a long time. But, this is quite far from Novorossiysk and somehow did not work out. And we promised you to expand the selection of beaches of the Black Sea.

And in September, we finally decided to resume our outings on nature and attach to the waterfalls in the Mill Slit and Inal Bay.
We wanted to examine it on the subject - to spend the night somewhere in nature by the sea. For free. It turned out that this is not an option at all.

There is little space, narrow streets, completely built up with sanatoriums and recreation centers at the level of 200 rubles. per person. The beach in September was quite deserted. The main street is narrow, what happens here in the summer?

But, not this place of our dreams. As the husband said: “Sovdepiya!”, But we can say that this is a place of budget vacation. This bay struck us with its usualness, crowding and garbage on the way to the village.

The whole infrastructure is there. With children it is convenient. But, we did not like it. It is unlikely that we will come here to rest. It looks like our Durso, but the village is much larger. The beach is pebble. On the way to the village, heaps of picturesque rubbish are scattered everywhere.

Around the village of Lermontovo there are a lot of beautiful and interesting places that you should visit. Here passes the Caucasian ridge, from which many mountain rivers originate. Many unique and picturesque natural attractions - gorges, waterfalls, mountain valleys overgrown with relict forests.

In the village itself, numerous travel agencies will offer you excursions to various parts of the coast, up to a trip to Abkhazia.

Tengin waterfalls.

Waterfalls, this is one of the most common attractions of the Krasnodar Territory, they are all diverse and each in its own way bewitches. The closest of them are Tengin waterfalls. Just 5 km from the center of the village of Lermontovo is the village of Tenginka in whose honor the waterfalls are named. From the village to the waterfalls another 2.5 km, following the signs in the village you need to turn onto a gravel road, which will lead you to your destination. You won’t get to the waterfalls themselves; the barrier will prevent you from doing this. But this does not matter, from the barrier you go only a half a kilometer along a marked wide road, admiring the forest landscapes.

Entrance to the waterfalls is paid (about 150 rubles)

The first waterfall is double, about 15 meters high. With a small bowl at the foot where you can cool off in hot weather.

The second waterfall can be reached only by cable car with pedal drive (the trip is paid, the price is about 50 rubles). The cable car runs through the beautiful gorge of the Shapsuho River.

The second waterfall is single and about 8 meters high. All this is in a very picturesque place. Fairy forest, mountain air will leave an indelible impression on you.

Mill gap. Ponds, waterfalls, blue clay.

About 20 km from the village of Lermontovo, between the villages of Bzhid and Teshebs there is a beautiful forest gorge called Mill Slit. You will not miss the entrance to the Mill Slit, a large banner is installed on the M4 federal highway.

This place is equipped for tourist holidays, here you will find cafes, fishing ponds, picnic places.

A mountain stream flows nearby. In the channel of this stream there are deposits of blue clay, in some places you can swim in crystal clear water.

But, undoubtedly, the Bhid Falls are the most interesting decoration of this corner, which you will meet if you go along the channel of the stream. On the way, you will come across small waterfalls, and after 30 - 40 minutes of walking through the forest you will come to waterfalls of impressive size.

Your adventures may not end there, you can climb higher into the mountains, for this you need to go around the last waterfall and climb a rather steep mountain trail up. These trails lead to a ridge next to Mount Gebeus and magnificent views.

If you go down from the Gebeus riverbed to the Teshebs river, then you can also see the famous Gebius waterfalls.

On the border of the Tuapse district with Gelendzhik, not far from the village of Bzhid, there is a wonderful place where you can relax in nature - the Mill Slit, which is a beautiful forest gorge formed by the river of the same name. It originates on the eastern slope of Mount Gebius, from a height of seven hundred thirty-five meters and descends a restless mountain stream, flowing into the Bzhid River.

There are two ponds where you can organize excellent fishing, which, according to local residents, can be completely unpredictable.

Nearby is a spring with clean, delicious spring water, as well as a mountain stream, near which there are deposits of medicinal blue clay. It is popular in various countries and is widely used to treat many ailments. It’s all the more pleasant because here, in the Mill Slit, you can try its healing power on yourself, without specially going to other resorts for this. For fans of picnics in the cool shady forest, special places are equipped where you can relax, make a barbecue with smoke and enjoy the surrounding natural landscapes. At first glance, it might seem that the Mill Slit is a place for lazy outdoor recreation. In fact, people with different temperaments can relax here. Some upon arrival will be delighted with cafes and other benefits of civilization right in nature, while others, those who love outdoor activities, hiking and new experiences, will be able to take a fascinating forty-minute walk to Bzhid Falls.

A walk deep into the gorge along the channel of the stream begins with cascades and small gutters. Water runs over stones, jumping over boulders, merges with a stream from ledges, boils, but does not stop for a moment of its rapid movement. The first waterfall along the road is small, just a little more than a meter in height, the second one is about three meters high with a bowl below, one meter deep. Here, if desired, you can plunge into the crystal clear, cool water. Places in the direction of travel are quite narrow, wooden steps that you have to climb along the water stream are rather slippery. Therefore, to ensure safety in the hike, good, comfortable, reliable shoes with firm fixation on the foot and non-slip soles are required. No sandals and a slipper - it can be dangerous. The third waterfall is even higher - four meters. He, like everyone else, is very beautiful - water falls along sheer stone walls, overgrown with emerald moss and entwined with ivy.

In general, in May, when the sun already begins to warm in summer, and in June, the waterfalls of the Mill Slit are still filled with water, so you can swim here in plenty. At the end of a trip around a small bend, travelers will see another impressive natural picture - a large two-cascade waterfall. Each of the waterfalls is beautiful in its own way, and by going around the last waterfall, along a rather steep slope, you can climb to a mountain range located next to the Gebius mountain, which has excellent viewing platforms with magnificent views. Those who do not want to rest on their laurels and want to continue the hike can go down the mountain directly to the Teshebs riverbed and enjoy the famous Gebius waterfalls as a bonus for perseverance.

How to get to Inal Bay

Inal Bay is located between Dzhubga and Arkhipo-Osipovka, on the segment of the Dzhubga-Gelendzhik road, but far away from the highway, near the sea.

How to get to Inal Bay from Dzhubga. On Yandex cards

There are 14 kilometers by road from Dzhubga (from the bus station) to Inal Bay (it takes 25 minutes by car, but if there are traffic jams it takes much longer), 17 km from Arkhipo-Osipovka (19 minutes drive), it is much easier and faster to get there than to Dzhubga ) From Gelendzhik 70 kilometers (by car 1 hour 10 minutes), from Krasnodar 140 km (2 hours). The Jubga-Gelendzhik junction is 8.4 km away.
