If your credit cards are stolen or lost, block them immediately. On the street, try to avoid large crowds of people - a favorite place for pickpockets. When traveling by public transport, prepare money for travel in advance, preventing strangers from remembering the place where you keep money and valuables. Do not carry large amounts of money with you unless absolutely necessary and avoid keeping money in your handbags. Carry cameras and camcorders on the shoulder strap only. When you go for a walk with your family or in a group, arrange a meeting point in advance in case you suddenly get lost. Do not buy jewelry or other valuables on the street. In bars and restaurants, do not leave bags on the floor or on seatbacks.

AUTOMOBILE

Please note: in Cyprus, left-hand traffic!

If you decide to rent a car, follow the general rules:

  • never, even for a few minutes, do not leave the car with things unattended;
  • never get out of the car with the engine running, even if you only need to ask for directions;
  • Always carry your car keys with you.
  • try to remove all valuable items (cameras, car radios, etc.) from your field of vision, leaving the car in the parking lot;
  • do not leave documents in the car;
  • If, while driving on the highway, one of your companions asks you to stop, do not do this until you reach the "Service Area".

CIRCUIT

Please note that in Cyprus electrical sockets are used in the "UK" format - with three holes. To charge phones, laptops and connect other compact devices that require electrical power, you will need an adapter. A travel adapter can be purchased locally. The mains voltage is 240 Volts, with the usual frequency of 50Hz, additional transformers are not required.

In addition to the mainland, the territory of Spain includes the Balearic and Canary Islands - popular holiday destinations. When choosing tours to Spain, travelers choose major cities - Barcelona, Granada, Seville, Cordoba. beach lovers

Croatia is located in the southeast of Europe, its shores are washed by the Adriatic Sea. Croatia has absorbed all the best that is in Europe, the prices here are pleasant, and hotels in Croatia can claim the first place in terms of hospitality. Snow-white beaches, Mediterranean nature, picturesque towns - this is only a small part of the beauties of the former Yugoslav Republic. Summer in Croatia is dry

Sunny Bulgaria is located in the east of the Balkan Peninsula. The shores of the country are washed by the Black Sea. In Bulgaria, the swimming season starts at the end of May and ends in September. The beaches in Bulgaria are sandy. The ski season starts in December and lasts until mid-February. When choosing a tour to Bulgaria, tourists most often choose the beach resorts of Albena, Golden Sands,

Emotional, temperamental Italy enjoys unceasing popularity among tourists. Here you will find world-favorite Italian cuisine, beautiful beaches and countless attractions and entertainment. Italy occupies the territory of the famous "boot" - the Apennine Peninsula. It includes the large islands of Sicily and Sardinia, as well as several small ones.

Türkiye is a popular choice for Russian and European tourists. Here, affordable prices, excellent service and warm sea 6 months a year. Holidays in this country are liked not only by fans of beach holidays, but also by lovers of educational excursions and nightlife. It is especially good to travel to Turkey with the whole family, because for children (even the smallest ones) the most comfortable conditions are created here.

The most expensive part of a holiday in Cyprus, and indeed in any other resort remote from your home, is the cost of air travel. Therefore, plan your vacation in advance. The less time remains before the start of the holiday season, the less cheap tickets remain. If you consider the offers of air carriers as early as possible, then you will have a better chance of finding promotional offers. Consider connecting flights as well. Try looking for indirect flights as well, sometimes there are very good deals.

Also try to choose "cheap days". For example, for ten days of rest from May 10, you can pay 2 or even 3 times cheaper than resting directly from May 1. Basically, many air carriers have recently begun to allow passengers to compare ticket prices for different days of the month. Therefore, you will have a real opportunity to save money by shifting the date of your vacation trip by just a couple of days.

Before going on vacation, a reasonable question usually arises - where is it more economical to settle in an apartment or in a hotel. It all depends on the circumstances. If you plan to rest for a long time, then it will be much more profitable to rent an apartment or apartment. In addition to numerous amenities, you will have a great opportunity to cook at home, saving on restaurant visits. Usually electricity is paid separately from housing, so you need to take into account that the electricity consumed in Cyprus is quite expensive, so try to turn off all unnecessary electrical appliances (when leaving - turn off the lights!), and also do not turn on the air conditioner unnecessarily.

If staying in a hotel is more comfortable for you, then consider whether you should pay full board at a hotel if you plan to only spend the night there, and spend all day on the beach, or go on excursions. Choose a hotel with fewer stars and not on the first line. Consider options with inexpensive hotels, because Cyprus is a very civilized tourist country, and the class of service in a three-star hotel will be no worse. There will be no unsanitary conditions, except that the size of the room itself will be smaller.

A lot of money during the holidays is taken up by paying for excursions, of course. But after all, for this we go to a distant country in order to get to know its history better. But you can still save money. First of all, before the trip, try to read as much as possible about this country and the area where you will directly live. Cypriot cities have a lot of attractions that are literally close to hotels - museums, parks, forts and temples. So why pay for a tour if you can go there on your own on foot.

Consider also options with excursions lasting half a day. For example, from morning to afternoon, or from lunch to evening. Then you do not have to pay extra money for lunch at a restaurant. There are many well-equipped hiking trails in Cyprus, from mountain paths on the Troodos to paths along rocky coasts - choose which one suits you best. On all such routes, as a rule, there are observation platforms with picnic areas and comfortable benches. Routes of medium length are usually 2-3 kilometers on foot. And the longest route is a hike for several days, because its length is 549 kilometers. Buses and fixed-route taxis run regularly between Cypriot cities. And although they do not go as often as we would like, and they finish their work at 6-7 pm, but such a trip will cost you several times cheaper than taxi services. Bus timetables and the address of the nearest bus station you can easily find out at the reception in the hotel.

You can, of course, rent a car, it will give you great freedom of movement. But there are several arguments against this. Firstly, there is left-hand traffic in Cyprus and not all of our motorists will be able to quickly adapt to it, and, secondly, gasoline is very expensive in Cyprus, and this will be an extra cost.

Try to buy groceries in large chain stores such as Alfamega and Carrefour. In small shops located in resort areas, all goods are much more expensive, because they are designed mainly for tourists. If you want to have a snack somewhere (in the afternoon or even in the evening), then try to choose small cafes (for your own), which are located away from the main attractions and from the first coastline. Believe me, the prices in such cafes, the size of portions and high service will pleasantly please you. By the way, in Cyprus you can take takeaway lunches and dinners, their prices are usually 15-20% lower than usual.

Remember that fruit is best bought in small village markets. They are here, as a rule, very fresh - just picked, and they cost 2 or even 3 times lower than in stores. If you drink alcohol, then you need to know that the prices for Cypriot wine in wineries are much lower than in supermarkets. And if you do not use, then you will have a great opportunity to save. But drinking water is better to buy in hypermarkets, where it is much cheaper.

If you live in a hotel on the first coastline, then umbrellas and sunbeds are provided to you free of charge. If you live further away, then you will have to pay rent. It is better to take an umbrella and bamboo mats with you from home, so you will save a lot. Do not forget to also take sunglasses, sunblock and hats with you on vacation, so as not to buy all this in Cyprus at exorbitant prices.

You will also be greatly helped to save money in Cyprus by things that you prudently take with you:

All necessary medicines, those that you use and those that may come in handy.

Lots of tea bags and instant coffee.

Camera and smartphone with GPS navigation. Download on it more maps of the area in which you plan to live and travel to your health.

Insect repellents.

An electric adapter adapter so that you do not have to buy or rent it later.

And yet, in order to calmly communicate with the house, it is best to purchase a local SIM card - MTN or CYTA. It will be much more profitable than paying for roaming services. Just remember, in order to purchase it, you will need a passport.

I hope these tips will help you save at least a little on your vacation. Have a pleasant and comfortable trip to the beautiful island of Cyprus!

If you have planned a vacation in Cyprus in the summer, we recommend that you start looking for a comfortable room or villa within your means even in winter, sitting at home in snowy Russia. This is also done on specialized services and sites.

When choosing services and aggregators where you can find housing in Cyprus, try to stop your attention on resources that have already been tested over the years. Do not trust those who offer you obviously low prices while promising royal apartments.

It should be noted that although Cyprus is a member of the EU and the Schengen zone, it is considered a prosperous country, there are still enough scammers here, incl. in the field of online payments. Be careful, contact trusted hotel search services.

About a visa to Cyprus on your own

A visa or pro-visa for Russian citizens is issued easily and quickly via the Internet. Since 2009, Russians have been allowed to come to Cyprus under a simplified scheme, so the entry document is called a pro-visa.

It should be especially noted that a pro-visa is issued to all our compatriots completely free of charge, and is issued via the Internet. This procedure in 2018 is not much different from the previous year. Let's briefly describe it.

First you should go to the website of the Embassy of Cyprus in Moscow. On the main page you will see an icon with the inscription "Pro-visa to Cyprus". You should click on it, go to another page, there you will find the form of the questionnaire and familiarize yourself with the procedure for compiling it.

Then, right on the site, fill out a form in Latin and send it from your email address to the visa department of the Embassy of Cyprus. You will find his email address at the end of the questionnaire.

After a short period of time (from several minutes to several hours), you will be sent a pro-visa or a provisional visa by mail from the Cypriot embassy. It must be printed out and presented at check-in for the flight.

A pro-visa can only be used once when entering Cyprus from Russia. It is valid for 90 days within six months. In the future, you need to get a new visa by going through the same simple procedure via the Internet.

Upon receipt of this document, you do not need an invitation from Cyprus, hotel and hotel reservations or an air ticket back to Russia. The entire procedure for issuing a pro-visa and entering the island is simplified as much as possible.

However, if you have no time or are simply too lazy to do this, then for a pro-visa just in time. And you will be able to use it in the future without any problems and overlays.

Book a transfer yourself

Arriving from Russia to the airport of Larnaca or Paphos, the first thing you need is a transport that will take you to the booked hotel or villa as soon as possible.

There are several options here. The easiest is a bus service from Larnaca or Paphos airport to the resort town where your hotel is located (Ayia Napa, Protaras, Limassol, etc.).

This is the cheapest transfer option, but it is also the most troublesome. The fact is that there is no direct bus service from Larnaca Airport to the resorts of Cyprus. You will have to travel with transfers, it will take a long time of wandering through unfamiliar terrain.

It is fashionable to get to Nicosia by shuttle bus. On the second floor of Larnaca Airport there are ticket offices of the Kapnos Airport Shuttle bus company. Its shuttle buses will quickly and comfortably take you to the capital of the Republic of Cyprus.

And the most convenient way to get from the airport to your hotel is, of course,. It is best to order a taxi in advance using the appropriate services on the Internet.

If you booked a car in advance, you will not only be met, but also taken to the right place without any problems. The transfer price is fixed, it is immediately taken into account whether you are traveling with or without children, how many passengers, whether additional services are needed, etc.

If you forgot to order a taxi in advance, you can do it right at the airport. But in this case, you will have to look for a taxi stand on your own and explain to the driver where you need to go. It is likely that you will overpay the extra money.

But the most interesting, of course, is located far from the noisy resorts, in the depths of the island, where you can see the real life of the Cypriots, communicate with these kind and hospitable people and truly fall in love with Cyprus.

In order to comfortably travel around the entire island, to see its natural sights and beauties, as well as archaeological and cultural values, you will certainly need a car.

The easiest way out: pre. It's easy to do. There are many international and local car rental companies operating in Cyprus. Almost all of them have official websites on the Internet and offices in real life.

Directly on the car rental website, by filling out a simple form, you can find a car for traveling around Cyprus during your vacation, book it, and then conclude a lease agreement for a convenient time. The companies' offices are located at the airport and other parts of the cities.

It should be noted that today in Cyprus it is not a problem to find a Russian-speaking driver. There are many attendants from Russia, or the Cypriots themselves learn the basics of our spoken language, because. there are a lot of our tourists here.

More

Paphos is a very beautiful city, with a chic promenade, a historical center in the city itself, you can go to the mosaics of Dionysus - located near the port of Paphos (cost 4.5 euros for entry). There is a huge shopping center - KINGS MALL AVENUE, many cafes, bars, restaurants, nightlife is not so active, but there is a street with clubs (about 5-6 clubs). The resort is suitable for both young people and for a respectable holiday.

Throughout Cyprus, hotels are of a very high level, with very high quality repairs.
Traffic is left-handed, so warn tourists immediately so as not to be scared. For convenience, buses run in one direction, for example 101, in the other - 102. Also, sockets are three-horned, so take an adapter with you, either buy it there for 2.5 euros or take it in hotels for a deposit. These are all echoes of the British.
Hotels all work with additional paid services. Safe, air conditioning, refrigerator, beach - since all beaches are municipal (cost 7.5 euros for two sun loungers and one umbrella).
Cypriots are all very friendly, polite, you can rent a car and are not afraid of traffic. The standard of living is higher than in Greece, gorgeous beaches and clear sea. Definitely sell!
One of the most beautiful beaches in Paphos is called CORAL BAY - you can get there from the center by bus 615 - 1.5 euros one way. A very beautiful place, with gorgeous sand and a gentle entrance to the sea.
Inspection of hotels in the resort of Paphos
Mayfair 3 * - excellent 3, the room is simple, but chic food, if you take all inclusive, then good alcoholic drinks, active animation, a large pool, everything is very clean and tidy. Of the minuses - the location - 2 km from the sea, so you have to go to different beaches, since in the very center of Paphos - all the beaches are rocky. Around the corner - the largest shopping center in Paphos. Highly recommend.
AVANTI 4 * - excellent 4-ka, with a good green area, there is a main building, there is a bungalow accommodation - with access to the pool. The beach is 200 meters from the hotel, in the center of Paphos, you can walk - 10 minutes on foot. The rooms are all renovated, the villas have kitchenettes.
Nearby hotels (Athena beach, Sentido Cypria, Louis Ledra, Alexander the Great).
DIONYSOS 3 * - in the center of Paphos, next to the street of bars, a Greek-style hotel, very beautiful rooms. Standards are in Greek style, Deluxe are high-tech and they have bathrobes and slippers, tea sets (if the difference is not big, then it is better to sell deluxe). The area is not big, but very cozy. Meals are served at various bars within the hotel. There is a tavern where hotel guests can dine, both Greek and international cuisine. Free file. Alcoholic drinks are only served from 17:00 to 24:00 if guests are staying on an all-inclusive basis. Definitely sell!
ST GEORGE 5 * - a very good hotel, with quality rooms, a good beach, but the entrance to the sea is stones, there is a small cleared sand. Safe, file, minibar - all for free. There are Russian speaking staff. There is also a building GARDEN - this is 4, they can use the territory of the 5, but they eat at home. Hotels on the first coastline, very suitable for a respectable holiday.
Near the hotel LAURA - did not look, but this hotel has a huge water park.
AZIA 4 * is a 4-ka hotel, although the operators have it as a 5-ka. Neat hotel, with good territory, there is a beach, but stones. There is animation in Russian. Safe, minibar, Wi-Fi - free of charge. For 4-ki and at a good price - definitely sell, especially the first coastline. And also close to Paphos.
VENUS HOTEL 5 * - the operators go like 5 *, in fact a good 4 on the first coast, the hotel is no longer new, there has not been a renovation in the rooms for a long time, but you can sell it, because not far from the city, there are beautiful excavations nearby (which are still ongoing). The territory is small and not green. Plus - it works on an all-inclusive system, for early booking it was inexpensive.
AVLIDA 4 * - across the road from the sea, an old hotel, the territory is small, but the hotel is active, there is animation, evening programs, go to the sea for about 5 minutes on foot. Nearby there are shops, supermarkets. The beach is one with the Venus hotel. Wi-Fi - free, safe, refrigerator - for a fee, very reminiscent of a boarding house. Sell if the price is right.
ALMYRA 5 * / ANNABELLE 4 * - design hotel, in the center of Paphos, on the central promenade. 1st coastline, but there is no such beach, since there is a rocky coast, there is a descent into the sea along a ladder. Everyone goes swimming 200 meters from the hotel to the sandy beach. Very good Spa. Safe, Wi-Fi, bathrobes, slippers - all for free. Animation is not very active, mostly Cypriot evenings, live music. ANNABELLE - standing next to 4, also a design hotel, I liked it even more than their 5, more comfortable and in the Greek style. Definitely sell! Hotels of a high level of service!
