Citizenship- this is a stable relationship between a person and the state, mutual rights and obligations. Citizenship can be obtained at birth - at the place of birth or depending on what it is with the parents. In Russia, the citizenship of a child depends on the parents. A child can be recognized as a citizen of Russia and on its territory if he is denied the citizenship of the country to which his parents belong. In addition, if he was born on the territory of Russia, and his parents are unknown or deprived of their rights, he will also be considered a citizen of the Russian Federation.

If only one of the parents is a citizen of Russia, it is necessary to submit to the Federal Migration Service an application established (in 2 copies) with the requirement for recognition of the child's citizenship. Attach to the application:
1. Civil passports of both parents. If at the time one of the parents has died, you must provide the original or a copy of the death certificate.
2. Birth certificate of the child or, if the child has reached the age of 14.
3. A document confirming that the child lives on the territory of the Russian Federation.
