The following free baggage allowances are established:

  • when booking a tour from March 15, 2019 and later for departures from May 1, 2019:
    Economic- 1 piece up to 15 kg
    Business- 1 piece up to 30 kg
  • when booking a tour before March 15, 2019 and departing both before and after May 1, 2019:
    Economic- 1 piece up to 20 kg
    Business- 1 piece up to 30 kg

The following hand luggage standards have been established for domestic and international destinations:
maximum dimensions by the sum of three dimensions and each dimension in particular do not exceed 115 cm (55x40x20 cm).

On certain routes and for certain fares, there may be exceptions to the standard free baggage allowance conditions. The passenger will be notified about them when booking the transportation.

Combining two pieces of baggage into one is possible with a total weight of up to 30 kg.

The free baggage allowance and carry-on baggage allowance applies to adults, children from 2 to 12 years old and children under 2 years old with a seat. For children under the age of 2 years following without providing a separate seat, only free baggage allowance is allowed, which is 1 piece weighing no more than 10 kg and the sum of three dimensions no more than 203 cm. Hand luggage is not provided.

Passenger's belongings, regardless of their name and purpose, weighing more than 30 kg per piece, but less than 50 kg, such baggage is considered heavy.

Today I want to tell you about my experience of flying with an airline. nord wind. We flew with this airline, because we bought a tour to the Dominican Republic and there was no choice who to fly with. And since booking tickets and a hotel on your own is more expensive than a package tour, we settled on it, although we have not been flying through tour operators for quite some time. We flew from the Pegasus company. Well, let's start from the very beginning, I tried to go through electronic check-in and was surprised to find that all places (absolutely all) are paid. Prices range from 2000 to 7500 per seat, depending on its convenience. This was the first time I encountered this, but I decided that paying for places where you should be put for free is absurd. As a result, when we flew there, my husband and I were put on those very “trump seats” at the emergency exit, where you can stretch your legs. Then many came up and asked how much we paid extra for them, it turns out they had to pay extra for 7500 rubles, so we were pretty lucky, I thought then, but it was too early to draw conclusions. People began to walk around the cabin of the plane to be seated together, as they were seated at different ends. When we had already arrived in the Dominican Republic and Pegasus was taking us by bus to the hotel, we were immediately offered to book seats on the return plane, of course, not for free, arguing that we could then sit at different ends of the plane and it would be better to immediately choose seats nearby. In general, NordWind is a whole chain of additional payments for any reason. By the way, back we really flew separately, though one after another. And there was also a problem with the seating of passengers, they were looking for a place among the available ones, since they put several people in the same places.

For almost 12 hours of flight, they feed only once, if you want to eat again, then pay money. Of course, I understand everything, but it seems to me that they should be fed at least 2 times, as other airlines do. Some airlines feed 2 times in 8 hours. And in addition, the amount of food was not calculated at all and there is no stock, for example, on the way back, I ran out of chicken and everyone began to distribute the remaining fish, and the stewards managed to pass less than half of the plane. The food is quite good, you can eat. For example, I show the diet: fish and rice, 2 buns (though I don’t understand why there are two of them, butter, potato salad, pie.

There is no alcohol on board, not even wine and beer, that is, everything is strict, only juices and water. Moreover, the juices also run out by the end of the flight and they are no longer poured in two glasses, so that there is enough for everyone.

There were TVs in the cabin, but when we flew there, there were no headphones and probably they just had to be bought. But there is no point in buying, since all the films are in English, Chinese and French, and this is in a Russian airline, in general, the logic is not very clear to me. On the way back, the TVs did not work at all, that is, they simply did not turn on.

Baggage.

In this airline you can 20 kg. per person per suitcase. This is the first time I have come across this, that is, one suitcase cannot weigh more than 20 kg, even if there are 10 people with one suitcase. That is, you can carry 200 kg in total, but only 20 kg in a suitcase. Pretty hefty fines for overweight., so a show begins at the airport, who is carrying how much and how much everything needs to be shifted. Everyone weighs their suitcases on the scale before checking in, it's good that there are free places where you can weigh them. But you get additional stress, and psychos and exclamations of people are heard from all sides.

The plane itself is quite fresh, the seats are tolerable, you can even sleep a little, though there is not enough space between the seats and the seats themselves are not very comfortable.

And of course, don't expect any additional bells and whistles in the form of beauty bags with toothbrushes, sleep masks and slippers, pillows on chairs, etc. Plaids end instantly and whoever is late, he remains without a blanket. But in general, the impression of the airline was not very pleasant, all the same, taking money for absolutely everything that is possible and impossible, I think it's too much. It’s good that the air in the plane is free for now, but I won’t be surprised that this will be fixed soon. Therefore, if it is possible to choose another airline, then I advise you to do just that. All the same, you don’t want to fly for a long time without food, at different ends of the plane, and even when you leave, you don’t want to pay extra for luggage. And it is desirable to start the rest on a positive note.
