How the Sochi Olympics changed life at the resort state farm “Russia. Where did the lands of the Olympic ornithopark disappear: an interactive map of the cut of the Imeretinskaya lowland - Chiropterology

01. Torch, "Big" and "Ice Cube".

Sochi Olympic Park is the main site of the 2014 Winter Olympics. It was in it that the whole main movement of the Games took place, and after their completion, various sports events are held here. The park is located in the Adler region, in the Imereti lowland, right on the Black Sea coast.

02. Part of the Adler Arena, figure skating practice rink and Iceberg.

The most important in the park are sports facilities. Six stadiums are arranged in a circle: "Fisht" (opening and closing of the Olympics), "Puck" (the second hockey arena), "Bolshoi" (the main ice palace for), "Ice cube" (), "Adler-Arena" () and "Iceberg" (and). In the center of the circle is a huge torch, in which the fire of the games burned. Also, a wall of champions of the games and a Formula 1 track were erected on the square. An amusement and amusement park “Sochi Park” was built next to the sports facilities.

03. Torch and Fisht.

Such an accumulation of similar objects in one place is beneficial during the Olympic Games themselves, but what to do with them after is a big question. For many years it was asserted that the objects were prefabricated and that they would be transported to other regions of Russia. This immediately seemed absurd, and after the construction it became finally clear that nothing could be transported. All were left to stand on the Black Sea coast.

04. Formula 1 track. Because of it, the Olympic Park is now constantly covered with a large number of fences and it is best to move around it on bicycles. By the way, they are allowed on the track once a week and you can ride like a real F1 pilot before the race.

Expensive construction work is again at Fisht: it is being prepared for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. An amazing thing: in Krasnodar there are two football clubs that play in the RFPL - Krasnodar and Kuban. The owner of Krasnodar and the Magnit store chain Sergei Galitsky of a new and purely football stadium for his club, which in the spring of 2015 became the bronze medalist of the Russian championship. But the regional capital was left without a World Cup, despite the huge interest in football. There is no football team in Sochi, there is no interest of fans even longer, but it was the resort town that received the world championship.

05. The 40-thousandth Fisht stadium, where the opening and closing of the 2014 Olympics took place. It cost about 20 billion rubles, which is 2.5 times more expensive than analogues.

The ice hockey arena "Shaiba" for 7000 seats is one of the most modest construction projects in Sochi-2014. They spent “only” 3.4 billion rubles on it, which is about 1.5 times more expensive than analogues. Minor matches of the Olympic hockey tournament were held here. Today the All-Russian Children's Sports and Health Center is located here.

07. Next to the Puck there is the most grandiose object of the Olympic Park - the Bolshoi Ice Palace.

The 12 thousandth palace "Bolshoi" cost almost 10 billion rubles, which is 2.5 times higher than its analogues. The spectator seat at the Bolshoi stadium stands like a Toyota Corolla. But building is not enough: you also need to maintain an object. During the Olympics, the Russian Ice Hockey Federation complained that one day of work at the Bolshoi costs 1 million rubles, which is a fabulous amount. They try to load the object in every possible way after the Olympics. It hosted the 2014 Channel One Cup (Euro Hockey Tour stage) and the 2015 KHL All-Star Game. Since the 2014/15 season, Bolshoi has become the home arena of the newly created Sochi ice hockey club. For the second year in a row, the arena has also hosted the final festival and the Gala Match of the Night Hockey League, a project personally sponsored by the President of Russia.

Hockey club Sochi was quickly organized in the summer of 2014. Coach Vyacheslav Butsaev immediately managed to bring the team to the playoffs of the Continental Hockey League, where in the spring of 2015 in the first round it lost to the winners of the regular season CSKA Moscow. Haste is very noticeable in everything that concerns the club itself. Unsuccessful logo and corporate identity, vague marketing, mediocre merchandise, lack of school and youth team, weak press service, etc. During the debut season, Sochi began to experience financial problems, which became even more acute after the resignation in April 2015 of the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Alexander Tkachev. It is likely that this year will cease to exist a team from the regional capital - "Kuban", which played in the VHL. There the money "unexpectedly" ran out. The team, of course, is more important to the resort Sochi, and in June the debts were paid off. With all the drawbacks, HC Sochi is interesting both as one of the features of an all-season resort, and as just an interesting participant in the KHL championship, where fans can “break through” a pleasant trip, and where the same KHL All-Star Game can be held.

The most modest venue for the Games is the Ice Cube, a curling arena. The 3,000-seat stadium was within a billion rubles. After the Olympics, almost all domestic Russian curling competitions, training events of the Russian national teams, as well as the emerging super cups (qualifying tournaments for the European and world championships) were transferred to it. The desire to load the facility turned out to be in abundance that some athletes were already tired of Sochi. In April 2015, the arena hosted the World Championship among mixed doubles (double-mixed) - in a discipline included in the program of the 2018 Olympics.

10. Last May saw the Russian curling championships and, in which I had a chance to participate.

If the decision to hold the Winter Olympics in the subtropics was absurd, then using the Olympic Park as a Formula 1 track should be recognized as an interesting way out. There are plenty of large concrete spaces around, expensive chain hotels and small guest houses - too, the airport is nearby. Within walking distance is the Black Sea. To go for a weekend in Sochi for the Russian Grand Prix, "touch the history" of the Olympics, swim in the sea and visit the mountains in Krasnaya Polyana - the public who has money should be satisfied. The number of wealthy people in Russia is enough and directing their flow to Sochi, forcing them to spend money on expensive pleasures (and F1 is always expensive) is a good option.

A year after the Games, the Wall of Champions of the Games was opened in the Olympic Park. By the way, the “Wall of Champions” is the name of the wall at the autodrome in Montreal, Canada, where in 1999 three Formula 1 champions crashed their cars at once. The Sochi wall consists of two pyramids, symbolizing the snow-capped mountains. The pyramids contain multi-colored plaques with the names of Russian Olympic and Paralympic medalists.

13. At the 2014 Paralympic Games, also held in Sochi, immediately after the Olympics, Russia confidently won the medal standings. Out of 80 medals, 30 gold, 28 silver and 22 bronze medals were won. The closest pursuer, Germany, has only 9 gold awards.

14. At the 2014 Olympics, 88 countries were represented, which is a new Olympic record for the winter games.

15. Russia became the first in the medal standings of the Games. Out of a total of 33 medals, 13 are gold, 11 are silver and 9 are bronze.

16. Near the Olympic rings - the object of constant photo shoots of tourists.

An indoor speed skating center with an Olympic 400-meter track is a rare phenomenon in the world. On the territory of the former USSR, there are such in (Belarus) and Astana (Kazakhstan). Russia had three: in Moscow ("Krylatskoye"), and Chelyabinsk ("Ural Lightning"). The facilities are extremely in demand for training and competition for speed skaters, as modern speed skating has gone under the roof. And so the fourth center was built in Sochi - "Adler-Arena". Alas, it was the only one of all the facilities of the Games redesigned, making a tennis academy. Of course, tennis in Sochi has a long tradition, but it can be practiced at other facilities that are not as unique as the speed skating center.

17. "Adler-Arena" is one of the most beautiful venues of the Games, because a speed skating stadium cannot be beautiful.

18. It is worth rejoicing for tennis, but it was really possible to find another place for the tennis academy. About 7.5 billion rubles were spent on the facility (2.5 times more expensive than analogues). One spectator seat in an 8,000-seat arena cost 925 thousand rubles.

19. Anna Chakvetadze finished with tennis and. Maria Sharapova surprisingly turned out to be one of the last torchbearers of the Olympic flame. It has nothing to do with Sochi, it is a summer sport, but come on! Born in Sochi, Olympic champion (Sharapova did not win the Olympics, even if they are not particularly quoted in tennis) and winner of Grand Slam tournaments Evgeny Kafelnikov left out of work. Ugly!

20. Between the "Adler-Arena" and "Iceberg" there is a training arena for figure skating - now it is the "Volosozhar and Trankova Figure Skating Center". Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov became Olympic champions in pair figure skating. Here is a training center for figure skating and short track speed skating. For example, in May 2015, the Russian national short track team trained there. There is also a mass skating for everyone.

21. The Iceberg is considered by many to be the most beautiful arena for the Games. This is definitely the most successful arena, as it hosted figure skating and short track competitions, where Russia won a scattering of medals. The 12-thousandth "Iceberg" cost 9 billion rubles - 2.3 times more expensive than analogues. At first, they wanted to transport it to another region, then convert it into a cycle track, and then they said that such a base is needed by athletes. Before the Games, the arena hosted the test Grand Prix Final in Figure Skating and the Russian Short Track Speed Skating and Figure Skating Championships. After the Olympics, figure skaters came here with the national championship only once. Representatives of both sports are no longer going to hold competitions at the venue. Only commercial ice shows put on their performances here. About the spending of the Olympics clearly.

The problem of the Olympic Park and its facilities is the remoteness from where people live. Directly from here to go from 40 minutes to one and a half hours - depending on traffic jams in Adler. Even from neighboring Adler, and the park is spread out behind it, it takes a certain time to get there. was good because all of its facilities are located close to residential areas and are people-oriented. Yes, by Kazan standards, something is located on the outskirts, but this is not an option from Sochi, where you need to go not just to another city, but even further. By the way, winter is also being built more or less within the city and not far from residential areas.

Nevertheless, they try to hold all kinds of events in the OI Park. In October 2014, for the first time in Russia, the Formula 1 Grand Prix took place on a local circuit. This year was marked by the Olympic Sky air show at the end of May, and in April racers competed here as part of the Russian Rally Cup stage. Sochi Autodrom also serves as the venue for the Arctic Cup stages of the Mitjet 2L series of body cars. On October 11, Sochi will again host Formula 1, with which a contract has been signed for races until 2020.

24. The fifth stage of the open championship of the Krasnodar Territory Mitjet 2L - "Victory Cup" took place on May 9 and 10. 9 cars took part in the race.

25. Igor Muravlev became the winner of the race in the Semi PRO category.

26. Shore of the Black Sea of the Imereti Lowland. Five minutes from the Olympic Park.

27. Abundance of fishermen. Do not forget that people live here.

28. There is an embankment from the park almost to the border with Abkhazia. It is pleasant to ride bicycles on it.

29. The road to the clouds. BAR, Jaguar and Joradn? :)

30. Black Sea.

31. A playground next to one of the hotels.

32. Bridge Resort is among the most decent local hotels. High quality but also very expensive. The food is excellent. If finances allow, feel free to choose it.

33. The hotel has several buildings, in addition to the main one. They are named after the world capitals: Tokyo, Beijing, Istanbul, Paris, London, Vienna, Sydney. I am glad to come back here.

34. In early May, the Russian national beach soccer team held their training sessions at the hotel site. Who does not know, unlike ordinary football, the guys are the strongest in the world. Russia has won the last two world championships, breaking the Brazilian hegemony. She also has a gold medal in the 2014 European Championship and four victories in the Euroleague. All the stars were in Sochi. Goalkeeper Andrey Bukhlitsky I remember very well, because at the coolest children's festival "Lokobol" we had a station (interregional tournament) named after him. It's funny that the captain of the national team Ilya Leonov, if I am not mistaken, I regularly wish you bon appetite at meals. At the end of the training camp, from 11 to 13 May, two teams of the Russian national team, as well as the national teams of Azerbaijan and Belarus, held a mini-tournament here called the RFU Cup. I thought to take a photo, but someone had already filmed for the BeachSoccerRussia portal and I decided to postpone the beach soccer photo shoot for the next time. It would be interesting, of course!

37. The mountains are already visible from Abkhazia, a part of Georgia controlled by an unrecognized government supported by Russia. The latter traditionally provides assistance to separatists - in addition to Abkhazia, in South Ossetia and Transnistria. There are those who like to travel to such territories, but it is safer to stay where at least some laws are in force.

40. Mountains in Abkhazia.

41. Nice!

42. Let's go back to the evening Olympic Park. Color and music fountain. Mediocre and monotonous repertoire. This is not Barcelona.

43. "Big" in the night. Notice how massive the staircase and the arena itself are. It takes a long time to get to your place from the parking lot or from the bus stop (in addition to a long trip from Sochi, for example).

Little has changed in the coastal cluster in the year since the Olympic Games. Only the Formula 1 track was added. The objects are all standing, outwardly they do not fall apart and are more or less exploited. The only exception is Fisht, an eternal construction site. The layout of all this is not the most successful, especially for subsequent operation, imperfections, endless fences and fences, empty checkpoints and parking lots - all this is there. And, of course, endless asphalt spaces, along which you walk and see no end.

44. "Fisht".

During the period of the Olympic Games, a number of media outlets came out with photo-selections of objects from past Games that are now not used. Like, and "them" objects are idle, such as an Olympic feature. Moreover, the selections contain the same arenas: Sarajevo-1984 (thirty years ago!), Athens-2004, Beijing-2008. To give as an example the capital of a country formed on the fragments of the former Yugoslavia and surviving a great war is very appropriate, yes. As well as remember the laziest nation in the EU, whose merits in organizing the Olympics the IOC decided to honor. About "winter" Vancouver, Turin or Salt Lake City, no one really remembers.

45. The park is deserted in the evening.

46. The queue is not too busy even to the Olympic rings.

47. Prepare to take the military oath of recruits CSKA sports company. Patriotic frenzy intensified in connection with the May 9 holiday. For several days in a row the same 10 songs about the war were played in the park from morning till night.

The main message of the country's leadership: facilities must be used. We manage to download sports so far. With unsportsmanlike things, things are not so rosy. Instead of adapting everything to a new life, demolishing something, rebuilding and repurposing something - everything remains as at the Games. As a gradually decrepit symbol of past victories. Several times a year, the old man will continue to dress up in a military jacket with awards, reminding him of how good it was once. The taking of the military oath by athletes and the amusing 8 goals of the head of state in the gala match of the Night Hockey League fit well into this series. Alas.

49. The hotel is behind several walls of fences. They make it uncomfortable.

Although the stadiums are busy, huge funds are spent on their maintenance. In Sochi, temperatures are above zero almost all year round, and it is very hot in summer. Ice complexes in the subtropics are overhead. Moreover, built on such a scale. At the same time, the internal debt of the Krasnodar Territory is about 130 billion rubles. Of course, it's great that several thousand children and young athletes have the opportunity to go to camps in Sochi, but at whose expense? The effectiveness of all this is very low. All over Russia it was possible to build tens of thousands of sports grounds, palaces and swimming pools, and maintain them for many years. Instead, they received a one-time event, whose effect on the country's image was scattered by her own hands just a couple of weeks after the end of the Games. The lucky ones will visit Sochi, but what should the rest of the residents do?

50. "Iceberg" is especially beautiful at night.

51. But looking at its decoration close up, then it is impossible to perceive it as the most beautiful object. Unsympathetic materials.

52. The Olympic Media Center has been built behind the Adler Arena, which can accommodate up to 8,000 people. In November 2014, it was there that the World Chess Championship Match was held between Norwegian Magnus Carlsen and Indian Viswanathan Anand.

53. Nearby is the most beautiful local hotel - Tulip Inn. Surprisingly, it is difficult to find places in it, despite the very high cost of rooms and an unfortunate location at the intersection of two highways.

Of course, like any sports fan who also works in it and sometimes even competes, I would like to come back here again. I don’t know in what capacity and for what event. Here it is warm, pleasant air, beautiful sea, there is a place for cycling, beautiful and majestic mountains in the distance - this is another reason to go to

2014 year.

Geographic characteristic

In the system of physical and geographical zoning of the Caucasus (Gvozdetsky, Smagina, 1986; Devdariani, 1986), the Imeretinskaya lowland is part of the Transcaucasian depression of the Colchis province (a subprovince of the Colchis foothills of the Sochi-Adler district, the continuation of which in Abkhazia is the North Colchis foothills district).

The Imeretinskaya lowland is part of a wide coastal plain between the Psou and Mzymta rivers. The plain is located in an altitude range from 0 to 50 m above sea level. The origin of the lowland is accumulative, it is composed of Pleistocene and Holocene alluvial, marine, lacustrine and bog deposits. The lowland is in places separated from the sea by a raised coastal sandy bank. In the foothill part, the Imeretinskaya lowland abuts against hills composed of rocks of the Paleogene and Neogene.

A feature of the area is the presence of deep bogs, which are overgrown and filled with silt and peat lakes. The Mzymta River had a significant impact on the formation of the Imeretinskaya Lowland, which, during periods of repeated large floods, formed narrow near-estuarine accumulations of pebbles far in front of the coastline.

On the territory of the lowland, before the construction of the Olympic facilities for the 2014 Olympics, there were settlements: Nizhne-Imeretinskaya Bay, state farms "Russia", "Yuzhnye kultury", and the village of Mirny.

Climate

In the area of the Imeretinskaya lowland, there is a rather high average annual air temperature of + 13 ° С, which is close to the average annual temperature of the planet. This territory, due to the high absolute humidity of the air and a decrease in effective radiation, has an average annual temperature 3 ° C higher in relation to the solar climate, and 3-5 ° - in relation to the mid-latitude sum of the annual radiation balance, which equates it to the regions located closer to the equator by 300-400 km. The average temperature of the coldest month in the village. Leselidze + 5.5 ° С, the number of frost-free days in this area is from 250 to 294.

Flora and fauna

The Imeretinskaya lowland is the only landscape of the Colchis lowlands and swamps for the territory of Russia, their extreme northern variant. As of 2009, the data of the analysis of the vegetation of the peat-boggy lowland, carried out in the Abkhazian part of the plain, showed that the floristic community with other phytolandscapes of Abkhazia is very low and amounts to 19% for alder forests and only 5.9% for the main core of wetland vegetation. characterized by sharp ecological localization. It should be noted the unique species of flora and fauna, known only in the Russian Federation, or mainly in the Imeretinskaya lowland. Several dozen species of plants and 17 species of various animals are listed in the Red Data Books of various levels.

Due to the geographical position of the Imeretinskaya lowland, the peculiarities of its landscape elements, unique avifaunistic communities have formed here. In total, 214 bird species were recorded on the territory of the Imeretinskaya lowland, most of which are wintering and migratory. The Imeretinskaya lowland is one of the few areas of the Black Sea region, where 26 rare bird species are found in the Red Book of Russia. From time to time in the Imeretinskaya lowland there were significant concentrations of wintering birds (up to 3 thousand individuals per 1 sq. Km), migrating to the Black Sea coast from the plains of the Ciscaucasia in cold, snowy winters. In such years, the interfluve of Psou and Mzymta is one of the few, and for some species the only stop and wait for unfavorable weather conditions.

The uniqueness of the Imereti lowland was recognized by the tsarist government, in 1911 it was assigned the status of a specially protected natural zone.

Currently, 179 bird species are found on the territory of the natural park; they nest here, winter or stop during migrations. 18 of them are included in the Red Book of the Krasnodar Territory and 16 species are included in the Red Book of the Russian Federation

Imeretinskaya lowland covers an area of about 1300 hectares.

On the territory of the lowland there are the remains of a Christian temple of the 9th-10th centuries, on the basis of which it is currently planned to arrange a museum.

One of the first in the area of the Nizhne-Imereti Bay by the Nekrasov Cossacks was the settlement of Marlinsky, most of whose population in 2011 was resettled to the settlement of Nekrasovskoye, since their houses and land plots were seized for Olympic needs.

Currently, the main sports facilities of the coastal cluster of the XXII Winter Olympics in Sochi, the Olympic Park, a theme park, a large number of hotels, and a railway station have been built on the territory of the Imeretinskaya Lowland. Also, at the mouth of the Mzymta, the port of Sochi Imeretinsky was built, which after the Olympics is planned to be converted into a yacht marina.

In order to preserve the status of a key ornithological territory of international importance, as well as to preserve, restore, and reproduce wildlife and their habitat, a natural ornithological park was created in the Imereti Lowland with a total area of 298.59 hectares. The natural ornithological park consists of 14 clusters, 6 of which are located on low-mountainous hills in the valley of the Psou River and 8 more - directly on the Imeretinskaya lowland.

An excerpt characterizing the Imeretinskaya lowland

Opposite Nicholas there were greenery, and there stood his hunter, alone in a hole behind a prominent hazel bush. The hounds had just been brought in, Nikolai heard the rare rut of a dog known to him - Voltorn; other dogs joined him, now falling silent, then again starting to drive. A minute later, a voice was heard from the island on the fox, and the whole flock, having fallen, drove along the screwdriver, towards the greens, away from Nikolai.
He saw galloping survivors in red hats along the edges of an overgrown ravine, he even saw dogs, and every second he was waiting for a fox to appear on the other side, on the green.
The hunter, who was standing in the pit, set off and released the dogs, and Nikolai saw a red, low, strange fox, which, fluffing up a pipe, hurriedly rushed through the greens. The dogs began to sing to her. As they approached, the fox began to wag in circles between them, making these circles more and more often and circling around itself with a fluffy pipe (tail); and then someone's white dog swooped in, and after it a black one, and everything mixed up, and the dogs became a star, with their backs apart, slightly hesitating. Two hunters galloped up to the dogs: one in a red cap, the other, a stranger, in a green caftan.
"What it is? thought Nikolay. Where did this hunter come from? This is not an uncle. "
The hunters fought off the fox and for a long time, without rushing, the footmen stood. Near them on chumburs stood horses with their saddle ridges and dogs lay. The hunters waved their hands and did something to the fox. From the same place the sound of a horn was heard - the agreed signal for a fight.
- It is the Ilaginsky hunter that is rebelling with our Ivan, - said Nikolai's striker.
Nikolai sent a stirrup to call his sister and Petya to him and walked at a step to the place where the drivers were gathering the hounds. Several hunters galloped to the place of the fight.
Nikolai dismounted from his horse, stopped beside the hounds with Natasha and Petya who had arrived, waiting for information about how the matter would end. A hunter with a fox in toroks drove out from behind the edge of the forest and drove up to the young master. He took off his cap from afar and tried to speak respectfully; but he was pale, panting, and his face was vicious. One of his eyes was hit, but he probably did not know it.
- What did you have there? Nikolai asked.
- How, from under our hounds, he will poison! And my bitch caught it. Go, sue! Enough for the fox! I'll roll him like a fox. Here she is, in toroks. Do you want this? ... - said the hunter, pointing to the dagger and probably imagining that he was still talking to his enemy.
Nikolai, without speaking to the hunter, asked his sister and Petya to wait for him and went to the place where this hostile Ilagin hunt had taken place.
The victorious hunter rode into the crowd of hunters and there, surrounded by sympathetic curious, recounted his feat.
The fact was that Ilagin, with whom the Rostovs were in a quarrel and process, hunted in places that belonged to the Rostovs according to the custom, and now, as if on purpose, ordered to drive up to the island where the Rostovs were hunting, and allowed his hunter to be hunted from under other people's hounds.
Nikolai never saw Ilagin, but as always in his judgments and feelings, not knowing the middle, according to rumors about the riot and willfulness of this landowner, he hated him with all his heart and considered him his worst enemy. Angrily agitated, he was now riding towards him, tightly gripping the arapnik in his hand, in full readiness for the most decisive and dangerous actions against his enemy.
As soon as he rode over the forest ledge, he saw a fat gentleman in a beaver cap on a fine black horse, accompanied by two stirrups, advancing towards him.
Instead of an enemy, Nikolai found in Ilagin a respectable, courteous master, who especially wished to meet the young count. Having approached Rostov, Ilagin raised his beaver cap and said that he was very sorry about what had happened; that he orders to punish the hunter who allowed himself to bait from under other people's dogs, asks the count to be familiar and offers him his places for hunting.
Natasha, afraid that her brother would do something terrible, rode in excitement not far behind him. Seeing that the enemies bowed friendly, she drove up to them. Ilagin raised his beaver cap even higher in front of Natasha and, smiling pleasantly, said that the countess represented Diana both for her passion for hunting and for her beauty, about which he had heard a lot.
Ilagin, in order to atone for the guilt of his hunter, urged Rostov to go to his eel, which was a mile away, which he kept for himself and in which, according to him, there were hares. Nikolai agreed, and the hunt, which had doubled in size, moved on.
It was necessary to go to the Ilaginsky eel in the fields. The hunters leveled off. The gentlemen rode together. Uncle, Rostov, Ilagin secretly glanced at other people's dogs, trying not to be noticed by others, and anxiously looked for rivals for their dogs between these dogs.
Rostova was particularly struck by her beauty as a small, chistopovaya, narrow, but with steel muscles, a thin pincer (muzzle) and rolling black eyes, a red-footed bitch in Ilagin's pack. He had heard about the playfulness of the Ilagin dogs, and in this beautiful bitch he saw a rival to his Milke.
In the middle of a sedate conversation about this year's harvest, which Ilagin started, Nikolai pointed out to him his red-footed bitch.
- You have a good bitch! He said in a casual tone. - Frisky?
- This one? Yes, this is a kind dog, catches, ”Ilagin said in an indifferent voice about his red-footed Erza, for which he gave three courtyard families to a neighbor a year ago. - So you, Count, do not boast of their thrashing? - he continued the conversation he had begun. And considering it polite to repay the young count in kind, Ilagin examined his dogs and chose Milka, which caught his eye with its width.
- This black-footed one is good at you - okay! - he said.
- Yes, nothing, jumping, - answered Nikolai. "If only a seasoned hare ran into the field, I would show you what kind of dog this is!" he thought, and turning to the stirrup said that he was giving the ruble to the one who suspected, that is, he would find a lying hare.
“I don’t understand,” Ilagin continued, “how other hunters are envious of animals and dogs. I'll tell you about myself, Count. I am amused, you know, to take a ride; here you will move in with such a company ... already what is better (he again took off his beaver cap in front of Natasha); and this, to count the skins, how many brought - I do not care!
- Well yes.
- Or so that I would be offended that someone else's dog will catch, and not mine - I just have to admire the persecution, right, Count? Then I judge ...
“Atu is his,” came a drawn-out cry of one of the stopped greyhounds at that time. He stood on a half-mound of stubble, holding up the arapnik, and once again repeated a drawn-out: - A - that - his! (This sound and the raised arapnik meant that he sees a hare lying in front of him.)
“Ah, I suspect, I think,” Ilagin said casually. - Well, let's poison, Count!
- Yes, you have to drive up ... yes - well, together? - Nikolay answered, peering at Erza and at the red Scolding uncle, at two of his rivals, with whom he had never managed to equalize his dogs. "Well, what if they cut off my Milka from my ears!" he thought, moving towards the hare next to his uncle and Ilagin.
- Mature? - asked Ilagin, moving towards the suspicious hunter, and not without excitement looking around and whistling to Erza ...
- And you, Mikhail Nikanoritch? - he turned to his uncle.
Uncle rode with a frown.
- What should I meddle with, because yours are a pure march! - in the village for the dog paid, your thousandths. You measure yours, and I'll see!
- Scold! Na, na, he shouted. - Swine! - he added, involuntarily expressing with this diminutive his tenderness and the hope placed on this red dog. Natasha saw and felt the excitement hidden by these two old men and her brother, and she herself was worried.
The hunter was standing on a half-hill with a raised arapnik, the gentlemen were approaching him at a step; the hounds walking on the very horizon turned away from the hare; the hunters, not gentlemen, also drove off. Everything moved slowly and sedately.
- Where does your head lie? - asked Nikolai, approaching a hundred paces to the suspecting hunter. But before the hunter had time to answer, the hare, sensing the frost by tomorrow morning, did not lie down and jumped up. A flock of hounds on bows, with a roar, rushed downhill after the hare; from all sides the greyhounds, who were not in packs, rushed to the hounds and to the hare. All these slow-moving hunters are scammers shouting: stop! knocking down dogs, greyhounds shouting: huh! guiding the dogs, they galloped across the field. Calm Ilagin, Nikolai, Natasha and uncle flew, not knowing how and where, seeing only the dogs and the hare, and only being afraid to lose sight of the course of the persecution at least for a moment. The hare was caught seasoned and playful. Jumping up, he did not immediately gallop, but moved his ears, listening to the scream and stomp that suddenly came from all sides. He jumped ten times not quickly, letting the dogs approach him, and finally, choosing the direction and realizing the danger, put his ears and rushed at all his feet. He lay on the stubble, but in front there were greenery, on which it was marshy. The two dogs of the suspect hunter, who were closest to all, were the first to look and lay behind the hare; but they had not yet moved far to him, when the Ilaginskaya red-footed Erza flew out from behind them, approached the dog of distance, with terrible speed she kicked, aiming at the hare's tail and thinking that she had grabbed it, rolled head over heels. The hare arched its back and gave it even faster. From behind Erza came a wide-backed, black-footed Milka and quickly began to sing to the hare.
- Honey! mother! - Nikolay's triumphant cry was heard. It seemed that Milka was about to hit and catch the hare, but she caught up and swept away. Rusak settled down. The beautiful Erza once again inhabited and hung over the tail of the hare, as if trying on how not to make a mistake now, to grab the back thigh.
- Erzanka! sister! - I heard Ilagin crying, not his own voice. Erza did not heed his pleas. At the very moment, as it was necessary to expect that she would grab the hare, he shook and rolled out to the line between greens and stubble. Again Erza and Milka, like a drawbar pair, leveled off and began to sing to the hare; at the turn it was easier for the hare, the dogs did not approach him so quickly.

The forest is cut - the chips fly. This Russian proverb becomes relevant every time important government construction projects come into contact with the daily life of the country's inhabitants. The global construction projects of the 20th century destroyed many unique topographic objects. Many cities, villages, villages, monasteries, temples, ancient necropolises perished in obscurity.

So, during the creation of the Ivankovskoye reservoir, more than 100 settlements were flooded, including the ancient city of Korcheva. Many churches were blown up under the pretext of flooding, including a unique Old Believer church in the village of Kuznetsovo (now Konakovo), which you can read in more detail on our website.

Today, serious changes in the historical landscape have occurred in Imereti lowlandlocated near the city of Sochi, in the area of construction of sports facilities for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The history of the Imereti lowland is associated with the Old Believers, in particular, the "Nekrasovites". They appeared in Russia at the beginning of the 18th century, were persecuted for two centuries and were forced to leave for the possession of Turkey. After the revolution of 1905-1907. they returned to their homeland. The first place of their settlement was the Sochi district of the Black Sea province - the least developed among other districts. As local historians point out, inviting the Nekrasovites, the authorities pursued a specific goal - to oust the Turks from the fishing industry and, most importantly, to suppress contraband from Turkey, disguised as cabotage (coastal shipping). And the Nekrasovites were not only good farmers and hunters, but also excellent fishermen and coasters.

Old Believers settled in Matrosskaya Shchel (near Golovinka), in Imeretinskaya Bay and Babuk-Aul. Most of the Sochi Old Believers by the mid-20s. XX century left for the uninhabited Don lands. The reasons were the lack of suitable land for agriculture, infertility of soils, difficult living conditions in the upland zone, increased tax pressure. By the end of 1926 the Old Believers remained only in the Imeretinskaya Bay.

The uniqueness of the Imereti lowland was recognized by the tsarist government, in 1911 it was assigned the status of a specially protected natural zone. Here are located the only sections of the Colchis wetlands with unique flora and fauna in Russia. Many rare species of plants, birds and animals live in Imeretinka.

For the 2014 Winter Games, the Olympic Park was built in the Imereti Lowland (a central stadium and five ice palaces, as well as a media center). The construction of the Olympic Park in 2008 caused serious conflicts with the local population - Old Believers and Cossacks living in the area, which even led to violent clashes and arrests.

Fortunately, both sides found patience and endurance to avoid a tragic turn of events. Residents of the area received compensation to build their own housing in a new location. In 2010, three sites for new construction were allocated in the Adler region, the rest will be built up in the Khostinsky and Central regions.

It is interesting that part of the Old Believer cemetery remained from the old village, which was preserved by the builders. However, this cemetery is practically invisible from the ground. A passer-by who does not know about its existence can walk a few meters from the ancient necropolis and not notice it. Access to the cemetery is open, and former residents of the Imereti Valley can visit it.

Chairman of the Old Believer Community Dmitry Drrofichev now he says: “As a result, the Old Believers' settlement Morlinsky was moved a kilometer higher from the sea. But it was not possible to level the cemetery to the ground: the people with their chests blocked the road to the bulldozers. "

Today we publish unique photographs of the Old Believer necropolis of the Imeretinskaya Valley, taken by blogger Alexei Nadezhdin and photographer

The Olympic Park was built exactly where I once loved to walk and next to the bay in which I always swam in splendid isolation.
Several times I tried to follow the same route and find my once favorite place. Almost succeeded.

There is no picture in the daytime, to put it mildly - glass, concrete and asphalt with rare splashes of greenery. However, the sunset sun works wonders, and if you are going for a walk there, then go towards the evening. At the end of the post there will be pictures before, and now some fresh photos with explanations.

For starters, an inspiring sea view from a large ice palace

Exactly in this place there was an emerald-green plain and reeds higher than mine 172 (the only Colchis swamps in Russia are a stopping place for migratory birds and one of the key ornithological territories of Russia).
Now the tile is vibrating underfoot (I still haven't figured out the reason for the vibration), and a view of 3 structures:
On the left is a large ice palace, on the right is the Shaiba ice arena, the farthest in the center is the Fisht stadium.

The stadium got its name from the mountain peak of the same name in the western part of the Main Caucasian ridge (translated from the Adyghe language, the word "fisht" means "white head")

Mountain View. The painted hangar on the right is the back of the Fisht stadium. And behind the tourists there are trees, see? This is an Old Believer cemetery fenced off with a high fence, it is located between the Fisht stadium and the torch square.

Sea view from the same place.

Directly on the course, there are new houses on Parusnaya Street, there used to be a summer cottage settlement there.

Another sea view.

Reflection of a sunset in a large ice palace. His glazing is a secret. During the day, the glass is mirrored and nothing but the reflection of the surrounding space is visible there. As soon as it starts to darken, the mirror properties gradually disappear and you can already look inside.

Sea view from the inside, very futuristic building.

View from the end, the wall of the large ice rink in section, so to speak). These metal laces are clad on the outside with glass and are part of the supporting structure for the stadium roof.

And a couple of photos from the past.

Imeretinskaya lowland (2006), untouched by the construction site, see what color the sea is in the lower left corner, there was the purest water in the Sochi region. Photo taken

Now this place looks like this, there is simply no greenery. Photo from here

The same place in 2010, the construction site has already been deployed, fenced off ... and carefully guarded!

Interesting from whom? There were several such installations along the perimeter of the construction site.

There will be no conclusions yet, I showed you only a tiny piece of a huge territory. To be continued, as well as my personal opinion about what we have lost and what we have gained.
As they say, don't switch.

The Olympics have passed, and the strength test of all coastal Olympic facilities has passed. The terrain passed the test in winter, with competitions and tourists. What about now? In the Imeretinskaya lowland, preparations for the Formula 1 competition are in full swing, and they are already swimming on the shore.

How does this place look now? We'll see?

1. The coastal cluster of Olympic venues is the quietest and most deserted place today.

2. When looking in all directions - empty. Rare, rare people run by.

3. In the center, everything is smooth and clean.

4. Rare visitors are photographed for memory.

5. In most open spaces, only traces of construction equipment are visible.

6. But why is it so empty here? Because people simply have nothing to do here? Not only.

7. For example, let's take a look at the tracks made in the colors of the Olympiad rings. There are few people here. And they go to the open exits. It is difficult to tell from the photographs, but in fact the territory of the construction site of the race track is fenced. Plus, there is a strange fence around the territory, even in those places where you don't need to build anything.

8. Is that why no one is here? There is a fence behind the houses.

9. Why is there nobody in the square? Because to enter here you need to forgive two fences with holes.

10. And all this despite the fact that in the center of the square there is a mini-cafe and some entertainment. I still don't understand why all this is fenced off.

11. Against the backdrop of a large ice arena, you can see some building materials. In this part, almost everything is ready for the racing track. Rare places of work - turns and former lawns.

12. The closest hotel to the place. Apparently, the demand for large numbers is now minimal.

13. Rare cars in this area - builders and organizers of the open day in Sochi.

14. Here is the fence.

15. And here is the end of sports facilities and a lonely car in front of the hotel. To get here, you need to know all the open passages.

16. The future attraction is an amusement park.

17. Hotel "Azimut".

18. Moving from the Olympic facilities to the Black Sea coast. The passage consists of two demolished sections of the fence near the guard's booth.

19. And here is the sea!

20. On May 16, people swam here.

21. In this area, the water was very clean, in contrast to the place where the Mzymta flows into the sea.

22. A beautiful promenade with a separate bike path stretches along the entire coast.

23. The bike path was in little demand.

24.

25. Various small design elements.

26. We are moving towards the border with Abkhazia. The embankment narrows a little.

27. There were definitely a lot of people - fishermen!

28. Afternoon, the air temperature is above +30, and they are here!

29.

30. And here's what I liked least of all. When improved, the embankment becomes sandwiched by fences. There are more people here, nearby are old residential buildings, hotels with tourists. And you feel squeezed into some strange framework.

31. Somewhere there arrived.

32. And here it seems like you need to sit on a bench and admire the sea. But who would like to admire the sea if there is a fence with thick rods at the eye level of an ordinary person?

33. And behind the fence the view is much better.

34.

35. And finally - a piece of the old part of this place. Historically, there were state farms here. One large area is called "Sovkhoz Russia".

36. And with this I will end today's story!
