Cable car, Sochi - "Cable car, Rosa Khutor, Sochi". Rosa Khutor ski resort in sochi, cable car to rose peak

In this part, we will talk about a walk on the ski lifts in the mountains in Rosa Khutor, in fact for which we dropped in for the last three days of vacation in Sochi.

1. Our journey began from the Adler railway station. This is a new station building built for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The new station building was built next to the old building and was built over the railway tracks. The construction of the new Adler station began in 2010 and was completed in 2013 a couple of months before the start of the 2014 Olympics. The new Adler station was inaugurated on October 28, 2013. The shape of the new building resembles an oncoming wave. The capacity of the Adler new railway station is from 2000 to 4000 passengers per hour. Solar panels are installed on the roof of the station, thanks to which heat is supplied.

2. The old building of the railway station of the Adler station was commissioned in 1954, even before the village of Adler became part of Greater Sochi (1961).
A large number of taxi drivers are circling in this place, ready to take you anywhere. We agreed with one of them to travel for 200 rubles. per person. The minibus cost about 130 rubles, but it takes a very long time to drive, since the route lies along the old route with stops in all settlements along the road. Last year we took a ride on it, which is still a pleasure :) The new route to Rosa Khutor is simply gorgeous, 35-40 minutes and we are there. The taxi driver offered the option of buying tickets for the lifts at the same prices as at the box office, but without queuing. According to him, there must be wild queues there. At the entrance to Rosa Khutor, there is a seller of these tickets by the side of the road. In general, we refused, there was no limit to the taxi driver's indignation :) Looking ahead, I will say that there were no queues, there are many ticket offices. Most likely, we would have been sold a ticket only for the first level of the ascent at the price of a ticket for three ascents (1300 rubles). Externally, tickets cannot be distinguished in any way, they are magnetic.

3. Here we are, beauty :)

4. The ubiquitous McDonald's is here too.

5. One of the branches of the lift.

6. A huge samovar greeted visitors at the entrance of one of the many cafes.

7. Tower of the building "City Hall", stylized as the tower of the Sochi railway station. Those interested can take a picture on the pedestal.

8. Bridge over the Mzymta river.

9. View of the river from the bridge, everything was under construction for the Olympics, there are just a lot of different hotels.

10. On the right is a multi-storey car park.

11. In the meantime, without hesitation, we bought tickets and went to the mountains.

12. A gorgeous view opens from the elevator cabin to the Mzymta floodplain.

13. here we walked last year.

14.

15. Branch of the ski lift "Olympia".

16. It is a mountainous Olympic village on the Rosa Plateau, 1170 m above sea level.

17.

18. On the balconies the flags of the countries from which the athletes participated in the Olympics and lived in these rooms hang.

19.

20.

21. Branch of the ski lift "Reserved Forest".

22. Rosa Shelter (upper station of the Olympia ski lift). Panorama, click-to-zoom.

23. I still have not figured out what kind of structure it is.

24.

25. And around the mountains.

26. Top in the clouds.

27.

28.

29. Going further, a view of the Olympic village.

30.

31. Later we will go to the very top of Rosa Peak, 2320 m above sea level.

32. There is a cafe at an altitude of 1350 m :)

33. We rode on closed lifts, now it's the turn for open lifts. We go through the tunnel to the open branch "Wolf Rock".

33. Ivan tea in color.

34. Uuuuhh rushed :)))

35. Mountain coolness, fresh air and gorgeous views, what else do you need?

36. Looks like fresh water supplies, an artificial reservoir.

37. Let's go back.

38. Landing on the "Wolf Scada" lift.

39.

40. At the very top there was heavy cloudiness, cold ...

41. In August, all the mountain slopes are in bloom, it would be here in May, if only the snow lay on the mountain tops.

42. Here, at an altitude of 2320 m, such devices arrive.

43. Nothing is visible below.

44. I don't know what the flowers are called.

45. Again Ivan tea.

46.

47.

48.

48. Restaurant "Height 2320", here "Zhatetskiy Gus" costs 350 rubles. 0.5 l.

49. For a long time I could not understand what it was, it turned out to be an anti-avalanche system.

50.

51.

52. For a moment the cloud left and the Olympic village below became a little visible.

53. Rosa Peak is one of the highest observation platforms in Sochi, accessible by gondola lift, with unique panoramic views of 360 degrees. - to the mountain ranges of Abkhazia and the Black Sea from the south, the Psekhako ridge from the north. All this is visible, unless of course there are clouds :)

53.

54.

55.

56.

57. The road to Aibga, you can ride a horse. We won't go there.

58. We will go to a stone pillar at an altitude of 2509 m, but that will be in the next part.

Rose Peak - the main point of our trip to Krasnaya Polyana - is not the highest point of the surrounding mountains (2320 meters, and in the line of sight, for example, there is a Stone Pillar with an elevation of 2509 meters above sea level), but a cable car rises here, and from here the most gorgeous panoramic views (including the Main Caucasian ridge). In a word - if you really go to Krasnaya Polyana to take a look, then you must climb Rosa Peak.

The cable car "Caucasian Express" goes to the very top, here, in addition to the lift, there is a restaurant "Height 2320" and all sorts of service premises:

At the top it is quite spacious and surprisingly comfortable (I expected that it would be cold and cold here, but no - about 15 degrees in combination with the sun - I walked calmly in one T-shirt - I didn't need a windbreaker). However, the weather here is said to be very changeable - so the day before it was about three degrees Celsius!
The beginning of the slopes is limited by such decorative fences, but they serve rather for the time when there is snow on the top (so that pedestrians do not accidentally roll):

Quite a lot of walking trails also start from here. Unfortunately, he did not clarify whether it is possible to walk freely on them or if accompanied by instructors is still desirable. In any case, people walking outside the tourist area were noticed:

The site at the top is a rather large "patch" in fact - despite a fair number of people, there was still such a feeling of silence and tranquility:

In the center of the glade there is a pile of snow, against the background of which everyone is photographed and children run along it. I don’t think that he was specially brought here, given that, without anyone else's help, the snow calmly lies on the slopes:

Observation deck:

Sawing selfies with denisanikin and djhooligantk - the only selfie I took during the trip - I think it was worth it!

If you look around the neighborhood, you can see smaller cable cars starting from here (more precisely, ending here) - this is purely for skiing. Also, with great surprise, I see grazing horses:

The main part of the mountain-skiing infrastructure remained below:

Krasnaya Polyana and the Mzymta river are barely distinguishable from here:

Rose Plateau is smaller, but still it seems very distant from here:

But the most important thing - what I can admire for a very long time - is of course the greatness of the Caucasus Mountains. It must be admitted that the altitude is not too high here, there are mountains even higher in the Caucasus. But even what I see here is impressive and I want to admire it for a long time: more and more

I cast one last look at the mountains and descend "from heaven to earth" - continue my journey through Sochi - this time we are heading towards the Imereti resort and the Olympic Park ...

The Rosa Peak observation deck is located on the territory of the Rosa Khutor ski complex, at an altitude of 2320 meters - the top of the Aibga mountain range. Not the most important one, as I understand it, because in the neighborhood there is also the Kamenny Stolb peak as much as 2509 meters high, where the lifts no longer go. On Rosa Peak, people unload to slide down one of the two slopes of the ridge. Even those who do not consider themselves an athlete and come to Rosa Peak in ordinary clothes have something to do.

The first is the Vysota 2320 restaurant, and the second is the Rosa Peak observation deck. You can also gaze at people with skis and snowboards or touch the special mountain equipment that creates trails, but the main thing why people come here is beauty.

I told about the restaurant in more detail and with photos in, but about Rose Peak I can write the following: if the sky is covered with clouds, you don't need to go here for beautiful views. Yes, this is an eerie banality, but we are all human, and we usually hope for the best outcome even in the most unfavorable environment. As in my case, when the first four days of my arrival were rich in rain, fog and cloudy sky. I climbed Rosa Peak several times, but I escaped purposefully without equipment, to gaze at the views and have tea in a restaurant - I escaped only once.

And already from the Olympic Village it was clear to me that there was most likely nothing to do above, and even if Rose Peak broke through the clouds, nothing would be visible from top to bottom. However, the Russian-Israeli maybe prevailed, and I went to the funicular. The entire ascent took at most 30 minutes with one change, which I was very happy about - some terribly sweaty comrades were riding with me in the cabin (winter, a lot of skiers). After catching the fresh air and knocking around with the athletes in the queue (in the morning there are really crowds like in the subway), I got off at the top, near the restaurant Height 2320. The observation deck Rosa Peak is located behind the restaurant.

A large space with railings and wooden decking is built on the edge of a cliff I never saw. The hopes that the clouds would dissipate with the morning sun did not come true, and I had to be content with two Bigfoot figures with skis and a board, as well as a diagram of the Caucasus Range. Of course, I did not give up so immediately and spent another hour and a half in the restaurant, drinking tea on herbs and looking out the window at the blinding white snow. I didn’t wait, I was upset and moved back to the ski lift, which slowly crawled down, and in ten seconds I suddenly found myself under a ceiling of gray clouds - and here I got my panoramic view of the ridge and valley. Even without peaks and in fits and starts - it was amazing!

Rose Peak in winter

In winter, there are mostly skaters, not goggles, after all, a winter resort. It seems to me that in winter, few people come here for a walk. And housing prices are more expensive, and there can be really a lot of people, especially on the days of events.

Rose Peak in Summer

But in the summer, everything is much simpler. There are many hikers who have come to wander the mountains on one hand, so there are mainly vacationers from Sochi and Adler, who came for one day (usually without an overnight stay) to simply climb Rosa Peak to the observation deck. Therefore, there are no queues for the lift, you can usually even take a ride in a cabin in splendid isolation to fully enjoy the silence and views.

Information to visit

In winter, you can climb here with a regular ski pass, which is bought for skiing. It is valid for the entire cable car, for all lifts in Rosa Khutor, including the recently opened South Slope. I highly recommend riding there, good and beautiful tracks. Be sure to take sunglasses in winter - the snow hurts your eyes and it is impossible to normally see anything around.

The price for a ski pass in winter depends on the month and the number of days required: 2650-2950 rubles per day per person. In the spring from April 9, 1500 rubles. If you take for several days at once, or a season, then the price of one day falls, and the cheapest is "Seasonal", but then you have to live in Sochi to beat it off.

In the summer, you simply buy a walking ski pass to the very top - Rose Peak. It costs 1590 rubles / person for 1 descent and 1 ascent, including the Edelweiss lift on the South Slope. It is also worth a ride there, because there are several beautiful waterfalls. Also, in the summer, they open a route to the Stone Pillar (2509 m), about 1-1.5 hours walk from Rosa Peak, I recommend.

1. The lower station of the cable car is called Rosa Dolina. I had to stand in a pretty decent line for a pass upstairs (in the fall of 2014 it cost 900 rubles). They give out a magnetic card that gives the right to drive to the top point - the Rose Peak mark.
The car soars up sharply, and the panorama of the resort town immediately opens up, tightly squeezed between the ridges surrounding the valley:

2. My first "adult" gondola cable car! Before that, there were trips on chair lifts in China, but the heights there are absolutely ridiculous.
After the first pass, the road goes over the gorge - in this place the height above the ground is 140 meters.

3. In my first trip to the Eurocabin, I experienced a little stress :) The cable car stopped for about seven minutes for technical reasons - exciting, despite the fact that there was no cause for concern.
Several times the gondola passes over the road built for the Olympic Games 2014 - it is claimed to be the highest in Russia (although I doubt it). Due to the complexity of the laying and the large number of artificial structures, it is called the "road of seven bridges".

4. And the first ski lift "Olympia" brought me to the mark "Rose Plateau" (1170 meters).

5.The Olympic Mountain Village is located here - during the 2014 Games, it accommodated 2,600 athletes from different countries.

6. "Rosa Khutor" was home to the participants of the alpine skiing, freestyle and snowboarding competitions.

7. Six months after the end of the Games, the flags of the countries represented by the Olympians still remained on the balconies of the buildings. As it is now, I cannot say. The buildings (there are about 50 of them) are built in the Alpine style - they involuntarily resemble Switzerland or the foothill regions of Italy.

In winter, accommodation here, next to the slopes, is probably very convenient - you don't need to waste time climbing, and a bonus - magnificent views from the balcony :)

9. "Rosa Shelter" with a restaurant near which it was not very crowded

10. Peruvians playing national music say hello to the Caucasus from the Andes :)

11. The second stage of the cable car - "Reserved Forest"

12. Rosa Khutor has the most favorable conditions for skiing - there are 94 kilometers of trails and 26 lifts at the disposal of tourists. Other resorts of Krasnaya Polyana cannot boast of such a variety of conditions.

13. Mark "Conversation", 1350 meters.

14. If you walk a little to the left from the station, you can take the "Volchya Skala" chair lift down to Rosa Stadium, where the skiers finished their performances.

15. But there were not so many people who wanted to ride it - I was afraid that the traffic would be closed, and I did not have enough time - I arrived in Krasnaya Polyana after the procedures in the sanatorium, already at lunchtime.

17. The third section of the cable car is called the "Caucasian Express" - the length of the route is 2370 meters, with an intermediate stop.

18. The most spectacular views! You can see a mountain lake (probably man-made - it’s very well shaped!) - "Rosa Stadium" with an Extreme Park next to it.

19. Rose Peak - 2320 meters! (By the way, the highest of the Krasnaya Polyana resorts - "Gornaya Karusel" is slightly inferior to it - 2200 meters, but the Gazprom lifts will take you only to a height of 1660).

22. This is my first time at such a height.

23. Interesting shadows from clouds on the slope of the Psekhako ridge

24. Despite the rather hot weather below (about +25), here, at the top - only +9. My hooded sweatshirt didn't really save me from the cold wind, I should have taken something warmer. But there were also those who went upstairs in T-shirts, T-shirts, without warm clothes. Oh, I did not envy them that day!

25. Peak Stone Pillar (2509 meters). It was possible to walk along the mountain path to the chair lift leading to its top - but, alas, in the afternoon it was already closed.

26. I decided to just wander around the area a little and admire the views - when I get to be so high again.

28. "Rosa Khutor" at a glance - in the center of "Rosa Plateau", above it, on the slope of the opposite Psekhako ridge - objects of Gazprom's "Alpika-Service"

29. It would be interesting to come back here in winter - I am sure that the views with snow are even more spectacular

33. Warning signs everywhere

34. The beginning of the trekking trail to the Stone Pillar looks like this

Which is located just above Krasnaya Polyana, and from where the gondola cable car begins, raising to a height 2320m above sea level.

To climb to the very top, you need to make 3 transplants:

- Olympia (560m - 1150m above sea level)

(here is the Olympic Village where athletes will live)

- Protected Forest(1150-1340m)

- Caucasian Express (1340-2320m)

rising to the highest point of Rosa Peak, 2320 meters above sea level

These are three gondola cable cars located in series. Access to the cable car through the turnstiles, and just like in the Moscow metro, you need to "pick" tickets. There is a man at the landing who helps to get into the cabins.

I felt fine in the booth, but both of my friends were seasick. At the very top, where the clouds are walking, it can get pretty cool. I took a blouse for my child, but we were on a clear sunny day, so we didn't freeze, although the temperature was significantly lower than below ...

Price - 850r.

My child is 5.5 years old, for her travel was free. There was a curiosity at the landing, because it turned out that for a child, you also need to take a free ticket... I had to go back to the ticket office for a ticket.

This cable car was recently opened to everyone. Before that, a chairlift operated,

which is slightly lower. It has not yet been dismantled, so you can see it from the new booths.

From the very upper observation deck of Rose Peak stunning views of the Caucasian and Gagra ridges open.
