Makarska and Tučepi on the map. The Croatian city of Tucepi is the southernmost resort in the Makarska Riviera. Central dalmatia - beach paradise on the adriatic

We were lucky with the weather, the clouds over Tucepi got up only once, and then, when we were on the bus moving towards Split and Trogir on an excursion to look at the palace of Diocletian.

A nice town with beautiful clean pebble beaches, clear water and a number of hotels along the beach. It is located 5 km from the city of Makarska and stretches 3 kilometers along the coast, covered with alpine pine. A strong winter wind of the “borax” inclines the pines towards the sea, and the beaches are shaded from the sun by shade in the first half of the day, leaving the opportunity to remain in the shade in the second half, you only need to move the towel or sunbed a couple of meters to the side.

Pines, palm trees, oleanders and bougainvillea, sun and sea. The temperature is about 30, water is 25. Quickly changed in the room, separate entrance, from the balcony you can reach oranges. The tourist complex consists of two-story bungalows located on terraces that go down to the water itself, only a promenade to cross. They learned from the minister where it is better to have lunch, and in the Marina restaurant they raised their glasses: well, for Tucepi!

MIDDLE DALMATION - BEACH PARADISE ON THE ADRIATIC

And then they bought an inflatable plastic mattress, and - to the beach! And there it’s good, the kids frolic, pensioners relax, topless girls sunbathe, funny parachute snakes fly, they sell corn and handmade tablecloths.

Squirrels run in the pines, fishing boats sway in the morning on the turquoise surface, in the evenings there is a disco for tots and ethnic music concerts, vernissages unfold on the promenade, and the decorated ships go on amusement walks around the islands. And we were there, on the beach in the shade of an alpine pine, they drank wine and brandy ...

They took several excursions from the representatives of Asentrevel, sailed independently to the islands. They ate sweet ice (ice cream) and black risotto with cuttlefish, mussels and hussar kebabs. And at the hotel they were fed for slaughter, pineapples in rum with ice cream were especially remembered. Drinking (or "mineral", as her English-speaking citizens call her) water flows from the tap.

The Croatian city of Tucepi was founded before our era by the Illyrians and since then only two sights have remained - the church of St. Jura and the tomb of one of the Venetian leaders. Since then, the city has grown significantly - the tourism business has developed and now Tucepi is a modern resort city, which is the southernmost in the Makarska Riviera. In Tucepi no more than four thousand inhabitants live.
Tučepi from the coast is closed by Biokovo Mountain, and from the sea by the rocky islands of Hvar and Brac. Because there is always good weather - calm and quiet. Due to the excellent weather conditions, Tucepi is popular among those who come to relax in with their families and young children.
To get to Tucepi, in Makarska you need to take the minibus, which runs once every half an hour. Walking between these cities takes approximately 40 minutes. The distance between the cities of Makarska and Tucepi is only three kilometers.
The beach in this city extends for three kilometers and is mostly pebbled here. The bottom of the sea is very flat - this is another plus for those who are resting with children. Beautiful Dalmatian pine trees, which have chosen the coast and with a dense wall enclose the beach from the rest of the world, serve as umbrellas for vacationers in sunny weather.
Since the city is small, there are few hotels, but almost all of them have pools and interesting interiors.
For those who want to see the sights, there are excursions during which you can see the ancient Roman villas, the church of St. Jura, the Cathedral of St. George.
To the delight of Russian tourists, it is rather difficult to meet compatriots in Tucepi, however, excursions that are conducted in Russian are somewhat more expensive than the others.
From Tucepi it is possible to go to other cities of Croatia, for example, Split is a magnificent city where you can visit a large number of various ancient historical monuments and attractions, you can also go to. The excursion to Dubrovnik is very exciting, since on the way to this city it is necessary to cross the state border with Bosnia and, by coincidence, it is during this border crossing that the bus must make a technical stop. Therefore, having traveled to Tucepi, you can also bring souvenirs from Bosnia. In the place where the bus stops, they accept both Croatian and Bosnian currencies, and euros.
All excursions provided in the city are very interesting and, for the most part, clearly organized.
For those who want to go fishing and go on a picnic, excursions to the islands of Hvar and Brac are open. Those looking for the thrill and adrenaline rush are invited to go rafting on the Cetina River.
For those who are not tired enough during the day, various entertainment venues open at night.

Hello!

Today we arrived in Tucepi.

Honestly, I don’t really want to pay 7-8 kuna per hour, so we always try to find free parking everywhere. In Tucepi it was possible to do this. If, turning towards Tucepi from the Split-Dubrovnik highway, turn to the side (that is, to the right :)), then after driving for a while in a straight line and turning to the left, you will have a choice: to park for a fee or for free. Moreover, there are several times more free seats :) This miracle is observed at the Jadran Hotel, which has been abandoned for the time being. I don’t know what will happen next year, but in this there it’s quietly peaceful and even a shadow - all for nothing.
We parked and went for a walk ... Or rather, to work :)

Although the Yadran Hotel is abandoned, the beach near it looks pretty decent. And the people are practically nobody. Which is understandable: most tourists prefer apartments in the center, and existing hotels such as Neptun are a bit off.

By the way, I’ll immediately write my conclusion: if you have a small child, and you plan to take a stroller with you to the beach, then you should ideally get to the road, of course. Or beyond the road, but still in the center. To be able to do without steps, and to the sea the “roadside” center is much closer to similar outskirts. Along the edges there will be a need to use the underground passages, and the steps are full there.

Well, what about one of the best places in Croatia? :) Yes, Tucepi - that’s it! A bunch of cafe-restaurants, 4 km of pebble beaches and almost all of them are under pine trees. The official site of this wonderful resort.

There are two playgrounds: the Alga hotel has a standard one (approximately the same in and), and in the center there is an Art Nouveau style :) It looks very funny and I regretted that we had no Masha.

In the center there are ATMs, a pharmacy and a tourist office with maps, booklets and schedules of buses and ferries.
Several supermarkets: there are Konzum and Studenac.

There are trampolines in the area of Neptune and Alga, there are courts and even a football field.

By the way, it was in Tucepi that we met the police several times with radars. So do not break the rules and follow the speed limit!

For holidays with children in Tucepi, we would advise you to choose the area of Alga and Neptune: beach, pines, proximity to the sea, lack of steps, a playground, trampolines - in general, everything you need. Or in the area of the 90th house numbers on Kraj Street - the same thing, but without trampolines. Plus a selection of supermarkets.
In the area of Kamena Street, the pines end, so the choice for vacationers is this: either relax on the beach closer to the villa, but under an umbrella, or walk on the beach to the center under the pine trees. By the way, umbrellas and sunbeds are in Tucepi: an umbrella - 20 kunas, a sunbed - 25 kunas, all together - 35 kunas.
