Unusual hotel names. The strangest hotels in the world. Capsule Inn Kinshicho Hotel in Tokyo, Japan

During our last trip to St. Petersburg, we talked a lot with the managers of large and mini hotels about how the hotel business is organized in our country. With the help of you and the online hotel reservation service, we tried to find unusual hotels in Moscow. Yes, there are fewer such hotels in the capital than in St. Petersburg, but they are still there :). Let's look at them together ...

Be sure to read the post to the very end and then you will learn how to get a discount in 7% , when booking any hotel (applies not only to Moscow hotels, but the whole world!) on!

: Open room rates from 6,500 rubles to 12,500 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 4,500 rubles.

 1. This small boutique hotel is located in one of the side streets near the Mayakovskaya metro station, a 3-minute walk from Tverskaya Street. It was opened in 2009, in a mansion that was rebuilt “from scratch” in the image and likeness of Chenonceau Castle in France.

 2. The hotel has a total of 9 very comfortable rooms, 4 categories (Suite, Junior Suite, Standard, Single)

 3. In the corridors hang paintings brought from France, fresh flowers - everything is quiet and calm. Such quiet corners in the very center of Moscow must still be sought.

 4. The rooms have complimentary tea and coffee, all bath amenities, including bathrobes and slippers.

 5. Yes, the hotel itself is ideal for celebrating weddings or some small special occasions. At least all the conditions for this have been created: there is a cozy indoor courtyard and a chic restaurant ... and of course a stunning honeymoon room with champagne, a fruit basket from the hotel and a late check out.

 6. Breakfast is not included in the room rate and costs 600 rubles. If you do not want to eat at the hotel, there are a lot of caffeines and restaurants of all stripes around. It's hard to stay hungry in the area :).

 7. By the way, the hotel positions itself as a non-smoker. Wi-Fi throughout the hotel is free and pretty nimble.

8. We couldn’t try anything in the restaurant, as it was prepared for a banquet, but of course everything looks very “expensive and rich” :).

 9. We visited Shenonoso in March, when there was still snow. But judging by the stories and some photos, in the summer the courtyard turns into a small cozy garden with a fountain and an outdoor cafe. You will definitely need to look there on a summer Saturday evening :).
Of the small nuances - the hotel does not have its own parking, so it can be problematic to leave a car on weekdays.

: Open room rates from 6080 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 4400 rubles.

 10. Honestly, when we were going to this hotel, it seemed like a "scoop" with sullen porter and slightly scruffy walls. And in the room there must have been a decanter with faceted glasses. I don’t know where we got such associations from, but in fact the hotel pleasantly surprised us.

 11. The hotel opened, it’s scary to imagine, already in 1952. Now it has 108 numbers, 6 categories.

 12. One can immediately see how rich his story is. That's how you settle in the room, lie on the bed, and Chuck Norris himself may have slept on it :).

 13. The building itself must have been seen by many of you, if not live, then at the cinema. By the way, historical films are often shot here, because the entourage of many rooms accurately reflects the spirit of the time.

 14. Inside there are quite a lot of different cafes, billiards, restaurants and just nooks where you can either talk with guests or just plunge into the era of your grandparents.

 15. The rooms impressed us primarily by the height of their ceilings. 3.70 and higher - this is really impressive! All windows face either the courtyard or a quiet street.

 16. Parquet, we were told, has remained since then and is regularly rubbed by specially trained people. The hotel also has an art gallery.

 17. All rooms have all kinds of bath amenities, free Wi-Fi and tea, coffee and water. Also for all guests provides excellent parking.

 18. The interior certainly looks grandiose. To preserve and maintain the historical image, a group of restorers are working on the staff of the hotel. And this is not an empty phrase, the condition of the hotel is really amazing.

 19. We liked this table. You can immediately see the big business behind him once decided :).

20. At one time, in Moscow, in such hotels it was fashionable to rent out some rooms for offices. Naturally, this caused some inconvenience to the guests. The hotel "Soviet" now the entire number of rooms is used exclusively for its intended purpose.

 21. The Club Suite, by the way, can also be obtained as a gift from the hotel. To do this, just celebrate the wedding in a local restaurant :). And the phone in the photo, by the way, is working - it’s checked.

 22. Breakfast is included in the price of all room categories.

 23. In the evening, the hotel plays live music - harp or piano.

24. A restaurant in which shows are held every evening.

: Open room rates from 550 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 550 rubles.

 25. The Factory Hostel is probably located in the very center of modern Moscow culture - on Red October. Still, this is a unique opportunity to live for only 500 rubles a day, just a 7-minute walk from the Kremlin.

 26. In total, the hostel, which has been operating for a whole year, has 14 rooms of 4 categories (2, 4, 6 and 8 beds).

 27. The atmosphere there is laid-back and even a little creative. On the day of our shooting, a host of the KVN team lived in the hostel, which conducted their rehearsals right there :).

 28. Inside there is everything for a full student life :). Free Wi-Fi, TV, microwave, refrigerator - in general a kind of student paradise :). By the way, even a case is known when a young man from America met in this hostel a girl from somewhere in Siberia, and the other day they played a wedding .. oh how! :).

 29. There are also 2 double rooms with private facilities in the room.

 30. The interior of the Factory was designed by young artists, so in some places it turned out informally and impudently.

: Open room rates from 3200 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 2800 rubles.

 31. The hotel is located next to Red Square, in Theater Passage. It was opened by a group of designers, artists and actors in the summer of 2009.

 32. In total, 23 numbers of 4 categories were discovered.

 33. The hotel occupies the third floor of the unique historical and architectural ensemble of the Chinese baths of the merchant Khludov built in 1891. And on the second floor there is a cafe - theater-club of Alexey Paperny “Workshop”. A small nuance: apparently on Fridays and Saturdays in some rooms the hotel is a bit noisy.

 34. Design rooms are the pride of the hotel. They were painted by famous Argentine artists.

 35. The rooms have all bath accessories, except bathrobes and slippers.

36. Breakfast is included in the room rate, but rather simple.

 37. The design of all the rooms that we managed to see was very pleasing - lively and unusual.

 38. Some rooms without windows, however, are cheaper.

 39. There is twilight in the corridors and a certain mystery is directly felt.

40. A long time ago we didn’t ride such elevators 🙂

And: The open cost of rooms in a hostel is from 700 rubles, and in a hotel from 3200 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 600 rubles and 3000 rubles.

 41. The hostel and hotel Basilica are located in a quiet side street near the Kitai-Gorod metro station. The short distance from the metro (20 minutes on foot) is probably the only controversial point.

 42. In total there are 14 rooms of 3 categories (2, 4 and 6 places)

 43. Honestly, for the first time in hostels we saw so spacious and clean rooms. You can’t even say that the hostel is more than 2 years old :).

44. All amenities are in decent condition. By the way, shower accessories are included in the room price (not so often in hostels).

 45. There is a kitchen with a microwave, TV, and of course free Wi-Fi. If you wish, you can order a simple breakfast in your room for 200 rubles.

 46. Internal courtyard, in the summer a tent is installed here, which hosts exhibitions, picnics, etc.

 47. Well, this is the number of the Hotel Basilica, which is located in the next building. In total there are 11 rooms (standards and suites), costing from 3,000 to 4,000 rubles.

: Open room rates from 2900 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 2400 rubles.

 48. This small hotel (12 rooms, standard and comfort) is ideal for those who come to Moscow on business in the Warsaw or Kashira highway area. If you plan to walk in the center, then this option will probably not be very convenient.

 49. The hotel is young (all year) in a quiet residential area. Honestly, we expected a slightly larger binding of the hotel's design to the name, but ... In general, an ordinary, solid hotel in a quiet area.

50. Here is a tree growing there.

 51. Kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, kettle, etc. - everything is free. If you wish, you can order breakfast in a room worth 400 rubles. Here you need to understand that in this area there is no caffeine and restaurants on every corner, so such a kitchen can be very useful.

 52. Comfort differs from the standard in a larger area, the furniture is slightly better and the TV is slightly larger :). The rooms have all bath amenities except bathrobes.

53. Yes, by the way, the hotel positions itself as a “non-smoker”, but inside the hotel is equipped with a “smoking room”. Wi-Fi in rooms is free.

Today we would like to present you an overview of the 10 most unusual hotels in the world.

1. Giraffe Manor Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya

This amazing guesthouse is probably the most wonderful place on our planet, where you can not only relax from worries, but also chat with the wildlife of Africa. The mansion is a haven for the endangered species of Rothschild giraffes, which are listed in the Red Book and are on the verge of extinction.

Every morning you can watch a funny picture: giraffes are allowed out for a walk, and the windows in the guesthouse are specially open by this time, and everyone can treat the graceful animals with some fruit from their table, as well as take an exclusive photo for memory. Little travelers are especially delighted at this beginning of the day.

The unique estate in 1932 was built by David Duncan, choosing a place for it near the capital of Kenya, the city of Nairobi. In the 60s of the last century, the estate changed several owners until in 1974 it was bought by a hereditary nobleman from the ancient Scottish clan Jock Leslie-Melville, who settled here with his wife, an American citizen of Betty.

This philanthropist is famous for setting up the African Endangered Wildlife Fund (AFEW). At first, Jock and Betty got two Rothschild giraffe cubs, and over the entire existence of the estate on its territory several generations of these beautiful and noble animals have grown.

The idea of hosting tourists who want to live in it for some time was realized by Betty after the death of her husband, and now the Giraffe Manor Hotel has been a success with all travelers to Africa.

There are six rooms in total, so there isn’t a lot of people here, and the interior of the house is decorated in the style of Scottish hunting lodges.

Many tourists come here not for the first time with children of different ages and stay for a week. Therefore, in the morning, while feeding animals with hands through open windows, the whole old manor is announced with enthusiastic cries and iridescent children's laughter.

Kenya is famous for its diversity of protected flora and fauna, and here you can enjoy not only communication with the endangered species of giraffes. You should visit the picturesque lakes Nakuru and Bogoria, whose surroundings are the habitat of a large population of pink flamingos.

2. The Library Hotel, Manhattan, New York

This original Manhattan hotel is just a block from New York Central Station, the largest US city. In the immediate vicinity of it are prestigious shops, fashionable restaurants.

Just three blocks and fifteen minutes of leisurely walking, you will find the famous Times Square, Broadway theaters and the Radio City Music Hall.

It offers its guests a luxurious library, an excellent restaurant and a free buffet area with wines and cheese every night. All rooms are equipped with minibars and DVD players.

Individually selected books are offered, plus free Wi-Fi, a large flat-screen cable TV for every taste and an iPod dock. Bathrooms include slippers and bathrobes.

Guests can visit the poetic garden or rooftop terrace overlooking the grand Empire State Building skyscraper, use the huge collection of DVDs for free and visit the New York Sports Club.

Madison & Vine Restaurant serves continental breakfast and lunch, and any cocktails can be enjoyed in the Bookmarks lounge area and right in the library reading room.

As a guest of the Library Hotel, you can absolutely free to read local newspapers, use a computer and printer, have round-the-clock access to the reading room, the poetry garden and take part in the Evening of Famous Writers.

3. Karostas Cietums Hotel Liepaja, Latvia

The building was built at the beginning of the last century, and in tsarist times it contained political prisoners. During the Soviet Union, Karostas Cietums was a real prison for war criminals. It was finally eliminated in 1997.

The castle, unfortunately, is in very poor condition, but tourists from all over the world come here every year - from May 1 to October 1 to inspect the cells where political prisoners and war criminals were sitting.

The service here is quite original: guests are changed into prison clothes, all personal belongings are seized and, having put on compulsory handcuffs, they are escorted into the cell through dark corridors.

The internal situation in these casemates did not change for many years: all the same worn bunks, tiny windows with indestructible bars, a prison menu of bread and water and staff dressed in the guards' uniforms.

One cannot dream of any friendly attitude. But still, guests here gain valuable experience - due to the fact that the invisible time machine takes them from today to the distant past that has long become history.

The guests have the opportunity to fully experience the atmosphere of that time, which is facilitated not only by the gloomy walls of the underground chambers, but also by carefully restored surroundings - Chekist leather cases, captured faceted glasses and portraits of the classics of Marxism-Leninism on the walls.

If you wish, you can stay the night and listen to the heartbreaking cries of the "interrogated", and if you are very lucky, then you will meet the ghosts of former prisoners.

4. Underwater Hotel Utter Inn, Lake Mälaren, Sweden

In Sweden, near the small town of Vasteras, on the picturesque Lake Mälaren, the unique Utter Inn is located.

Michael Genberg, a Swedish artist and sculptor, came up with and brought to life such an unusual design. He decided to create an unusual hotel and built several exotic modules for extreme relaxation.

For the first time such a hotel was launched and explored by the first guests in the early summer of 2000. The weather was windy and cloudy, but the guests were satisfied with the rest, although a floating house with a three-star establishment can be called only with a big stretch.

Utter Inn is modeled after a traditional Swedish cottage called Stuga, which is painted mainly in bright red. Mikael managed to realize the Swedish dream - to build a plow away from civilization.

The bedroom is located at a depth of three meters. The underwater part is equipped with huge windows, but do not expect to see something original, since behind them is a cold lake, and not the deep water of the Pacific Ocean teeming with inhabitants.

Those who wish to retire in extreme conditions are registered in the town of Vasteras, and then they go by boat to their place of residence. A personal hotel is located a kilometer from the coast.

In the upper part, protruding above the water, there is a small kitchen, a dining room and a toilet, and a terrace around the perimeter. Downstairs is a bedroom with two beds and a table.

If you are lucky with the weather, fascinating fishing awaits you. You can take a boat ride on the lake or just enjoy the scenery. Upon request, dinner can be delivered.

5. Propeller Island City Lodge Berlin, Germany

This extravagant hotel just blew up the whole world of non-standard tourism. The creator of the hotel, Lars Stroshen, demonstrated the true talent of the designer and realized his dreams, while spending a half million dollars.

It has only 45 rooms, but there is not one similar to another. You can order rooms with a bed floating in the air or a mirror room in the middle of which there is a luxurious huge black and white sofa.

Fans of bright interiors will appreciate the “orange” room, where all objects are painted in the appropriate color.

Fans of close attention can settle in a room called the Museum. The abundance of pictures, frames and a bed with lighting - attributes sufficient to feel like an outlandish exhibit.

There are apartments where lovers of Gothic, Middle Ages and horror films about vampires can enjoy a good night's sleep in a comfortable double coffin.

The upside down number is also impressive. The ceiling is occupied by tastefully “arranged” furniture, but below it is completely absent. However, you only have to pull on a special lace - and the bed or table will immediately appear from the floor.

Those who dream of sleeping in the sky will certainly enjoy the Clouds room. It is distinguished by clear lines of a comfortable bed, light flooring and huge paintings depicting clouds floating in the blue sky.

Those wishing to feel the spirit of freedom are given a room in the form of a prisoner alone, with a small hole in the wall through which the “breeze of freedom” seeps.

Such a riot of creative thought awakens erotic fantasies in some guests. The owner himself has nothing against such a development of events, but recalls that his brainchild is not only a hotel, but also a work of art. Therefore, guests are warned about the obligation not to break anything and not spoil it in a fit of passion.

6. Hotel de Glace, Quebec, Canada

The ice hotel is a tourist attraction in Canada and is considered one of the best five-star hotels in the world, built only from ice. Furniture, very comfortable, according to tourists, is also made of ice.

It has its own bar, cinema, two art galleries and, of course, comfortable rooms with all amenities, as well as a heated toilet and an outdoor jacuzzi. You only have to sleep in sleeping bags on fur.

The hotel first opened its doors in January 2001, and it is located near Quebec, next to the Montmorency waterfall. More than 500 thousand tourists visit it annually.

The area of the complex is small - only three thousand square meters. m, and every year on it houses are rebuilt with new interiors. The construction of this original hotel takes about 4.5 thousand tons of snow and 250 tons of ice.

It is clear that the technique in it is real, and not icy, and the doors are made of wood, and the fireplace burns with a burning flame, but the bar has glasses of persistent ice that do not melt even from the heat of the grill. However, guests prefer paper cups with wine and coffee.

Each year, in mid-January, a grand opening of the newly-built hotel is held with lush fireworks, fakirs and orchestra music. The boarding house works only for three months and disappears naturally, warmed by the rays of the warm spring sun in April.

The Canadians borrowed the idea of an unusual building called Hotel de Glace from the Swedes, where such an ice palace, only four times larger, has long been accepting visitors and residents of the country.

7. Das Park Hotel, Ottensheim, Austria

This unusual hotel is located in Austria, on the outskirts of the town of Ottensheim in the state of Upper Austria, 11 km from Linz. All Das Park rooms are equipped with decorated fragments of concrete sewer pipes, and the weight of one such section is 9.5 tons.

The area of each room does not exceed two square meters, which is a comfortable double bed, bedside table and table lamp. It has electricity and a vent like a roof window.

Excellent insulation is ensured by concrete walls that keep cool inside the pipe during hot weather, and retain heat in the fall and spring. The hotel is only open from May to October, so reservations must be made in advance.

The back walls of the houses are decorated with drawings by Austrian artist Thomas Lacel Ochoa, which add some variety to the monochrome interior of pipes converted into living spaces into residential ones.

The Das Park Hotel was “built” in Linz in 2004 by architect Andreas Strauss, but a few years later the houses were moved to the town of Ottensheim, and now its permanent location is Rodpark on the picturesque Danube.

The creators of this unique hotel emphasize that the Das Park Hotel project is non-profit, and tourists pay for their stay at the end of the stay, leaving as much as they consider sufficient for such living conditions.

According to statistics, tourists pay 50 euros per day, and the maximum period for which they are delayed is three days.

The rooms do not have amenities and water, but the toilet and showers are in the building next to the hotel, where there is also a small pool - for a fee.

It features cafes and bars located in the local castle. It is strictly forbidden to make bonfires in the park zone, but picnic lovers can spread a tablecloth and arrange a feast in absolutely any place they like.

8. V8 Hotel, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany

This original hotel in Stuttgart is simply a haven for car aficionados. In its design used machine parts and parts from the most prestigious and famous models. There are various modifications of the Cadillac of the 70s, car washes Mercedes-Benz, garage Morris Minor and much more.

The modern 4-star guesthouse is located in the garage and exhibition complex in the town of Böblingen (6 kilometers from Stuttgart), an exclusive automobile museum organized on the site of the first Baden-Württemberg airport. The hotel, impressive in its original design, offers round-the-clock free internet access.

V8 Hotel is one of the best places in Germany for motorists. All rooms of this unusual hotel are decorated in a bright manner, and vintage cars and new models are exhibited on an area of 20,000 square meters. m

The interiors of the rooms show a Bauhaus design typical of the middle of the last century, diluted with original automobile motifs. The rooms have satellite TV, a kettle, coffee maker and a work desk. The former airport houses shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants.

9. Capsule hotel Den Haag, Holland

The apartments moored off the coast of Vlissengen are nothing more than orange rescue capsules that are used on oil platforms in the seas and oceans around the globe.

They were first put into production in the early 70s of the last century. The houses, not exceeding 4.25 meters in diameter and equipped with dry closets, guarantee their guests complete isolation from the outside world. Not all tourists will agree to live in such conditions, but those who wish can be accommodated in round capsules of three people.

For the first time, such capsules were not used for their intended purpose in 2004, as part of an art project. Their owner, Denis Audendake, intends to place eight more orange-ready mini-hotels in the center of Amsterdam and in the city of Nantes in France.

The basic option is available to guests. It includes overnight in a sleeping bag and food allowance (emergency supply). There is also a James Bond style suite. If anyone remembers, a similar capsule was used during the filming of the series “From Russia with Love”.

The luxury package includes silk-lined fur sleeping bags, a DVD player and James Bond movie discs, a small bar with sparkling wines and a collection of vodkas that can be used to make a shake but not stir martini cocktail.

Unique mini-hotels are already open from May to October, until the first cold weather. So thrill-seekers can get ready to leave. And those who suffer from “sea sickness” should not worry: the capsular Den Haag hotel behaves like a float on the water surface and sways with the slightest gust of wind.

10. Hang Nga Hotel, Dalat, Vietnam

This hotel is called by the locals "Crazy House". This is a boarding house, and a cafe, and an art gallery - as they say in the west, “three in one”.

The architecture of this unique man-made structure is impressive: the building is decorated in the form of a giant banyan tree and has five levels, and each room is decorated in its own style, different from all the others.

During its construction, unique works of local artisans and ancient manuscripts were used. Ms. Dang Viet Nga always dreamed of designing something special, unlike anything, and she got her way.

The hotel was erected in memory of her father, Cheong Tin - President of Vietnam from 1981 to 1988. It amazes with an abundance of skillful carved elements, fantastic images of animals with luminous eyes, chairs in the form of magic toadstools. There are even talking trees.

Most locals fear this building, but avant-garde enthusiasts and fans come here from all over the world and continue to pay money, albeit scanty, by European standards, to spend the night inside a fabulous tree. The proceeds go to additional projects.

The creator of the gallery, Dang Viet, lived and studied at a university in Moscow for 14 years, where she defended her dissertation on architecture. In addition to this unique hotel, she designed many buildings that adorn the surroundings of Dalat, including the Children's Palace of Culture and the Catholic Church in Lien Khuong.

The number of original ideas born in the minds of people from different countries of the world cannot be counted. There are hotels in huge wine barrels, on giant trees, and those that are difficult to even imagine. We are sure that this topic was interesting, and you will share your impressions of what you read in the comments.

The hotel is almost entirely composed of ice and snow and fits perfectly into the Norwegian landscape. Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel is one of the most beautiful and unique hotels in the world. It is built every fall, and in January it opens its doors to visitors. In summer, the hotel melts and it all starts from the beginning.

The temperature at this 30-room Igloo Hotel ranges around 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-6 degrees Celsius) and in order not to freeze, guests should wrap themselves in blankets and deer fur. The hotel is located near the Alta River and boasts saunas, hot tubs and other spa treatments. This is probably the most amazing hotel you can imagine.

2. Montaña Mágica Lodge, Chile

Shaped in an anthill, the Chilean hotel allows visitors to feel part of the forest. Montaña Mágica Lodge is very organic and actually blends in with the environment, a waterfall overflows from the top of the building, which adds even more appeal to the building. All furniture is carved from various trees that create incredible comfort.

However, despite its natural appearance, the 13-room cloister provides a number of modern amenities, such as a sauna, a jacuzzi, a bar and a golf course.

You can watch this video to study the interior of this
. Arte Luise Kunsthotel, Germany

Located in Berlin, this hotel is a sanctuary for art lovers and tourists alike. Each of the 50 numbers was created according to the project of a particular artist or designer.

Another plus is that Arte Luise Kunsthotel offers its rooms at surprisingly reasonable prices. And since each room was designed in its own style, you can reserve a room based on your own artistic preferences.

The artists who worked on the Arte Luise Kunshotel were given complete creative control over the entire process. They chose everything from style to furniture and decoration. This explains the diversity of images and the lack of a single style. Some rooms are decorated in a simple, classic style with black and white vertical stripes on the walls.

Others offer to admire beautiful fabulous landscapes. But in the room designed by Thomas Baumgartel, we can see images of bananas painted on the walls and beds.

4. Sala Silvermine Hostel, Sweden

In the mines, near the small town of Sala, you can find the deepest underground hotel in the world, which is more than 150 meters underground.

The hotel, similar to the Mines of Moria from The Lord of the Rings, offers its guests rooms in the most minimalist style imaginable.

Also, here you can visit a tour of the underground mines in which the rooms are built. Mine Lux provides guests with the best rooms with free wine and cheeses, however here we see a minimal amount of furniture, in each room there is only one bed and two armchairs.

If you decide to visit this wonderful place, be sure to take a warm jacket, because the air temperature in the mines is from 2-18 degrees Celsius.

5. Nhow Berlin, Germany

Modern, futuristic, fashionable, vibrant - this is how you can describe another German hotel. Designed by Sergei Choban, it was created as a monastery for musicians, although any guest will appreciate the beautiful colors, texture and modern design elements.

Musically sophisticated hotel guests will surely enjoy the radio with hundreds of radio stations. The hotel also has two recording studios and an art gallery.

6. Treehotel, Sweden

Located in the Harads Forest, near the Lule River, Treehotel has less than ten rooms, but each of them is unique. All rooms are located at least 3 meters from the ground.

Although some rooms are still under construction, those that are already built are surprisingly beautiful and bewitching. "Bird's Nest" - a cube-shaped pendant room, covered with different shelves and branches, easily explains its name.

The Mirror Cube, perhaps the most impressive hotel room, is a square box covered in mirrors. The structure reflects the forest in which it is located, and at a certain angle the illusion is created that there is no cube at all. Inside the room, a rather spacious and simple interior emphasizes the beautiful view outside the window.

This hotel also has rooms called UFO, Blue Cone, Dragonfly, and Cabin. Most rooms can only be climbed by a rope or metal ladder.

7. Barin Ski Resort, Iran

If you ask visitors to describe Barin Ski Resort with just one word, you will hear “white” in response. This ski resort, which is located near Shemshak in Iran, was built in 2008.

Inspired by the popularity of nomadic travels, the Spanish architectural studio In Tenta designed a prefabricated house. You can take it with you on a trailer - and quickly assemble it wherever you want. An advanced version of a tourist tent, which is suitable for those who want to spend outdoor recreation.

The modular house occupies only 18.5 sq.m., and the kit has everything you need for quick assembly. According to the developers, the project is aimed at customers who like to travel, but do not want to stay in simple hotels. Mobility and environmental friendliness are the two main criteria for these modular homes.

In Tenta offers 2 versions of mini-houses, designed for a couple or a family of four. All prefabricated houses are equipped with a wall-mounted kitchen, a sofa bed for the living room, a double bed, a bathroom and a shower.

The idea of this architectural solution is unity with nature. The authors of the project believe that the future of tourism and the hotel business will be built on the relationship of man with nature. The project was called "Treehouse" and was built in a mountain forest in northern Italy. These houses are from 35 to 45 sq.m. suggest two levels: on the lower floor there is a sitting area and a bathroom, and on the second floor there is a sleeping area with beds, from where a view of the mountains opens.

The project also supports the idea of environmental friendliness: each house is equipped with a reservoir for collecting and reusing rainwater, as well as geothermal heat pumps for heating.

Hotel for sausage lovers

Wallpaper “in sausage”, sausage instead of a chandelier, pillows and soap. This is what a hotel in the Bavarian town of Rittersbach looks like. An unusual hotel was opened by a butcher who makes famous bratwurst sausages. The price includes breakfast - and you do not need to explain which menu is here.

The hotel is small - only seven rooms. Each is decorated in a signature sausage style. Moreover, each issue has its own design. In one of the rooms, the walls are decorated with photographs of canned sausages from different countries. The owner of the hotel replenishes the photo collection with the help of guests. Other rooms have a detailed description of the production of sausages or recipes for various types of sausages.

Guests are entertained not only by creative design, but also by interesting events. For example, you can personally cook famous sausages, taste meat delicacies and even attend seminars that tell about the art of cooking traditional dishes. And when the time comes to leave, - buy sausages on the path in the company store.

In Alushta, the interactive complex "Guardian of the Empire" has opened, which is a high-tech art object, museum and hotel. The atmosphere of the hotel completely transfers visitors to space reality. Instead of rooms - themed cabins. Instead of the usual bar - space. The interior design uses fantastic exhibits. Precise detail imitates a spaceship, and through the windows you can see flying planets.

The hotel also has various simulators and simulators, its own space garden, as well as a museum, where exhibits include meteorites and samples of the planet’s soil, spacesuits, fantastic weapons, etc. Visitors have access to 3D virtual tours where you can control a spaceship or take part in space battles.

The idea of this hotel came about by chance. Initially, Raymond Yazbek, a native of Lebanon, simply wanted to renew his home. But the repair was so carried away that the hotel turned out. This transformation took 14 years.

The house is located in the village of Remala. Here, the owner receives guests from all over the world and arranges tours of rooms filled with vintage objects, various fancy things and crafts. The hotel has about 3,000 interesting exhibits that have been collected for 30 years. Among them are a wall clock, deer horns, shells, antiques and do-it-yourself items. For all this, the owner spent about two million dollars.

To visit an unusual hotel, tourists are queuing up for many months in advance. Many people come just to see the rooms with their own eyes. In general, this small hotel is popular, and one night in such a room costs 75-300 dollars.

Purcari Winery winery in Moldova offers visitors to spend the night in a barrel. Room size is 30 sq.m. Inside, all amenities: bathroom, shower, air conditioning, TV. Round windows offer scenic views.

Another barrel-shaped hotel called De Vrouwe van Stavoren operates in Holland. This is a great vacation option for connoisseurs of French wine. After all, the barrels from which the numbers are made were previously used to store French Beaujolais wine. The volume of one barrel is 14500 liters. The room contains all the necessary furniture, TV, bathroom and shower. Hotel guests are offered a bike ride around the province, enjoy the surrounding landscape and, of course, have a drink of wine. Used Car Hotel

One Mexican named Ramon Franco was collecting old cars and planes for a hobby. And then he arranged an unusual hotel in them. Now anyone can spend the night inside the body or side of the aircraft.

Those who like to tickle their nerves can spend the night in rooms that used to be prison cells. At the place of abandoned places of detention, both authentic mini-hotels and luxury five-star hotels open. Most of them managed to maintain a prison flavor with narrow corridors and small cells. This practice of using abandoned and disbanded prisons is popular throughout the world. You can spend the night in a hotel-prison in the USA, Germany, Turkey, Finland, Canada and other countries.

Now Japan will follow a similar practice, where they plan to rebuild the oldest Nara correctional facility into a five-star hotel. One of the main reasons for this decision is the beauty of the building itself. Nara Prison looks like a real palace and embodies the style of Meiji architecture.

But in Montenegro, they plan to turn the prison fortress of Mamula into a hotel. More than 2,000 people were once imprisoned in the walls of the fortress on Lastavitsa, and during the Second World War hundreds of prisoners were tortured and killed here.

On one of the American farms in Boise, Idaho, a huge potato "grew". It weighs about 6 tons and is made of wood. It was made about 7 years ago for a farmer's holiday, and they could only find proper use for it now. Now it is a hotel.

In Mozhaysk, near Moscow, an unusual forest hotel opened for Tolkien fans. The rooms are similar to hobbit houses. Each home has its own hero. For example, there is a house of Tsvetunya or a carpenter Bob Vetkins.

They also plan to open a hobbit tavern, where they will prepare dishes according to recipes of Middle-earth cuisine. The hotel will host festivals based on the works of Tolkien. You can live in a hobbit house for 4000 rubles per day.

Hotel on the offshore platform

Architect Margo Krasoyevich proposed a lighthouse hotel project that will be located off the coast of South Korea in the area of Jeju Island. The hotel with a futuristic view, as conceived by the author, has a turbine unit that generates electricity from sea waves.

Some travelers think that the place where they can take a nap during the trip is intended only for this purpose - to sleep or change clothes. But there are trips in which the main attraction is the hotel itself. The tower was designed to naturally lengthen the silhouette of the mountain that it crowns, but such a tower design is not a simple decoration. It is a television transmitter designed to withstand extreme weather conditions.

The Jested Tower, built between 1966 and 1973, was awarded the Perret Prize, which was awarded to it by the International Union of Architects. Under the tower is the hotel and restaurant, designed in the style of the "space era" with rounded egg-shaped chairs hanging from the ceilings and lighting, tinted in gold, in the form of lamps and round lamps.

18. Hotel Arbez, France / Switzerland

Hotel Arbez is a small two-star hotel located in the border town of La Cure, eight kilometers north of Geneva. This nice and cozy place, built in the nineteenth century in the Alpine style with wooden beams and rustic cuisine, is located at an altitude of 304 meters above sea level. Hotel Arbez is a popular holiday destination for skiers traveling from one country to another. The hotel looks quite ordinary, except for a small detail - it is located right on the border of France and Switzerland, and, most likely, is the only such hotel of its kind. In this case, unique for our world, the kitchen, gift shop, living rooms and even several rooms are located directly on the border line.

The history of the hotel dates from the nineteenth century. In 1862, the governments of Switzerland and France agreed to modify the border in the Valley of the Dappes. The agreement, named after the name of the valley, was signed on December 8, 1862. The text of the agreement indicated that not a single building standing on the border line at the time of entry into force of the agreement would be affected by the modification of the border. Using this agreement, smart businessman Monsieur Pontus (Monsieur) built a building on his site, which was located on both sides of the new border with the intention of doing interstate business. The building was erected in record time, before the contract had time to enter into force in February 1863. When the agreement was ratified by the Swiss government, the three-story building was already completed, and thus was not subject to the influence of the new border. Pontus opened a bar on the French side and a shop on the Swiss side. The store worked there until 1921, when Jules-Jean Arbeze bought the building and turned it into a French-Swiss hotel, which it is to this day.
