Long-distance trains. Buy train tickets cheaper. How many minutes do a long-distance train serve

We try to arrive at the train station an hour before the train leaves. But this is because the city where we live is large and trains stand at the station for 30 or 40 minutes. The cars are filled with water, food is loaded into the restaurant, parcels and letters are loaded into mail cars.

Therefore, if you arrive half an hour before departure, the train will already be standing at the platform, the first passengers have already entered the wagons and have to wait until they pack their bags and place themselves.

Usually berm tickets in advance, choose the bottom places. If you arrive at the station before the train arrives, you can enter one of the first in the car and it will no longer be the case that someone has already put their suitcases in the locker under the lower shelf. I’ll have to ask my fellow travelers to remove them, but I don’t want to start the trip with conflicts.

Once I read the rules at the railway station, I was just sitting in front of the stand, it was written there that arrival at the station for passengers   to avoid being late should be in 30-40 minutes.

I usually get it in an hour, so as not to rush, look around, find an exit to the platform and buy what I did not have time on the road (this happened more than once).

If you are going on a foreign trip and you will need to go through passport control at the station, then it is better to come to the railway station an hour before departure.

If you have a trip inside the country (the so-called domestic flight), then you can arrive at the station 25-30 minutes before the train leaves.

It will be best if you arrive at the railway station in 40 minutes. And no rush.

I consider it optimal to arrive in 40 minutes.

    1. Screening at the entrance to the station (in Moscow)
    2. If the station is unfamiliar, you can’t immediately figure out where to go (especially at large stations, and from where commuter trains depart)
    3. Trains are very long. You can go to your car for 5-10 minutes
    4. It is better to be one of the first to come to your place in order to calmly decompose quot ;.
  • In my opinion, of course, it is better to arrive at the station in an hour, or even an hour and a half, because you still have to go through the search, and choose a place that you personally like, it’s better not to be late for any document delays, but you can solve everything in an hour and calmly set off on the road.

It is important to know the arrival time of the train and the parking time of the train at the station, it is also necessary to take into account the travel time to the railway station (rush hour, traffic jams).

Before the train arrives, the optimal time of arrival at the railway station is 30 minutesbecause after arrival, you will have time to present tickets to the guide, get bed linen (if the trip is long) and calmly settle in your place.

In order to safely get into the car and take your seat without any problems, it is best to arrive in advance, given the possibility of losing time in traffic jams. We leave the house an hour before the train arrives at the station, although there are only four stops by public transport. Five minutes walk to a stop, if there are no traffic jams, then ten minutes drive. With traffic jams sometimes happens longer, up to 25 minutes. But in any case, we get to the station before the arrival of the train.

Of course, you can leave later, but then suddenly you have to be nervous and afraid to be late.

But we sat a little at the station, heard the announcement on which platform the train was arriving and calmly left to it.

A quarter of an hour before departure.

It takes so much time to find out which platform the train leaves from and get there.

Usually the train has already been landed, there will be time to sit down and decompose.

If the station is large, then it is advisable to arrive there half an hour before the intended departure.

We always expect to arrive at the station 30-40 minutes before departure.

Much of course depends on how long the train stops.

In our city, trains cost about 20-25 minutes.

Therefore, you need to arrive 5-10 minutes earlier than this time in order to see which way and platform the train will come.

We went on an excursion to a small town, so there the train was only 3 minutes   we just managed to find the car and jump, even the tickets were not checked.

Therefore, there was no point in arriving half an hour in advance. It was possible to arrive 10 minutes before departure.

Lazarevsky has three big pluses. First, sane prices. Secondly, it is a quiet green town. Thirdly, this is a place that makes me nostalgic - since my parents brought me here to the sea since I was seven years old. However, I’ll better talk about all this in a separate review.

But Lazorevsky has a global minus, which is able to block all the benefits of relaxation. This is the Russian Railways station, where trains stop for a couple of minutes UNKNOWN ON ANY PLATFORM and with the risk of blocking the approach to the platform by ANOTHER COMPOSITION.

Yes, I know that using Caps Lock is indecent. But I can not do otherwise! Otherwise, I can only foul language!

So, we arrived in Lazorevskoye, in the morning at four o'clock, thanks to the guide, they quickly threw our bags and suitcases onto the platform and drove to the Omega, whose representatives met us in a minibus. The rest started beautifully. If it had ended in the same way!

Here I will take a deep breath, cross out the obscene paragraph and try to describe the extreme boarding of the Adler - St. Petersburg train under censorship.

We returned with a dozen bags and suitcases, as we were going straight from Lazarevsky to St. Petersburg (we generally had a vacation program for a month). Yes, barbecue, oriental sweets (many, many), Caucasian cheeses, tkemali sauces, spices, fruits, souvenirs ... In short, there was a lot of luggage. And what, we have no right? According to Russian Railways, apparently we don’t have it.

Arrived in advance, dragged the luggage to the center of the first platform. Well, now we need to find out which way - from the first, second or third - our train will come from Adler (here we are idiots, it would be better if we took a taxi to Adler and got into the car calmly!).

So, I go into the station building. And the thrash begins.   In the window of the attendant they bark at me:

- Which way? How do I know?! You will know how it comes!

It says the station attendant. This is said to the passenger fifteen minutes before the arrival of the train. Which stands in Lazarevsky for two minutes. Check out the service?

I go to the gentlemen of the cops. Gentlemen the police shrug. Well, of course, they have other responsibilities.

Okay. We occupy a position in the center of the first platform, opposite the wooden transition to the second. We get up in the sprinter's rack. We squeeze the handles of the bags in our hands. Exactly in the same tense stance dozens of other passengers freeze. We are all looking at a narrow passage. If the train’s approach to the second or third way is announced, we will together, crowd, crushing each other, we will rush to the second platform.

Announce the arrival of the train ... damn, still on the second way! Forward! STOP!!! What is there the SHOUTING ON RAILS TO MEET THE CROWD, what is there a hundred meters ?!

And this is another passenger ARRIVING ON THE FIRST WAY!

So, I swallow some water and try to outline the picture calmly. Lazarevskoe. Two platforms. Three ways. One ground crossing. Not a single aboveground or underground. And simultaneously arriving trains on the second and first tracks.

Some passengers (the most daring) flew along the ground crossing with suitcases and screaming children right in front of the arriving passenger. I'm a coward. I froze in a stupor with five bags on the first platform. I could not cross the rails ten meters from the muzzle of an electric locomotive. I was cut off from my train.

Again. I turned out to be cut off from my train by another train, and my train was worth two minutes.   And this composition stood up for a long time.

While I stood and stupid, other passengers, also remaining on this "shore", rushed to bypass an unexpected barrier. Men, women, children, senior citizens and even a disabled person on crutches plus a bunch of luggage moved past the stretched train to the rails. Damn, I will never forget what it is like to cross the rails with a few bags a couple of meters from the harry of an electric locomotive. It's very scary. Damn, this is easy.

But here we find ourselves the whole crowd between the two compositions. On a narrow strip between the paths - the first and second. And stupidly slamming at the CLOSED DOORS OF CARS. And with what joy should they be open? Doors open onto the platform!

The most active passengers begin to run and knock. In some places, dissatisfied physiognomy of the conductors begins to appear.

Two minutes have already passed. The train is about to move. But the conductors are lazily reporting that "we are still standing." (And indeed, the train stood about ten to fifteen minutes). But when he starts, it is not clear. We begin to climb into whatever cars, just to get in.

I throw my bags. Climbing, sighing. I don’t have a ticket.   I don’t have tickets, money and passports (my relatives turned out to be bolder and managed to cross the passage). The mobile phone passed out. Yes, it’s my fault that I didn’t charge it. Therefore, I get out of the car on the second path and go to search for relatives ... who have already crossed over to the cars, between the tracks! And they are trying to get to the first platform to pick me up from there!

Yo mine! And after all, we are not the only ones. Other passengers rush between platforms and trains ... With bags ... With children ...

In short, our “Adler - St. Petersburg” set off. Mountains and the sea sailed outside the windows of the vestibule. Checked our tickets. With trembling hands, she opened a pack of Pal Mel. I smoked half packs. Well, now there is nothing left. Nonsense - to luggage in your car!

I explain the location. I don’t remember exactly the number of cars, but something like that. Half of the luggage is in the fifteenth wagon. The second half that I locked - in the fifth. And our places are either in the eighth or in the tenth. Somewhere like that.

Among this baggage scattered throughout the entire composition are a camera, a netbook, barbecue and other valuables.

Let's go collect. And the legs are already breaking. The hands are shaky. Nervous tick. Shaking really. Dodger after the experience. And with bags, suitcases - on vestibules, on passages, on reserved seat cars!

We sat down, got cognac. Although he’s local, he went well. We try to talk, joke - but it turns out only a mat with pretexts.

Impressions - for life. Cool went. Free extreme from Russian Railways!

Transportation of animals on trains

Small dogs may be transported without containers in muzzles and on leashes. Cats ride under the supervision of their owners or companions.

Large dogs (including service dogs) can be transported in a muzzle and with a leash in the vestibule of an electric train (no more than 2 dogs per wagon) - under the supervision of their owners or accompanying persons with payment of the cost of their transportation.

The cost of transporting animals in an electric train cannot exceed 25% of the cost of an adult passenger traveling on a similar route. As a rule, it makes up 25% of the fare with rounding to the nearest ruble down. At the same time, the cost of transporting an animal in ordinary trains and fast commuter trains of OJSC Central PPK is different.

To transport animals or birds in an electric train, you will need veterinary documents about vaccinations. There is no charge for the transport of guide dogs (guide).

In sedentary carriages of the Lastochka electric trains of JSC FPK, as well as in ordinary electric trains, small pets, dogs and birds can be transported for a fee - no more than one place for one issued travel document (ticket) and no more than two animals or two birds to this place.

By the rules - on platforms   You can smoke if the station building is at least 15 meters away.

“The ban on the consumption of tobacco products does not apply to platforms and platforms serving as stopping places for long-distance trains for boarding and disembarking passengers and equipping railway cars, except for places less than fifteen meters from the entrances to the premises of railway stations”, - stated in the commentary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the Federal Law of February 23, 2013 N 15-ФЗ (as amended on December 31, 2014) “On protecting the health of citizens from the effects of ambient tobacco smoke and the consequences of tobacco consumption”. The text of the law can be seen about trains - article 12.

No smoking anywhere inside the long-distance train.

In practice, they smoke on the platform. While the train is moving - in the inter-car junctions (in new trains, for example, the Swift, it will not work). This is illegal, and the conductor has the right to call the police accompanying the train, you will be fined. More often - they will offer to buy a lottery ticket for 100 rubles, which will serve as some guarantee that you will not be noticed with a cigarette. Warning: decide to do so - at your own peril and risk, this is a direct violation of the law. We are not responsible for this.

Can I drink beer on the train?

Not. And the sale of beer by the conductor is also prohibited. In the dining car - you can. (Link to the law)

At the same time, nobody can control what you are doing in your compartment behind closed doors. Lock the door, clean the bottles when a guide, controllers or customs officers enter, and do not interfere with other passengers in this compartment. Warning: we are not responsible for the consequences if you decide to do so.

The calm of other passengers is the most important thing. If the coupe is bought by you entirely or you are traveling with friends who are satisfied with the use of alcoholic beverages, the coupe is not considered a public place. In a number of comments to Art. 25 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation on the inviolability of the home, a separate compartment is equated to it. In any other case, the compartment is a public place, and you can’t drink in it. And if your neighbors are not satisfied with drinking alcohol in a compartment, they have every right to complain about a violation of public order, and then the situation falls under the scope of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

If a drunk passenger inconvenience others and behaves aggressively, other passengers have the right to call a police outfit from the nearest station through a guide (sometimes security guards accompany the train itself). The violator will spend the next hours or days at the police station.

Should the conductor lay the laundry?

  • In compartment cars, CB and soft cars, the upper shelves are always covered immediately. But if you are traveling not from the starting station, but from the intermediate station, and another passenger was in front of the shelf in front of you, the conductor may not have time to redo the laundry during the parking period. If you do not do this later, remind him.
  • In wagons of any category, older people, people with disabilities, children, pregnant women and sick passengers can ask the guide to make bedding. It is free and is included in the official duties of the conductor (he has it in the instructions).
  • In branded trains (in cars of all categories), bedding on the upper shelves is also covered with conductors even before the train arrives for boarding.

In other cases, the conductor is not required to make the bed.

When is it necessary to rent linen?

You are not required to collect and rent the laundry. Strictly speaking, it is the duty of the conductor (according to his job description):

“On the route of the passenger train, the conductor must ... remove bedding after disembarking passengers; in exceptional cases, with the consent of passengers, bedding is allowed to be removed no earlier than 30 minutes before arrival at the train station. ”

However, in reality, it is not easy for the conductor to collect bedding from 54 seats (in a reserved seat car) and quickly turn it in to service personnel at the arrival station, so the conductors ask passengers to hand in the linen themselves.

What if you drove your station?

According to the rules, the conductor is obliged to warn you that you are approaching your station no later than 30 minutes before arrival. If you didn’t get out at your station due to the fact that there was no conductor at all, they didn’t open the door for you, they didn’t wake you, etc., raise a scandal. Find a guide or train leader. Learn more about what you can do.

If you were warned, but you fell asleep again or for some other reason you yourself missed the station, you have to go to the next and look for ways to return.

What to do if you get off the train because there is no electronic registration?

Before you go, look at your e-ticket. If you have passed, to board the train you need a printout of the electronic ticket and the document for which it was purchased. You can print on a regular printer on sheet A4, you can show an electronic ticket on the screen of a mobile device. If there is no ER, you should have a ticket with you on the standard form of Russian Railways. Without him, you will not be put on a train.

It is extremely rare, but there are overlays. If it so happens that you are already on the train, but you are being landed due to the lack of ER, you need to do the following:

  1. Look at the schedule, where the nearest stop with a normal train station (not just an open platform) lasting at least 15 minutes. The schedule hangs on the door of the conductor’s compartment, you can also see it on the Internet.
  2. At this stop, go and (or at the ticket office, if the queues are small). You need to know the number of the electronic ticket (written on it above) and have a document with which you bought the ticket. Despite the fact that the trip has already begun, the ticketing system allows you to do this.

Why, after the departure of the train, check the tickets again?

According to the rules for the carriage of passengers, when boarding a train, you must present a ticket. The conductor checks it and the documents and lets you into the carriage.

But according to the same rules, at any time before the train leaves, you have the right to change your mind and leave. And hand over the ticket to the ticket office. That is why, during landing, a control ticket or spine is not torn from it.

After the train has started, the trip is considered to be started. And then the conductor passes through the car, collects tickets, processes them. By the way, you must return the ticket before the end of the trip (usually given before arrival at your station).

How much do tea and other goods on the train actually cost?

It depends on the signature of the train and the type of tea. It is important to know this: most often there is a menu on the compartment door of the conductor; prices are indicated in it. The menu can be noticeable and with pictures, it can be an inconspicuous sign in small print, hanging near the titanium. See how much the bottle of water you buy is worth. Unfortunately, conductors do not always say the right price.

All products that you buy from the conductor must have a sticker of FPK OJSC, even on tea bags and chips. If there is no sticker, this is the personal run-in of the guide. If you pour granulated sugar, but do not give out sugar in a company bag, too.

Boiling water, dishes (a glass, a spoon), soap and toilet paper in the toilet, first-aid kit are provided by the guide for free.

Who can put luggage in the locker under the lower shelf?

The pre-emptive right to use the lower seat for hand luggage on long-distance trains is the passenger traveling on the lower shelf, and the passenger traveling on the upper shelf has the upper seat.

Rules for the carriage of passengers, baggage, cargo luggage by rail (approved by order of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation No. 473 dated December 19, 2013), article 112.

Many people sometimes wonder when it’s cheaper to buy a train ticket. In the high season (summer, holidays, school holidays), it often happens that there are no tickets to many destinations. For health reasons, one of the passengers can travel only on the lower shelf, and such places diverge in the first place.

What to do and what can be done to address these issues?

The best solution is to buy tickets for Russian Railways (this is an abbreviation for “Russian Railways”) from the moment the sale starts on them.

Since December 10, 2017 the sale of tickets for 90 days. For some trains, ticket sales start at 120 , behind 60 , behind 45 or for   30 days   before the departure of the train. Ticket sales open at the same time as at the box office of the train departure region.

  • on trains No. 1/2 “Red Arrow” Moscow - St. Petersburg,
  • No. 3/4 “Express” Moscow - St. Petersburg.

From April 1 and only until August 31, 2019 for 120   days begin to sell train tickets:

  • No. 5/6 “Ocean” Khabarovsk - Vladivostok,
  • No. 101/102 “Premium” Moscow - Adler,
  • No. 747/748 “Nevsky Express” Moscow - St. Petersburg and
  • to all high-speed Sapsan trains Moscow - St. Petersburg.

Tickets for trains departing across the borders of Russia have the following dates for starting ticket sales:

  • CIS and Baltic countries, Abkhazia - in 45 days. But for some trains, tickets are sold in 60 days.
  • Foreign countries (train Moscow - Paris, etc.) - in 60 days.
  • Ukraine and Moldova - in 30 days.

You can go to the Russian Railways website, enter the city names “there”, “back” and find out if ticket sales for your chosen destination are already open, for more details.

If you already know the date of your trip, I suggest using a calculator and find out when to buy tickets for your chosen date.

1 Calculator for calculating the period of 90, 60 or 45 days before the departure of the train

How many days can I buy a train ticket in 2019? From December 10, 2017 tickets can be bought   in 90 dayson a number of trains in 120, 60 or 45 days.

To find out when the sale of tickets for the date you need will open, select it below in the calendar. The program will tell you what date the sale will open (or already open) for that date.

   90 days 120 days 60 days 45 days

The calculation includes today.

Attention!   The period of 90 days in the calculator is set by default (that is, the calculation is “on the machine”). If you need a calculation of the term of 120, or 60 or 45 days, then

  • above in the field of the calculator, located under the heading: “How many days does the sale begin?” you should choose 120, 60 or 45 days,
  • find the right month
  • click on the appropriate number,
  • after that, a calculation will appear for the selected number of days: for 120, 60 or 45.

How to use a calculator?

Let's say you need to calculate the date when you buy a ticket for a train departing May 9, 2018. On the calendar above, you need to select the month May 2018, and then click on the number 9. After clicking on the date, the calculation will automatically appear:
“You have chosen: 05/09/2018 and calculation for 90 days

Sale on the selected date begins: 02/09/2018 ”.

Pay attention to:

  • month,
  • departure date
  • the choice of calculation for 90 days.

To select the month and year in the calendar window, click on the right or left arrow. The arrow to the right is the transfer of months in the direction of adding from the month indicated in the window, and the arrow to the left rewinds the months to the side of decreasing. After the month of December, there is a transition to the next year. If you continue to click, you can reach 2018, 2019, 2020, etc.

After you select the month and year, you need to select a date. To do this, click on the appropriate number in the calendar. The choice of year, month and date is over.

As soon as the train departure date is selected, a message appears automatically with the date when for the selected period: 120, or 90, or 60, or 45 daysfrom the chosen date you need to buy a ticket.

3 Opening time for sales. How to buy a ticket on the Russian Railways website on the opening day of sales

Why is it better to buy a ticket from the minute sales open?

  • There is an opportunity to choose places, including the choice of lower places.
  • Lowest pricing for tickets with dynamic pricing.

Opening hours for ticket sales at the Russian Railways ticket offices and on the Russian Railways website (official information from the Russian Railways website): http://pass.rzd.ru/static/public/ru?STRUCTURE_ID\u003d5210

Until 8 o’clock in the morning (more precisely, before the start of sales, and in different regions this time may be your own, local), you should go to your My Orders account on the Russian Railways website. In order not to miss the start of sales, you should periodically refresh your browser page. To do this, almost every browser has an arrow button "Refresh Page". In fig. 1 “Refresh” button is circled in a green frame.

When ticket sales are open, all trains will be available in 90 days. You should select a train, car, place, more in your My Orders account.

Fig. 1. The scheme of the car and the choice of a suitable place

If you select a place (“1 in Fig. 1) in the“ Car Scheme ”and click on the“ Save ”button (2 in Fig. 1), then, unfortunately, this does not guarantee that you will be able to buy these places. It happens that someone manages to pay for places earlier and then payment does not go through.

The most unpleasant thing is when an error message appears when switching to payment or at the time of payment. This means that, alas, no luck and that the bank cannot withdraw money for places already paid by someone who was more efficient. Alas, you need to pull yourself together and from the very beginning in your account again make the choice and pay for tickets from those that remained by this time.

This situation is not common, but can occur at the time of a special shortage of tickets (in the summer or before public holidays). And none of the Internet users, alas, is safe from this. As the software improves, I think Russian Railways programmers will find a way to avoid this kind of incident when selling tickets online on the Russian Railways website.

4 How to see 60 or 45 days on the official website of Russian Railways

We go to the official website of Russian Railways (you can WITHOUT registration on the site) at the link:

Fig. 2. Russian Railways website: when does the sale of tickets for 45 days and 60 begin

Having opened the Russian Railways website (I repeat, the site does NOT need this for this), click on the calendar opposite “There” (2 in Fig. 2). You need to make sure that there is a date that is today. Otherwise, it is necessary to choose the date today on the calendar.

Selecting a number, we will see the dates shaded in yellow and green. In this case, the countdown starts, starting from the date, which is highlighted in bright blue (in Fig. 2 it is July 1). The last date, highlighted in yellow, will be the date when the sale of tickets for 45 days begins. Accordingly, the last green date means that on this date today the sale of tickets for 60 days begins.

  • 45 days will be on August 14, 2016. This means that on July 1 at 8 a.m. local time, ticket sales will begin on the official website of Russian Railways for trains departing on August 14.
  • 60 days will be on August 29, 2016. In other words, on July 1, at 8 a.m. local time, ticket sales will begin on the Russian Railways website for trains departing on August 29 (if the train opens for sales within 60 days, not 45 days).

5 How to calculate 60 days manually

The secret of the calculation is that today is necessarily included. To calculate 60 days, there are at least 3 ways:

If none of these methods suits you for some reason or if you still have doubts, ask below in the comments, we will consider together.

Direct calculation 60 days from the date

  • first, we’ll manually calculate 60 days, starting right from a certain date,
  • and then we will count on the contrary, that is, 60 days FROM a certain date.

The easiest way to do this manually is to calculate 60 days, having at hand a calendar with large numbers, where you can poke your finger (or mouse) if necessary.

We will calculate 60 days from August 1, 2017, that is, we will consider: on what date it will be possible to buy tickets for 60 days if you buy them on August 1.
  So:
  August 1, 2, ..., August 31 - only 31 days,
  September 1 - the 32nd day,
  September 2 - the 33rd day,
:::
September 29 is the 60th day.
Or in one line: 31 (a day in August) + 29 (days in September) \u003d 60 days.

Thus, in 60 days you need to buy train tickets for September 29, 2017 on August 1, 2017.   on the official website of Russian Railways at a time when sales are opening at the box office of Russian Railways of the train departure region (for example, in Moscow and St. Petersburg it is 8 o’clock in the morning).

Return 60 days for date

Let's take the date when the train leaves and calculate when to take tickets for 60 days on this date.

Buy train tickets for September 3, 2017 for 60 days should be July 6, 2017.   at 8 a.m. local time on the Russian Railways official website (when Russian Railways ticket offices open in the train departure region). The calculation is as follows:
  3 (days in September) + 31 (days in August) + 26 (days in July: 31, 30, ..., 7, 6) \u003d 60 days

So, on July 6, 2017, you should go at 8 a.m. local time (or when ticket offices open in the train departure region) on the Russian Railways website and purchase tickets for September 3, 2017.

How to independently calculate 60 days before the departure of the train?

Counting 60 days for a train departing January 8, 2017:
  January 1, 2, ..., 8 - eight days,
  December is 31 days, therefore 31 + 8 \u003d 39 days,
  November 30 - the 40th day
  November 29 - the 41st day
:::
  November 10 - 60 days for a train departing on January 8.

Or the same calculation of 60 days for a train departing on January 8, 2017 in one line:
  8 (days in January) + 31 (day in December) + 21 (day in November: 30, 29, 10) \u003d 60 (days)

So, for 60 days, tickets for the train departing January 8, 2017, should be bought November 10, 2016   on the Russian Railways official website at the same time as at the box office of the train departure region. (In Moscow and St. Petersburg it is 8 a.m.)

If the train leaves   February 22, 2017, then we count back 60 days:
  22 (days in February) + 31 (days in January) + 7 (days in December: 31, 30, 29, 28, 27, 26, 25) \u003d 60 days.

Thus, in 60 days buy tickets for February 22, 2017 should be December 25, 2016   ticket offices are opened on the official website of Russian Railways at the same time as in the train departure region. (For Moscow and St. Petersburg it is 8 o’clock in the morning).

60 days tickets on February 26, 2017 it is better to buy on December 29, 2016   on the official website of Russian Railways since the start of sales, when the ticket offices of Russian Railways are opened in the region where the train departs. This calculation goes like this:
  26 (days in February) + 31 (day in January) + 3 (days in December: 31, 30, 29) \u003d 60 days.

60 days to buy   tickets for March 7 are needed on January 7, 2017on the official website of Russian Railways in that. the moment when the ticket office opens in the train departure region. The calculation is as follows:
  7 (days in March) + 28 (days in February) + 25 (days in January: 31, 30, ..., 7) \u003d 60 days.

6 How to buy 2 lower places on the Russian Railways website

As you know, on the Russian Railways website for two people from one personal account you can only buy one lower place at a time, and the upper places - without restrictions. You can’t buy two lower places from one personal account at once, it will not work. CB cars, in which there is only one or two lower shelves, I DO NOT consider.

There remains the option when one ticket to the lowest place is purchased in one personal account “My Orders” on the Russian Railways website in one browser. And another ticket to the bottom place is bought in another personal account, and always in a different browser.

With this approach, you can purchase 2 lower places. But it will take:

  • two personal accounts: each passenger should have his own personal account on the Russian Railways website,
  • two browsers, such as Mozilla and Internet Explorer, or two computers (such as a laptop and tablet).

You will need to select the train in the first browser (in the first computer). Then go to another browser (to another computer) and there choose the same train.

Switch back to the first browser (to the first computer) again, select the carriage and location on the train. Go to another browser (to another computer) and there choose the same carriage and a suitable place.

Finally, pay for the ticket in the first browser (in the first computer), go to the second browser (in the second computer) and there pay for the ticket.

7 How to distinguish the official website of Russian Railways from the intermediary site

Intermediary sites sell the same tickets that are sold on the official website of Russian Railways, but with extra charges for services. Moreover, margins can be significant, especially these margins are clearly visible when returning tickets. If a commission in the amount of approximately 185 rubles is charged on the official website of Russian Railways for the return of one ticket, then on the intermediary site the commission on return may be several times (!) Higher.

To distinguish the official website of Russian Railways from the intermediary site, we raise our eyes to the top and look at the address bar of our browser. If there are symbols at the beginning of the address bar: “rzd.ru”, then these symbols (rzd.ru) are the only and true sign that you are located on the official website of Russian Railways.

The number 1 in fig. 2 shows that in the address bar of the browser there are symbols “rzd.ru”, therefore, we are on the right track - on the official website of Russian Railways.

If the address bar of the browser does not contain the characters “rzd.ru” or they are found in combination with other characters such as “rzd-online.ru”, then this is an intermediary site.
Let's start with a question about which you will not say otherwise than a cry from the soul.

8 Where do tickets disappear before they are sold at the Russian Railways ticket office?

Let's remember that ticket sales begin in 90 days:

  • at the box office of Russian Railways (opening depends on the region of Russia) and
  • on the official website of Russian Railways (at that moment of local time, when the ticket offices of Russian Railways open in the region where the train departs).

It happens that future passengers queue at the Russian Railways ticket office from the night, stand in line for several hours, the first to approach the railway ticket office, and there may not be any tickets at the same time. Why, where did they go?

1) There are different time zones in Russia, hence the time shift. Russian Railways ticket offices open 45 days at 8 am local time in each region. For example, when in the summer of 8 o’clock in the morning in Moscow, then in Irkutsk it will be 13 o’clock, and in Samara 9 o’clock.

This is one of the reasons why tickets can be bought earlier by passengers who, for example, travel from afar with transfers. It’s just that on the Russian Railways website and at the railway ticket office, they earlier start selling tickets.

On December 11, 2016, on the Russian Railways website and at the box office of the region where the train departs from, ticket sales begin simultaneously.

2) The main reason why it is difficult to buy tickets is that Russian Railways tickets are now bought for 90 days not at railway ticket offices, but online on the official website of Russian Railways at 8 a.m. local time. And on the site this can be done much faster than the line at the box office.
