The central city park of Burgas, as its name implies, is stretched along the seashore. This is a favorite vacation spot for citizens. The length of the green zone is almost 7 km. Since 2008, the festival is held every year and lasts from July to August. This large-scale event attracts artists from around the world: the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Indonesia and the closest neighboring countries - Ukraine and Russia. Especially for the festival, which has an area of \u200b\u200bfive hectares, 2500 tons of special sand, resistant to erosion, are brought here. From it, artists create their masterpieces, some up to 8 m high.

In the Seaside Park, several ordinary, non-sand sculptures were also established, including the bronze figure of A.S. Pushkin by Petko Zadgorsky.

Each year, the author’s creations reflect a certain theme: carnival, circus, cinematic and dedicated to great personalities. On the last one could see sculptural portraits of Einstein, Louis Armstrong, Quentin Tarantino, Yuri Gagarin and a symbolic composition with three apples: Newtonian, the fruit of knowledge, plucked by Eve, and the apple of Apple. Sand sculptures are beautifully illuminated in the evening and guarded around the clock. In 2012, for two months, 120,000 people attended the festival.

Every year, starting in 2008, masters from around the world   conquer tourists and residents of the city with their skill and ability. All thematic exhibitionsand the size of the sculptures is huge.

In 2015, we went to a festival called “On a safari with a camera”, where the works of 10 sculptors were presented, mostly foreign. Sand figures impressed us with their beauty and variety.

If at first we doubted whether to go to the festival ( entrance   by the way paid, and is 3 BGN for an adult), then after a visit, they never regretted the time spent on it.

The sculptures are located in a small jesero Parkthat is located on the outskirts of Seaside Park.

If you decide to go and see the sand figures, we advise you to go in the morning or evening   (Jezero Park is in the open and the hot sun at lunchtime simply melts the surrounding air).

Where is the park and how to get here?

The park is located in one of the most tourist parts of Burgas, literally 10 minutes from central square of the city.

You can go to the Seaside Park in different ways:

  • if you are on the main street of the city - Aleksandrovskaya, it will be enough to turn a little to the left on Aleko Bogorodi Street;
  • get on the final stop at the Burgas South Bus Station, then walk along Bulair Street for a bit;
  • get on the stop "Park Jesero", which is located almost at the exit from the city towards Nessebar.
