Rent an apartment in Paris for a short time. How to rent affordable housing in Paris? My experience. Is it easy to rent an apartment in Paris for a short time?

Paris ... how much of this word. In all my travel experiences, the capital of France is still the leader in terms of high cost. Finding affordable housing in Paris was extremely difficult. And not only problems with him, but prices bite on transport, food, entertainment, everything is awkwardly expensive. It was also very problematic to find an apartment in Paris because the French were very sensitive to the choice of guests, unless they asked for their passport.

Apartment for rent in Paris

To save on housing in other countries, as well as to breathe in the atmosphere of local life, I use a wonderful site - this is a unique service for booking apartments from owners around the world. I have repeatedly written in my blog how Mishutka and I rented apartments in Europe and Asia. You can reserve both the whole apartment and only the room in the apartment with local residents. The second option is usually cheaper and allows you to immerse yourself in the local culture. I often choose it. Here are some good examples of renting several Paris apartments through Airbnb.

Before i found I had to sweat :) I have an absolutely full account with verification in Airbnb service, with various reviews from the owners of both European and Asian capitals. But still, every Frenchman was trying to find out who I was and why I was going to Paris. And never before have I had so many denials of requests for reservations, and even without any reason, because some, even without answering, immediately sent me to hell.

In general, I was very tired of looking for something, and, frankly, it really upset me, because I have not yet endured such an attitude. Looking ahead, I’ll say that the live French (or rather Parisians) were not very welcoming and rude, but this is a topic for a separate discussion, but for now about our experience in renting an apartment in Paris.

Other housing and apartments for rent in Paris

If the apartment described by me did not suit you, then by this link a selection of the best price and comfort housing options in the capital of France. Be sure that you will surely find a hotel or apartment in Paris for rent according to your taste and budget, as there are thousands of options. And then more about our experience.

Apartment in Paris for rent for a month or daily - about our experience

In the end, the apartment was found at an average price, though so far without a single review from other guests. Apparently for this reason, dear Charles, the young owner of the apartment, settled us, and did not refuse, like the others) Without reviews, of course, it is not very convenient to book anything, because the owner can decorate the accommodation somewhere, somewhere give the wrong information, and indeed turn out to be a dark type. In our case, the discrepancy was that the description allegedly wrote from the metro station to the apartment in just 5 minutes. In fact, it turned out to stomp for about 15 minutes, which did not please us at all. But as for the appearance of these apartments in Paris, everything was absolutely identical to the photographs, therefore, in this regard, we liked everything.

The apartment is located on the third floor of a decent apartment building with a patio. The main room in the apartment is a stylish living room.

The view from the main window was on the main street, the entrance was from it. And from other windows the view was into the courtyard of the house. Well, did you imagine Paris like that? Such a sleeping area of a provincial town;)

In the living room there was one folding sofa and one ordinary. The host gives linen and blankets.

We went with friends. One friend slept on an ordinary sofa, Mishuta and I laid out a sofa for two, and a couple of girls and a young man slept in such a full bed.

She was already in a different room and on the second tier. In the photo there is a chair underneath, and when we arrived, there was a small sofa. It would be perfect for a child’s sleep, just Mishuta would not sleep alone in a new unfamiliar place.

The kitchen was such a fenced bar area.

Everything was equipped there - a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, water supply, all dishes and spices. And Charles even left us a bottle of wine as a gift =)

To tell you the truth, he generally had a bunch of drinks there and the refrigerator was full and the drawers were all full, clothes were hanging in the cupboards, personal books on the shelves, all kinds of small things like instruments, flashlights and other things in dressers. Ahhhh, the full feeling that he lives here, obviously his own apartment, and not for rent, as many do. It’s even hard for me to imagine how he was excited to leave all this to strangers. I myself wouldn’t be able to for sure. If I already handed over, then without personal belongings. The young man is very nice, but a true Frenchman who stays pretty cool anyway. The truth is that this is not a dislike for you, but it’s just that they are such, you need to get used to it.

Honestly, I wondered for a long time why he was renting his apartment, because it is clear that it was created for himself beloved with warmth and attention to details in design. Maybe the money was urgently needed, maybe for the sake of an interesting experience, because the young man is clearly a traveler - on the wall there is a map with countries visited, guidebooks on the shelves. In general, we would have something to talk about, but there was no chance)))

Quick reference

Title: apartment in Paris for rent.
Location: The apartment is located in the Parisian Clichy district, the nearest metro station Mairie de Clichy. Nearby were grocery stores, restaurants, friends on foot reached the Moulin Rouge and Montmartre.
Contacts: You can contact the ownerto ask any questions or to clarify whether housing is available on your dates.
Apartment condition: clean, comfortable, there is absolutely everything you need.
Price: 65 euros per day. My friends and I divided the cost into four, because it turned out 16.3 euros for each. For the capital city of a European country it is very, very cheap, given the conditions of comfort. We also took advantage of a discount of $ 20 at this coupon (to use it, you must register using the link).
Service staff: Of course, you monitor the apartment yourself. It is necessary to hand it in clean and safe. Charles gives his phone and you can contact him with any questions, we also corresponded via PM in airbnb.
Additional services: the apartment had everything you need: free wifi; refrigerator; TV; Appliances; dishes (pots, pans, plates, etc., etc.); kitchen towels and detergents; hot shower; towels.
My mark: 4 out of 5. I liked the apartment itself, the price is also good for Paris, but the location is in doubt. Clichy didn’t like the area, there are a lot of migrants, they took about 20 minutes to get to the Champs Elysees station, they got tired, but maybe it's just that we are so gentle)))

Cheapest Paris Tickets - Review of the Best Prices

In connection with the situation in the country, the prices for air tickets to Paris have appreciably risen, but again I always try to save, because I constantly monitor price changes in one direction or another. With the help of such a convenient and visual table, I planned a trip to France, comparing the cost of air tickets by months, choosing the cheapest ticket to Paris.

In today's selection, I will talk about how to rent affordable housing in Paris. When traveling to Paris on your own, the first thing you should think about is where to live. It is clear that if your financial capabilities allow you, you can rent luxury apartments in the center of Paris. If you belong to this category, you can stop reading further 🙂 For everyone else, I will tell you about my experience in finding cheap housing in Paris.

So, the issue of cheap housing is very relevant, since the city of love and romance has rightfully for many years been the status of "the most expensive city in Europe." And this is true - almost everything is pretty expensive in Paris: food, travel by public transport, visiting attractions, and cheap hotels in Paris are also a rarity.

Therefore, it should be borne in mind that booking a hotel for 10 euros per day in Paris is unlikely to succeed. However, my goal when planning a trip was to find decent housing in a convenient area of Paris for a more or less reasonable amount.

I must say right away that my goal was not to book the MOST cheap accommodation in Paris, but to choose the best option for the price-quality ratio. Based on my practice, the cheapest rooms require a large additional cost:

 • firstly, it’s time-consuming - the great distance from the center and attractions requires a daily waste of time to get from the place you spend the night to the center or attractions of interest. This can only be compensated for by the presence of a metro or bus stop at a very small distance from your place of deployment;
 • secondly, it is cash costs - a great distance implies daily travel costs, since you cannot reach any places of interest on foot;
 • thirdly, I would call it "the costs of your nervous system." This item is very relevant for reservations in such major metropolitan cities as Paris. Answer: in your hometown there are streets or areas where you would never go alone or in the evening? Would they rather have avoided their visits? What, then, is to speak of such a large city as Paris! Moreover, it is here on these streets that hotels with the most budget rooms can often be accommodated! And not surprising - in fact, knowledgeable tourists have a great idea of which accommodation in Paris districts you should not choose. That is why the owners of such hotels have no choice but to attract customers with attractive housing prices. However, this can actually be quite dangerous.

Guided by these simple principles, before booking a hotel in Paris, I decided to decide on those districts of the city where accommodation would suit me.

Of course, most of all I would like to settle in the First District of Paris, where it is located famous louvre museumhowever, housing prices here are insanely expensive (the lowest start at about 115 euros per room, the upper limit is more than 1000 euros per day).

For the same reason, I also excluded the Seventh arrondissement from my list: waking up with a view of the Eiffel Tower was extremely tempting, but I was not yet ready to pay for this from 130 euros per night.

As a result, a short list of preferred areas of Paris, which I made for myself, looked something like this:

Fifth arrondissement of Paris - of the attractions here are the Latin Quarter, the Sorbonne and the Pantheon. Very close to the main city center. Prices, however, are slightly lower than in previous areas - you can book a room from about 60 euros per day;

Sixth arrondissement of Paris - there are, in fact, no attractions here. But the city center is very close and the area is regarded as truly Parisian, quiet and enjoyable. Prices are about the same as in the previous quarter;

The Eleventh and Twelfth arrondissements of Paris are areas without special attractions, but hotel prices here are more budget. You can book an inexpensive hotel in these districts of Paris starting from about 25 euros per day. At the same time, one should be careful when choosing accommodation here - one should not stop in the area bordering the immigrant Twentieth arrondissement of Paris. It may be unsafe there.

In Paris, there are other areas where you can book a perfectly acceptable hotel for living. I made this selection exclusively for myself, guided by my own experience and preferences. You can use my recommendations, or make your own choice.

In order to book a hotel in Paris, I used the already familiar to me resource - https://www.booking.com. I think many independent travelers are already familiar with it and skillfully use it. I’ll only pay attention to the fact that here is an extremely detailed resource for advanced search:

Here you can set the most important and interesting parameters for you: the number of stars, estimated price, rating by other tourists' reviews, meals in the hotel. With regard to booking hotels in Paris, you can also immediately identify the appropriate areas:

After that, it remains only to sort the options that have appeared by price, and choose among them the best and most suitable for you.

Personally, I opted for booking the Paris Hipotel Paris Voltaire Bastille hotel. This hotel is located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris at 132 boulevard Voltaire, 11th arrondissement: Bastille, 75011 Paris, France.

My impressions of this hotel: quite a good option for the money (about 60 euros per day). The hotel is located right next to the metro station. Saying this, I do not exaggerate for a second - the station is actually under your windows. So problems with public transport cannot arise.

Breakfast is not included in the bill, but under the windows there are simply wonderful open-air cafes where sitting in the mornings with a cup of coffee with the freshest croissants is a pleasure! Frankly, I still remember these morning moments. McDonald's is also located within a two-minute walk for special lovers of this type of food when traveling. However, to exchange Parisian croissants for Bigmack personally, I consider it a real crime!

The hotel rooms are rather modest and very small, but each room has a full shower and toilet.

 In my perception, this is a truly Parisian, sweet, beautiful hotel. To rent low-cost housing in Paris, which in its spirit does not remind of France and being in the capital of romance and love, I think is wrong. Hipotel Paris Voltaire Bastille rooms may not have new furniture, but from the window you can see Parisian roofs and geraniums on the balconies.

The funniest thing, of course, is the hotel elevator. This is where miracles begin - only one person can go with suitcases in it, and even then, if the suitcase is not too large.

In fact, there are many housing in Paris, and the following should be guided by the choice in the first place:

- you can book an inexpensive hotel in Paris first by purchasing a room in advance, as inexpensive rooms can be booked very quickly;

- prices for accommodation in Paris are slightly lower in the "low" months for tourists to visit;

- You can significantly save on housing in Paris by choosing districts located a little away from the main attractions, but within the center of Paris.

I hope that you will like my advice and will help you find and book inexpensive accommodation in Paris.

Paris attracts not only tourists from all over the world, but also those who want to work or study here. Living conditions in hotels do not always meet the requirements of visitors with the level of service and cost. In such situations, rental housing can help out, allowing you to save money and select really comfortable conditions.

There is no shortage of proposals: renting an apartment in Paris is not difficult. It is important to know and follow all the rules for tenants, regulated by regional authorities, they control pricing in a very peculiar Paris real estate market. In search of a suitable rental housing option, you need to prepare for certain nuances that are not found in our country.

Useful advice

Save on housing by renting a local apartment with Airbnb. Get 2100 rub. as a gift for the first reservation.

 Mandatory documents

Owners of renting apartments, before concluding a lease agreement for a long term or by the day, usually require a rather large package of official papers to guarantee the solvency and seriousness of the tenant's intentions. Moreover, in order to rent housing in Paris, this dossier must be collected independently. It should include:

 • photocopy of a passport with a residence permit;
 • income information for the last 3 months (bulletins de salaire)
 • duplicate employment contract (contract de travail);
 • check for tax calculation in the last 3 months (avis d’imposition);
 • bank deposit details (RIB);
 • certificate of payment of previous housing.

The bank in which the account is opened can also act as a guarantor. This requires a positive balance and regular replenishment of the deposit. Most often, customer service managers are silent about this service, but they cannot refuse to provide a package of papers consisting of a statement from a bank representative, account details and a certificate certifying the type of occupation (labor agreement or student card).

If you came to Paris for a short while and for the purpose of tourism, you don’t need to bother, it’s easier to rent an apartment on the Airbnb service. This is a site where locals rent their homes. You pay the money through the service itself, as when booking hotels, no additional documents and certificates are needed.

 Housing rental methods

If you intend to rent a home for the long term, services like Airbnb will no longer work. Renting an apartment in the capital of France can be carried out independently or through a special company. In the case of individual selection, money is saved, but it will take a lot of effort and time to find housing in Paris and defend it among many competitors on the websites of companies specializing in renting apartments, or among personal advertising posts, especially if you need an apartment for a long time.

In this case, knowledge of the French language is useful to find out how much a one-room apartment costs. Saving on agency assistance can cause unnecessary inconvenience due to lack of awareness of local specifics and simple rules, although for a week or by the day this is an acceptable option. However, it is recommended that companies choose proven ones that will really help find housing in Paris. Homeowners also often try to draw up transactions directly, without intermediaries.

One of the important nuances in drawing up an agreement that saves nerves and money is the inspection of the home with a written statement of all the malfunctions and damage, so that later you do not have to pay for the smallest defects caused by previous residents.

In France, there is a formed system of social support, which many deputies oppose in connection with the loss-making for the country's economy. However, it can be used depending on the level of income, housing prices, tenant position and other features. To obtain state benefits, you should fill out a questionnaire on the website of the state social security responsible for the payment of subsidies, and, having printed it, send it through the postal service with personal information.

 Rental Features

Usually, homeowners insist on a security deposit of several hundred euros upon arrival as a security deposit. This amount in full can be returned if the apartment does not suffer from the presence of guests.

When booking a home on Airbnb, the security amount will be blocked on deposit for 2 days after departure and will be returned to the owner if no harm was done to the apartment. In addition, there is multi-risk insurance servicecovering losses in extreme situations. A problem for a foreign student who wants to make a lease without intermediaries may be the requirement of the owner to find a guarantor in the person of a Frenchman.

At district selection location of the apartment must take into account the availability of vehicles and the presence of nearby commercial enterprises. Without public transport it will be difficult to inspect the planned attractions or get to the place of work and study. And basic necessities are almost always required from the very first days of settlement. When concluding a contract for booking a home for a short period, you need to clarify whether the apartment in Paris is equipped with bedding and towels.

 Which areas are more convenient to live in?

Renting an apartment in the city center is prestigious, but not always comfortable due to the large number of tourists in any season and the dilapidated condition of the premises, requiring the systematic intervention of emergency services.

 Montmartre

This area - the highest point of the city - is considered the most romantic, preserving the charm of the past, intended for dreamers. It attracts:

 • an abundance of greenery;
 • nice buildings;
 • charming winding streets;
 • morning aroma of croissants.

All these charms are available on the top of the hill, where there are tidy rooms with tidy courtyards, from where an overview of the Sacre Coeur and the whole of Paris opens. At the base of the hill you should not settle in order not to spoil the impression of relaxation.

 Latin Quarter

This area was not reconstructed and retained the medieval appearance of a university city. The bank of the Seine is filled with many cafes, where it is often quite lively and restless. But the Latin Quarter in the depths is calm, and within walking distance there are many attractions:

 • the remains of ancient Roman terms and arenas;
 • the famous Pantheon;
 • the famous Sorbonne;
 • Luxembourg Garden
 • notre Dame Cathedral (5-minute walk);
 • louvre Museum (15 minutes walk).

Premises in this area may turn out to be tiny, because houses in Paris in the Middle Ages were not built as they are now.

Elite restaurants are located in this place, and the Louvre is clearly visible on the other side of the Seine. Here you can find premises for every taste - both inexpensive housing and luxury apartments in Paris.

The main Parisian street is considered the most spectacular on the planet. Royal people and eastern rulers, stars of show business and cinema, as well as rich and shopping fans stop at it. It is constantly lively and noisy, close to the main attractions, so the luxury apartments in this area are vast, chic and expensive. But if you wish, it is not difficult to find a respectable cheap apartment a little away.

In addition, it is prestigious to rent a house in Paris in the 9th arrondissement - next to the Opera and huge shopping centers, where the rental price compares favorably with similar premises near the Louvre. An apartment in the suburbs of Paris is usually needed for those who come specifically to visit Disneyland, which can be reached from the city in an hour by train. It is easy to find decent and comfortable cheap housing here.

Nowadays, most travelers prefer rented accommodation to a hotel. Any way to rent a house in Paris has its own advantages and disadvantages. Each visitor finds an acceptable option for him. The number of sites and agencies offering apartment search services is increasing daily. The subtlety lies in the comfort of independent living and economy, in the chance to deepen into the atmosphere of a beautiful city and get acquainted with everyday Parisian life. Accommodation in the apartment allows you to feel like a true Parisian.

Thinking of France, the first thing that comes to mind is Paris. We all know that Paris is the personification of love and romance. The streets, houses, language, whatever the French would tell you, will still sound beautiful and melodic. Booking, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in real Paris, and not tourist. You cannot help falling in love with this city.
