Ryanair routes. Keep in touch: all the nuances of cheap flights with Ryanair. Credit Card Fee

Due to the low prices for tickets offered by European low-cost airlines, you can easily make an assembly with visiting several European countries at once for very ridiculous money! But low-cost flights, the airline has its own characteristics - they remain cheap only if you clearly know their rules and act in accordance with them.

Our first instruction on how to buy a cheap ticket from the Ryanair low-cost airline (flies throughout Europe, as well as to Morocco and Israel) and not overpay for additional services! There is a lot of information, but it will seem difficult only for the first time! Then you will get used to it, because Ryanair ticket prices are the cheapest in Europe and it is hard to resist this fact!)

Where to fly with Ryanair

Carry-on baggage

You can take one bag with the dimensions of 40 cm x 20 cm x 25 cm for free onto the plane. With the paid Priority & 2 Cabin Bags (from 6 euros), you can additionally take 1 suitcase up to 10 kg as hand luggage.

If a child under the age of 2 years flies with you without providing a seat, in addition, as a hand luggage, a bag with children's things weighing up to 5 kg is allowed.

Weight and dimensions are controlled very strictly, hand luggage should fit in a special frame. If the hand luggage does not correspond to the dimensions, weight and quantity, then it is possible to refuse boarding the plane or placing hand luggage in the cargo compartment of the aircraft for a substantial surcharge!

All current Ryanair baggage requirements

Luggage

Baggage is paid. To fly cheaply - it is better to do without luggage at all, to travel with free hand luggage of a certain weight and size.

If you still need luggage, it is more profitable to pay for it immediately with the flight. Payment later or at the airport will be much more expensive! You can carry with you up to three baggage bags weighing 10-20 kg. The maximum size of checked baggage must not exceed 119cm x 119cm x 81cm. An additional fee is taken for the advantage. The cost of baggage depends on the season and route, tentatively you can ask the price, the exact cost will be displayed when booking tickets directly

Carefully note the necessary type of baggage for each leg of the journey, because when choosing baggage for the flight “there” the system will automatically add a similar baggage option for the return flight!

Additional paid services

When adding additional paid services, flying with RyanAir ceases to be low-cost, so think carefully what you really need and what you can do without:

Reserve seats  (by default, seats on the plane will be assigned randomly at check-in, but for an additional fee (from 4 euros / person per segment) you can book specific seats and at the same time get benefits - the whole family or friends are nearby, comfortable seats, the possibility of online registration for 60 days before departure). Note that if you are traveling with children from 2 to 12 years old, this option is required for registration (for children the service is free);

Get insurance  (additional medical insurance and ticket refund insurance) - refuse,

Priority & 2 cabin bags  (priority landing) - if necessary. The option allows you to take on board 2 units of free hand luggage ().

Fast track  (quick security control) - refuse,

car rental, hotel reservation - refuse,

Parking  (parking) - only if necessary,

Airport transfer  (transfer from the airport) - if the airport is far outside the city, it is possible to buy a transfer will be profitable - check prices in advance,

non-standard luggage  (equipment for transporting children (Baby Equipment), sports equipment (Sport Equipment) and musical instruments (Music Equipment)) - only if necessary.

The cost of additional services can be viewed directly at the time of ticketing or in advance. If you need any additional services, it is better to buy them right away when you make tickets - it's cheaper!

Credit Card Fee

When paying with a debit card, a fee is not charged; when paying with a credit card, a fee of 2% of the purchase amount is charged. However, many debit cards of Russian banks are defined as credit, so be prepared for a 2% commission!

Currency conversion upon payment

After entering all the information about the bank card, the inscription may appear to the right of them: “Your debit / credit card will now be charged xxxxx RUB (or $) (xxxxx EUR). Click here for more information on our guaranteed exchange rate (this mainly happens with cards like MasterCard Standard). The airline offers to issue an invoice for payment of tickets not in euros, but in rubles or dollars, but conversion takes place at a disadvantageous rate. You can refuse this way: click on “Click here” in the inscription that appears and in the window that opens uncheck the conversion mark.

Ryanair Check-In Online

Starting from 48 hours and up to 2 hours before departure, you must register for the flight on the website and print out the Boarding Card on A4 paper (for passing the visa check procedure at the airport (see next paragraph)). Otherwise, registration at the airport will cost you 45 euros / person, and a printout of the boarding pass at the registration desk - 15 euros / person!

Do not forget that you need to register for a return flight separately!

How to print a ticket if you are already on a trip, not at home? Ask the hotel or hostel for an email to which you can send your boarding pass for printing. And you can also use the additional paid service of booking a seat on the plane (from 4 euros / person for each segment while purchasing with a ticket), which allows you to check in for a flight 60 days before departure - calmly print your boarding pass at home!

Visa Check Procedure

At the airport, before departure at the airline counter, you must go through the procedure for checking documents and visas (Visa Check), they will put the appropriate stamp on your printed boarding pass. According to the rules of Ryanair, this is always mandatory for all non-EU citizens (non-EU / EEA citizens), including for citizens of the Russian Federation / CIS.

Recently, they stopped demanding Visa Check on a number of domestic flights in Europe. But still, if possible, take a printed boarding pass with you

Ticket Changes

Always carefully fill in the passenger data when buying tickets, as all subsequent changes are paid and very expensive. It’s often cheaper to buy a new ticket! Change of flight from 30 euros, if you do it yourself on the airline’s website (at the airport it’s even more expensive). Name change on the ticket - 110 euros on the site and 160 euros at the airport.

For the fourth year now, we fly across Europe with low-cost, primarily with Ryanair. I believe that someone will be interested in our experience.

In order. Ordering and purchasing tickets.

We always (except this year) began preparations in advance, for 3-4 months. This allows you to choose the day of departure and return in the best way. Yes, and tickets for such a period are cheaper, though you still need to look and "catch" the "happy" hours and days when they are at the lowest price. Here, too, we must remember what happens and vice versa. You wait and hope for a discount, and the lowest prices have already passed and will not come back. Alas!

1. All actions are carried out on the airline's website - ryanair.com. Navigation is quite simple. Choose departure airport and arrival airport. (For us, the most relevant is Vilnius, within easy reach of Kaunas, Riga, Tallinn and Warsaw. From St. Petersburg there is Tampere.) Check flexible dates to be shown flights several days back and forth from the date you need. Continue to the next page.

2. Without errors, fill in the name field with Latin letters as in the passport. A mistake can be expensive. A correction costs 50 euros if made in advance and 100 euros already at the airport. There you can also indicate the possibility of preferential boarding - without waiting in line, it costs 5 euros and the cost of 1 piece of baggage up to 15 kg is 15 euros, up to 20 kg - 25 euros.

3. The next item is flight insurance. If you do not live in a prosperous Europe and the countries that joined it, then go down to Please select a country of residence and select travel without insure.

4. Below you can choose a place. It will cost 10 euros. Then you will be bombarded with requests to purchase a suitcase suitable for the flight of a good manufacturing company and transfer offers. In between - rent a car. Here it is as you wish.

5. The last page - contact details - payer data starting with his email address. This box will be the main means of your notification. There is other contact information about you.

6. We turn to the column payments, where you indicate the means of payment. Here, if you simply indicate visa (mastercard), it is understood that you will pay with a credit card and you will be charged a further 2% of the payment cost. In this case, it is better to choose visa / debit (masterxard prepapaid) if you have a debit card.

The process is almost complete. Wait for confirmation that the money has been debited, and then carefully read the letter from the company in your drawer. It remains to register for the flight online and print your ticket. It is with him that you rush to the ryanair counter at the airport of departure to present (or hand over) your luggage (a case of the correct size, weighing “10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm”).

In Vilnius, for example, everything has been going on lately for us quite loyally. It happens that the size measurer is suitable for you, but there are problems with the weight, do not be shy, unlike me in Bremen ... This time I laid out, actually in front of the employee, some little things (camera, razor, etc.) in jacket pocket and calmly outweighed the notorious suitcase. 10 kg No problem!

Next - a mandatory moment for non-EU citizens - visa control. Usually at the front desk. Show the lady a passport with a visa, she will put a stamp on your ticket printout and forward to the security zone. A trifle, but we must remember this moment, especially in the face of increased passport control at European airports.

There are no fixed places for you (if you did not pay it in advance). With a friendly crowd, stand in line, rush to the salon and take those places that you liked.

Reinair uses a Boeing 737, which has approximately 200 seats in its cabin, the backs do not recline, keep this in mind. Food, drinks - for an additional fee. During the flight you will be offered this more than once, as well as a lot more. Bazaar, and more!

In more detail about some situations - in my stories and. Everything happened, but I’m not complaining ...

However, by and large, if there is a desire, and most importantly the willingness to save and endure some hardships, then flying with low-cost is a simple task!

Ryanair Airlines, Ireland: fleet, routes, passenger reviews.

Ryanair is an Irish low cost airline. It is considered the largest low-cost carrier in Europe. Headquartered in Dublin, home port is Stansted in London. The main destinations of Ryanair are: London, Dublin, Stockholm, Glasgow, Brussels and Frankfurt.

Flight geography

Despite the fact that the number of destinations where Ryanair flies exceeds one and a half thousand, the airline has no flights to Russia so far. In the post-Soviet space there are flights to Riga, Kaunas, Tallinn, Vilnius, Poznan, Gdansk.

Do not look for your seat number on a Ryanair airline ticket - feel free to occupy any free seat in the cabin.

Airplanes can be seen at airports in Basel, Barcelona, \u200b\u200bBerlin, Brussels, Warsaw, Salzburg, Krakow, Liverpool, Madrid, Linz, Lyon, Palermo, Paris, Prague, Rimini, Tenerife and a number of other European capitals and small cities. The busiest and most popular Ryanair flight is considered to be an air service between London and Dublin.

Fleet

The airline fleet consists of many Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The average age of ships is about six years.

To keep ticket prices low, Ryanair chooses remote airports. Therefore, travelers need to think through transport routes in advance after leaving the terminal building.

Onboard Services

The airline provides all additional services on board the aircraft and on the ground for an additional fee. Ryanair passengers can only check-in online. You cannot carry pets or some baggage (such as sports equipment) on airline flights.

A Ryanair passenger can take with him to the cabin hand luggage weighing no more than 10 kg, bag sizes should not exceed 55x40x20 cm. Baggage in the hold of an airplane is only available at an additional cost. The cost of baggage varies from 50-60 EUR one way, depending on the flight and season. Return purchased ticket will not work. But you can make changes to the ticket, unless of course the passenger agrees to pay 110 EUR for this.

Be sure to print your boarding pass after registering online. If this is not done, you will have to pay a fine of 45 EUR per passenger.

On the ticket, do not look for the number of your seat - in the cabin, boldly take any. For the desire to sit in a certain place you need to pay: either 5 EUR when registering on the site, or 10 EUR already at the airport.

Prices on the page are for April 2019.

In Europe we flew the planes of most low-cost airlines: Wizzair, Easyjet, Airberlin, Pegasus Airlines, Germanwings, Norwegian Air Shuttle and others. However, the largest European low-cost airline Ryanair has never been used. From this post you will find out what difficulties you may encounter when buying tickets at this airline, and why we never flew them like that.

What is a Ryanair airline?

  • Established: 1985
  • Fleet size: 372 aircraft
  • Number of destinations: 192
  • Turnover: € 12,218 billion
  • Net income: € 1.5 billion.
  • Headquarters: Swords, County Dublin, Ireland
  • Main aircraft fleet: Boeing 737
  • Air accidents: for all the time the airline had only 1 plane crash without casualties.

The airline belongs to budget companies (low-cost airlines) - this means that on board the flight you will receive a minimum of service, any one will cost money, and considerable, all flights are almost 100% full, and the fleet consists of the most popular Boeing 737 aircraft.

Main destinations of Ryanair flights

Since Ryanair is a European company, it is not surprising that the airline makes the majority of flights in Europe. In addition to Europe, Ryanair planes fly to Israel, Cyprus and Morocco. Ryanair does not fly to Russia, but it very tightly enters Ukraine, and from October 2017 the following flights will be opened:

From Kiev (Boryspil Airport)

  • Manchester (UK)
  • Stockholm Skavsta (Sweden)

From Lviv (Ukraine)

  • Berlin Schönefeld (Germany)
  • Budapest, Hungary)
  • Wroclaw (Poland)
  • Krakow (Poland)
  • London Stansted (UK)
  • Munich Memmingen (Germany, Bavaria, 117 km from Munich)
  • Eindhoven (Netherlands, 122 km from Amsterdam)

Airports

On the flight map we see that the Ryanair route network covers all of Europe, but among this coverage there is a very bold minus - the airports of departure and arrival. Very often, departure and arrival airports are not the main airports of large cities, but some old, god-forgotten military airports located in inconvenient transport accessibility, where it’s very difficult to get + this is an additional cash expense. For example, instead of Barcelona El Prat Airport, you will fly to Girona Airport (93 km to Barcelona), instead of Brussels Zaventem Airport you will fly to Brussels Charleroi (60 km to Brussels), instead of Stuttgart Airport you will fly to Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden Airport ( 112 km to Stuttgart). In some cities, Raynair arrives at normal airports. For example, in Prague you will fly to the Vaclav Gavl airport, to Berlin - to Schönefeld.

As I said, getting to military airports is long, expensive, and often nothing. Thus, you will have to spend money on renting a car (plus the cost of fuel, parking), go through some city with transfers (spend time and effort and guess a convenient schedule option).

In addition to problems with logistics, you will find the lack of an adequate number of seats at the airport in the waiting room, at the airport terminals you will not find normal cafes, restaurants or shops, and you will have to walk to the aircraft from the terminal. As a result, due to the small number of shops at the airport, the cost of water often reaches € 3-4 for a 0.5 liter bottle.

Well, the last minus at these airports is departure time. If national carriers are trying to make the departure time convenient for passengers, then low-cost airlines have a different story: the convenience of the departure time does not bother anyone - as there will be a free plane, they will put it on a flight as much as possible. Now imagine, you want to save, bought a ticket, and the departure time is indicated at 6 in the morning. This means that at the airport you should be at 4 in the morning. And if the first buses start operating at 7 in the morning, it means that you have to spend the night at the airport or in the hotel and spend money on taxi rides in order to catch an early flight. And in this case, all the savings go down the drain.

Connecting flights

You can only buy tickets from Raynair for direct flights. If you fly to a city on the same flight and plan to fly to Rayneira then, put an extra day in your schedule, as the airline may change the departure time, or the flight may depart very late. A friend of mine flew to Rayneira, and the flight delay was 8 hours.

How much do Ryanair tickets cost?

One of the reasons why I did not buy tickets from Raynair was the disgusting color site that hurts my eyes, I always need to turn off the checkmarks from paid services and terrible, terrible navigation. For some of our citizens, the problem when buying a ticket on the Raynair Airlines website is the lack of a Russian version of the website. But back to the cost of tickets.

Now it's March. Let's see if there are any cheap flights in the near future. Indeed, there are a lot of low-cost flights, for example, in April a flight from Milan to Hamburg costs only € 4,89 . This price includes flights without seat selection and without baggage. As you can see from the screenshot, if you want to fly with your luggage and choose a seat, you will have to pay 10 times more.

And now the hell begins: you are compulsively offered the following services for a fee: seat selection, baggage purchase, insurance, rental car, priority boarding. After all this, you find yourself in the standard ticket purchase form, where you enter passenger data and card data to pay for the ticket.

But Rayneira does not always have cheap tickets to all destinations. For example, for a flight from Barcelona (Girona Airport) to Thessaloniki, the cost of a flight starts from € 100.

But Rayneira can find cheap flights a couple of weeks before departure, and six months before the trip.

Luggage

check-in

Check in for the flight online and print out your boarding pass. Otherwise, you will have to fork out immodest for check-in at the airport € 45 .

If you decide to save money, and you will register for the flight for free, then this means that you, your spouse, or your children can get seats far from you. Even one of the airline’s directors said that such a company’s behavior “is like pissing on people.”

Additional payments

Ryanair has many types of additional payments that a customer may run into.

  • Credit card payment  + 2% to the ticket price. And, as I understand it, even a debit card is considered a credit card
  • Overflights in large spaces for legs € 11
  • Boarding pass reissue fee € 15
  • Priority landing € 5-6
  • Check-in at the airport  + issuance of boarding pass € 45 . If there is no printer at home, you can print your boarding pass at the hotel reception or at any copy center that can be found in any city on Google maps
  • Flight Change Fee: € 30 — 60

Visa check

If you are a citizen from a third country (not the EU) and fly Rayneir across Europe, for example, from one Schengen country to another (where there is no passport control), and in any other case you need to come up with documents and a boarding pass before boarding a ticket to the front desk for checking your visa. Yes, the airline has such a rule that if you are not an EU citizen, then your company employees must check your visa before flying. Only after that you can go on pre-flight inspection.

Cabin

In my opinion, the Rayneir aircraft cabin just looks awful, bright yellow colorpresence on all free surfaces advertising  causes vomiting and disgust. I wonder if people in this hell can easily find emergency exits? For the rest, everything on the plane looks the same as on the plane of a regular airline: seats with numbering, compartments for hand luggage, stewards on board and, as yet, a free toilet. Although the new Ryanair planes promise to be more pleasing to the eye.

Well, low-cost aircraft are removed much less frequently than conventional airlines. This means that you can fly while sitting on the crumbs, there will be garbage in the pockets, but there is nothing to say about the napkin on the headrest, it probably will not.

Nutrition

Food and drinks (even a glass of water) at the Ryanair low-cost airline are not included in the ticket price. Even if you buy a ticket at the highest price, you will not be fed. If you want to save money, I advise you to take drinks and food with you. Food can be taken from home, and drinks can be bought in the departure area, which will be cheaper than buying it all on board. Alcoholic beverages brought with you on board must not be consumed.

On board Ryanair planes there are various snacks, hot and cold drinks, beer, wine and spirits and hot dishes.

The cost of food is approximately the following:

  • 1 drink + main course (sandwich, rice with meat, lasagna) + snack (chips, sweet or nuts) \u003d € 10
  • Coffee + croissant \u003d € 5
  • Bottle of water 0.5 l. \u003d € 3
  • Beer 0.33 l. \u003d € 4,5
  • Lasagna \u003d € 6
  • Instant Noodles \u003d € 3,5
