Metro, MCC and suburban trains will transport residents of the capital until 02:00, and trolleybuses, buses and trams - until 03:00.

The mode of operation of public transport will change on Christmas night (from January 6 to 7). Metro, Moscow Central Ring (MCC) and suburban electric trains will operate until 02:00.   Buses, trolleybuses and trams on 165 routes   will run until 03:00.   In addition, passengers can take advantage of 13 regular night routes.

“Of course, Christmas services in large metropolitan temples can go on almost all night. However, most city dwellers and tourists usually do not have a full holiday service, so city transport runs until two or three in the morning. This is enough to have time to get home. Let me remind you that during the holidays, security has been strengthened, I ask Muscovites and Moscow guests to treat these forced measures with understanding, ”said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.

Residents and guests of the capital of the Russian Federation usually celebrate New Year's Eve, as well as related holidays, on a grand scale. Most Muscovites adjust their schedule so that the whole family gathers on December 31, and also from January 6 to 7, on Christmas night. Citizens move en masse throughout the capital using public transport.

In order to optimize the passenger transportation system, certain adjustments were made to the operating mode of the metro and the MCC. Transport provided for passengers to travel will operate after 12 a.m. from January 6 to 7.

How will the metro and the MCC work on Christmas night?

On New Year's Eve, suburban trains operated until 2 a.m., and the subway worked around the clock, providing convenient transportation throughout Moscow. The MCC, as well as 59 routes designed for ground transportation, were able to transport people all New Year's Eve.

Christmas night is approaching, and in 2019, its leaders also made adjustments to the metro's operating mode, allowing them to move freely throughout the capital. In the period from January 6 to 7, the metro will be able to transport passengers until 2 a.m., which will allow interested citizens to move freely throughout Moscow, without experiencing any inconvenience. A modified schedule is needed in order to provide the opportunity to move to key temples and objects.

It is worth paying attention to the fact that the schedule of the Moscow Central Ring was also amended to allow it to be used until 2 a.m. on Christmas night.

Ground transportation mode

Christmas is a fairly serious holiday, especially revered by all Orthodox residents of Russia. With this in mind, authorized persons who are busy scheduling the operation of ground public transport prepared 163 routes. Thanks to their implementation, public transport will be able to transport citizens throughout Moscow until 3 a.m.

Some buses with less passenger traffic, which travel in the capital along 11 routes, will continue to operate according to the usual schedule established for non-holiday days. The sites of Mosgortrans and the Moscow Metro allow you to track all the changes that await citizens on Christmas night, and adjust their planned route.

Every day, all bus drivers of private carriers operating under state contracts undergo a medical examination, during which they measure the temperature - before and after the shift.

So, on New Year's Eve in the capital there were simply enchanting walks, and therefore almost all the transport worked "without interruption." Even suburban trains worked until two in the morning, in addition, they served passengers of the metro, the Moscow Central Circle and fifty-nine land transport routes around the clock.

However, what awaits Muscovites for the Christmas holidays? Let's get it right.

As you know, on December 22, the large-scale project “Journey to Christmas” was launched - one of the most popular festivals of the year for Muscovites and guests of the city. It will continue until January fourteenth, and it will not be difficult to get to the venue of the event, which is dedicated to theatrical themes this year: the schedule of public transport has been “adjusted” to the needs of passengers.

On Christmas Eve, as well as on New Year's Eve, Muscovites will conveniently get to the venues of various events and churches: the Moscow Central Ring, for example, will work until two in the morning.

The city authorities also prepared ground transportation, that is, buses, trolleybuses and trams for Christmas night: one hundred sixty-three routes will operate until three in the morning. Eleven city routes, in turn, will carry passengers on Christmas night as usual.

It is worth remembering that the interval of traffic on holidays will be about twenty-five minutes. If there are changes in the schedule, they can be tracked on the website (GUP Mosgortrans.).

Suburban trains, as already mentioned, will run until two in the morning - this schedule is maintained from December twenty-ninth to January eighth.

From the thirtieth to the seventh of January, electric trains work on a Saturday schedule, on the eighth of a day - on a Sunday schedule. Already on the ninth of January, suburban transport will run according to its usual schedule.

In addition, good news for drivers: until January 8, they will receive free parking on the streets of Moscow. The vehicle can be parked in street parking lots included in the Moscow parking space zone.

However, flat parking with barriers will work at the rates that were in force before - there are about eighty in all, and they work around the clock. Prices can be viewed on special stands at the entrances.
