November. Couple

Czech Republic, Prague

Last fall, in November, my husband and I had a rest in the Czech Republic, in the wonderful city of Prague. From the very first minutes of your stay in the capital of this dear state, you understand that much has been created here for youth and entertainment. Throwing things in a beautiful three-star hotel, we immediately purchased at the reception a map of the city with all the vicious places and started wandering the streets of wonderful Prague. The weather was quite favorable to us, only one day in the morning it was cloudy and a little rain passed and we slept through it, because we hung out all night until morning. In the evenings, we went to different bars and terraces, tasting traditional Czech dishes with the obligatory use of different sorts of beer, and at night we went into a nightclub and broke off there until dawn. Despite all the positive aspects of this holiday, several negative points can be highlighted, among which the overpriced prices for absolutely all alcohol in night clubs, just like in the glamorous establishments of Moscow. Local prices seriously hit the budget, which did not allow to fully use all the benefits of this wonderful city. But, despite all this, we really liked Prague. It provides absolutely everything for a full youth vacation!

October. Couple

Czech Republic, Prague

My husband and I really like traveling to different countries, visiting interesting cities. And in May of this year, we rented an inexpensive car and made a multi-day trip to the cities of Central Europe. Most of all we liked the trip to Prague. The city is very beautiful, but there we were faced with the problem of parking our car. Parking there is somewhere compactly hidden and many paid. In Prague, we visited the famous Wroclaw Square, where the most famous historical sights are located. The closer we got to the city center, the more we met all kinds of bars, shops and terraces on the way. It is noteworthy that, walking around the city, quite often you can meet funny and well-groomed beggars. In the evening we took a walk along the promenade with a lot of all kinds of boats, ate tightly in a coastal restaurant and set off on our way.

Prague - one of the most beautiful, best preserved and romantic European cities. Since the 10th century, Prague has been the capital.

The city is located on terrace-shaped hills and slopes, on the banks of the Vlatva River. Prague is divided into fifteen districts.

Perhaps in Europe there is no city with the same huge "old center". Para was formed as a result of the union of six independent cities, each of which had its own history and architecture. These were the Prague Castle (Prazsky Hrad), the Hradcany, the Small Side (Mala Strana), the Old Town (Stare Mesto), the New Town (Nove Mesto), Vysehrad (Vysehrad). Today these quarters are separate architectural and historical zones.

Prague is a truly unique city. Various architectural directions: Baroque, Rococo, Art Nouveau, Gothic and Romanesque, Renaissance, perfectly combined with amazing cubic houses. Wherever travelers in Prague go: along the cobblestone streets of the village of Tyn and the Tyn Church, or which is one of the oldest in all of Europe, unique architecture will surround them everywhere.

Gorgeous view of Prague, underlined by the towers. The picturesque panorama opens from Petřín Hill, where the observation tower is located, which is a small copy. There during rest in Prague   Tourists can reach by cable car. One of the most unique places in Central Europe is the Gothic Old New Synagogue, built about 700 years ago. Also noteworthy is the old Jewish cemetery, where there are more than 12 thousand stone gravestones, the oldest of which date back to the 15th century.

Walking around, you should pay attention to the windows! Here you can buy branded goods and products at really low prices.

A huge selection will allow you to see all the most interesting in the city, as well as beyond.

  - it is legendary, corked in a variety of bottles and cans, glass souvenirs, puppets, guitars, soldiers, Becherovka with the aroma and taste of wild herbs, as well as 70 ° absinthe, banned in many countries. Tours to Prague - a unique opportunity to try all this, and to get for acquaintances and friends as souvenirs!

You can plan all year long. Prague hotels will welcome you anytime! also contributes to comfortable tourism year-round. The average daily temperature in January in Prague is 1 ° С, and in August + 24 ° С. Our travelers love. At this time, the streets of the city are decorated with garlands, in the central squares are New Year trees, and in the hot mulled wine!

Prague Hotels

Prague hotels have European classification from 5 * to hostels, apartments and mini-pensions. The hotels are conveniently located: either in close proximity to and the city center, or close to a bus stop or metro station. Prague hotels operate on a B&B system, that is, on the basis of breakfast. Many hotels in Prague provide free Wi-Fi access.

The price of a weekly tour to Prague for Muscovites starts from 12 thousand rubles, - from 10 thousand rubles.

Every trip is costly, and a trip to Europe is even more so. Many are scared by the prospect of obtaining a Schengen visa, self-reservation of the hotel, the unknown and lack of knowledge of foreign languages. All these fears are successfully used by numerous travel companies that take on all the hassle of organizing a trip, adding their (very good) commissions to the cost of the trip. Each travel company convinces a potential client that it exists solely to protect tourists from the hassle and make their vacation carefree and enjoyable. In fact, this is not so at all. Travel company sells a product - tour. Each movement of the company's employees is paid by the client. And the cost of the trip doubles and even triples.

Anyone who can afford to pay a round sum for an employee of the company to make a couple of phone calls and spend half an hour booking a hotel and ordering a guide can relax and go to another page of the World Wide Web. This article is for those who are not used to easily parting with their hard-earned money, sponsoring the salaries of not always excellent specialists in their field. Let's try to organize a trip to Prague on our own!

Czech Republic and Prague: is it worth going?

The Czech Republic attracts tourists from all over the world with low prices for holidays, on the one hand, and an abundance of historical and cultural monuments, on the other. The advantages include a convenient geographical location - the very center of Europe. We add here a mild and pleasant climate, tasty and satisfying cuisine, Slavic hospitality, do not forget about the developed transport system, excellent tourist infrastructure - it turns out a very attractive portrait.

Prague is not the whole Czech Republic, even in a sense it is not the Czech Republic at all. In this city over a thousand-year history, so many different cultural treasures have accumulated that not only Czechs, but also Germans, Austrians, Poles, Scandinavians, Jews feel at home here. Each quarter of the old city bears the imprint of a certain culture, in every corner you can find something amazing and unique.

Prague is also attractive for Russian tourists because the Czech language, despite all the differences, has a very tangible similarity with Russian, and many citizens, especially those over 40, have not yet forgotten the Russian language, which was studied at school and university. Whatever anyone says, but the Czechs speak Russian with pleasure, because for them it is a return to youth, when the grass was greener and the dumplings tastier.

Planning a trip

If we want to save money, you need to plan a trip in advance. An independent travel preparation plan might look something like this:

  1. We determine the budget of the trip.
  2. Choose the time and duration of the trip.
  3. We are looking for a hotel.
  4. We make a route.
  5. We choose transport, book tickets.
  6. We issue a visa.
  7. We buy insurance.
  8. We are going on a trip.

Each of these eight points is important, although the order of preparation may be different. Each item requires a serious approach.

Budget

The cost of a trip to Prague consists of:

  • Schengen visa (35 euros - short-term for 5-10 days);
  • Travel expenses (plane, train, bus);
  • Hotel expenses;
  • Entrance fees to museums, public transport;
  • Nutrition;
  • Insurance;
  • Souvenirs.

It would seem to some that it would be more logical to calculate the budget at the end of preparation. But at the very beginning of the process of organizing leisure, you need to know about the order of the amount that we can spend on a visit to Prague.

Any traveler who has repeatedly visited Prague on his own will say that a five-day vacation in the Czech capital will cost no less than 500 euros. This is a super economical option. The optimal budget for 5 days in Prague is 750-900 euros per person.

Let's try to figure out all the expense items.

How to get to Prague

  From the Airport to the center of Prague

Airplane

Every day, planes fly from Moscow and St. Petersburg and other large cities of Russia to the Czech capital. A direct flight takes 2.5 to 4 hours, but a direct flight is not always the cheapest way to get to Prague.

An air ticket to Prague from Moscow costs between 230 and 300 euros round trip. The cheapest flights are offered by Czech Airlines. It is better to reserve tickets on the company's website. You can save if you reserve a ticket two to three months before the flight. Promotions and discounts most often occur on the night of Monday to Tuesday weekly.

The cheapest tickets to Prague are sold for flights in October-November and February-March. The most expensive - in the summer and on Christmas Eve and New Year.

A train

From Moscow you can get to Prague by train. The trip will take about 30 hours. A compartment ticket - from 300 euros round trip. Paradoxically, a trip will cost more than a flight.

Bus

Every day, the ECOLINES bus to Prague leaves from the Riga Station in Moscow. The bus takes 30 hours. Transplant in Riga. Return ticket - 183 euros. Buses are equipped with a modern toilet, a coffee machine, a buffet (hot and cold appetizers, breakfasts), rugs, an individual screen (movies, games, Internet). This type of transport is the most budgetary, but also the most tiresome.

Where to stay in Prague

Like any European capital, Prague offers tourists hotels of various levels. Luxury five-star hotels, comfortable "fours", affordable "three rubles", and budget guest houses and hostels.

Overnight is very important for any tourist. But if you don’t need to use a limousine, a caviar for breakfast or a TV set the size of a small stadium, is it worth it to pay extra for a room where you only want to spend the night spending all day in the most beautiful city in central Europe?

Will cost no more than 10-12 euros per night. The undoubted advantage of the hostel is that all city attractions will be within walking distance.

But there are also disadvantages:

  • Most likely, you will have to share a room with unknown people, rooms in this type of institution are designed for 3, 4, 5, 8 people;
  • Breakfast in such establishments is either completely absent or very modest;
  • Noisy companies of students are often populated in such institutions, you are guaranteed sleepless nights;
  • In the morning and in the evening in a common shower line;
  • Often in hostels, the smell of fumes so eats into the walls that this fragrance will haunt you for quite some time.

Most three-star hotels will charge between 30 and 50 euros per day. But you will have several advantages at once:

  • Private room with shower and TV;
  • A rich and tasty breakfast (included in the room price), which you can have for the whole day;
  • Free tourist map of the city, detailed information on all cultural events in Prague, discount coupons for restaurants and cafes;
  • The opportunity to book a city tour at a discount.

These are just the main “joys” of staying at a hotel, and there are many others. To search for a hotel, you can use booking systems, but it is better to find the sites of budget hotels in a search engine and book a night directly.

How much does it cost to see?

A walk in Prague guarantees the most vivid impressions of the city. Charles Bridge, autonomous watches, St. Witt's Cathedral - all these masterpieces are available absolutely free. The only waste is buying a guidebook in Russian - 5 euros. You need to visit both the oldest city and the Jewish quarter, visit the most beautiful churches in Prague (the best option is to listen to the Mass on Sunday morning), visit Petrishin Park, gardens and courtyards of numerous castles.

In Prague, a huge number of museums that do not charge visitors. Unfortunately, most of these institutions will be interesting only to specialists, but here you can find a couple of interesting places:

  • Museum of the Prague Baby Jesus - a small, but interesting institution. The exposition of clothes and accessories of sacred sculptures of the baby Jesus, which adorned many of the city's churches;
  • Pechkow Palace is a terrible place. The exposition is located in the premises of the torture chambers of the Prague Gestapo. In the period from 39 to 45 years, the entire building was occupied by secret police. Now one of the ministries is located here, the museum is open upon prior request (phone 224 262 874, [email protected]).

There are places in Prague where you need to go, not a second sparing the money spent:

  • Prague Castle is a fortress and the oldest part of the city. Presidential Palace, Royal Palace, St. Witt Cathedral, exhibition halls, museums. You can spend all day here. Entrance to the territory is free, so is the cathedral. To inspect the collections of museums, to visit state apartments, you need to buy a ticket - 13 euros;
  • Vysehrad is an ancient fortress, the old capital of the Czech Republic. Fortifications, chapels, princely residence - everything is interesting here. To see all the most interesting, you will have to spend about 10 euros, but there will be a lot of impressions;
  • Kafka Museum - without this modern and controversial institution, impressions of Prague would be incomplete. The most mystical and mysterious writer in Europe has earned the most mystical museum. Particular attention to the high-tech fountain in the courtyard of the museum - these pissing "boys" have long been causing controversy among the townspeople. Entrance ticket - 7.5 euros.

Prague is known for its many festivals, carnivals and holidays. At this time, despite the fact that the cost of hotels is increasing, tourists have much more opportunities.

Prague public transport is convenient and diverse. In order not to bore yourself with the constant purchase of tickets for trams, buses, subways, it makes sense to buy a ticket for 24 hours (4 euros) or for three days (11.5 euros). This will allow you to seriously save money and easily see all the sights.

Tasty Prague

Staying hungry in Prague is simply impossible. The number of cafes, beer cellars, restaurants is not calculable. Czech cuisine is tasty, hearty, and the beer is very tasty. It remains to understand how to eat without overpaying.

Breakfast

If you live in a hotel and breakfast is included, you have no problems. Most likely you will be offered a cold buffet (sausage, ham, cheese, fruit, waiters, cereals, yoghurts, etc.), as well as a choice of scrambled eggs or sausages. Have a hearty breakfast. Ahead of long walks and a lot of impressions.

If you dare to live in a hostel and only manage to drink coffee in the morning, then the best option for breakfast is a bistro-sandwich-confectionery. There are plenty of similar establishments in the center. Baguette with ham - 2 euros, coffee - 1.5 euros. Prices are almost the same everywhere. Breakfast in fast food will cost the same amount, but the pleasure is not that.

Lunches

Self-service canteens are great for lunch. Such establishments are often located outside the old city, but in the very center there are several dining rooms.

Institution called Havelska koruna   It is close to Mustek Metro Station and the Museum of Communism. The person determines the portion size himself and pays "for a plate". The choice of dishes is good, Czech cuisine. Dumplings and goulash, chicken chop and meatballs - all these dishes are difficult to attribute to high cooking, but hearty, home-style, tasty and soundly. Lunch at this establishment will cost up to 10 euros per person.

All cafes and restaurants offer set meals during the day. Depending on the level of the establishment, such a lunch will cost 7-10 euros. This is the most affordable lunch option in Prague.

Dinners

No matter how varied Prague restaurants are, almost everyone can have dinner for 20 euros (bill for 1 person, including 2-3 glasses of beer). Exception - attractions for tourists. In the famous restaurant "U Schweik" dinner will cost 40 euros and more expensive, despite the fact that the kitchen is not much different from the kitchens of other restaurants.

On average, food in Prague (breakfast + lunch + dinner) will have to spend 25-30 euros per day.

And about insurance

That's why you should not spare money, it’s for insurance. Life is so often unpredictable, and Prague pavements are not always perfect. Medical care for foreigners in the Czech Republic is expensive.

When buying insurance, make sure that the total insurance amount is not less than 60,000 euros. Ask to include “civil liability” in the insurance, this will allow you to rely on the services of a lawyer in case of going to court. It is good to insure luggage.

Weekly insurance in the Czech Republic will cost no more than 10-12 euros per person.

Souvenirs, shopping

The rules here are very simple: no shopping in the historic center. Exactly the same souvenirs in large shopping centers will cost 50 percent less.

Clothing in the Czech Republic is inexpensive, but of high quality. If you get to the moment of sales or discounts (January, the eve of the Catholic Easter), then hundreds of euros will be enough to fully get dressed.

In the Czech Republic, the currency is the kroon. 1 euro - approximately 27 kroons. Currency can be exchanged at banks, exchange offices, etc. Under no circumstances do you need to change money at the airport (a very unfavorable rate) and private “money changers” - there is a high probability of fraud.

The Czech Republic is a cozy and hospitable country. And its capital, Prague, is the most beautiful city in Europe. Traveling to Prague is one of the best options for a short vacation. Enjoy your experience.

A significant increase in the rate of foreign currencies has made the majority of overseas holiday destinations too expensive for most Russians. A pleasant exception was the tours to Prague from Moscow and other cities, which almost did not increase in price compared to trips to other popular European resorts.

Winter tours to Prague 2018 are now offered at the most affordable prices, therefore they are very popular among compatriots who prefer to relax in Europe.

Prague Hotels

When planning a vacation in Prague with children, with colleagues or in the company of friends, you must pre-select a hotel and book a room of suitable capacity and type. The city boasts an extremely developed hotel and tourism infrastructure in general. It offers vacationers comfortable and relatively inexpensive Prague all-inclusive hotels, rooms and services of which withstand even the most severe criticisms.

Most of the Russians who book last-minute tours to Prague prefer to stay in inexpensive but cozy mini-hotels and hotels of the city. Budget hotels in Prague 3 stars are ideal for those who want coziness and comfort, but are not ready to bear the high costs. For more demanding holidaymakers, there are 4 star Prague hotels in which the level of comfort and service is an order of magnitude higher. And, finally, the most demanding tourists will certainly appreciate the luxury 5-star Prague hotels, which are often visited by various famous personalities arriving in the Czech Republic on vacation or on business.

Tours and holidays in Prague

Prague is a city with a rather mild climate, which is characterized by warm winters and not very hot summers. Among Russians, most of all want to spend their holidays in Prague in the summer, because it is at this time of the year that the resort blooms and appears before the gaze of tourists in all its glory. However, the resort is very popular in the cold season, especially when you consider that prices for tours to Prague   in winter, one of the lowest in Europe. Due to the fact that prices for holidays in Prague are more affordable than trips to elite European resorts, this destination is now very popular among domestic tourists and guests from other countries.

For Russians, tours to Prague are almost the only option for a budget holiday in Europe in the conditions of the total rise in price of tours to popular resorts in the world. In addition, tours to the Czech Republic are tours to the post-Soviet country, where many locals speak Russian, so domestic tourists feel at home here.
