How to get Kiev - Warsaw. Bus, train, tickets. What is an electronic ticket and electronic registration

Due to bad weather conditions, it was not possible to leave Kiev by bus, was forced to go by train 067 Kiev-Warsaw. If you are interested, then this article is for you.

Let's start with the story of my trip

He planned to return to Poland by bus, a ticket was bought, things were collected. On the day of the trip I arrived at the station and the fun began. Due to the weather, many buses were canceled, my bus didn’t arrive on time for reasons that weren’t very clear - when I called the carrier, I didn’t get a clear answer, not only didn’t say why it wasn’t there, they also hung up. Of course, I suspect that maybe the fuel froze due to frost or the bus just did not start, but no one said specifics. I had to abandon the trip with this bus.

The problems do not end there - you can’t buy a ticket for international routes via the Internet - you need to go to the station and go to the international ticket offices. Which was done. Upon arrival at the station and having stood in line, I found out two main information:

  • exist train 067К Kiev-Warsawwhich leaves at 17:24 Kiev time and arrives at Warsaw at 9:10 at the central railway station, the cost of a one-way ticket is 2259 UAH
  • you can buy a ticket only for cash- which is strange to me personally.

Buying a ticket, as has already been written, is possible only for cash, while everyone at the ticket office itself indicates that it is possible to pay by bank cards, but not in this direction, if I understood correctly the cashier, you can pay with a card only for tickets to Russia. Where the logic in this is difficult to say, but we will believe that it is. But still, if so, then the workers UkrZaliznitsі  It would not hurt to post an announcement about this, because I had to quickly find where to withdraw money, despite the fact that there are no ATMs at the station (SHOCK CONTENT).

Now to the train itself

A train ticket is two tickets for different prices. I do not understand what and how but there are two of them.

Arriving at the station at the appointed time, I saw a train, these are ordinary old cars in the amount of 3 pieces, the restaurant car is not here.

Coupe is not ordinary - in 3 floors. Why such a decision? Probably more people would fit in an ordinary carriage. There is not enough space, there are almost no bags to put places, and given that the majority travels with large bags, there is no place in the compartment even to just sit. Due to the fact that the beds are on 3 floors, if a passenger from the middle shelf wants to lie down and spreads his “bed”, no one will be able to sit from below - there is simply not enough height. Those with claustrophobia are doomed to suffering.

As without photos

Several coupe photos (I apologize for the photo quality):

The pluses of the compartment include the toilet busy indicator - it lights green when it is free and red when the toilet is busy. Toilet is a separate issue.

The corridor looks like this:

The photo shows that the cars are not new, their old age is felt. Given the cost of the ticket, you expect to see something else, because the ticket is more expensive in the order of 4 times from the bus. The only plus, which could justify the price of the ticket, is the opportunity to sleep on the road, although on the other hand it’s more than realistic to buy a plane ticket for that kind of money, especially if in advance.

An important element of the train is its toilet. The toilet is weak, again, for the money I would like something better. Given that when traveling for the same money to Moscow, the train was much better. There is not enough paper, soap in the amount of one piece, while there is no liquid soap (although there is a tank), and it is no secret that it is unhygienic to use bar-shaped soap for a large number of people. The soap was in some kind of hair, I'm afraid to imagine who and what did to him.

As you can see from the last photo, the water is collected in the wash basin, which is not very good. By the way, the toilet is very loud, namely the drain after using the toilet.

The procedure of passport \\ customs control is the usual as for international investigations, except for replacement wheelset (or what is the proper name for this mechanism?) does not differ from a trip, for example, to Russia.

First, our border guards come in front of the border, the first is the customs control, they ask if there is something to declare and other standard questions. Then comes the passport control, take the passports and go somewhere with them. You can continue to sleep in anticipation of the miracle of returning your passport. After returning the passports to all passengers, the train moves on. In general, it feels like he is riding during the check, but I can’t say for sure - he was sleeping 🙂

Replacing a wheelset takes 1-2 hours, nothing is clear because it is dark and you want to sleep, but one thing is clear - something is happening - knocking, doing something. The main result.

The Poles have a similar scheme of work, they also go through customs control first, then passport control, with one difference - the Poles check their passports on the spot. After all the checks, the train goes on.

In my case, the train was 10 minutes late, which, in principle, is not critical for the train along the route which has a border with passport and customs control.

A separate word can be written about the passengers of the train. If you come across adequate passengers, the trip will be normal, but in my case there were some not-so-good people. Smoked more often than breathed, smoke constantly dragged into the corridor \\ compartment. They made noise and drank.

Summarizing

I wouldn’t travel by train, for the money that costs a ticket, it makes sense to fly by plane, given that a LOT airline ticket on both sides can cost a little cheaper, as well or a little more expensive - I see no reason to travel by train. And given the situation that I was witnessing at the station, the girl lost her ticket, her train after 30 minutes, she turns to the cash register to help her somehow, but she’s told that the only way is to buy a new ticket, and it cost her in 2800 UAH. I just don’t have words, how is it that tickets are sold for a specific name, do they really have no base of tickets sold there and they can’t issue a ticket again? As a result, the girl spent a considerable sum to leave. In general, it is better not to mess with, because the service is lame.

Good luck to everyone.
