Tuzla Spit on the map of the Krasnodar region

Having seen enough photos of the Tuzla Spit on the Internet, we decided to go on vacation between the two seas. To get to Tuzla Spit by car you need to drive through Temryuk to Taman. In Temryuk, by the way, you can buy a good one at the factory. When you get to Taman, look carefully at the signs. There will be signs for the spit. The road to Tuzla Spit, although unpaved, is quite flat and can be driven by any car without difficulty.
On one side of the Tuzla Spit the sea was muddy and gray, and on the other it was dark blue.

The Tuzla Scythe itself is made artificially. It projects as a narrow long strip directly into the sea. Its length is about 4 kilometers. They say that there are a lot of fish on the Tuzla Spit. I haven’t fished myself, but there are a lot of fishermen on the spit, both on one side and the other.
There are also plenty of spearfishing and diving enthusiasts on the spit. Dolphins often swim here, there are stingrays, or as they are also called sea cats, you can find shells - brine, gobies, mullet, pelengas and flounder. I’m telling this from the words of a local fisherman with whom we talked.
Opposite the Tuzla Spit is Ukraine - the Kerch Strait, after all. Mobile phones immediately start working in roaming mode and an SMS arrives, congratulating you on coming to Ukraine.

Entry into the sea along most of the spit is not very good. Mostly near the shore there are stones, large and quite sharp. Setting up a tent is also problematic. There is a very narrow strip of land near the shore. And stopping right on the road is both inconvenient and unsafe.
But if you drive almost to the very end of the Tuzla spit, there will be an already equipped beach. Here the entry into the sea is normal and there is room for tents. But if a strong wind blows, staying on the spit is not very pleasant. We didn’t take any chances and left for the Taman Peninsula. We stopped in a wonderful place, a small lagoon, where there was almost no wind, and the sea and nature were amazing.
This is a photo of the Tuzla Spit from the sea. A long yellow stripe stretched far, far away.

The Tuzla Spit is a very interesting and unusual place V Krasnodar region. If you are planning to come on vacation to the Taman Peninsula, be sure to go to the Tuzla Spit - because here you can see two seas at once - the Azov and the Black! And not only see, but swim in two seas! Isn't it amazing?

History of the Tuzla Spit

Tuzla Spit used to be an island. To be precise, about 100 years ago it was a slant, about 11 kilometers long. But local fishermen dug a small canal at its base in 1925 to shorten their route. One day, after a storm, a small passage turned into a wide strait, and the spit became the island of Tuzla.

The island existed until 2003. In 2003, the Tuzla Spit was restored. Its length is now about 4 kilometers, and its width is gradually increasing due to sand and shells deposited by the sea. Now this place has become business card Taman Peninsula.

Holidays on Tuzla Spit

Today, the waters of the Black Sea and Taman Bay have created sand deposits along almost the entire length of the spit, and beaches at the edge of the spit, which have begun to attract not only fishermen, but also vacationers.

Be careful! The current at the very end of the spit is very strong, so you should not risk yourself and go swimming in dangerous waters. Closer to the base of the spit you can also find a place for swimming and sunbathing, there are no such strong currents and even if the water on one side of the spit is agitated , on the other side she will be calm.

The beach now has changing rooms, a toilet, a lifeguard tower, and buoys in the sea. By the way, you can often see dolphins near the Tuzla Spit.

How to get to Tuzla Spit

First you need to get to the village of Taman. Then you cross Taman and after a few kilometers, at the Y-shaped fork, turn right, there should be a sign to the spit.

What is a geographic map

A geographic map is an image of the Earth's surface with a plotted coordinate grid and symbols, the proportions of which directly depend on the scale. A geography map is a landmark by which you can identify the location of an array, object, or place of residence of a person. These are indispensable assistants for geologists, tourists, pilots and military personnel, whose professions are directly related to travel and trips over long distances.

Types of cards

Conditionally divide geographic Maps There are 4 types:

  • in terms of territory coverage and these are maps of continents and countries;
  • by purpose and these are tourist, educational, road, navigation, scientific and reference, technical, tourist maps;
  • content - thematic, general geographical, general political maps;
  • by scale – small-scale, medium-scale and large-scale maps.

Each of the maps is dedicated to a particular topic, thematically reflecting islands, seas, vegetation, settlements, weather, soil, taking into account the coverage of the territory. A map can only represent countries, continents or individual states plotted on a certain scale. Taking into account how much a particular territory has been reduced, the scale of the map is 1x1000.1500, which means a decrease in distance by 20,000 times. Of course, it’s easy to guess that the larger the scale, the more detailed the map is drawn. And yet, individual parts of the earth's surface on the map are distorted, unlike a globe, which is capable of conveying the appearance of the surface without changes. The Earth is spherical and distortions occur, such as: area, angles, length of objects.

Tuzla Spit (Tuzlinskaya Spit) - braid in Kerch Strait on the Taman Peninsula, near the village of Taman. Near the spit there are many interesting geographical objects. There are toponyms such as Tuzla Island, Lake Tuzla, Cape Tuzla.
The Tuzlinskaya Spit was formed as a result of the combination of small islands and shoals, under the constant influence of the ebb and flow of the Black and Azov Seas. Due to this, there was a gradual deposition of sand and its accumulation on a long section of the resulting spit. As a result economic activity man, the island of Tuzla was formed, which was part of the spit back in the 20s of the last century. The island was part of Ukraine until 2014. In 2003, during the border conflict between the Russian Federation and the Ukrainian Republic, the spit was strengthened and lengthened. It was planned to restore the washed-out area between the skeleton and the spit. But as a result of the conflict, further construction and strengthening of the banks ended. Its length is about 4 km.
Tuzlinskaya Spit is a unique place, on one side it is washed by the Black Sea and on the other by the waters of the Taman Bay, which belongs to Sea of Azov, from it you can also see the island of Tuzla and Cape Tuzla itself, the Kerch Strait, the Crimean peninsula, the Taman hills, the parking of large-tonnage ships, a panorama of the Chushka spit and the port of Caucasus opens. This place active fishing and rest. In the summer there was a car camping and a beach on the spit. I advise you to take warm clothes with you, since the place is open and the wind can be very, very cold.
IN this moment Construction work is underway on the spit. A bridge is already being installed between the spit and the island of Tuzla. Soon, very soon, the main bridge will be built.

An interesting place on the Taman Peninsula.

Once adjacent to Taman Peninsula The spit near Cape Tuzla turned into an island in 1925, when the Kuban Cossacks, for the convenience of fishing, and so as not to go around the multi-kilometer spit, decided to dig a canal in it for the passage of boats. According to the creators of the canal, it should not have caused any damage to nature, but already in the same year, during a strong storm, a “wash” formed on the spit, which only increased over the years. Over time, the tip of the spit became an island separate from the mainland - Tuzla.Only in 2003 the spit was restored by the Russian side.
