From Grodno to Vilnius with transfers

The schedule of direct buses to Vilnius is not ideal and may not be suitable for everyone. The disadvantage of the small number of flights is the fact that buses do not call at Vilnius airport. In this case, the best option would be to go with a change in Minsk.

On a group of trailed cars, Moscow-Grodno set off the night before Lida. Arrived early, more than 2 hours had to wait, but my train was already present on the scoreboard.

The train runs along the interstate, so the ticket price is appropriate. If from Grodno to Vilnius (200 thousand) the price is still comparable to the cost of a bus ticket, then from Lida to Vilnius (150 thousand) is already twice as expensive as a bus on the same route. And so the train arrived in Lida.

Nine passengers departed from Lida, one of them left the Belarusian border station Benyakone, another one was removed due to some problems with a passport, one person got on a train - a total of 8 passengers went to Vilnius. It’s not thick, however .. but let's hope that the train will gradually gain popularity, and will not be canceled in the fall. On the Lithuanian side of the border received a stamp in the passport "Stasilos". Previously, only freight train drivers received these. By the way, the Lida-Vilnius line is still not cut off along the border, as happened with the Porechye-Marcinkonis crossing, by 99 percent due to the fact that Belaruskali's products are transported to seaports along it.

Interestingly, the speed reached 108 km / h to the border; in Lithuania it was no more than 90 (GPS-navigator readings). As I heard with one ear, the instructor was part of the brigade. Apparently, the drivers of the diesel train did not run in on the Lithuanian side of the line, therefore, they led the train under the guidance of the one who had already traveled here. Most likely, this is one of the cargo crews. Schedule train withstood excellent. In Vilnius, within an hour, transferred to the Vilnius-Klaipeda express train and after 2 hours was already in Siauliai. The composition of the train under the 70th slipper ...

Having walked for 2 hours along Šiauliai, on this PESA I am heading along the railway line leading towards the Latvian Daugavpils. But passenger traffic is carried out only to the town of Rokiskis near the border and the station of the same name. This line, the impression was made, also remained alive thanks to the cargoes, namely, the transit of oil to Russia-ports. PESA walks to Rokiskis on weekends, and on weekdays it arrives only to Panevezys, which is located on this line.
