Inhabitants of the stone jungle coordinate changes in their living conditions only during the holidays. But over time, they understand: hotels, even in different countries, are mostly similar to each other. Nevertheless, there are special ones. And spending the night in one of these is an adventure in itself. In this article we want to bring to your attention the 10 most unusual hotels from around the world.

All houses are made in the form of fairy caves, in which giant trees, plants and mushrooms are intertwined, as well as animals, insects and fairy creatures.

In one of the hotel rooms, all the furniture is nailed to the ceiling.

4. GREEN PLAZA SHINJUKU CAPSULE HOTEL (Japan, Tokyo)

This capsule
the linen hotel consists of two parts: a common living room and the personal space of each guest, where the famous rooms are located. 7. TREE HOTEL (Sweden, Harads)

In the mirror cube, attached to the trees in the wilderness, everything that surrounds it is reflected: the wilderness
b, glade and sky, therefore, the human eye will not immediately notice a 4x4x4 m structure. And so that the birds do not crash, the cube is “wrapped” with an infrared film, which birds, unlike people, see. The whole interior is made of birch plywood. In addition to the double bedroom, there is a living room, a bathroom and even a roof terrace. The hotel has other amazing apartments: in the form of a UFO, bird's nest or dragonfly. For the convenience of guests, a sauna for eight is built on one of the trees.

8. MONTANA MAGICA LODGE (Chile, Neltume)

A magical mountain house built in the Wilo-Wilo Biological Reserve. Externally, the hotel looks like a volcano overgrown with lush vegetation and constantly spewing water instead of lava. A suspension bridge at the middle of the structure is the only way to get inside. Some have views of the real Mochos Choshu Enko Volcano. The rooms are equipped with bathtubs carved into a single piece of wood.

9. ATTRAP’REVES MONTAGNAC (France, Alps of Upper Provence)

Grass flooring is a pleasant addition to comfort. The shape of the bubbles is maintained by fresh air pumped by a small silent device. Inside the rooms are cylindrical corridors. At the end of the season, the bubbles are blown away.

SeaventuresDiveResort: oilman's dream

On the island of Sipadan in Malaysia, they thought of building a hotel on a former oil platform. In 1988, she got a gift from a certain Suzette Harris. Businesswoman ennobled the tower as she could, it was towed to the Sulawesi Sea and has since been used as a hotel for divers. Its feature is complete solitude among the boundless waters of the Indian Ocean. And here you can dive under water without leaving the hotel: just dive under the water on the elevator. The hotel rooms were rather cramped and the smell of oil was ingrained forever, but there are always plenty of divers here: the underwater world, one might say, underfoot.

Unusual hotels of the world - chic economy class

Unusual hotels of the world - on wheels

Americans, who especially love unusual hotels, have come up with the idea of making a hotel in mobile 50s retro caravans. On the Pacific coast in California, the original resort (23 ha) Airstream now has 20 mobile trailers with kitchens, dining rooms and all amenities. Unusual hotels of the world - bird's-eye

Guests of Arlau Amazon Towers make their way to the room via suspension bridges, because the hotel consists of several wooden towers on the trunks of giant trees at an altitude of about 60 m above the ground. It has everything that a hotel needs: a restaurant, a conference room, a tower for honeymooners “Tarzan in Love”, it’s just all in the exotic atmosphere of the Amazonian jungle, where macaques are jumping, full of iguanas, colorful birds and even crocodiles. Among connoisseurs of natural beauty - wild bananas and orchids hanging from the window of the room - there are many celebrities who love unusual hotels, even politicians (Bill Clinton, for example). Similar apartments above the ground are still in India: the Creek n Crag’s hotel has only two rooms made of bamboo and twine, but they are located on the territory of an old coffee plantation, in the middle of a wild forest, and the verandas face the watering place of the “local residents”.

Unusual hotels of the world - railway romance

The hotel complex Crown Plaza Hotel & Conference Center is a real hub station, where guests are accommodated in decommissioned wagons and hold business events, it is included in the Register of National Historic Places (USA). In Indianapolis, the railway station was once located in the business center of the city, so sleeping cars on their own rail tracks are always in the spotlight and are not empty. Each rarity is named and decorated in honor of the celebrities of the twentieth century - Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill, Cowell Porter, Gene Harlow. The piquancy is that the station lives its own life and still misses the regular trains on schedule.

Unusual hotels of the world - cave age

60 km from Granada (Spain) there is a complex of caves that have served people faithfully for more than 7 centuries. Once here they were hiding from the raids of Muslim armies, and nowadays the 23 grottoes were mastered by the Cuevas Pedro Antonio De Alarcón hotel. All his apartments are carved in clay rocks, and inside the caves there is always a pleasant coolness - regardless of the heat prevailing outside. It sounds ascetic, but the hotel has a swimming pool, a solarium, and a jacuzzi. And nearby - the Sierra Nevada Nature Reserve, a medieval castle, a hippodrome. The hotel’s closest twin brother is the Turkish Gamirasu in Cappadocia, rebuilt on the site of a Byzantine monastery with a thousand-year history. The difference is that the coolness in the rooms here is not created by clay, but by rock from volcanic ash.

People have been living in these caves for more than 700 years!

There is no sense and no.

Unusual hotels of the world - a children's fairy tale

Sparkles Family and Celebration Theme Hotel is a dream for little travelers. The mini-hotel in the city of Blackpool (United Kingdom) all resembles a white and black speckled Dalmatian, and tinsel, garlands and pink boas are glued everywhere. The walls of the rooms are plush, the chairs are in the form of high-heeled shoes, and each lunch or dinner is themed food feast. Yes, and all entertainment programs give a little of either fun madness or childhood: slides, trampolines, dry pools. And the owners themselves are professional animators and visionaries.

It is checked on itself: where inveterate travelers spend the night

We asked the famous traveler, journalist and TV presenter Mikhail Kozhukhov to recall the most unusual hotels from his practice. And we caught him immediately after his return from a long trip to Central America. It is difficult to count how many hotels in the world he had to stop for his practice (and the host of the projects “In Search of Adventure” and “Around the World” has been traveling the world for nearly 30 years). However, the most vivid memories of the president of the "Travel Club Mikhail Kozhukhov" remained from only two incredible places where he was once lucky to visit.

Mikhail Kozhukhov told us about the most unusual hotels in the world, in his opinion

... in the castle of the Marquis de Carabas

The first is in France. There is such department number 17 there, it is also the Seaside Charente, where the Marquis de Carabas once lived. The writer Charles Perrault once met him in Paris, and as a result, this nobleman became the prototype of the hero of the famous fairy tale "Mr. Puss, or Puss in Boots." So the castle of this Carabas has been preserved, it stood for a long time ownerless until it was bought by an Italian family and breathed life into it (private residential castle La Roche Courbon / Chateau de La Roche Courbon). There are several rooms equipped with the standard of a five-star hotel. The only negative is that there is no kitchen. And when you stay there for the night, the castle, that is, its fence, is locked, leaving the guests alone.

It so happened that I was there with Vladimir Krestovsky, the leader of the Uma Thurman group. It is absolutely fantastic to feel like the owner of a castle with all its dining rooms, huge tables, marquise utensils, ghosts (there they have some kind of horse grazing at night). And the castle is absolutely real - with a moat, a park, such a stone, with spiral staircases and loopholes. The sensations are unusual, incredible. Despite the fact that this is not at all some crazy money, the price is affordable for anyone who can afford the trip to France itself. Staying there for a week is stupid, and spending the night is a wonderful experience. And when morning comes, the gates open and bring breakfast ... you feel almost like the Marquis de Carabas.

... at the edge of David Livingston

In Zambia, Victoria Falls has a hotel called Sussi & Chuma. That was the name of the two natives who drove Livingstone malaria patient (a well-known African explorer who lived in the 19th century, a fighter against the slave trade, Dr. David Livingstone, Scot Scot) and even then his body when the doctor died during the expedition. The hotel was built in the National Park on such tall pillars, between which, that is, in fact, beneath you, elephants walk, all kinds of birds fly. Monkeys steal breakfast, which is served to you. Room - absolute comfort, directly beyond: heated mattresses, copper washbasins and other luxury attributes.

Most of all, it shocked me that there was a book next to the bed, and in it was a note and a mail envelope. This was a letter from the owners of the hotel as follows: we offer you one of our favorite books about Africa, we hope you enjoy it. If you do not have time to read it before the end of your stay at our hotel, please send it to us by mail in the envelope that is attached. This is so moving! The highest manifestation of customer focus. And it's expensive. But it’s impossible to save your whole life on yourself, and this is the high cost that remains in your memory forever, and then throwing away some other broken TV you understand that you don’t mind that money spent, because you have emotions and impressions forever.

You lie to yourself, read a book about Africa - and elephants walk under the house. Cedarberg Travel Photos

Blogger travelers: 200 days a year on trips

Orest Zub and Marta Trotsyuk are not looking for specially unusual hotels: they value comfort. However, the rich experience of moving without adventure is not complete, some special places still came across.

Unusual hotels of the world -Africa and Japan

“More recently, we visited East Africa, and the most extraordinary place to spend the night there was a small guesthouse in the National Park named after Queen Elizabeth In Uganda. I was struck by the fact that we were immediately warned: at night from the house, not a single step, there are a lot of wild animals around, and the most dangerous ones are hippos, they come out of the water and rummage in search of food, often attack people. By the way, it is these animals that kill the most people in Africa, not the lions or leopards. We saw one in the water, but at night we really did not look for adventure.

By chance, through a resource, Airbnb got into an incredibly traditional room, like in films about samurai. Such minimalism was not found anywhere else: in the room there were only tatami (mats on the floor), a closet built into the wall, from which mattresses for these tatami were pulled out, there was a sliding door, almost cardboard walls - that’s all! ”

Unusual hotels of the world - Southeast Asia

“Many people dream of living in a wooden treehouse by the beach and falling asleep to the sound of the surf. We also had such a dream, but after the first night in Cambodia's bungalow, we realized that it wasn’t so romantic when biting mosquitoes fly through huge gaps, the wind brings sand and you need to go down to the toilet to the toilet. After the second night in such Robinson's conditions, we moved 200 m from the beach to standard comfortable conditions.

Two years ago they traveled around Taiwan and spent a week in a tea meditation center. This is a bunch of people who idolize tea. We woke up at dawn for a week, meditated for an hour, had breakfast, then spent three hours discussing tea, in the evening again meditation and food (vegetarian). And once in Bali, they lived for 3 weeks on a family estate that resembled a temple complex with many chapels. This typical middle-income family consisted of several dozen people, in the morning they brought us food and in general created complete comfort. But the feeling that we were living in a monastery did not leave. ”

Unusual hotels of the world - South America

“Last year, on the road from Argentina to Chile, crossing the Andes, we stopped at the foot of Mount Aconcagua (the highest in the world outside the Himalayas, 6900 m above sea level). The only place for an overnight stay was the climbers' camp: a place where equipment is prepared before climbing, things are sorted out. In the lowlands, we were languishing from the 40-degree heat, and here it was frost, we put on all the clothes that we had, snuggled together to warm ourselves, but what was nearby was the Queen Mountain. By the way, the camp was near the cemetery of climbers, and the dead were regularly demolished from the mountain. ”

There are stylized houses of a hunter, huntsman, fisherman, and also a sheep farm and natural sheep cheeses (they say, one of the largest in Europe).

Underwater hotel

After spending the night in a Boeing 747, we’ll sink to the bottom of the sea! Currently, there are several underwater hotels in the world, but the very first of them was opened in 1986 in Florida and is called Jules Undersea Lodge.

Jules differs from its competitors in miniature and fairly budget accommodation (a night will cost about $ 40 per person). Even celebrities stayed at the hotel, such as Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. But if you decide to spend the night here, remember - check-in is carried out in scuba gear!

Hotel out of the trash

The original hotel was built by German eco-artist Hans Schult as part of the Save the Beach project! So the hotel Coronita Save the Beach was erected in the center of Madrid in a matter of hours. For this it was necessary to collect 12 tons of garbage on the beaches of Italy, Spain and France, which served as the main component of the hotel’s decor.True, this means of garbage disposal did not last long - only 4 days, but there was a lot of noise and thus the project lived up to its goal - it drew people's attention to the problem of environmental pollution.Later, similar hotels received guests in other cities of Europe, for example, in Rome. By the way, it was possible to stay in hotels from the garbage for free, winning accommodation through a lottery arranged by the project organizers via twitter and facebook.

Hotel in concrete pipes

This Spartan hotel, called the Das Park Hotel, is located in the park of the Austrian city of Ottensheim. The idea to equip rooms in water pipes came to the mind of architect Andreas Schraus. Of course, there is no heating in such concrete "bungalows" and therefore the hotel only accepts its guests in the warm season - from May to October. But in the "rooms" there is a large bed, bedding, electricity and a safe for valuables.

In addition, not only the hotel itself is unusual, but also its financial policy - here, each guest decides how much to pay for his stay!

Ice hotel

If you really want a real winter, then there is nothing better than staying at a hotel whose name speaks for itself - ICEHOTEL. It is located in Sweden, in the town of Jukkasjärvi, only 200 km. from the Arctic Circle and almost entirely made of ice, which is "mined" from the River Tournai.

What to do during your stay at ICEHOTEL? Well, of course, look at the northern lights, learn to sculpt ice sculptures, drink cocktails from ice glasses in the ice bar, and there’s a chance to catch pneumonia (God forbid, of course)! Due to the latter circumstance, it is not recommended to stay here for more than 1-2 nights ...

The most interesting thing is that having worked out the "hot" winter season, the hotel is melting so that it can be reborn again next year.So hurry up: the 24th season at the ICEHOTEL hotel is already open!

Capsule hotel

Capsule hotels are now almost no surprise. They begin to appear everywhere, including in Russia! But the concept of capsule hotels received a ticket to life, of course, in Japan! As you know, the land of the Japanese is worth its weight in gold, so hotel accommodation is by no means cheap. But in 1979, a man named Kisho Kurakawa came up with how to make the cost of accommodation cheaper in Osaka and the first capsule hotel was opened.

Now the largest of these hotels in the world is the Green Plaza Shinjuku Hotel. It is of course located in Tokyo. It is equipped with as many as 660 capsules in size 1x2x1. However, Plaza Shinjuku is not the only capsule hotel in the Japanese capital. So, be in Tokyo - stay in one of the capsule hotels, at least out of interest!

Crazy Hotel

You must admit that a hotel with the name Crazy House simply cannot be ordinary by definition! And there is. The Vietnamese Crazy House looks more like some kind of bizarre work of mother nature than a man-made object.

It is located in the Vietnamese resort town of Dalat and was designed by the female architect Hang Viet Nga. We must pay tribute to her imagination and determination to implement such an extraordinary project in socialist Vietnam. Gaudi’s work probably helped her with her ideas, and her close relationship with the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam helped with her implementation. Be that as it may, Crazy House is one of the most impressive and unusual hotels in the world.

Hotel on the trees

Truly Sweden is the champion in the number of unusual hotels! So the hotel on the trees is also located in Sweden, in the north, in the thicket of a pine forest on the banks of the Lul River. The hotel consists of several separate bungalow rooms located 4-6 meters above the ground. Each home has an individual design created by the best designers in Scandinavia.

Only here you can stay in a mirror cube, in a UFO or a bird's nest ... A few more original buildings are next in turn. In general, Tree Hotel is an ideal place to meditate in the bosom of pristine Swedish nature and to observe the northern lights from "your" UFO or nest (a matter of taste).

Hey everyone!

Once again, having watched the magnificent, in my opinion, film “Radiance”, made from the book of the cult writer, horror king Stephen King, I thought about unusual hotels (of course, this article will not deal with such “unusual things”).

Questions arose about how many there are in the world and how unusual they are, whether they exist in our country and what is needed (and whether it is necessary at all) to make an ordinary hotel unusual.

Let us think for a moment what rest means for you and what is necessary for it to be remembered in a hotel near Moscow? We need a room in which we will live, food (preferably included in the price, it is important for us), entertainment, such as billiards, Velikov, pool and so on, as a bonus beach and pavilions on the beach. Having said about the beach, of course I mean summer.

In any hotel of the Yakhont chain you will find all of the above and even more.

But recently, I began to notice that vacationers are making more and more demands and complaints. In my opinion, all this is spoiled by foreign resorts. Favorite phrase: “For the same money, I can go to Turkey or Egypt, to a 4-5-star hotel, where everything will be included and also the sea.” Honestly, it is tempting to say: “What then did you forget here? If it's so bad here? ” or "Man, why compare the candy with the cutlet? Return to reality and look at things soberly! ” All these resort countries live off tourism, it is developed there, as I do not know that, this train was launched a long time ago, unlike our country.

What can I say, the lion's share of the population loves innovations and unusualities) Crafts, barbershops, quest rooms (they are also performance quests, pedestrian quests, quests using modern technologies, labyrinth quests and the like), anti-cafes and much more wildly popular.

So, every area of our life is gradually changing, some like it, some not so much. Let's talk about the hospitality industry. How can she surprise us? Our Motherland is trying to keep up with modern trends and also boasts unusual hotels.

I present to you the unusual hotels of Russia:

    Hotel at the stadium

Yes, that's right) The hotel is in the stadium. Kazan is a wonderful city, offers to settle on the eastern platform of the Kazan Arena. For football fans, there is no better option. The rooms overlook the football field. The world, of course, is not surprising, since there are similar hotels in the USA and Canada, but this hotel was the first in Russia!)

    Hotel at the Hermitage Museum

This hotel, of course, is not in the museum itself, but is a continuation of it. The hotel is located in St. Petersburg and impresses with its luxury design. The number of rooms is designed in the Baroque and Rococo style, and the apartments will help you transfer to the residence of the Russian emperors, which provides an excellent opportunity to extend your acquaintance with the museum's collection.

And most interestingly, this is the only hotel in the world operating under the brand of the museum. Here we definitely stood out) Nice, right?)

    Hotel "Castle of Dreams"

The hotel is located in Domodedovo and the number of rooms, which has only 6 rooms, is almost impossible to describe. It also looks like a dream castle (it’s hard to even imagine who is dreaming of). Everything is not as scary as you already had time to think, but on the contrary, it is fabulous and unusual.

Here you can see apartments stylized as a sea cloister, the bed is made in the form of a huge white sink (a sea shell, not a wash basin). And here’s another room called the Garage, where the bed looks like a red convertible. And in the Heaven room, you will sleep on the bed in the form of a fluffy cloud; the Senoval room will surprise guests with a cart-shaped bed in sunflowers. Sounds interesting)

    Chamber Hotel "Library"

This is my personal favorite! It’s immediately clear that there are books everywhere, you can read what you want for your pleasure, and the cherry on the cake is that you can exchange your book for any of the “Libraries”).

The numbers here are called "volumes" and are designed in the motives of classical literature. There are not many numbers here, only 10 - you can find yourself in the work “Master and Margarita”, in the looking glass “Alice in Wonderland”, relax with “The Great Gatsby” or “Eugene Onegin”, and also plunge into the summer with the work “Dandelion Wine” ".

    Hotel-castle "Nesselbek"

I decided to include this hotel in this collection because of its incredible atmosphere. Here you can truly visit the Middle Ages. Nesselbek is located near Kaliningrad.

How do you look at crossing the seas and oceans and finding out what is surprising there? Chased)

    Hotel Marmara Antalya

This hotel is conveniently located in Turkey, on the cliffs of Falez. If you just get caught in the picture, then most likely you will think that this is the most ordinary Turkish hotel. But! This is the only rotating hotel in the world. As you fall asleep you will enjoy the view of the pool, and when you wake up you will have a beautiful view of the sea. But the surprises do not end there. The three lower floors are completely submerged in water.

    Balancing Barn Hotel

This hotel is located in the UK and is rightfully on the list of the most unusual hotels in the world. The length of the hotel is about 30 meters, 15 of which hang over the slope. Its charm is that the landscape changes as the plane tilts. First, you admire nature from the level of the earth's surface, which gradually reaches the level of tree crowns.

    Hotel "Magic Mountain"

Chilean hotel with its appearance resembles a house of gnomes or a volcano, which covers the lush greenery of plants, and a waterfall rapidly descends from the top. One gets the feeling that this hotel was created by nature itself. Access to the hotel is only possible via a suspended wooden bridge. The rooms (total 13) bear the names of the birds living in the reserve, in the territory of which the hotel is located.

    Hotel «Propeller Island City Lodge»

This hotel can be found in the capital of Germany, Berlin. You will definitely not find two identical numbers here, each work of art. For example, one of the rooms is completely mirrored, and you go into another, there the floor is located at an angle. Here (if there is such a desire) you can spend the night in a real coffin or in a bed bolted to the ceiling. And if you want, you can stay in the room, which is an exact copy of the prison cell. A lover of thrills and those who think that life is boring and sad exactly here)

    Hotel «La Villa Hamster»

Left this hotel in the end! Of course, I am not a special connoisseur of France, but here the French really really surprised me. This hotel has only one room. If you ever wanted to feel like a hamster, then this is the most ideal option. In the room you will find a container with grain, a barrel of water, a bed, which can be climbed exclusively by an iron staircase that hangs in the air. Designers thought through everything to the smallest detail, where did you see a hamster who would not like to run in a wheel? So here it is, if you become bored in it you can run around (even together). Well, to really feel like a hamster, so to speak to be in his skin, you will be given a hamster costume upon arrival)

Everyone is looking for a holiday to taste, and the modern world is doing everything possible for this. We are so different that someone would really enjoy living in a room styled as a prison cell, sleep in a cart bed, and stay in a hamster for someone (yes, this hamster still doesn’t let me go) . But it’s worth considering that the “unusual” hotels for the most part are taken precisely by their unusualness and atmosphere, and not by the service.

And even the "ordinary" hotels try to keep up and please their guests with the service, amenities and entertainment. Yachts are among them, we are developing, improving. Yes, the Yakhont cannot offer you rooms on a tree or underground, but it can offer another, no less important ... rest for the soul, in peace, surrounded by native nature and fresh air. I think it's worth a lot.

Learn new things, experiment, get better and never give up!
