After a tiring day at work or on a day off, Muscovites love to come to Golitsynsky Pond. It is located on the right bank of the Moscow River in the famous Moscow Gorky Park. This corner of nature has everything that can make your vacation pleasant and unforgettable.

The embankment of Golitsynsky Pond has been restored and improved, it is lined with wood. There are cozy sunbeds, wooden benches and tables right next to the water. You can sunbathe, relax, surf the Internet - for the comfort of guests there are sockets and free Wi-Fi is excellent. So, far from stuffy offices, you can fruitfully combine rest and work.

It is very interesting that there are many different fish in this city pond. Some species were specially released into the pond to clean it. For example, silver carp and grass carp have taken root well in the Golitsynsky pond; they reach decent sizes. Fishermen with fishing rods are also frequent guests here - fishing is not prohibited here.

Fans of water trips have boats and catamarans at their disposal, where you can sail alone, as a couple or in a small group. The pond area is quite extensive. You can not only roam its expanses, but also feed the local feathered inhabitants, swans and ducks, who are not at all afraid of man and graciously accept his gifts.

Golitsynsky pond – favorite place Moscow loving couples. It's especially romantic here in the evenings. Clean air, the sun hiding in the cool waters, the quiet rustle of coastal plants attract young and not so romantics to sit on the shore, admiring the sunset. And when the sun has hidden, you can look at the shimmering pond, slightly illuminated by multi-colored lamps. There is silence all around, and a light summer breeze moves the leaves of trees invisible in the darkness. Reeds, reeds, colorful water lilies and lilies are planted along the cozy embankment, which gives the landscape a special charm and sophistication. If you wish, you can hide from prying eyes and enjoy a wonderful evening in solitude.

Golitsynsky Pond is very popular among Muscovites. This is one of most picturesque places Moscow, successfully combining the beauty and purity of Russian nature with the achievements of modern civilization. It makes sense to come here at any time of the year, and even in bad weather here you can mentally relax away from the smog and dust of the big city.

I have already repeatedly addressed the topic of fishing in the very center of the capital. In previous issues of the magazine, my articles were published about perch on the Vodootvodny Canal, about catching pike perch in midnight Moscow, and about jig rigs for metropolitan street fishing. But with each fishing experience is gained, new details and observations appear, fishing spots and bait - everything that makes fishing brighter and more emotional. In this article I will share my discoveries, I hope that this will be interesting to someone.

Rotating spoons in the center of Moscow

It would seem that fishing with this type of bait is not compatible with the high parapets and cunning fish of the center of Moscow. But it is not so. Spinner spinners have some absolutely wonderful qualities.

Firstly, they are very fast in terms of fishing the territory, which allows you to quickly skim the cream of the fishing area and go home after a hard day of work, rested and having received your portion of happiness.

Secondly, the rotating spoon in the center of Moscow is what is called a “shooting” bait. It happens that it outperforms the most sophisticated wobblers and the most “edible” soft plastic baits by a large margin. Why this happens, you need to ask the fish, I’m just stating a fact.

Thirdly, a spinner is a bait, the wiring and control of which is less influenced by the wind than, say, a jig or a jerking wobbler.

In fact, spinners intersect very noticeably with cranks, which I talked about in the last issue of the magazine. But sometimes they catch the “fat fish,” so it’s advisable to have at least a few of them in your arsenal. Rotating spoons can be used when fishing both from piers and from high embankments. If fishing from piers is generally understandable, then for fishing from high embankments I can give a couple of tips. Look at the photo below. This is a typical coastal section of the Moscow River in summer and early autumn, overgrown with thickets of egg capsules. From the high embankment, corridors are clearly visible along which you can move a rotating spoon between the plants. Here we, street fishermen, need to find the trajectory of moving the spoon between sections of thicket, just as when fishing with a foam rubber, an angler feels for the corridors between snags. Although not necessarily a spinner, this also applies to cranks and jerking wobblers!

And further. A rotating spoon does not have a blade that would deepen it, so in these conditions “spinners” with a heavy core are in great demand. They are easier to carry out at the required depth and speed. But models with heavy cores often have trouble starting in calm water conditions or very weak currents. The exception is “turntables” made with a tungsten core, which have the index TB (Tungsten Body - tungsten core) in their name. The petal in all sizes on the models I fished with starts with half a turn, and there’s no need to talk about options without a tungsten core.

From my point of view, for fishing in the center of Moscow you need to have models in sizes from #00 () to #3 (). This is enough to feel confident standing on piers almost at the water's edge, as well as on a high embankment with a decent breeze.

Fishing by points or about crayfish Issei BiBiBi Bug

If you take an evening stroll along the Moscow River from the Kievskaya metro station to the Delovoy Tsentr station, you will find several absolutely killer spots. In this area, in several places there are drains with very good water pressure. These are the so-called superpoints that need to be given the closest attention. Fish loves the current, so perch and goby often stand in the pit under the drain, and asp and chub are pulled up. But if the white predator in the center of Moscow is a complex and unstable fish, then you can always “pull” a couple of “tails” of the perch without leaving the spot. In addition, there are floating restaurants in the area - converted various river boats, and where they stood, a corresponding relief formed. Catching near such restaurants is one of my favorite types of street fishing. The capital authorities are fighting them, so today every restaurant is worth its weight in gold. I remember in an article about fishing in such places on Frunzenskaya embankment, which, by the way, is now completely cleared from restaurants, I voiced general recommendations and advised several killer baits, but time is ticking... Something new has appeared in the materiel, for example, “silicone” crayfish from the brilliant Japanese designer and developer Haruhiko Murakami long 2.6'' (6.6 cm), which I already mentioned once. I caught it this summer a large number of fish, so I can safely say: this is a very, very cool bait! There's clearly some attractant mixed into it, because the perch just chews on it. I once pulled out a perch that was hanging on the tail of a crayfish!

Fishing by points on the Issei BiBiBi Bug.

But with the goby, I made a discovery for myself - small trout “shakers”. Technically, everything is very simple: cast along the concrete bank or slightly diagonally from it. We wait for the moment the spoon falls to the bottom and begin to slowly turn the reel handle so that the bait goes near the bottom, often touching it. Or another option: we carry out the “oscillator” with small tosses or pulls with the tip of the spinning rod above the bottom. This beast on the wire hits the “oscillator” with all its might! With soft plastic attached to the hook, bites become noticeably more, but I like to use oscillating spoons in their original form. Try it!

While fishing on Maly Golitsynsky Pond, I got into conversation with a lady selling ice cream at a nearby kiosk. She advised me to go to Catherine’s Pond, because “when I worked there, every now and then someone would splash in the pond.” Of course I went. Catherine's Pond is a tiny shallow pond with filtered big amount algae until the tears are clean with water. Where could there be fish here? I probably wouldn’t have made the cast if I hadn’t seen a one and a half kilogram pike on the surface, gone to another world... This was a sign that there might be fish here! You won't believe it, but I caught a couple of perch there and saw several more, including a small pike. Again on the turntables - reliable, like a Kalashnikov assault rifle! Don't pass by this pond, just let the fish go.

Catching a bull with the ValkeIN Circle “micro spinner” was the opening of the season for me!

By the way, there is a monument to street fishers next to it! Just kidding, of course...

There is also St. Andrew’s Pond in Neskuchny Garden, but we are not interested in it yet. By all indications, the pond has recently been put in order; our fish are not there, only a school of neglected crucian carp.

My faithful assistants on street fishing fishing trips summer season there were two spinning rods that complemented each other: with a test weight of up to 5 g and a more powerful one - up to 10.5 g. I already talked about the first rod in relation to microjig fishing, but today I want to note that it is great for fishing with the smallest rotating spoons, the play of which is transmitted both to the tip of the rod and to the hand, as well as to small trout “spinners” from 1.5 g and small cranks. I have plans for this rod for sea fishing and pond trout fishing. But more on that next time.

The mini-vib ValkeIN Li Worm turned out to be very effective for perches in the center of Moscow.

But regarding up to 10.5 g, I would like to say a few words. In recent years, quite a lot of “lights” with a length of 7-7’6’’ feet with a conditional test of up to 12 g in a wide variety of price categories have passed through my hands. made an indelible impression on me. Definitely one of the best fishing rods I've ever encountered! It has a throwing form, the work of “spinners” of even the smallest size is transferred to the hand. works great with small cranks and deep shads and minnows up to 65-70 mm, jig wiring from 5 g is controlled by hand. A very, very loud rod! I strongly recommend this model to those who are looking for a light spinning rod for all types of baits. Very urgent!

See you again in the center of Moscow!
