People regularly contact the District Directorate with complaints that either the telephone or the TV does not work in their homes, or there is no electricity at all. Most often, such interruptions occur due to damage by construction workers to communications.

“For five years in a row we have been promised that we will be relocated, and we are preparing, we are not updating anything in the apartments. And every year there’s a new schedule!”  - said Lyudmila Ulyanova.

Uma Magometova and her son Marat go for a walk every day on the site in front of house No. 5/2 on Glavmosstroy Street. “We want to play and run, but there’s nowhere—there’s no lawn. The slide is filled with mud, there is no place to sit on the bench. For three years there has been the same picture in front of the house - they are tearing it up and burying it,” says Uma Magometova.

“There is probably five times more residential space appearing in the area. So why are we forced to wait so long and live in the middle of construction, noise, dirt, in terrible conditions, in old houses?”  - said Alexey Eremin, a resident of house No. 3 on Glavmosstroy Street.

Alexey Eremin says that due to construction, passages are often blocked: “I can’t imagine what will happen on our street when everything is completed, if it’s already impossible to either enter or leave Solntsevo —there are traffic jams at Glavmosstroy every day.”

ANSWER. Dmitry Shalaev, deputy head of the Solntsevo district administration, said that this year it is planned to resettle residents of only four five-story buildings, at the addresses: Glavmosstroy Street, 14 and 16, Bogdanova Street 26/3 (partial resettlement) and 26/4.

To questions about resettlement plans for 2009 and about the demolition program as a whole, Dmitry Shalaev answered: “The precise timing of the demolition of the remaining five-story buildings will be determined after approval of the resettlement schedule by the mayor of Moscow.”
