Phi Phi archipelago in Thailand. Phi Phi Don Island: a complete guide with photos and videos. Phi Phi and Phi Phi Don Islands: description, beaches, photos, recommendations

Thailand has more than a hundred islands: some of them are practically uninhabited, others are luxurious resorts. Phi Phi (also called Pi Pi, Phi Phi) belong to both categories. Of the six islands in the archipelago, only two are easily accessible, the rest are uninhabited. Phi Phi Don is the center of tourist life, there are hotels, shops, and a transport interchange. Koh Phi Phi Le is known for its fantastic scenery and Maya Bay, where DiCaprio's The Beach was filmed.

Phi Phi on the map

Interestingly, only on this island there are tourist hotels, shops, restaurants and other benefits of civilization. Tourists go to the rest of the islands for the impressions of the picturesque nature, as well as for various entertainments, such as diving and snorkeling.

Where is Koh Phi Phi

The Phi Phi archipelago is located between the mainland of Thailand near the city of Krabi and Phuket in the waters of the Andaman Sea. Also, it is worth noting that the island is quite unique in its shape. A kilometer sand spit connects two large monoliths. This spit is about 150 m wide at its narrowest point. The island also has a port that is capable of receiving sea vessels. It is also interesting that this is a pedestrian island. There are no cars or mopeds here. The only vehicles allowed here are boats and bicycles.

How to get to Phi Phi Don

Before traveling to the resort, it is worth considering the question “how to get to Phi Phi?”. All hotels are located on the inhabited island of Phi Phi Don. Especially when you consider the fact that there is no airport here. Therefore, you can only get to Sotra by swimming, many ferries from Phuket, Krabi and other surrounding areas of Thailand go here. You can get here by ferry or speedboat.

Phuket ferry departs from Rassada Pier. Ferry from Krabi departs from Klong Jilard pier near Krabi town.

Prices are different, the easiest and most economical option is to get to the Rassada Pier in Phuket (Rassada Pier) and take the Express Ferry Boat. The cost of a one-way ticket is 400 baht (round trip with an open return date - 700 baht), a children's ticket is slightly cheaper. Travel time is about 1.5 - 2 hours.

Tickets can be bought at the airport, from travel agents and right on the beach. Prices are higher on the beach, so we recommend planning a trip to the Phi Phi Islands in advance.

The ferry has an open deck, an indoor air-conditioned room, a bar and a toilet. Another way to get to Phi Phi Don is to go on an excursion and get acquainted with all the sights of the islands in a short time.

Phi Phi Ley

Phi Phi Le (Lei) Island is located a couple of kilometers south of the residential island. In fact, these are large rocks that sometimes reach 100 m in height, along which there are several picturesque bays. Despite the uninhabited island, there are a lot of tourists here. After all, there is something to see here.

Excursion to Phi Phi from Phuket

The Phi Phi Islands in Thailand are a popular family holiday destination. If you are not going to linger on Phi Phi, but just want to see the most famous and beautiful places, such as Maya Bay, then you should consider the option of a guided tour. It will cost less than an independent trip with accommodation, meals and a trip to DiCaprio Beach. In addition to Maya Beach, on the island of Phi Phi Le, Tham Viking attracts the attention of tourists - a cave of swallow nests, from which locals make various delicacies.

Leonardo DiCaprio beach

Tourists began to go to Phi Phi only after the release of the film with the participation of Leonardo DiCaprio "The Beach" in 2000. After the release of the film, the beach became known as Leonardo DiCaprio Beach. After all, all the shooting took place in this picturesque place. Now there are entertainment for every taste and there are even several attractions. Excursions to Phi Phi Ley are held regularly, as there are a lot of interesting and exciting things.

Of the attractions, one can single out Maya Bay with the beach of the same name. Just this beach and was shown in the film. This bay is an amazing and colorful lagoon, which is hidden from three sides behind high hundred-meter cliffs.

The beach here is small - only 200 m. But at the same time, they are underwater with amazing bright coral fish. Many tourists come here in search of that solitude that was shown in the film, and when they come here they may be disappointed.

This is because, due to the crowds of tourists, there is no trace of solitude here. In order to feel the solitude here, you should come here either before 7 am or after 5 pm. It was then that all the tourists go back to the big island or to Phuket, mostly excursions to Phi Phi Island come from Phuket.

Diving in Phi Phi Islands

Many of the picturesque landscapes on Phi Phi are hidden under water. Beautiful rocks, corals, underwater caves, a variety of marine life - all this awaits guests of the Phi Phi Islands.

On Phi Phi Don, divers practically do not dive, preferring more secluded and picturesque islands nearby. Visibility fluctuates, maximum - from December to April (25-30 meters), in other months - up to 10 meters.

Diving spots in Phi Phi Islands:

    • Koh Bida Nai is a beautiful rock island covered with sponges and corals. Considered one of the best diving spots.
    • Koh Bida Nok is a tiny island, but that hasn't stopped it from becoming the most popular dive site. Memorable views and shallow depths in the southern part of the lagoon make Bida Nok an ideal place for beginners.
    • Maya Bay is a bay on the island of Phi Phi Le where the film "The Beach" with DiCaprio was filmed. It is almost impossible to see the iconic desert views live - there are a lot of tourists. However, there are many marine activities offered here, one of which is diving into the Maya Cave grotto (Maya Cave).

From entertainment, as already mentioned above, snorkeling and diving in Phi Phi can be distinguished. Many people know what diving is. But what is snorkeling?

In fact, everything is simple. This is swimming near the surface under water with a snorkel, mask and fins. You will definitely enjoy this type of swimming.

Almost all hotels on the island are located on its sandy spit. These are the famous Visa Travel Team, Phi Phi Insula, Panmania and many others. Mostly on the island there are two and three star hotels. But there are also guesthouses here, where you can stay on average for 450 baht for a double room. If you have a very modest budget, then there is a cheaper option for you. However, it will be a bunk in a common room with no special amenities.

Let's consider some hotels in more detail: PP Princess Pool Villa is one of the most popular. It has three stars. The hotel has a very cozy garden with tropical trees, where you can drink tea and enjoy clean air in addition to walking.

Also, there is an outdoor pool where you can swim on a hot day. The hotel has a restaurant that serves tasty and satisfying meals. The hotel provides transfer from and to the airport from the mainland, which greatly increases the comfort for travelers. There is a laundry service, as well as room service. Many will be pleased with the availability of free Internet connection.

Viking Cave in Phi Phi

Another attraction of the island is the Viking Cave. It is located in the northern part of the island next to Pi Lei Bay. It is famous for the fact that drawings of people who lived here long before us are drawn on its rocks.

It is worth noting here that all the drawings have the theme of water, which means that these people were engaged in water crafts - fishing and swimming. In addition to drawings on the rocks, you can see swallow nests, which are all located on the same rocks. They are unique in that they are not made from branches and leaves, but from their saliva. They are considered edible in many East Asian countries such as China.

Stay in a bungalow in Phi Phi

A very popular type of accommodation on Phi Phi can be called a bungalow. Rawianda Villas is one of those. In addition to a cozy house, the guest has a safe, a refrigerator, an electric kettle, a hairdryer and much more. there is also an outdoor swimming pool and a garden on site, the view of which opens from the windows of some rooms. The hotel has three stars.

5 star hotels in Phi Phi

There are 2 comfortable five-star hotels here. These are Zeavola Resort and Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort. As for the former, guests can expect spacious suites, an outdoor pool, spa and white sand on their own private beach. Here you can visit diving courses, and the archipelago is offered with your guide. Of the entertainment, it is worth highlighting diving with sharks.

The on-site restaurant serves Thai and European cuisine. It is worth noting that each room is represented by a separate wooden house. They have everything. Here you can even take a rain shower right outside in the fresh air. All houses are buried in the greenery of gardens.

About the second hotel, Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort, you can mention its own white sand beach, tennis courts, diving center. In addition, there are 3 own restaurants, where guests can taste national dishes or European cuisine. The price for accommodation in such a hotel is quite high and starts from $ 117 per person per day. It is worth noting that there are also fitness and spa centers.

Phi Phi weather

The weather here changes infrequently. It's usually sunny and hot here. The air temperature ranges from 28 to 32 degrees. The most favorable period for visiting can be called the period from late autumn to late spring. It is at this time that it practically does not rain here, and the temperature does not fall below 27 degrees.

Island infrastructure

The island has dimensions of 3.5x8 km. But despite the size, the spit remains the most inhabited territory. It is here that the port, hotels, bars, restaurants are located. If you find out the prices for all these joys, then even a budget tourist can afford it. This area is called Ton Sai village. Also, it is in this area that there are very decent beaches, such as: Tonsai and Lo Delam, as well as Long Beach, which is located outside the village.

Beaches on Phi Phi

The beaches are good on the east side of the island. The largest of these are Lim Tong and Lo Ba Kao. They are very different from the beaches along the spit. If in the village of Ton Sai life is in full swing and does not stop even at night, then in this part of the island there are expensive and respectable hotels, and life here is quiet and measured.

Also, Phi Phi has several uninhabited beaches. This is where you can come if you want to enjoy the beautiful beauty of the nature of the island alone. Some of these are on the east coast, and some on the west.

Where to stay on Phi Phi, in any case, everyone chooses for himself based on his budget and preferences. Depending on what type of holiday you prefer - quiet and secluded or cheerful and noisy. After all, the islands of the archipelago delight with their variety of landscapes and entertainment.

For young people and travelers who come here, the Loh Dalum beach area is more suitable. Disco lights are lit here every night, and massage parlors and bars open their doors to visitors. But as for couples with children, it is better for them to give preference to the calm Long Beach, where there is practically no nightlife.

Video from the excursion to the Phi Phi Islands by ferry

In April, I visited the beloved islands of Phi Phi, where the film "The Beach" was filmed. This time I went without Slava, as he had already visited the island 3 years ago from Phuket. I will add his photo to the article too, so that you have a better idea of this place. My mother and I bought an excursion and, satisfied, went on a sea voyage.

Phi Phi

Phi Phi Islands: on your own or with a guided tour

Initially, we thought to go on our own. We wanted to be in Maya Bay all day. But, as it turned out, for this you need to either rent a small boat for 6-8 people. The cost of an independent trip to a longtail boat will be about 10 thousand baht. With the company is normal, but for two it's a little expensive.

The second option is to take a ferry to the island with an overnight stay. And from the embankment you can already get to Maya Bay by water taxi - longtail boats at a normal price. With an overnight stay, because the ferry only runs in the morning.

Hotels near Phi Phi Don >>

This option did not suit us either, since spending the night was not included in our plans. The sellers of the excursions didn’t answer us anything intelligibly on the trip on their own, shrugged their shoulders and offered a tour, which we eventually took.

Excursion to Phi Phi: reviews

For 1000 baht with bargaining, we bought a tour from a street travel agency and went to the islands, visiting lagoons and other nearby islands along the way. We were immediately warned that we would only be 45 minutes to Maya Bay. Well, there isn't much of a choice. only 45 minutes on one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand! So little! But I really wanted my mother to have a lot of impressions. After all, living in Krabi and not visiting PhiPhi is the same as coming from France without seeing the Eiffel Tower.

And mom and in Krabi on a high

We started at 8 am from Noparatara beach in Krabi. On the way to the islands, those who wish can go snorkeling.

Phi Phi Ley Island (Ko Phi Phi Ley)

And here he is! The stunningly beautiful uninhabited island of Phi Phi Ley. These islands were badly damaged by the tsunami that shook the entire Indian Ocean in December 2004, but now everything is in order. Perhaps Maya Bay has the most beautiful beach of all the islands. Later in this review, I will use photos from my trip with my mom and Slavina, photos from a previous visit to P.P.I.

The famous Maya Bay

Where can I order a transfer from the airport?

We use the service - Kiwi Taxi
Ordered a taxi online, paid by card. We were greeted at the airport with a sign with our name on it. We were taken to the hotel in a comfortable car. You have already talked about your experience In this article.

Phi Phi beach

Maya Bay is very small. All beauty spoil you know who? We are tourists. Yes, no matter how rude it may sound, but there are so many tourists that it is impossible to enjoy the beauty to the fullest. Very noisy and crowded, every minute they bring a new tour and take the old one. Everyone is taking pictures and running back and forth on the beach because they only have 40 minutes of time.

Tourist-crowded Phi Phi Beach

Speedboats are out of place. Enclose an already small bathing area

Helicopter still missing

How wonderful it can be to be alone. For a few seconds I closed my eyes and imagined that all the people had disappeared in order to feel at least a glimpse of the place where I had long wanted to find myself.

And as soon as I opened my eyes, I plunged into a harsh reality with humming motor boats, screaming guides, a crowd of people taking pictures of each other, children jumping in the water and crowds of Chinese. Slava was more fortunate at one time, in the next photo you can imagine that he is alone on the island

What PhiPhi looks like without tourists

We weren't able to get along like that. I kept trying to take good photos so that without strangers, but the bay is so small and crowded with tourists that then I spat and my mother and I ran in turn from one end of the beach to the other in order to have time to take a picture of at least ourselves against the backdrop of wonderful views.

And we arrived in April, when the season is already ending in Thailand. What is going on here in the high season, in December-January, I'm scared to imagine. Time flew by instantly. Saturated with emotions from both tourists and Maya Bay, we went further

Maya Bay beach

Photos from a trip in May. In the low season, there are much fewer tourists here.

Walk inland

Of course, it's a shame that so little time is given. Ideally, you need at least 3 hours to enjoy this wonderful tropical island. But if you do not linger anywhere, then you can have time to run around the island to another bay. Such a walk will take about 20 minutes. Here is what you can see:

The path goes through the ennobled jungle with dizzying views.

Fortunately, due to some remoteness and isolation from civilization, you, the bay, will not be so easy to spoil with exhaust gases, garbage and cigarette butts in the sand. Although, more and more tourists come every year.

Live the bay - you are beautiful!

Koh Phi Phi hotels

If you want to come to Phi Phi on your own, you will need to stay overnight. On the island of Phi Phi, hotels are available in different price categories. The choice of housing is wide, from budget bungalows with a fan to luxury resorts with a pool. Just keep in mind that there are no hotels in Maya Bay itself, they are all on the neighboring island of Ko Phi Phi Don, and you can get to the bay by boat in 15-20 minutes.

Phi Phi Islands is one of the most famous and most impressive places in Thailand, the pearl of Southeast Asia and a tourist Mecca, visited by many millions of tourists.

Phi Phi Islands are known for their breathtaking views, sheer cliffs and white sand beaches. However, the islands have become a hit tourist destination not only because of their beauty. The Phi Phi Islands are very well located, only a few dozen kilometers from Phuket and Krabi province, the two main tourist centers of southern Thailand. And, as a result, few tourists who have a rest there deny themselves the pleasure of visiting these fabulous places.

Usually, when it comes to the islands of Phi Phi, they think of the two largest islands of the archipelago, the island of Phi Phi Don and the island of Phi Phi Le. This is partly true, since these two islands account for most of the attractions of the archipelago. However, the other four islands also deserve to be remembered for their existence. This includes Mosquito Island, Bamboo Island, known for its quality beaches and shallow coral reefs, and the two Bida Islands, popular with snorkellers and one of the top 5 dive sites in all of Thailand.

Regarding the islands of Phi Phi, one should be noted, as it is not surprising, a little-known fact. You can not only go to these islands with a one-day excursion, but also comfortably live there for several days, since 80 hotels and guesthouses of Phi Phi Don island allow this. Moreover, living is not only comfortable, but also fun, since the Phi Phi Islands are among the most party places in southern Thailand. And this is the second, not particularly well-known fact, which is useful to know if you are going to tour the southern part of Thailand.

Phi Phi Don Island

The beaches of Koh Phi Phi Don

The small size of Koh Phi Phi Don should not fool you. There are not just a lot of beaches on the island, but a lot. There are 6 long beaches alone, with a length of more than 500 meters, on the island. And if we add to them smaller beaches, with a length of 100 - 200 meters, then the total number of beaches on the island of Phi Phi Don will be at least one and a half dozen pieces.

The beaches, however, are quite different from each other, and even if they are next to each other, the differences between them will be very striking. The reason for this diversity is simple and easy to explain. Phi Phi Don Island is mountainous and most of it is occupied by hills and rocks, the highest of which reach a height of three hundred meters. As a result, the island has long stretches of beaches located in the lowlands between the hills, there are small beaches hidden in the tropical thickets at the foot of the hills and hills, and there are very tiny beaches, it is not clear how they are located among the rocks vertically sticking out of the sea.

As you might guess, it’s impossible to see all these beaches in a day. The minimum amount of time required to explore the beaches of Koh Phi Phi Don is 3 days, and this is only if you work hard at this task from morning to evening. In the same case, if you don’t want to work hard, leisurely and lazy trips along the beaches will easily stretch out for you for a whole week.

More about the sights of Phi Phi Le Island

Maya Bay

Maya Bay is one of the most beautiful and most famous places in Thailand, a place visited by almost all tourists vacationing in the southern part of Thailand. The dimensions of Maya Bay are approximately 300 x 400 meters, along the edges of the bay there are monumental sheer cliffs. In addition to impressive cliffs, Maya Bay has a quality beach with fine, perfectly white coral sand and a coral reef located in the depths of the bay. The water in the bay is clean and clear, and this place is good for snorkeling, but with one caveat: all the fun.....

Loh Samah Bay is located in the southeastern part of Phi Phi Le Island, on the opposite side of the 200-meter isthmus that separates Loh Samah and Maya Bay. The coastline of Loh Samah Bay, as well as the coastline of the entire island of Phi Phi Le, is a solid wall of sheer 100-meter cliffs. Nevertheless, among these rocks there was a place for a small flat area, on which there is a rather interesting beach, not often visited by tourists. This beach is extremely colorful and worth a closer look, to appreciate the crystal clear water, the whiteness of the coral sand and the beauty of the rocks trampling the sky. .....

Pileh Bay (Ao Pileh)

Pileh Bay (Ao Pileh, Ao Pile) is another attraction of Phi Phi Le Island. It is a narrow canyon that cuts into the northeastern part of the island. The dimensions of Ao Pileh (Pile) Bay are impressive, with a width of just over 100 meters, the length of the bay is about 700 meters, and the height of the rocks rarely falls below 100 meters. As in the case of Loh Samah Bay, in Pileh Bay there was a place not only for sheer cliffs, but also for several tiny, but at the same time, very pretty beaches. There are also coral reefs in Pileh Bay, and Pileh Bay is one of the most popular snorkeling spots on Phi Phi Le Island. .....

Bamboo Island and Mosquito Island

The underwater world of the Phi Phi Islands. Coral reefs and reef fish.

The corals around the Phi Phi Islands are good and very diverse. In addition to soft corals, gorgonians and hard corals that are widespread in the Andaman Sea, bubble corals, acropores (table coral) and corals of the Faviidae family (brain coral) can be found near the Phi Phi Islands.

Sea anemones (anemones) are also found in large numbers. The color of these strange creatures can be quite unexpected, purple, pink or green. Sea anemones, like soft corals, are among the most beautiful inhabitants of the underwater world, and the Phi Phi Islands are one of the best places to see them.

Reef fish on the Phi Phi Islands are represented by quite traditional inhabitants: a variety of groupers, clownfish (clownfish), reef perches (snappers), scorpions, parrotfish (parrotfish), moray eels, fish from the lion fish family and others common to the tropics, underwater inhabitants.

Large inhabitants of the sea rarely enter the area of the Phi Phi Islands. The most dimensional of those that can most likely be found near the islands are the leopard shark (usually a little over a meter long, while being a cute and safe creature for humans) and the Hawksbill turtle, which reaches a meter in size.

More about the underwater world of the Phi Phi Islands:

Bida Nok and Bida Nai islands. Diving in Phi Phi Islands.

Bida Nok and Bida Nai are two small islands located two kilometers south of Koh Phi Phi Le. They are rocks vertically sticking out of the water with a diameter of just over 100 meters.

By themselves, these bare rocks are not particularly interesting, however, next to these rocks are the best diving sites in the Phi Phi Islands area. And given that the Phi Phi Islands are in the top 5 best diving spots in all of Thailand, then it makes sense to talk about these islands in more detail.

The water depth in the area of the islands is 10 - 30 meters, the water is quite clear, the current is weak, and this place is suitable for divers of any skill, including beginners. The underwater world near the Bida Islands is diverse and marine life is abundant. In particular, the main "hits" of the underwater world of the Andaman Sea are well represented: gorgonians (sea fan, sea fans) and soft corals. .....

Nightlife on Koh Phi Phi Don. Bars and night discos Tonsai Village.

The center of the nightlife of Koh Phi Phi Don is the town of Tonsai Village, located on the isthmus of the island, between the beaches of Tonsai and Lo Dalam. It’s really worth seeing what happens at night in Tonsai Village, especially considering that there are not so many places in Thailand where life is in full swing at night. To be quite precise, there are exactly two such places on the coast of the Andaman Sea: Patong in Phuket and Tonsai Village on Phi Phi Don.

So, if you are planning a trip to the south of Thailand, always keep in mind the fact that even in such a popular place as, people tend to go to bed at 10 pm. Other places, and, are better in this respect, but you can’t call them the center of nightlife either.

Let's hope that the above has already prepared you to settle closer to Tonsai Village and the question remains small: where and how to find these places with a bustling nightlife. The answer to this question is simple: you need to look for them by light, sound and smell;) But seriously, the village of Tonsai Village is small in size, and you definitely won’t pass by the main party places.

Some of these places are worth mentioning separately, for example, Reggae Bar, which, despite its name, is not a bar at all, but a hefty entertainment complex, known, among other things, for its regular Muay Thai fights. The latter, in truth, are not so much sports fights as staged fights, however, the public warmed up by drinks and such a spectacle quite successfully turns on. It turns on to such an extent that especially excited tourists regularly enter the ring, measure their strength with Thai professionals.

Another notable place is Carlitos Bar, a gathering place for the Swedish-Scandinavian party, known for its fire shows and relaxing music. The abundance of Swedes in this place should not surprise you. Just like Phuket and Pattaya are popular with Russian tourists, the islands of Phi Phi and Lanta have long been a destination for tourists from Scandinavia. This audience is not as phlegmatic as it is commonly thought, and in Carlitos Bar you will have a great opportunity to see what Scandinavian-style nightlife is all about.

In addition to these two, Tonsai Village will have at least two dozen more places where nightlife is in full swing. The style of these establishments is very different, the music is also very different, from ambient to hard dance. In general, all that is required of you is to simply go around Tonsai Village and find an institution in which you will be comfortable and which you will like.

Hi all!

Phi-Phi as the Russians call it or pee-pee in the correct way, it doesn’t matter, this is a beautiful island, where from morning till morning there is some kind of movement in the center and such a quiet paradise if you go deeper. Here is a completely different Thailand, there are no bikes and cars, the pristine nature is still preserved here, there are narrow streets and vast jungles, a monkey can come to you for breakfast, and in the evening sitting on the beach, listening to loud music echoing the sound of the surf, you understand that this is worth living for!

So let's go)

1. We buy ferry tickets. Where? In any place where you are offered excursions (of course, not with tour operators, I generally advise you never to listen to them). You buy round-trip tickets, but you have a return ticket with an open date, meaning you can return whenever you want! Plus, these tickets include a transfer from your hotel to the ferry and back. We bought tickets in Phuket Town - there is the lowest price, only 550 baht per person in both directions. If you don’t have the opportunity to get to the center, then you will buy tickets a little more expensive, I saw prices of 700-800 baht, but all the same, all costs in the end will be much less than if you bought an excursion. Plus, you are being transported on a huge three-deck ship, you can sunbathing on the roof

or sit under the air conditioner inside, each has its own place

.Yes, it sails longer than speed boats on excursions, but why are we in a hurry? The first time when we went on a tour on a boat, there were waves, we were thrown at them like that, everyone was screaming, someone was sick, it was scary, from all this the idea of the whole excursion was very spoiled, because on a one-day trip you are always somewhere then you swim (jump on the waves). A large ship will not be thrown like that. In general, further about tickets. If, nevertheless, you decide to get to Phuket Town, then here is a link to Google maps, where we got tickets, to the left of the intersection

2. We book a hotel. It took me two days) I will explain why: we were traveling with a child, so it was important for me that it was quiet at night, there were no cockroach beetles, housing should not have been on a steep mountain (and there are very there are many such hotels), but at the same time, so that everything is nearby. Here's another plus for an independent trip - you choose the accommodation that suits you. Although I personally had to sweat with this)) First you need to understand what you want. On Koh Phi Phi, the three most popular beaches and places to stay are:

The beach and the Tonsai area (Ton Sai) - in the middle of the pier, all ships and boats arrive here. Popular, dirty, there are both noisy and quiet places.

Loh Dalum Beach is the most popular beach. Party place at night, very loud music, a lot of people, the farther from this beach, the quieter, I advise you to look at the map.

Long Beach is a very beautiful and clean beach. It is considered one of the best. Housing is more expensive than anywhere else. It is better to choose it if you are not going to a party at all. It can be reached on foot through the jungle (30 minutes), but this is only for the sake of walking and interest, I think you won’t go there at night. Long tails (boats) also go from the center, it costs only 100 baht, 7 minutes and you are there, but at night, either they don’t go, or they charge a big price (this is what if you still want to go to a party)

Initially, we wanted to live there, there are good hotels, everything is clean and civilized, a good sea. But we really wanted to see everything, climb the observation deck and go, at least not to a party, but to a fire show ashore and drink local cocktails - this is definitely . On Lo Dalam itself, as I already wrote, there is a show and a disco until the morning, so we had one option left to deal with the Tonsai area. There are a lot of hotels on the mountain, of course there are steps, but the climbs are very steep, but it is there that monkeys can come to visit you. Housing there is usually not expensive. Therefore, if you are athletic young people without children, then why not. We chose a hotel far from the center to eat, we had to walk for 10 minutes at a leisurely pace to buy something, but it was exactly what I wanted, without mountains, but also almost in the jungle, sooo quiet, clean, air conditioning, rooms with tightly closed doors and windows (there are houses with slots, so all kinds of insects can come to visit you). And so we are never looking for picky and luxurious apartments) if there is a quiet area, in the morning cheerful drunken comrades will return and it is possible to go along this very road)

In general, if you have similar requirements as we do, I recommend the View Garden Resort hotel. We booked through agoda (by the way, I read that it is best to book hotels in Asia through this service, but I still always compare with everyone)

The hotel can be easily found upon arrival, but we did not want to waste time on this.

3. Of course, you are interested in the excursion program, which is included in the excursion from Phuket! The famous Maya Bay (where the film with DiCaprio "The Beach" was filmed), Monkey Island, Pele Bay and everything else you can also buy on the spot, all these excursions are already included in one tour, for a small price (400 baht saw the cheapest option is a complex of all excursions). Excursion kiosks are there at every turn. This time we did not take these excursions, since we were already everywhere, we just wanted to go to Maya Bay again, but there is no separate excursion there, but you can rent a boat for 1500 baht. We didn’t do this, because after nightly gatherings with a cocktail, we overslept) But we wanted to go in the morning, because then there are a lot of tourists. Therefore, even two days there may not be enough for you if you want to see everything, everything . Knowing everything, now I would go for a longer time.

In general, these are the most important points, without which your tour will not take place.

And here is our holiday schedule on Phi Phi Island:

As soon as we arrived, we immediately went to eat, then we found and checked into a hotel and immediately went on foot to Long Beach. Just on foot, because we are interested. Be prepared that the flat road ends there almost immediately and you will have to climb, jump, climb and not stumble) But you can take a boat from the pier for 100 baht, as I said.

We went for a swim, sunbathed. By the way, there are quite a few people there. But it’s still calm and good.

Opposite this beach you can see the very Maya Bay

A little spoils the view of a huge number of boats that could be put away. Not far from them there are boat taxi drivers who will take you back to Ton Sai.

Then we changed clothes and got ready to climb the observation deck. This is not an easy path, 2.5 km is almost constantly uphill, but our 5-year-old son did it, I think it's worth it, back from the mountain is much faster =)

Go late in the evening and meet the sunset there, but get ready for a huge number of people. At dawn, there are probably much fewer people. But no one interferes with anyone, everyone is glad that they finally got there, you have an awesome view of the whole island and in the center is the very isthmus, where on one side there is a pier, in the center you walk and eat, and on the other side there is a party beach Lo Dalam .

Above all trees

Here is such happiness in the eyes, real)) My favorite photo

We met the sunset and ran down until it got completely dark. Then we look for Lo Dalam beach. It’s not difficult to look for something on the island, there are signs everywhere. show, you need to buy a cocktail in this bar. Of course you can buy it somewhere else and then stand nearby. But firstly, by the beginning of the show there are already a lot of people and you may not be able to see everything very well, and secondly, the cocktail was very different both in taste and in the state later than we were poured earlier in some shop. It was very tasty and really alcoholic, and not diluted with water and a bunch of ice. I liked the show very much, don’t sit in the front rows, as the Thais periodically throw burning sticks out of their hands, but in fact no one was hurt. And vice versa if you want to become a participant in the show , sit down closer, they take people to them from the crowd. We came to the very first Slinky bar and stayed there, no one was there yet, but we sat further away

Loud music, reckless Thais, a delicious cocktail and the sound of the sea, you can order a hookah, then they will give you a separate table for the company, this is the whole atmosphere of eternal celebration and carelessness, something that we all sometimes lack so much. But it’s really a holiday there every day, young people (a lot of Poles) come and hang out there for weeks. It doesn’t matter at all who you are, what you are and what nationality you are, as my girlfriend put it, who also managed to visit a disco there - all brothers and sisters =)) Of course, we didn’t stay at the disco, although we wanted to. And we didn’t watch the show to the end, and at the end, judging by the video, then the heat began. But we went towards the house, since we are parents)) In the evening, buckets are sold everywhere !! with a cocktail (glasses in the bar)
