MOSCOW, December 31. /TASS/. Urban ground transport, metro and Moskovskoe central ring(MCC) on New Year's Eve will operate around the clock, and electric trains will extend their work until late at night so that Muscovites visiting the capital can leave after the festive fireworks. This was reported to TASS by the Moscow Department of Transport.

Metro and MCC

For the first time in history, the Moscow metro will operate around the clock, with train intervals ranging from 3.5 to 10 minutes. On December 31 at 23:50 Moscow time, a live audio broadcast of New Year's greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin will be organized in subway cars, stations, and escalators. The uninterrupted operation of the metro on New Year's Eve will be ensured by 5,057 employees, 1,137 drivers and 966 transport security workers.

As Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin noted, the opportunity to increase work hours to around the clock on popular days appeared “taking into account the large repair work which were carried out in the metro, replacing rails, improving the operation of energy systems, air intake systems."

MCC trains will also run throughout New Year's Eve. “24-hour work will be organized on New Year’s Eve with 12-minute intervals,” the press service of the Department of Transport told TASS.

Ground transportation

Transport connections between districts, cultural and entertainment sites on New Year's Eve will be provided by 159 routes of the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans. Their routes run in different parts of the city, which will provide transport services to the maximum number of passengers. “This year, an unprecedented decision was made to make the operation of buses, trolleybuses and trams around the clock from December 31 to January 1. After careful analysis, 148 daytime routes were selected, which will operate throughout New Year’s Eve, along with 11 night ones,” said the general director State Unitary Enterprise "Mosgortrans" Evgeny Mikhailov.

For the convenience of passengers on New Year's Eve, routes will operate that provide direct communication between different areas, as well as travel to skating rinks, parks and places of New Year's festivities. “Routes popular among Muscovites will also be included in 24-hour routes. New Year's trams, decorated with LED bulbs. The operation of themed transport on New Year’s Eve will create a festive atmosphere,” added Mikhailov.

He also noted that from January 6 to 7, the schedule of ground urban passenger transport is extended until 03:00 Moscow time.

Electric trains

Moscow electric trains in New Year and Christmas Day will carry passengers until late at night. As TASS was told in the capital's railway department, for the convenience of passengers, the Moscow Railway is assigning additional electric trains, increasing the number of cars in trains, and on the eve of the holiday and on New Year's Eve itself, it is extending the running time of some electric trains.

IN holidays trains will run according to the weekend schedule. So, December 30 - according to the Friday schedule, December 31 and January 7 - according to the Saturday schedule, January 8 - Sunday, January 9 they will follow the Monday schedule. In Moscow transport hub electric trains will depart according to the Saturday schedule from January 1 to January 6; in the regional centers of the Moscow Railway, explanations about the operating procedure are posted at stations and stopping points.

On the night of December 31 to January 1, the travel time of several electric trains was extended so that guests of the capital could leave after the festive fireworks. For example, from the Kazansky station, trains will depart to Shatura at 01:20 Moscow time, and to the square. 47th km - at 01:55 Moscow time.

WITH Kievsky railway station The electric train to Nara will depart at 01:47 Moscow time, from Paveletsky station the electric train will leave for Ozherelye 2 hours 07 minutes later. The metro, MCC and ground urban transport will operate on New Year's Eve in the capital without interruption. This mode of operation will allow millions of Muscovites to celebrate the New Year at the main city venues and participate in all events prepared by the city authorities.

How will the metro and MCC work?

For the first time, the Moscow metro will operate throughout New Year's Eve. From 00:30 to 05:30 in the morning, metro trains will run at intervals of up to 10 minutes. Electric trains will run along the Moscow Central Circle all night at intervals of up to 12 minutes.

Lastochka trains will run at intervals of 6 minutes,” said Head of the Moscow Department of Transport Maxim Liksutov.

How will public transport work?

Throughout New Year's Eve, night and most popular routes of ground urban transport will also operate. Passengers will be transported to metro and MCC stations by 1,500 buses, trolleybuses and trams, which will run along 153 of the most popular routes in the city.

How will the trains work?

On New Year's Eve, the operating time of electric trains will be extended until 03:00. From 1 to 7 January commuter trains will run as scheduled on Saturday. Aeroexpress trains will operate as normal.

How much will parking cost?

Parking in Moscow will become free in new year holidays. From January 1 to January 8 inclusive, the capital’s authorities announced the so-called “parking holidays.” On Saturday, December 31st, parking fees will apply as normal.

Which streets in Moscow will be blocked on New Year's Eve?

Some streets of the capital will be closed due to mass events on New Year's Eve. Temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced mainly in the city center. In particular, because of the mayor's Christmas tree, on December 31, from 9.00 to 16:00, traffic on Ilyinka Street will be limited, and on the night of January 1, due to fireworks, from 23:50 to 00:10 - on Moskvoretskaya Street, Vologodsky Proezd, and Kadyrov Streets and Fedosino.

The metro will operate 24 hours without interruption

Night route of ground transport

As on last New Year's Eve, ground transport - buses, trolleybuses and trams - will run around the city until 3 am. This does not apply to regular night routes, where transport operates according to its regular schedule. The movement will be carried out according to the weekend schedule. This means that the intervals on night routes will increase by 5-10 minutes compared to weekdays, depending on the route. Electric trains will wait for those walking

Residents of the Moscow region will also be able to take a longer walk around the capital on New Year's Eve. Electric trains will depart from Moscow stations later than usual. From Kazansky station the last electric train will leave at 01:55 (47 km to the station), from Kievsky - 01:35 (Nara), from Paveletsky - 01:40 (Ozherelye), from Kursky - 01:40 (Krutoe) and 01:48 (Serpukhov), from Yaroslavsky - 01:50 (Monino), from Belorussky - 01:48 (Kubinka), from Rizhsky - 01:50 (Novoierusalimskaya) and from Savelovsky - 01:50 (Taldom).

MCC will work like a metro

The Moscow Central Circle will operate all night, without interruption. Here Lastochka trains will run at intervals of 12 minutes from 00:30 to 05:50 on January 1.

Public transport will move around all the most popular areas of the city. Those who don’t make it in time have the opportunity to still get there by taxi.

It will be somewhat more difficult to get there by your own transport. The main part of the roads near New Year's entertainment events will be blocked by 90% (as usual), so cars will have to be left far away. Well, to get to the desired street, you will often have to go around restricted areas.
