Inspectors of the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate and the “Administrator of the Moscow Parking Space” will strengthen control over compliance with parking rules. In order not to disturb other motorists or create a danger for pedestrians, drivers will be required to park their cars only in permitted areas.

Traffic will be briefly limited for holiday celebrations

Traffic on central streets will be limited due to mass holiday celebrations. From December 29, closures will be introduced on the outer lanes in both directions on Tverskaya Street (from Okhotny Ryad Street to the intersection of Tverskaya and the Garden Ring). They will also close one lane on Okhotny Ryad from the Moskva Hotel to Teatralny Proezd. And from 00:00 on December 30 to 15:00 on January 3, Tverskaya Street (from Okhotny Ryad to the Garden Ring), as well as Mokhovaya, Okhotny Ryad and Teatralny Proezd will become pedestrian.

Transport security will be strengthened

The work of urban transport will be ensured by more than 92 thousand employees of the Moscow transport complex - services of the Department of Transport, the Moscow Metro, the State Public Institution "Center for Traffic Management", the State Public Institution "Administrator of the Moscow Parking Space". During the holidays, security measures will be strengthened at all transport facilities—the metro, the MCC, bus stops, ground transport, and trains. All rolling stock will be inspected before entering the line. In addition, inspection of baggage and passengers, platforms, stops, lobbies, and under-street passages will be strengthened. The frequency of checks regarding abandoned items and suspicious items in buses, trolleybuses and trams will also be increased.

Metro and MCC

The metro will be open all night from December 31 to January 1. Trains will run at intervals from 3.5 to 15 minutes. By the way, they launched it for the holiday.

The Moscow Central Circle (MCC) will also operate without interruption for the New Year. Travel intervals, like on the metro, will range from 3.5 to 15 minutes. As always, passengers will be able to transfer from the metro to the MCC and vice versa for free within 90 minutes from the moment of their first pass.

In addition, on Christmas Eve - on the night of January 7 - the capital's subway and the MCC will be open for passengers an hour longer - until 2 am.

Ground transportation

On New Year's Eve, all night and most popular ground transport routes will be available to passengers. 59 routes and 11 night buses will operate around the clock, 98 routes will operate until 3:30 am. Buses will run every 25-30 minutes.

In addition, on Christmas night, 163 buses and trolleybuses will transport people until three o'clock in the morning. There will also be 11 night routes.

From December 29 to January 3, the routes of 16 buses will change due to the Journey to Christmas festival: A, M1, M2, M3, M5, M6, M10, M27, No. 15, No. 38, No. 101, No. 144, No. 158, No. 904, N1 and N2.

  • M1 – from Kravchenko Street to the Lenin Library metro station, then along the M27 route to the Pobedy Park metro station;
  • M2 – from the Fili stop to the Lenin Library metro station, then along the M3 bus route to the Luzhniki sports complex;
  • M27 - on the section from the Karacharovsky overpass to the Lubyanka metro station and from the Park Pobedy metro station to the Lenin Library metro station, then along the M1 route to Kravchenko Street;
  • M3 – on the section from the Semenovskaya metro station to the Lubyanka metro station, as well as from the Luzhniki sports complex to the Lenin Library metro station, and then along the M2 route to the Fili stop;
  • A – from Luzhniki to the Kropotkinskaya metro station instead of the Komsomolskaya metro station;
  • No. 15 – when traveling from the southern vestibule of VDNKh, the route will be shortened to Strastnoy Boulevard. At other times it stretches to the Novodevichy Convent;
  • M6 - to the Nagatinskaya metro station will go through Bolshaya Nikitskaya and Mokhovaya streets along Nikitsky Boulevard and Znamenka Street. In the direction of the Silicate Plant, buses from the Lenin Library metro station will travel along Vozdvizhenka and Novy Arbat streets, then along the Garden Ring to Kudrinskaya Square and then on their own route;
  • M10 - instead of the Kitay-Gorod metro station, they will go to the Mayakovskaya metro station;
  • No. 101 – from the Megasport Sports Palace to Tverskaya Zastava;
  • No. 904 – from the 4th microdistrict of Mitino to Tverskaya Zastava;
  • No. 144 – from metro station “ Teply Stan” to the cinema “Udarnik”.
From December 31 to January 3, buses will operate:
  • M5 and No. 158 - to Balchug Street instead of the Lubyanka metro station;
  • No. 38 - from Rizhsky railway station to Trubnaya metro station instead of Kitay-Gorod.
From December 29 to 30 until the night of January 3, night buses will run:
  • H1 – on sections from Ozernaya Street to the Udarnik cinema and from Sheremetyevo Airport to Tverskaya Zastava;
  • H2 - from Belovezhskaya Street to the Lenin Library metro station with a turn through Znamenka and Mokhovaya Vozdvizhenka streets.

Personal cars

On New Year's holidays, some streets in the center of Moscow will be closed to motorists and made pedestrian due to the Journey to Christmas festival. The restrictions will be in effect for five days - from December 30 to January 3. On these days, Tverskaya Street from Mayakovskaya to Okhotny Ryad, Mokhovaya from Vozdvizhenka to Tverskaya and Okhotny Ryad Street will be closed completely.

Also, because of the festival, Petrovskie Lines Street, Rakhmanovsky Lane, Neglinnaya Street, Krapivensky Lane, Ilyinka, Varvarka and Moskvoretskaya streets, Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge and Vasilyevsky Spusk Square will be completely closed.

At the same time, all paid parking will be free for motorists. You will have to pay for your stay only in those places where there are barriers. There are about 80 of them in the city, the cost varies from 50 to 200 rubles per hour or the price of a monthly subscription. However, you should not violate parking rules, since the towing service will not rest on these days.

The traffic schedule will also change during the New Year holidays. commuter trains. The operating hours of commuter trains on New Year's and Christmas Eve will be extended until 2:00 am. Aeroexpress trains will operate as usual.

From December 30 to January 7, commuter trains will follow the Saturday schedule, and January 8 – according to the Sunday schedule. And on January 9, trains will return to their normal workday schedule.

In total, 24 TsPPK trains will be canceled, and 15 electric trains of the company will depart later at night on January 1 and 7. The most changes will occur in the express schedule Yaroslavl direction railway.

For example, daily train No. 6059 Pushkino - Moscow on the night of January 1 will depart 40 minutes later (at 0:27). And train No. 6676 Moscow - Monino on January 1 and 7 - later by 1 hour 40 minutes (at 1:50).
