A team of eighty people, led by director Talgat Batalov, playwright Maxim Kurochkin, artist Olga Nikitina and the author of the idea, Evgeny Kadomsky, was responsible for preparing the recipe for the guests, while St. Petersburg chef Ruslan Zakirov is responsible for the recipe for the cuisine. The Mirror of Carlos Santos restaurant is a place where awareness is served first, new experience second, and catharsis for dessert. The action takes place around the participant, or rather, within his own path to the fulfillment of desires or dreams.
The creators of the project define “Mirror of Carlos Santos” as a restaurant in three acts. Each act is a theatrical performance at the intersection of music, promenade theater and audio performance. At the beginning there is a cleansing, a certain preparatory stage that removes the burden of everyday fatigue and noise from the guests, fills them with new impressions, and covers them with the sauce of an unprecedented experience. The second action is an individual experience alone with one’s desires and in anticipation of the main thing. The third part is the restaurant, where guests, stuffed with new meanings, are ready to meet the food.
Laureates and nominees of the Golden Mask took part in the creation of the project: in addition to director Talgat Batalov and playwright Maxim Kurochkin, production designer Olga Nikitina, choreographer Alexander Andriyashkin, lighting designer Narek Tumanyan, theatrical sound producer Vitaly Aminov. The co-author of the final composition was the singer Manizha, and one of the conductors of the action was Yang Ge, an actress at the Gogol Center and a finalist in the sixth season of the “Voice” project. The author of the project idea and general producer is Evgeniy Kadomsky.
