Pulkovo International Airport terminal 1. Departing from Pulkovo: what you need to know. Transit passage between parking lots

Unified air terminal complex

The main air harbor of the city on the Neva has two base airlines: Transaero and State Transport Company Rossiya, which account for more than 35% of the total passenger traffic of the St. Petersburg aviation hub. In total, about 70 airlines operate regular flights from the northern capital, and the airport’s flight geography extends from Kola Peninsula to India and Africa and from North America to Japan and Southeast Asia.

Pulkovo Airport consists of two air terminal complexes - Pulkovo-1 and Pulkovo-2. The first of them serves all federal flights, non-CIS charters, as well as flights to the CIS countries, and Pulkovo-2 receives passengers from all foreign destinations and is one of the largest international terminals in Russia.

Pulkovo Airport, flight schedule

Pulkovo Airport, new passenger terminal.

The building of the Leningrad air terminal, designed in the mid-70s by the famous architect Alexander Vladimirovich Zhuk, is not only a striking example of the architecture of that time, but also one of the symbols of the city, but has long been out of step with the pace of its development. Terminals built during the times of Brezhnev and Khrushchev constantly cannot keep up with the ever-increasing passenger traffic. Therefore, in the fall of 2010, construction of a new terminal officially began.

On November 24, 2010, at the St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport, with the participation of the heads of government, the first stone of the new terminal was laid. The building of the future airport terminal with an area of more than 100 thousand square meters will increase the maximum throughput air terminal complex up to 13 million passengers per year. In the future, it will be connected to the Pulkovo-1 terminal and will unite domestic and international destinations.

The construction of a new terminal will turn Pulkovo Airport into the largest transport hub, where every second passenger will be a transit passenger. The infrastructure of the new three-story terminal will be supplemented with convenient two-level parking, a comfortable hotel and modern offices, and the Aeroexpress will be able to transport passengers from the airport to the city center in just 15 minutes. This will be one of the most modern and largest airport complexes in Eastern Europe.

Both complexes have all the necessary conditions for the comfort of passengers - comfortable waiting rooms, numerous shopping areas, luxurious business and VIP lounges, a variety of restaurants and cafes, first aid posts, pharmacies, ATMs, post office, currency exchange offices, as well as free zones. wireless access in Internet.

Air travel with children

Please note that when flying with children, you must declare this when booking a ticket, since the cost of air tickets for children is lower than for adult passengers.

As a rule, an adult passenger on a domestic flight (travel within Russia) can take one child under 2 years of age free of charge. This rule applies only if the child is not given a separate seat - he flies in the arms of an adult. If the flight is international, then the discount on a ticket for a child will be up to 90%.

If you are flying with a child under 2 years of age (without the right to a separate seat), you can check in one more piece of luggage weighing up to 10 kg, the maximum sum of three sizes of which is 115 cm, as well as a folded baby stroller.

If the child's age is from 2 to 12 years, then the discount on the air ticket is usually 30-50% (applies only to individual fares) and you can check baggage for him under the same conditions as for an adult passenger.

By the way, you can return a folding stroller right at the boarding ramp before boarding the plane. Upon arrival, right at the gangway, you will receive it back. But you must notify the airport employee about this in advance. This must be done at the check-in counter when checking in the rest of your luggage and the stroller must be checked in in the manner intended for this purpose.

Children's areas

The airport's children's areas are intended for children under 12 years of age. They work both for international passengers with children and domestic flights. For passengers on domestic flights, the children's area is located on the second floor of the South Boarding Gallery. For passengers on international flights, the children's area is located on the 3rd floor in the part of the terminal located behind border control.

Children's areas are equipped with tables for drawing and have a large selection of toys.

Changing rooms and mother and baby room

At Pulkovo Airport, changing rooms are located on all floors of the new terminal. Their exact location can be found on the official Pulkovo website.

For all passengers with children in the new Pulkovo terminal, a mother and child room is available free of charge and around the clock. It is located on the second floor of the terminal. The room is intended for children under 7 years of age. A child can visit it accompanied by one adult. Before visiting the room, you must obtain a medical certificate for the child at the terminal medical center, which is located here on the second floor.

The room consists of several sections:

In this article we will study the Pulkovo air terminal: terminal 1 (new). Most of the airport is located 20 km from the center and one of the runways is located in the Leningrad region (Lomonosov district). The Pulkovo air hub is an international “air harbor” of the federal Russian Northwestern district. This is the only functioning

In 2014, the airfield served 14.3 million people, ranking third among Russian air hubs in terms of the number of travelers transported. For Rossiya Airlines, Pulkovo is the base organization. Until 1973, these “air gates” were called “Road Gates”.

At Pulkovo Airport, customers are served by a new centralized passenger terminal, which began operation in 2013, on December 4. The old building of Pulkovo-1 opened after restoration in 2015. It, together with the new air terminal, became a single whole serving customers on domestic routes. On March 28, 2014, the Pulkovo-2 air hub, which was used for international flights, ceased its operations. Its further fate will be decided by the city administration.

The airport also operates the Pulkovo-3 Business Aviation Center, which provides full complex services and owning all the necessary infrastructure.

This Business Center is located on the territory with total area 100,000 sq. m., on which there is apron No. 6 with a parking lot for 30 places, a hangar for storing airliners, as well as a terminal building for travelers (4000 sq. m.) with a capacity of up to 1,500 clients per day and other infrastructure facilities.

Road to the new terminal

Geographically, in Pulkovo, terminal 1 is located to the right of the old air terminal; getting to it by public transport or by car is the same as before. City bus No. 39 and minibus No. K39 regularly run from the Moskovskaya metro station to the new terminal. Travel on a bus costs 25 rubles, and on a minibus - 35 rubles.

If you are traveling by car, you need to decide on a parking spot in advance. Parking near the facility is prohibited: tow trucks are constantly working here. Only a twenty-minute stop is allowed for boarding and disembarking people. It is known that Pulkovo Airport (terminal 1) has several paid parking lots.

Near the new enterprise, the road diverges to parking lots, to the departure and arrival areas. In front of the terminal building there is an administrative building with offices of some services and airlines, and a hotel under construction Park Inn.

The path of the “departing passenger”

So, you arrived by bus to Pulkovo. Terminal 1 is waiting for you! Upon entering, passengers are directed to the departure area, located on the 3rd floor. Entering the building, clients first find themselves in the first inspection area, equipped with special devices for baggage inspection. After checking in, travelers move to the check-in hall for flights, where an information desk is located in the center. Near it there is a board with route data.

To the left and right of the information desk there are registration stands: here you can check in for your flight and check in your luggage. There are waiting chairs nearby. The baggage packing service (cost - 400 rubles per piece) is located on the right side of the departure hall near the information desks.

Passport control area

Where is the zone passport control to Pulkovo (terminal 1)? It is entered through the central entrance. The new terminal has 110 passport control stands: 50 each for arrival and departure. What should I do if a passenger needs to undergo a passport check, but he sees a queue? He should look around and look for empty shelves with a glowing green light.

After passing the passport inspection, customers move to the pre-flight inspection area - this is the final milestone, after which people tired of formalities can recuperate in a huge store Duty Free, purchasing updates. After going through the store from beginning to end, passengers find themselves in the departure lounge.

Waiting hall

Of course, clients are delighted with Pulkovo-1. The new terminal is impressive with its parameters. Its waiting room is equipped with an information desk and chairs. It contains a Starbucks cafe and shops, a passage to the northern wing (boarding gallery), from where a significant part of the flights depart, and boarding gates (gates 3-4).

The new terminal has increased space compared to the old ones. Therefore, airport workers recommend arriving at the airport in advance: no less than a couple of hours before departure.

To reach the boarding gate, travelers must walk down a long gallery from the lounge. This journey can take a long time, so people need to evaluate their strength in order to catch their flight. The gallery also houses cafes, shops and seats for a comfortable wait for boarding the plane. By the way, on the 4th floor there are restaurants Friday’s, Burger king, “Planet Sushi” and a business lounge.

New terminal

What is Pulkovo-1 air terminal like today? The new terminal serves international flights; travelers can enter and exit only through it. It is here that today all the basic services of the air hub are located; the old terminals have completely ceased to operate. The age-old building of Pulkovo-1, after reconstruction, is used only for domestic flight clients. A business center is planned to be located in the building of the Pulkovo-2 terminal. Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the airport.

The mother and child room is located on the second floor, and changing facilities can be found on each floor. The third and fourth floors are for children. There are areas equipped with drawing tables and toys. Playgrounds are designed for children no older than 12 years.

Luggage storage facilities are located on the ground floor. Here you can pack your luggage and use the storage trolleys for free. In a buiding " air gate» there is an Orthodox chapel, a car rental office, a post office, a lost and found office, communication shops, shops, a 24-hour medical center, bars, cafes and restaurants. In all retail establishments you can pay for goods with bank cards.

Parking

And now we will tell you about the parking lots that are located near Pulkovo (terminal 1). Indoor parking (P1) is located near the new airport terminal (5-7 minutes walk). This is a paid parking lot. There are also a number of paid parking lots: two short-term open parking lots (P2 and P3) (5-8 minutes walk from the airport) and the largest, long-term outdoor parking lot with 1,500 spaces (P4) (10 minutes walk from the airport). A free shuttle runs from parking lot P4 to the terminal every five minutes. The price of parking depends on the zone - 400 rubles per day, 150 rubles per hour. By the way, there is no charge for the initial 20 minutes in parking lots P1-P3.

An unguarded free area with 280 spaces (P7) is located a 10-12 minute walk from the airport, next to the P4 parking lot and the shuttle stop.

On the territory of the airport complex there are 2 lanes located parallel to each other. Airliners can take off and land here regardless of weather conditions. There are 110 places allocated for vessel berthing in the PLC.

In addition to airport buildings and runways, the territory contains:

  • parking
  • hotel
  • domestic shuttle stop
  • public transport stops

There are 4 parking lots at the airport terminal. They are located in front of the main building. Indoor parking P1 is the closest, 1-3 minutes walk. You can leave a car here for a day for 700 rubles.

A little further are short-term P2 and P3. The cost of an hour of parking there is estimated at 150 rubles. The walk to the terminal takes on average 4-6 minutes. The farthest one - long-term P4 - is a 10-minute walk away. The price for parking in the parking lot is 450 rubles per day or 2000 per week.

There is only one hotel on the territory of the air complex - Park Inn. Located to the right of parking lot P1, parallel to the building. You can reach the hotel on foot in a couple of minutes. To do this, you need to leave the airport in the arrivals hall on level 1 and cross the road.

To the left of the main entrance there is. For cars connected to the airport, the tariff is reasonable and depends on the area of the city to which you need to go. The most expensive way to get to Vyborgsky is to ask for 1300-1500 rubles. But third-party taxi drivers often inflate the price, especially if the passenger is not local and does not understand prices.

To the right of the entrance is equipped. Buses No. 39 and No. 39e, as well as minibuses K39 depart from here. Everyone is moving to the Moskovskaya metro station. The journey takes from 15 to 35 minutes, the fare is 40 rubles. At night public transport does not go, last flight at 1:30.

10 facts from the history of Pulkovo

The history of LED began back in 1932, and during this time the “biography” of the aerocomplex has acquired dozens of interesting facts. Here are just a small part of them - about the origin of the name, the architect’s ideas and the role of the air harbor in culture.

  1. Initially, the complex was named after the railway platform - Shosseynaya airfield. The modern name, which came from Pulkovo Heights, was first announced to passengers in 1973.
  2. In 1941, the PLC, which found itself on the front line, was closed. It was possible to fully resume its work only after 8 years.
  3. Pulkovo received an international three-letter code, traditionally similar to the name of a locality or airport, during the existence of Leningrad. On tickets it is still designated as LED.
  4. There have been 7 disasters in the history of the air gate. The last one happened in 1991. Then the unsuccessful landing of the airliner claimed the lives of 13 passengers on the Sukhumi-Leningrad flight and 2 PLC employees.
  5. The “glasses” of the old building not only form the appearance of the airport terminal, but also perform an important function – they allow natural light into the building. There is a legend among the people that the architect came up with them during a feast. Then, allegedly, someone put an inverted faceted glass on the table - and then 5 of the same ones appeared on the roof of the airport.
  6. Pulkovo has a carefully thought-out security system, tested by three hundred volunteers. Test participants were given suitcases, some of which contained fake bombs, people were sent to mingle with real passengers, and airport services were alerted to searches. All potential violators were then detained, and the explosive devices were neutralized.
  7. PLC has the lowest unshipped baggage rate in Europe. For every one bag left behind, approximately 1,000 have flown to their destination.
  8. In 2016, The Telegraph included the terminal among the ten most beautiful terminals in the world. And in 2012, the only one in Russia, it entered the top 100 innovative projects according to KPMG.
  9. Not only numerous catering establishments, but also art objects allow you to pass the time in the terminal. On the territory there are sculptures of Peter I, angels with airplane wings, and the installation “The ABC of St. Petersburg” is open.
  10. LED “played” a role in “The Irony of Fate.” It is here that Lukashin's adventures in Leningrad begin.

On the territory of Pulkovo there is almost everything a traveler might need: a cafe for every budget, free Wi-Fi, places to relax and recharge equipment. The airport is a well-thought-out modern complex, with clear and simple navigation. Getting confused in the halls and corridors is not easy even for those arriving at LED for the first time, and if this happens, the airport terminal staff will always help solve the problem.
