Hello. I would like to give some tips on visiting Primorye as a vacationer. And in particular, I’ll tell you about Nakhodka and the Otrada Bay recreation center. First of all, you need to decide on the price category. If you are traveling by plane from afar, the option of a room with all amenities is suitable because... you don’t need to cook and take extra things on your trip, such as a barbecue, beach chairs, a lot of mosquito and midge repellent, etc. Overall here budget holiday It won’t work out because the price and service are incomparable.

If you are traveling by car, this is a more economical option, suitable for “our” ordinary tourist, but also more troublesome. You can rent a house with or without amenities, as well as with meals in the dining room. My wife and I chose a house with amenities without meals and were quite satisfied - breakfast and dinner in the fresh air with birds singing, the radio playing quietly, the coals sizzling in the grill, onto which fat from the meat drips, my wife is cutting salad.

In general, it’s beautiful, unless, of course, you don’t mind feeding the mosquitoes a little (in this case, there are wonderful autonomous fumigators on gas canisters, they are great for protecting against mosquitoes and partially against midges). If you go in June or August-September, be sure to take a small wind-type heater with you to keep the cabin cool. What’s also convenient is that you have a car nearby and can go into town to buy groceries or just take a walk at any time.

Where is Otrada Bay located?

The base is located away from the city, so it seems that you are in the remote taiga. There are few attractions in the city itself, but they are there. I was pleasantly pleased with the prices for everything (both food and things), of course, compared to other cities in the region.

The beach of Otrada Bay is generally good, clean, and there are not many people, at least at the end of August. There is no strong wind, the bay is closed. We were a little confused by the algae that grows in 1/3 of the bay. The beach has changing cabins, a toilet and a paid shower. From the house where we lived to the beach it was a five-minute walk.

The beach is small pebbles. There are shops with mushrooms. There is a small cafe and a volleyball court. Lifeguards are almost constantly on duty on the beach; they also protect order and equipment. There is a boat station. During the hot season there is a rental of jet skis.

On the downside, there are trash cans on the beach, which is certainly good, but bees and horseflies constantly fly near them, which cause some discomfort to vacationers. We’ve been to a couple of other city beaches - there are a lot of people there, not very clean... not that good at all. Otrada Bay in Nakhodka is considered one of the quietest and clean places, since it is away from the city and the area is fenced off from cars, travel by car is paid. But the parking lot is a five-minute walk from the beach, which does not cause any big problems.
