It was the first time in Mexico, after a vacation, I can immediately say that if I go again, it will most likely be a hotel in Cancun itself and most likely only for breakfast. Because sitting only in a hotel, except for the sea, is no different from Turkey, except in Turkeymore fun... We took a taxi to Playa del Carmen, of course the hotel is a bit far from interesting places, don't run over. In general, you can escape either by excursions or by going out on your own, but then you don’t have to go that far. Check-in: I've never seen anything like this. We had individual transfer, we arrived, there was no one there, we filled out everything, put on the bracelets and told us to come at 3 o’clock, not earlier, well, that’s understandable, ok. Then we passed by the reception and horror, huge queue and all to one person, for a family for 15-20 minutes, just trash. Then we saw this more than once, it was a very long wait, why they wouldn’t allocate additional people during a mass arrival is not clear, well, I really haven’t seen this anywhere. Everyone is tired, children... There are not enough places at the large reception, they sit on the steps. We were lucky that they didn’t stand like that... Then at 3 o’clock I come up, there’s no need to stand anymore, I ask if the room is ready, with gestures they send a table to the right of the reception and there is an attraction of unprecedented generosity, the whole crowd of visitors surrounded this table and the girl takes cards and shouts out first and last name, it’s like bingo, Russian surnames are difficult for them, plus the crush, noise, I didn’t even hear myself, we’re waiting for them to go around in a circle again. Then we pushed around, looking for which car would take us, because even though the building is not far, we have to move the suitcases along paving stones, the pleasure is not pleasant, you will be left without wheels. In the end, we got there in a car that goes to Akumal, and they dropped us off along the way... BUT none of the cards opened the door, so we had to go to the reception again. The friendliness of the staff smooths everything out, they try, but apparently they can’t do it any other way. Rooms: all the same, only two categories and not much different, we lived in villa 6, on the 1st floor, there was no smell of dampness, but perhaps because the air conditioning was not turned off at all. The mattresses are comfortable, the sheets are not elastic, and therefore in the middle of the night you are already sleeping on the mattress... Well, if anyone tosses around at night. The bathtub is on the verge of being repaired, but everything works, they kept adding towels, they didn’t take away the old ones, and as a result, about 30 of them accumulated... But it’s better than nothing. The main point is the sockets, or rather their absence next to the bedside tables. The socket was where you put your suitcase on the shelf and behind the cabinet where you plug the kettle in. It’s not convenient at all, you had to get up at night to put the phone on, you generally won’t fall asleep with the phone on, otherwise in the morning there will be a fight for the charging wire.. Everyone has already written about the safe, you only carry the key with you, the hardware itself remains in the safe, losing 40 dollars. Food: sometimes it’s good, but sometimes it’s sad, but yes, you won’t go hungry. But I couldn’t help but compare it with the Dominican Republic, maybe the hotel there was better...I probably liked it a few times and that’s all. The service is strange, at breakfast there are a lot of staff, at lunch there are fewer, and at dinner there are not many at all, maybe they are taken into alacarte, in general, only tips solved the problem, they then remember who gives, and approach him themselves, without looking for the waiter. Men with open arms are not allowed to dinner, only a T-shirt, shirt, etc. I saw how a man in a T-shirt was not allowed in on crutches. For lunch, breakfast, it doesn’t matter what.. There are no fresh drinks, there are very diluted and very sweet ones, they stand on ice in jugs. Of course, there was not enough good juice for breakfast. The cocktails in the bars are delicious. The show is a separate song, well, it’s completely melancholy, and it’s also repeated. Then live music and at 23.00 lights out, everything is turned off, the bar is closed. Time to sleep... Swimming pools: it’s immediately clear that the hotel has been built a long time ago, since there are absolutely no corners in the shade, just a big hot puddle, in more modern hotels they pay attention to this , some landscape buildings, trees. It is absolutely impossible to be in such sun... The sunbeds are all occupied, and it is precisely these characters who do not spend the whole day there, unlike their towels, that the umbrellas do not move and therefore there are also problems with the shadow. Sea: I read the reviews and thought that everything was not so scary, no, it was scary. You can go into the sea in several places, the best thing is the beach where the residents of Koba are taken, next to water activities, you can go there, although there are stones there, you have to be careful, it’s chest-deep, so we sat there... On the beach where 18+ is better, but don’t children need nice beach? in other places there are stones, I would even say rocks, you will break your legs. If the hotel had cleared everything out, it would have been a completely different situation. By 10 the sunbeds are already occupied, I keep scattering along the beach, but it turns out that the sunbed and the entrance to the sea are far from each other. Algae is constantly cleaned both in the sea with nets and on the shore, it was clean, pontoons save it. The conclusion is that sitting in a hotel is boring, moving around it is not always comfortable, there are few areas in the shade, and, in general, cozy corners. It’s doubtful to fly 12 hours for this, if it weren’t for business class, I don’t know at all how I would have flown back... Probably this particular hotel let me down, but it’s my own fault, I need to study it more carefully.

We vacation in hotels of this chain all the time. Last year we took a koba, but it is on the second line and this year the price for them was almost the same, so we decided to settle closer to the sea. I didn’t write a review about Koba, but the hotels are almost the same. A huge plus of the hotel is thatyou live like in the jungle. There are places that are almost untouched and there are a lot of different living creatures. These are mainly raccoons, noses, and iguanas. Moreover, the animals, one might say, are tame and are not afraid of people. Despite the fact that the territory is large, getting to any point is not a problem. There are comfortable cars along the routes; you don’t have to wait long. The highlight of the holiday in this complex is the presence of a dolphinarium where you can not only watch the performance of dolphins but also swim with them. The show itself is free, but swimming with dolphins comes at an additional cost. But the delight of it is worth paying for. The only serious complaint about the hotel is its beach. There are stones when entering the water and few people will like it, but we knew about the beach from the last time, so I don’t consider it a minus for myself. The main thing is that there is a lot of space, no one bothers each other and there are a lot of sunbeds so as not to take up. And there are not very many waves because there are breakwaters from the waves. And there is a bar on the beach where you can eat without having to run to the hotel. This is generally not a problem, but still) The food is of the same level as in Koba, and here we were also satisfied with everything. In general, what is there compared to other hotels of the same price, the food is very good) As for alcohol, everything is ok too. This year we weren’t particularly interested in what kind of animation there would be, we just wanted the beach and warmth and even going on excursions. Last year we found a wonderful guide, his name is Yuri Shchepkin, he is our compatriot. Accordingly, he speaks Russian. Conducting and organizing excursions upper class! And cheaper than renting at a hotel. You can find him through the social network VKontakte by name. Well, I’ll finish by also praising the numbers. Well, more precisely ours) Everything is in very good condition, everything you need is there, the only thing is that there is a separate fee for the Internet, however, as in the previous hotel of this chain. But overall I liked this hotel better!

The hotel corresponds to the level of the Grand Bahia chain. We knew where we were going. The beaches in Yucatan cannot be compared to Varadero. Therefore, if you want a more normal entrance, then this is the left border of the hotel, if you look at the sea. The road from the airport was long, so we took a taxi back. INPeople flew to Mexico mainly to immerse themselves in the local flavor. Almost every day we went on excursions through a local operator. As for the hotel, the service is at the level (Mexicans are lazy by nature), and the food is too. Many animals run around the area. The vacationers are mainly Americans, Canadians, French and Argentines. I will come to this hotel again - more likely no than yes.

Good morning! After long flight Samara-Moscow (7 hour wait for the plane at Moscow airport), then Moscow-Cancun, we landed 🛬, Mexico greeted us 🇲🇽 with rain and it was wonderful! The drive from the Airport to the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum Hotel was about 2hours. Last year, I was in the Dominican Republic in this hotel chain, I really liked the rooms, so this year I chose this chain. Hotel 🏨 5 stars, right!? I go into the room... oopsss... there are no slippers and robe 😳 I go up to the reception asking for help in this situation, to which they threw up their hands and said that they could not help. Overall the hotel is not bad, Service is a 3 because... I had to do self-service, the food 🍽 in Mexico is 5 more varied, unfortunately the animation is 3, somehow it didn’t catch my attention... The territory is well-groomed, the restaurants are a la carte, visually similar to one another, but they cook 👍🏼😋, just super, I really liked it!!! There are very few Russians in the hotel, mainly America, Argentina, France... I would like to note the disgusting work Anextour tour Alexey at the hotel. Sold the Excursions and goodbye... Sent me to Selvatica Park without warning who would take me back, at what time, that cola there costs 4 dollars and you need to take something to eat with you, etc., that this Excursion is located 3 hours from the hotel, maybe there was no point in going, because... in the Dominican Republic, I was in the same park and told him about it several times.... The caring attitude at the Anextour hotel, but the guys who led the excursions are beyond praise👍🏼 They always went to meet, waited for tourists when they could not tear themselves away from supermarket, afraid not to buy tequila as a gift. Well done!!! Mexico 🌊🌴🇲🇽, thanks for unforgettable vacation, for emotions and care for us, Russian tourists!👍🏼❤️

I liked the hotel in every way. We were put in a good room, there were three of us. We were given a room with three huge beds, the buildings are arranged so that when you go out onto the balcony you don’t look into windows of the neighboring building. The guy who cleaned our room surprised us every day with his crafts from towels, we were impatiently waiting for his new works, smart guy, we gladly left him a dollar, and the guy always put extra towels and a bunch of shampoos and gels for us and body creams. The territory is very large, we could easily visit and use the restaurants of two more hotels of this chain, trains run between the hotels and it is written on them which hotel they are going to, don’t be shy and stop. The good-natured driver will always answer you where he is going, and near the reception, when they arrive, the drivers say where the train will go. There are a lot of different animals on the hotel grounds, when we went out onto the balcony, every day funny agoutis ran and played in the clearing, raccoons and nooses often came to the restaurant, which we could feed from hand, and in the night cafe there are always beggarly raccoons on duty, I fed them with great pleasure))) There are almost always pelicans on the beach and pink flamingos flying by. There are a lot of monitor lizards, they just bask in the sun everywhere. The sea and the beach are beautiful, because the sea is mostly with waves, then the breakwaters make it possible to swim calmly, but if you are too shallow, then go behind the breakwaters and swim there. We also went to a beautiful lagoon, it is to the right of Tulum, but it takes about 20 minutes to walk, walk the entire beach and then along stones and around the bend there is a beautiful lagoon, where there are no waves and wild beach, you swim for your own pleasure without breakwaters, you can also go to the left of the hotel, there in front of the villas you can also swim without breakwaters and jump on the waves. About the weather, I can say that it is very changeable, there may be clouds for half a day, and then clear sky and bright sun, it can also start to rain and get cold, and in the morning again clear sky, there was always wind, but nothing marred our vacation, such a bright and beautiful country. Every other day we went on excursions, I found a travel agency at home and, having compared prices from Coral, who met us, I took from those who I found that you can go to Playa del Carmen and there are many travel agencies there, their prices are even lower, but the groups will hardly be Russian, but we still decided to go with our own and there were mini groups, not a huge bus. We visited Chichen Itza, Coba , Tulum and swam in the cenotes, of course you can go to Tulum on your own, but it was more convenient for us with an excursion and we immediately visited Coba. We spent the whole day in Xcaret Park. The park itself didn’t make much of an impression, but the evening performance eclipsed everything, it was amazing. ...I highly advise you not to waste money and visit the Coco Bongo disco, you can book tickets at the hotel, but we took them from those who also gave excursions. The disco is just a delight and a charge of positivity, we took VIP seats, they cost 135 dollars ., you can sit and watch the show program from the third or second floor and you can also dance there, drinks are always included in the price. If you take a simple ticket, you will be downstairs with the whole crowd, and frankly speaking, there are a lot of people downstairs, like herrings in a jar and there are no places to sit there. In Playa Del Carmen, you can calmly drive on your own, go out onto the road and the minibuses stop themselves, they cost 3.5 dollars. one way, it’s more convenient to pay in pesso, get off at the terminus and ask how to get to 5th Avenue, it’s nearby and you’ll end up on a street with shops and cafes, half a day wasn’t enough for us to see everything and we came several times. The souvenirs are all very colorful and bright, can be purchased at Chichen Itze, there are a lot of them and you can bargain, otherwise you can bargain everywhere, in Playa del Carmen there are even more of them and basically we bought everything there, there is also a Hacienda near the hotel, there is a bazaar and go into its territory and there are many shops and cafes there, but in Hacienda the prices are more expensive, and in the bazaar near it you can bargain well. The food at the hotel is good, we were satisfied, there is champagne in the morning, you can go and pour as much as you want, and then take it and all other drinks in the hotel bars, there is also tequila all the time, 6 types, come and pour it, ice cream every day different types, rolls, sushi, every evening, but they are not very tasty., A lot of things are designed for Americans, there are always hamburgers, assemble it yourself and make what you want)) There is a children's table in the restaurant, for kids you will find normal food, they also make mashed potatoes. In general We were satisfied with both Mexico and the hotel, I can recommend this hotel to everyone.

Good afternoon

A little.
Good afternoon
We just arrived from Mexico yesterday.
I want to say a few words about choosing a tour operator. If you have a choice, do not fly with Pegasus (Redwinds is their airline). The conditions are bad, the seats are very small, the water ran out in the toilets, there was practically no food when we flew from MSC).
When I bought the tour package, I didn't know all this.
The second point that I did not find in the reviews is the difference between standard accommodation and Hasienda.
Advantages:
1. an area where buses rarely travel (towards the end of the holiday they begin to get bored)
2. next to a good beach - no breakwaters, you can swim. The downside for children is the waves.
3. Your own swimming pool and restaurant, where only those living in the hacienda can go for breakfast and lunch.
I'll start in order. BEACH:
The best one is in the hacienda area, go left along the beach, the very last one. There are no breakwaters, but waves. You can't swim with small children.
Since the hotel area is very large and the length of the beach is about a kilometer (the swimming area is three times smaller due to the stones), on the third day it becomes annoying to run to take sunbeds at the other end of the beach (for example, if you are accommodated in 28,29 well).
There are a LOT of people, the sun loungers are already occupied at 7.30 on the beach. Especially on the beach next to the hacienda. This surprised me, because... Last time I went to Cuba and did not encounter such a problem there.
Also, in addition to the hacienda, there is a nice beach at the other end of the hotel (not Tulum, but the entire complex). Walk from Tulum for about 20 minutes along the coast.
There is a small area fenced off where you can swim and there are few people. Ideal for people with children.
I won’t repeat myself about the wild beach - good place. Wear comfortable shoes, because... walk on the stones. The view is good, there are no waves and it’s clean. We went once, the photos turned out beautiful.
My personal advice if you want to swim and enjoy Caribbean Sea, choose another hotel. On excursions, we talked with people from other hotels, so their beach is quiet and smooth. I didn’t like the beach, I expected something else.
Accommodation.
We were first placed in villa 28. We decided to take a look first. Everything worked out fine. It’s a bit far from the lobby, which is for the best - you can shake up the inclusiveness.
Let's go. The room is very ordinary without any frills. I'm not picky at all, it seems clean. Kind of more or less. Left. We lived in it for a week and then couldn’t stand it anymore.
or changed it. It turned out that this villa is located next to the road along which trailers travel. They rumble day and night. Far from everything. It takes 15-20 minutes to get to the beach (this is the one next to the hacienda). As in previous reviews they wrote - we paid the money and we have another room in Villa 22. It is next to the sea and the pool, with a sea view. The room is much better - an additional sofa, hydromassage (although I didn’t need it, but still), good plumbing. In general, the room is newer and better. The room level is the same. Ask for the third floor!!!
The mattresses deserve special attention - they are very soft and uncomfortable to sleep on. And it's hot from them.
If we talk about the hotel complex as a whole, then Tulum is the calmest, with the least number of Russians. I liked Koba better. It seemed that the animation there was better, livelier and more youthful. All living creatures also live in Kobe - there are a lot of noses. In Tulumi, we occasionally saw raccoons at night near the restaurant.
NUTRITION:
The choice is large: chicken and fish - white and salmon.
I was most interested in whether there would be seafood.
In 14 days - once there were shrimps, twice there were mussels. sometimes octopuses (also twice). There was always fish.
It was cheese day, and they were giving out very tasty ones. I liked the ribs too.
A few words about ala carte restaurants.
We visited only 3 - Brazilian in Tulum, sea in Kobe and Japanese in Kobe. I really liked the Japanese one. 12 of us were seated at the table and the cook prepared everything for us.
I wasn't impressed with the seafood one at all - I just liked the scallops. It seemed that it was the same as in a general restaurant. Mexican is also okay. They serve different meats. For lovers of mild roasting, go there!
As for sweets, the choice is very small, practically none.
Fruits - orange and green melon, tasteless pineapple, watermelon and papaya.
ANIMATION:
I practically didn’t see her; during the day she was only in the pool; on the beach she was completely relaxed. In the evening there is a show at 9 o'clock, along with music in the bar. And at 10.30 at the hacienda (next to the mini market, there are trailers going there) Latin dances. Afterwards there is a disco at 11.30.
Rate entertainment program I can’t, because I only listened to Latin and sometimes listened to music in the bar. In general it's ok!
SERVICE:
Leaves much to be desired. The idea is that slippers and bathrobes should be provided. Our Russians knocked them out with a fight. We didn't even get in touch.
There should have been umbrellas too; we (many Russians) didn’t have them. The impression was that Russians were treated poorly. Although I always have a very loyal and maximally positive attitude towards everything, I also saw this.
In a general restaurant you can’t pour your own coffee. So you sit and wait for 10 minutes for them to bring it to you! And what you tip, what you don’t, one result.
I also had a birthday during the trip. We warned the reception desk, including the Russian-speaking employee, but there was no congratulations at all.
And we talked with Russians living in Canada, their room was beautifully decorated with rose petals, and they were given a big cake.
These small details spoiled the impression of the holiday.
What to see and how.
When I was traveling, I didn’t have time to prepare for the trip and had to decide everything on the spot, i.e. choice of excursions and what you can see for yourself.
There is an excellent form of collective transport (minibus) that runs along the highway right next to the hotel. Exit - to the right direction is Playa del Carmen, and to the left is Tulum. We used this type of transport.
Be sure to go to Akumal beach yourself, swimming with turtles (travel agencies offer excursions for about 90 dollars). Go out, catch it or she will stop collectively, it’s a 5 minute drive towards Playa del Carmen, it costs 20 pesos per person or 2 dollars. The stop is called Akumal. There will be a lot of tourists there and you walk with them for about 100 meters. Remember, go to the DIVING SHOP. There is a passage through it to the beach. Our friends did not turn on time and walked a long way to the paid beach. If you have a mask, then just go into the sea and swim!)) We didn’t have one and we rented it - 144 pesos for a mask with a vest (you must take it), 60 pesos for a storage locker. The rate at the hotel is 11.50 pesos for 1 dollar. In playa 12.5.
We rented a car for one day: 90 dollars. on the machine. We went to Chichen Itza ourselves, Valladolid. Advice: it’s better to go there with a tour. Because It’s not interesting to look at piles of stones yourself. And the town is good.
Don’t be afraid to take a car, everything is very simple and easy to navigate. We had Russian licenses.
Take Pegasus on an excursion to Cancun once. It was a bad rainy day and with nothing else to do we rushed. They spat on it. We drove a distance of 100 km for about 5 hours. So far they've collected it from all the hotels, it's terrible.
Be sure to visit the restaurant in Cancun, where they joke with visitors. He was filmed in the program Heads and Tails. Worth it)))
Shcaret Park.
A very beautiful place. We went there ourselves on a collective trip towards the playa for about 25 minutes, and then from the road is coming free bus. If entry after 3 o'clock costs $75. The price includes a two-hour show, starting at 6. Decide for yourself whether to go with a tour or on your own.
Tulum and Coba.
I decided to go on this excursion with a guide. But not through Pegasus, but on the recommendation of a travel agency that arranges excursions on minibuses with a group of about 12 people for quite reasonable money, 30-40% cheaper. Cost 90 dollars. If anyone is interested, write me and I’ll tell you the name. Very convenient, no prepayment needed. You pay as you go.
Coco bongo.
Disco show. Beautiful, somewhat similar to Circus di Soleil. But there are a lot of people. Only young people can withstand it. The crowd is packed, it’s impossible to squeeze through. We were lucky, we were on the 3rd floor, there were fewer people and we could see clearly. 65 dollars
Basically everything. I hope my review will help you make the right choice and find your way around Mexico a little!
