What else to see:

Imagine a Las Vegas neighborhood that flows from city to city. Imagine a ship for 7,500 people, of which 2,500 are employees and staff. Add to them an ice skating rink, volleyball and basketball courts, a golf course, a bowling alley, climbing walls, a fitness center, a spa, and infinity pools and you get the largest cruise ship in the world - Allure of the Seas.

A cruise ship is, in fact, several enterprises independent from each other. One team deals with navigation, another with hotels and accommodations, a third feeds thousands of people every day, a fourth arranges and conducts entertainment, and so on. The life activity of such a sea monster is very complex and interesting. This is what I want to talk about in today's post...

This was my 15th or 16th cruise. I remember that even on large ships I sometimes got seasick. Here there is no feeling at all that you are on the open sea. The colossus is so huge that no rocking is felt at all. We were sailing into a force 6 storm, the waves were 4.2 meters high. The ship was motionless, like an Egyptian pyramid:

3.

There are original diagrams and signs on each floor and in each lobby. All that is highlighted in white is the hotel, purple areas are public:

4.

Upper deck:

5.

Public places so many. It’s impossible to get around everything at once:

6.

The liner consists of two parallel houses connected by jumpers - in front and behind. Between them is an empty space with a green area. On the roofs of the “houses” there are swimming pools and sun loungers:

7.

There are a lot of pools, for every taste and color. There are adults, children, with slides, fountains, jacuzzi, etc.:

8.

Mini golf:

Basketball and volleyball court:

10.

There are several areas with ping pong tables:

11.

Zip Line - a high-speed descent along a cable from one side of the ship to the other:

12.

There are two "waves" you can surf. One for beginners, the other for more or less advanced:

13.

14.

On the upper deck there are “wings” that protrude from the hull of the liner to the sides. There are 2 large Jacuzzis in the wings. You lie in warm water 18 floors above the sea and look at the waves below you. Very cool:

15.

The bow of the ship. Several decks are dedicated to public areas. The design of the canopies is such that it provides maximum protection from the wind, while maintaining a feeling of open space:

16.

There are three pools at the bow of the ship:

18.

Now let's see what is between the "houses" of this liner. At the stern there is a carousel, a bar, a park, and a cinema in the distance:

19.

In the evening, acrobats from shows like Cirque Du Soleil perform in the cinema. Very cool. I thought about going in and taking a couple of photos for the report, but I sat there with my mouth open until the end of the show:

20.

On the other side, Central Park is an open space with trees and plants on the 8th floor:

21.

The green zone is divided by a jumper into two sections:

22.

Let's go down to the 8th floor:

23.

Glass roofs are provided for the walking area, which is located three floors below. There are streets here, birds are singing - you have the complete feeling that you are walking in the city:

24.

This area is home to renowned international restaurants and shops. We will return to them in the next post:

The stern of the ship. There are two walls for climbing. Climbing, Karl!

The deck at fifth floor level opens to the lifeboats. It runs throughout the entire ship, and people are brought here in emergency situations. To ensure that the space does not go to waste, it is used as a treadmill. Passengers often do this large ships, but only here there are specially marked paths for running and walking. Even the direction was agreed upon so as not to collide with each other. Full circle 700 meters:

29.

The bow of the ship is occupied helipad, passengers are not allowed there. You won't be able to act out a scene from Titanic:

Fifth floor under Central Park. Shops, bars with karaoke, even Starbucks:

31.

A rare car to add chic and luxury to your space:

32.

The fourth floor is a casino and nightclubs. Gambling establishments open only when the liner leaves the territorial waters of a particular state. Doesn't work in the port:

33.

Central hall for shows and concerts:

34.

There is no excursion to the captain's bridge, but I was lucky to sail with a group of Spanish journalists. Their visit was agreed upon and I managed to get involved with this company. The captain's bridge looks a bit empty. A huge area, but the controls occupy only a small area in the center:

35.

The ship is steered not by the captain, but by the first officer. He gave us a tour. The officer's name is Gennady. He is from Odessa. Our boy.

The ship has no steering wheel. The three engine propellers rotate 360 degrees and are adjusted either manually using three rotators (in the foreground of the photo) or using a computer. The system monitors the course and steers:

The command headquarters is located nearby and can be separated from the captain's cabin by a partition. All aircraft controls are duplicated here:

41.

When the ship is moored in port, the officer uses the left and right "wing" exits:

42.

There is also a control system here:

43.

From here you can clearly see the side of the aircraft and this allows you to “park” without incident:

44.

In 2016, Norwegian Epic received an award as one of the ships with the best entertainment on board. At the local theater, vacationers can watch Broadway shows like “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.” Tourists craving some coolness in warm waters around the Bahamas, can descend into an ice bar where the temperature is maintained at -8°C.

Freedom of the Seas

Like most of the ships we list, Freedom of the Seas was the largest cruise ship in service when it was introduced in 2007. For a long time the ship was based in Florida, but it recently changed its home port to Puerto Rico and now operates seven-night cruises in the Southern Caribbean.

Freedom of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's Freedom class and can accommodate 4,370 people. Passengers can take part in FreedomFest, during which they will learn about all the entertainment offered on the ship, including an ice skating rink, a climbing wall, a water park and floating pools located on special structures outside the ship.

Independence of the Seas

Before the introduction of the Oasis class, the ships of Royal Caribbean's Freedom family held the title of the largest cruise ships. The Independence of the Seas, the last on our list, was commissioned in 2008 and can accommodate up to 4,356 passengers in 1,815 cabins on 15 decks. With a length of 339 meters, its carrying capacity is slightly higher than that of its classmates - 160,000 register tons.

IN winter time Independence of the Seas operates cruises from Port Everglades, Florida, and in the summer the ship operates in the Southampton area. Among the entertainment available to vacationers are a theater with 1,200 seats, shopping promenades with shops and bars, an ice track, various sports grounds, a climbing wall, swimming pools and much more.
