The New Year is coming, which means it’s time to think about where to go to make the holiday truly unforgettable and incomparable. Agree, probably everyone dreams of relaxing so that they can brag to all their family and friends. Ski tours for the New Year 2017-2018 are exactly what you need for New Year holidays so that the holiday is full of the most diverse and vivid impressions. At the same time, most of the listed places are happy to welcome guests and tourists in absolutely any season. When choosing the right place for a ski holiday, first of all, you must be guided by the geographical location of your destination. Among all the variety of snow-covered resorts, it is perhaps worth noting and naming the following.

These are the CIS countries, Austria, Norway, Italy, Finland, and this list can be continued for a long time.

But let's take a closer look at some of them.

The most popular places, their prices.

  • Firstly, Finland. This resort occupies a leading place among all others, especially when it comes to the city of Kuopio, located in its eastern part. This city has 97 thousand inhabitants, and most of it is located on a peninsula. Kuopio is ski center Finland, which annually attracts a large number of tourists and guests from all over the world.
  • Secondly, Russia. Among all the variety of resorts, it is worth noting and naming Edelweiss, which is located between Russia and the Caucasus, and is also the highest ski center in Eurasia. Although it is worth noting that this place is only slightly inferior to the resort located in Venezuela “Meride”, and this difference is completely insignificant. By the way, for information, it can be noted that “Elbrus-Benegi” is a double recreation area, which in turn has a number of advantages and disadvantages. This opportunity will come down from largest mountain Europe, whose height is up to 4,164 m, and the availability of excellent training for climbers in the snow-covered valley of the Bezengi River, because this place is one of the leading sites for tourists. Today, many cable cars equipped with an elevator have been installed on Elbrus. It is also worth noting the large number of mineral springs, the list of which includes Narzan, which will be a good addition to your vacation.
  • Thirdly, Italy. Here it is definitely worth noting and highlighting such a tourist town as Bormio, which is located in the central part of the Alps. This region boasts of its excellent green spaces, which do not interfere with the excellent and fairly high-speed descent. Regarding the slopes, it should be noted that there are slopes intended for inexperienced and novice skiers, as well as for professionals. By the way, experts and specialists strongly recommend descending into the city using a lift, due to the impassability of some sections of the route. It is worth noting the excellent quality of the snow cover.
  • Fourthly, Andorra, or more precisely, La Vela, which is one of the popular and large resort principalities located in the capital. This area is famous for its 2.5 m high mountains, as well as its mild climate and warm wind, which gives a feeling of comfort and weightlessness. But, despite the existing developed and modern infrastructure, the city is relatively ancient, so it has a wide variety of attractions. This and medieval castles, churches. Cobbled streets, resulting in an atmosphere and spirit of a romantic setting.
  • Fifthly, the Caucasus. Here, of course, the leading position is occupied by Dombay, which is located at an altitude of 1,600 m relative to sea level. But this is not its main feature and attractiveness. After all, the resort itself is located in the vicinity of such famous peaks as Dombay-Ulgen, Ine Peak, Sofrudzhu, Achitara, Amanauz. The length itself tourist route is about 20 km, and each tourist will be able to choose the route that suits him most in accordance with his skills.
  • Sixthly, Turkey, or more precisely the resort of Erciyes, which is rightfully considered the same name and the leader of tourism sports in this country. Here, first of all, it is worth noting the continental climate, which is due to the length of the winter period up to 150 days a year. Of course, the most optimal period and time for rest is from mid-November to April. Why? It’s simple, because at this time the snow cover is quite high, and its thickness is no more than 2 m.
  • Seventh, Austria. The most popular town can rightfully be called Gatlyur, located surrounded by mountain range Silvretta and the Paznaintal valleys. Among big list advantages and attractions, it is worth noting the route, which is illuminated even at night. If you prefer a classic type of descent, then there are 4 areas of virgin descent available to your attention. But snowboard lovers will love the high-quality and modern fan park with first-class jumps, tracks and winding slopes.

And this is not all a list of popular ski destinations and resorts, which are always and at all times in great demand and popularity.

The day before winter season and New Year's holidays, the Travel.ru portal compiled, popular among our compatriots. We couldn’t pass by, since we ourselves visited some of them in recent years (also for reasons of economy!) and have a good idea of not only the average cost of a vacation, but also transport accessibility, the quality of the tracks and other points that can only be assessed on the spot. So, where can you go skiing inexpensively and with pleasure in Europe for the New Year? Here is our mini-rating from eyewitnesses.

Kopaonik, Serbia

In first place we put Kopaonik, a Serbian ski resort located in the national park at an altitude of 1770 m. Hotels and private guesthouses built on a mountain plateau look directly at the slopes along which about 50 km of trails are laid. The resort is very compact - you can get around it on foot in half an hour, and the variety of trails is enough for 10 days of skiing. Most of the slopes are of medium difficulty, and half of them lead to the resort's central clearing with three multi-chair lifts. Three more modern “armchairs” are located in the forest at a distance.

Kopaonik is famous for the fact that throughput Its 22 lifts are almost equal to the maximum number of tourists at the resort, so queues are rare here. There are also 200 sunny days a year here, and new year holidays they fall out too! The lack of snow, which is possible at the beginning of the season, is compensated by snow cannons.

Restaurants on the slopes are traditionally more expensive, the most delicious cuisine and affordable prices are in the Allo-allo cafe, located in hotel complex"Konatsi". Après ski is presented quite modestly: there are two swimming pools (one is in the spa complex of the Grand Hotel, quite expensive), an ice skating rink, you can play table tennis and cross-country skiing.

The resort is good for those who just want to ski - or are planning to put children on skis (an hour with an instructor cost 25 euros two years ago). The most expensive is the Moscow-Belgrade flight. From Belgrade about 300 km south (5 hours). The transfer is inexpensive, the road is not tiring, the last part is an ascent to the mountains with very beautiful scenery. A visa is not required for Russians in Serbia.

Strbske Pleso, Slovakia

Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republic

Berchtesgaden, Germany

German Berchtesgaden, located almost on the border with Austria, 185 km from Munich and 25 km from Salzburg, is essentially not a ski resort, but simply a resort, a former summer residence Bavarian kings. There are 6 ski areas around the charming town: very tiny Obersalzberg and Grünstein (one or two rope ropes and gentle slides for beginners), significantly removed from the center Rosfeld and Hochschwarzeck, famous for night skiing Götchen (one “chair chair”, two rope ropes, three slopes of varying degrees difficulties), as well as the main descent of the region - Jenner, in the town of Schönau am Königssee, on the shore of a beautiful lake.

This is a sports track where two lines will take you up cable car; At the middle station you can also change to a ski lift or chairlift. Not everyone will be able to slide down from the very top, but it’s worth the climb for the stunning alpine scenery. Due to the fact that the lower part of the route is the easiest, a queue quickly forms for the first part of the cable car (the cabin can accommodate only 4 people). We didn’t notice a ski bus in the vicinity of Berchtesgaden, but each ski area has a spacious parking lot: without a car in these parts there are few places you can get to in a short rest time.

So we recommend another ski area - the Austrian Lofer, 40 km from Berchtesgaden with excellent mountain road. Now this is a full-fledged resort - with a modern cable car, an extensive network of trails, quality food at the top and an interesting descent to the foot of the mountains.

And a few words about the cultural program. It will seriously compete with skiing in Berchtesgaden and its surroundings - because to visit salt mines(and still in operation!), you can take a boat ride around Königssee, explore the interiors of the castle, and now the city museum only during the operating hours of the ski lifts. But the thermal baths are open until late - a local water park with slides, salt and regular pools, Jacuzzis, etc., a visit to which costs less than a standard Moscow pool. By the way, the more famous thermal complex in the neighboring town of Bad Reichenhall turned out to be less cozy and interesting.
