City of Cadaques Spain. Cadaques, Spain. Districts. Where is the best place to live?

Cadaques not so much popular destination in the Russian tourist community, unlike Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar or Blanes promoted by travel agents. However, this city enjoys authority and demand among Catalans. What is so attractive about it, why Salvador Dali loved it so much? We set out to look for answers to these questions in May, before the beach season in Spain began.

So what is he, Cadaqués? All my assumptions and expectations in relation to this city were not justified. No, Cadaques did not disappoint, it just turned out to be completely different. Architecture, coast, nature, even local cuisine turned out to be absolutely different from the already familiar Costa Brava.

How to get to Cadaques

This small resort town is located in autonomous community Catalonia on the popular Costa Brava.

The city has no own airport, so if you are heading here straight from Russia, you will have to consider the nearest cities of Spain from international airports. There are two of them, Girona 60 km away and Barcelona 170 km away.

Undoubtedly, best option- Arrival at Girona airport. There are direct Pobeda flights from Russia here. Read more about this route here.

As for Barcelona, the distance from the city to Cadaqués is quite considerable. But on the other hand, unlike Girona, about 10 direct flights from Moscow fly to El Prat airport every day. Accordingly, you can choose the optimal departure/arrival time and airline.

Now on types of transport and routes directly to Cadaqués.

By bus

Direct bus routes are established between Cadaques and the following major cities/stations:

  • Barcelona Airport El Prat - Cadaques: 3 hours 20 minutes, 26.50 euros;
  • Barcelona (Estacio del Nord station) - Cadaqués: 2 hours 45 minutes, 24.50 euros;
  • Girona (Estacio station) - Cadaqués: 2 hours 15 minutes, 9.75 euros;
  • Figueres (Estacio station) - Cadaques: 1 hour, 5.50 euros;
  • Empuriabrava (OFICINA TURISME stop) - Cadaques: 55 minutes, 3.75 euros.

All routes are operated by Sarfa. We look at the current prices and schedule on the official website of the carrier.

By train

There are no train tracks in Cadaques, so this type of transport is not entirely convenient. The nearest city with a railway station is Figueres. Main routes:

  • Barcelona (Sants Station) - Figueres: about 2 hours, 15 euros;
  • Girona - Figueres: about 40 minutes, 6 euros.

We look at the schedule of trains and trains on the Renfe website.

In Figueres you need to change to the Sarfa bus. It seems to me that it is much easier to use direct bus routes.

By car

The best option to get to Cadaques is to rent a car immediately after arriving at the airport. In this case, you will not depend on train/bus schedules.

In Spain, the price for renting a car is one of the most affordable in the world, the cost of a day starts from 20 euros, the deposit is no more than 200 euros. Rentalcars to help.

Usually in small resort towns there are big problems with parking. In Cadaques we had no difficulties with this; on the general map of the city (below) I noted several free parking where you can leave your car.

But it’s worth making an amendment here; we visited the city in early May, during the peak season ( summer months) the situation should be more complicated.

Where to stay in Cadaques

The town itself is small. You can walk it from one end to the other in 15-20 minutes. Therefore, dividing Cadaqués into districts and giving any special recommendations for living is pointless. Everything is right under your nose here.

The prices are quite reasonable, 60 - 100 euros per night. A clickable map of Cadaques hotels is located below:

The only thing I note is that the higher (farther from the embankment) the hotel is located, the better the view from the window will be. In Cadaques there are several very decent options for apartments away from the center (10-15 min walk), which are located on a hill. The panorama of the city from them is amazing. Below are a couple of such options:

  • Casa del Pi
  • Carpe Diem Cadaqués

Cadaques Map

Sights of Cadaques

My personal opinion is that there are none in Cadaques. Not in the usual format for many, when a landmark is a church, house, monument or square, a dot that you put on the map before your vacation, and then you look for and examine while wandering around the city.

In Cadaqués, too, there is all this - a church and monuments, but they are not noticeable and only complement the overall picture of the perception of the city.

Medieval pavement paved with herringbone slate stones, pots of flowers displayed outside each house. Every detail in this city is in its place and complements unique look Cadaqués.

I know from myself that before preparing for a trip, I always want to study a place in as much detail as possible, so as not to miss anything interesting, and put more marks on the map so that I know where to go. Surely many will not be happy with my advice to just walk along the streets of the city, but believe me, this is how you should see Cadaques without filling your head with unnecessary information.

On the map I will mark only a few places that can be identified as separate attractions.

Lookout Mirador de Cadaques

In tourist brochures about Cadaqués, most attention is paid to the Església de Santa Maria church, which serves as a symbol of the city. To be honest, the building is small, the view from the outside does not cause much awe. Getting inside is very problematic; the church is open to the public only on Saturday (after 7 pm) and Sunday (from 11:00). Another option is to join organized group, for whom the church can be opened during non-working hours.

I think this is not the place to go for great historical cathedrals and churches. However, the square next to Esglesia de Santa Maria is very remarkable. There is observation deck, offering excellent views of the bay.

A visit to the square and the observation deck is a must, I recommend it.

Can you imagine a coastal town in Spain without a promenade? I think not.

This is the busiest place in Cadaques. I think 80% of all the restaurants in the city are located here. Great place to have lunch, dinner or just hang out with a glass of sangria while looking at the sea.

Surprisingly, the cuisine in this area is completely different from that typical of the more popular resorts of the Costa Brava. The basis here is also the freshest seafood, but they are prepared differently.

Which restaurant should you choose? I think you can sit in any one. All establishments, like the city itself, are focused more on domestic tourism. And where the locals eat, it’s always delicious. In any European country, this is the main argument when choosing a restaurant.

House-Museum of Salvador Dali

Most Popular tourist place cities. In Cadaques, or more precisely in the village of Port Ligat (800 m from the Cadaques embankment), there is the Dali House Museum. The artist lived here most of his life. Over the course of 40 years, he transformed a purchased fisherman's hut into the surreal home of his dreams.

Fans of Dali's work, and simply people interested in art, will certainly find the museum interesting.

We didn’t have Dali’s house in our plans, so I can’t give any recommendations about this place. Detailed information For information about opening hours, ticket reservations and other answers to important questions, please visit the official website of the museum.

As for the village of Port Ligat itself, I really liked one point from where you can see good review to the bay. I put a mark on the map.

Beaches of Cadaques

When you are planning to go to the Costa Brava, a picture immediately appears in your head: sandy beaches with crystal clear turquoise water, rocky coastline covered with Mediterranean pines and firs.

We went to Cadaqués at the beginning of May, it was not yet the season for swimming, but nevertheless, I sincerely hoped to get into the sea on some deserted beach, despite the fact that the water was only +17 C.

If you are considering Cadaques as an option for an annual beach holiday, then I think my review of the beaches near the city will not hurt.

Beach Platja Gran y Esportal

This is the city beach of Cadaques. To be honest, I have never seen a sadder sight in Spain. Sand mixed with gravel. The water is muddy, I don’t know what’s there at the bottom, most likely stones covered with slippery grass.

There was absolutely no desire to swim on such a beach. I didn’t even want to just take off my shoes and wet my feet. I can imagine what my disappointment would be if I came to Cadaqués for a beach holiday for a week in the summer.

Beach Platja de Port Lligat

This is another beach within walking distance from the center of Cadaques. It can also be classified as urban; the walk is only 10 minutes from the central embankment of the city.

The picture is still sad, dirty rubble.

These are the two largest beaches in Cadaques; there are also tiny rocky areas along the coast, which for some reason are marked on maps as beaches, I won’t even mention them.

I think we can finish this review of the beaches of Cadaqués. The conclusion is the following: there is no beach holiday in this area of the Costa Brava. The shore is dirty gravel, the sea is a swamp. You need to go to Cadaques for the city itself and the accompanying atmosphere. And for the sea and beaches, I recommend heading to, this city is about 100 km from Cadaques. Right there real paradise for a beach holiday.

The city is undeniably beautiful, but the best way to visit is “come, see and leave on the same day.” No matter how meticulously you examine Cadaqués, at most, you can actively spend half a day here. Then either hang out on the embankment, or on the veranda of the apartment.

If there were beaches, you could even spend a whole week in the city, otherwise you could stay a maximum of one night.

What else to do in the vicinity of Cadaques? You should definitely go to Cap de Creus. This national reserve, through which hiking routes pass. A must visit. I dedicated a separate article to Cap de Creus.

It is good to visit the city outside of the beach season, when there is no heat and you can calmly walk along its streets and sit on the embankment. If your goal is beaches, then Cadaques is the most worst option on the Costa Brava. There is an amazing atmosphere here, which I think will really appeal to creative people, as well as retirees.

If you only have time to make one stop on the scenic Costa Brava, make it in Cadaques. The washed-up snow-white village, located in a rocky bay, is famous for its hilly streets, stunning (without exaggeration) views and, of course, the name of Dali. It was no coincidence that this artist, just like Picasso or Chagall, as well as a flock of others, came here for inspiration. The unreal fusion of wind, sea, light and rocks that Cadaques gives can be considered the best “model”: always different, a little capricious and certainly memorable.

Thanks to the artist, as well as his friend Federico García Lorca, Cadaques was literally choked with a luxurious public, receiving the title of “Spanish Saint-Tropez”. It was here that a meeting with the poet Paul Eluard and his Russian wife Gala turned Dali’s life upside down: with her he fled to Paris and began to create in his own special style. In the 1950s, Cadaques could boast such famous guests as Walt Disney or the Duke of Windsor. Mick Jagger and Gabriel Garcia Marquez visited here in the 1970s. However, today the former glory of the town has faded away, which in no way detracts from its charm (in fact, quite the opposite).

How to get there

There are no direct trains from Barcelona to Cadaqués, but the first part of the journey can in any case be spent on the railway tracks. Namely: take the train to Figueres (the journey takes 1.5 hours). From there, walk strictly straight from the railway station to the city center, find the bus station and take the bus to Cadaques. They depart quite often, the journey will take about an hour, all this time the bus will slowly follow the hilly roads of Catalonia, at the end of the journey offering an unforgettable view of sleepy Cadaqués.

Alternatively, Cadaqués can be reached by direct bus from Sarfa; the schedule changes every season, so it is worth checking with the Barcelona information office. Buses depart from Gare du Nord, which is located near the Arc de Triomf metro station.

For those traveling by car: there are several free parking lots in the city, one of them is located in the city center, near the beach.

Beaches

The main beach of Cadaques, as well as several others located around it, look about the same: they are small, there are more small pebbles than sand, but their picturesque views and clear blue waters more than make up for these shortcomings.

Above the beach of Platja Llané, south of the city center, you can see the house of Dalí's parents rising above the sea. And on the embankment there is a monument to Lorca, in memory of his stay in Cadaques in the 1920s. By the way, there is a monument to Dali here too: on it, a gracefully curved artist stands leaning on a cane.

To the left of the city center there is a topless-friendly beach.

Entertainment and attractions in Cadaques

Cadaques - perfect place for leisurely romantic walks: both in the center and along the coastline or in its surroundings. The main architectural dominant of the city is, of course, the Church of St. Mary of the 16th-17th centuries. with an amazing baroque altar. Located on the very high place in Cadaques, it attracts attention even when approaching the city.

The second most popular attraction is the Museum contemporary art with works by Dali, Picasso, Miro. And, of course, you can’t miss the Dali House Museum (entrance 14 EUR, children under 16 years old - 8 EUR).

If you think that this is where the attractions of Cadaqués end, then you are wrong. Concerned tourists should also visit the museum of Peter Moore, who worked for a long time as the artist’s secretary. There is a nice collection of Renaissance paintings and early works by Dali, the artist’s personal correspondence, as well as a vintage car, which is decorated with three-dimensional images of Dali, Picasso, Buñuel and Garcia Lorca (well, completely surreal).

Finally, it is worth paying attention to the Geological Museum of Cadaques, which is located on the territory nature reserve Cap de Creus, inside an ancient lighthouse. This is a full-fledged science center, which tells visitors about the development and changes of the animal and flora Catalonia. In the old barracks above the lighthouse, visiting hippies set up a cozy restaurant with curry and a good whiskey list (main dishes 16-20 EUR). Actually, the Cap de Creus nature reserve itself (Cap de Creus, “Cape of the Cross”) is the easternmost point mainland Spain. Its rugged, windswept coastline is considered one of the most beautiful in the country.

Once on the coast of Cap de Creus, it seems as if some kind of magical elevator has transported you to the spacious hills of Scotland or the high plateaus of Norway.

Cadaques Map:

Mine lives in Cadaques good friend, art collector and big fan of Dali's work. If I find myself nearby, I certainly come to visit an old and cool house on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea overlooking the bay and the red tiled roofs of the houses. Cadaqués literally fascinates me every time. This is a European dream town. Among those that are pleasant to draw in your mind, but you are not sure that they actually exist. I like everything here: the unhurried rhythm, windy weather, snow-white houses (in Cadaqués it’s like in Greece: blue sea, white houses), cats on every corner, unhurried and at the same time mischievous residents, families of fishermen and then owners of yachts and mansions. Everyone is equally welcoming and noble!

What I also like about Cadaques is the feeling of grace that overtakes you literally in the first minute of your stay. Problems disappear, and the joy of life appears. And I want to sit forever on the local embankment, drink coffee, watch seagulls, rocks and artists in colorful scarves walking along the sea.

How to get there

It is impossible to get directly from Russia to Cadaques. First you need to fly to Barcelona. Read about how it’s easier and more profitable to do this. I'll tell you about the next steps. Cadaques does not have its own airport. But you can use the train, bus and rented car.

By plane

There are direct flights from Moscow to Barcelona Aeroflot airlines, Vueling, Iberia, S7. Travel time is 4 hours 30 minutes. One-way ticket price starts from 120 EUR.

Three airlines operate direct flights from St. Petersburg to Barcelona: Vueling, Iberia, Aeroflot. Travel time is 4 hours 15 minutes. Ticket price – from 180 EUR one way.

Look current prices for tickets you can.

By train

There is no direct train from Barcelona to Cadaques. This option involves a transfer in the city. A train leaves Barcelona P. Gracia station for Figueres every hour. The journey will take 1 hour 45 minutes. In Figueres you need to change to bus number 12 to Cadaques, which leaves every three hours. You can do this right where you get off the train. The journey by bus will take another hour.

The total cost of such a combined trip is from 30 EUR. It makes sense if you really love trains and adventure. Or if you want to take the opportunity to make a productive stop in Figueres: take a walk around it and go to the Dali Museum.

By bus

The most profitable, simple and fastest option. There are direct buses from Barcelona to Cadaques 5 times a day. They depart from the airport (which is especially convenient!) and from Gare du Nord, which is located near the Arc de Triomf metro station. Travel time – 3 hours. The first bus is at 08:00 in the morning, the last at 21:00 in the evening. Ticket price – 25 EUR. You can buy it in advance online or right before departure at the ticket office. The schedule changes frequently, I recommend checking it on this website.

By car

Barcelona and Cadaques are separated by 170 km. At the beginning of the journey the road is excellent, but in the second hour a mountain serpentine begins, which continues all the way to the city. If that doesn't bother you, there are plenty of local and international rental companies operating at Barcelona El Prat Airport. In a good situation (not on Fridays and holidays), you can get to Cadaqués in 2 hours 30 minutes.

When is the season? When is the best time to go

Cadaques is located in unique place, where the Pyrenees mountains meet Mediterranean Sea, forming a small bay. Therefore, the climate here is unique, different from neighboring cities and villages. However, the concept of “high” and “low” seasons is the same as in other Costa Brava resorts.

The “high” season is summer, the time of beaches and warm seas. According to my observations, it is from June to August that the owners of local villas come to Cadaques from Spain and France and take a break from the city heat. The quiet, calm town is incredibly busy during these months; it is sometimes difficult to find a free place on the beach, and in restaurants it was sometimes difficult for me to get a table. But in all other months there is peace and grace here: there are only cats on the streets, it seems there are no people at all. It seemed to me that I was alone in the city. Winter and off-season are, in my opinion, best time for walks, excursions and leisurely exploration of the wonderful Pyrenean town.

Cadaques in summer

From June to early September, Cadaques has enviable weather: sunny and not extremely hot, unlike most Spanish resorts, where I could not go outside after lunch until the evening. The coolest month is June, the average daytime temperature is +25 °C (nighttime +18 °C). July and August are the hottest months of the year. During the day the air warms up to +28 °C, at night +20 °C. Summer water temperature is from +19 °C to +23 °C. Compared to other parts of the Spanish resort coast, this is a welcome release from the stifling summer heat. Although the sky is bright blue and the sun is every day.

I want to warn you that summer is vacation time and school holidays among the Spaniards and other Europeans, who literally occupy beach chairs and restaurant tables. The owners of houses and villas located in the idyllic Cadaques also come here to relax.

Honestly, I advise you to come to Cadaqués any time, just not during the “high” season. Despite the presence of the sea and beaches, Cadaques is not a typical resort town. It is, first of all, a home of art and a haven for artists. Therefore, if you are striving specifically for beach holiday, it's better to choose another place. And I recommend coming to Cadaqués in the “low” season, when you can really feel its unique bohemian atmosphere.

Cadaques in autumn

I am absolutely convinced that this is a wonderful time to visit Cadaques! September and October are a real “velvet” season, when the sultry summer sun no longer bothers you, and no one is breathing down your neck on the beach. Daytime temperatures in the first autumn months are from +22°С to +25°С, night temperatures are from +16°С to +18°С. You can also swim in the sea; the water warms up to +23°C on sunny days. In November it gets cold and often rains. The thermometer drops to +16°C, and in the evenings you really need a warm jacket.

Cadaques in spring

My favorite time in Cadaques. This is a real riot of floral aromas and lush greenery. It's still early for swimming, but this is the perfect season for walking. The temperature ranges from +15°C to +20°C. It rains no more than three days a month. Everything is waking up after winter. The air is fresh, there are no people. And short thunderstorms in spring are amazing, breathtaking beauty!

Cadaques in winter

In winter in Cadaques, I’ll be honest, the chilly weather is not the most pleasant, accompanied by piercing “tramontana” winds. The average daily air temperature is +13°C, at night the thermometer usually shows +7°C. There may be cold temperatures reaching 0°C, but this happens extremely rarely. There is no heating, the sky is dark, the hotels are cold and chilly. Local residents save themselves with a fireplace and strong drinks. I advise you to follow their example!

Districts. Where is the best place to live?

Just over 2,000 people live in Cadaqués. This is a tiny town with a medieval structure: main square + chaotic stepped streets. Of course, there are no districts here. All hotels are located inside the Old Town, in wonderful houses covered with flowers.

I want to warn you: there are no budget accommodation options in Cadaques.

During the “high” season the prices are incredible and it is impossible to book anything. On the “low” side, the most modest room (if you’re lucky enough to get it) will cost 60-70 EUR per night for two. And the average price is 100-150 EUR. Therefore, most often people come to Cadaques only for the weekend, or even just for one day, without an overnight stay, from Barcelona.

What are the prices for holidays?

Cadaques is not the cheapest city. It was once a simple fishing village, but then became famous due to Salvador Dali and the artists and poets who endlessly visited him. Now the city is a cult city, old snow-white houses are loved by wealthy gallery owners, and mostly wealthy families from Spain and France, which is nearby, come to vacation.

I always pawn in approximate cost trip the following points: accommodation, food, transportation, cultural trips (museums, galleries, temples), souvenirs.

  • Price double room V historical center cities – from 60 EUR/night.
  • Lunch/dinner in an inexpensive restaurant – 15 EUR.
  • The average price of a ticket to the museum is 6 EUR.
  • Car rental for a day – 60 EUR.
  • Local wine as a gift – 2 EUR.

Main attractions. What to see

To be honest, there are frankly few attractions in Cadaques. And yet, tourists return to it again and again. It's all about the special spirit of Cadaqués, his incredibly attractive energy. I advise you not to concentrate on finding “important” places, but just walk and get lost in the chaos of cobbled narrow streets and snow-white houses. Cadaques is a city for romantic, calm and peaceful walks. The main attractions of Cadaques will find you!

Top 5

Beaches. Which ones are better

Cadaques, despite its bohemian-artistic reputation and connection with the company of surrealists, is still a working Mediterranean resort, and not a museum under open air. Therefore, I would like to tell you more about the beaches. Among the common features: they are all small, pebbly and sandy, picturesque, with rugged coastline and rocks.

Now let's move on to the details:

What to see in 1 day

Cadaques is one of those cities that can be explored in one day. Or even this: it’s impossible not to see it in one day. No matter how much time you spend in this wonderful city, it will be a pleasant repetition of the past. Here's the daily routine I recommend:

What to see in the area

Food. What to try

Cadaques is a city of outstanding fish restaurants. Always, everywhere and at any time of the day, I advise you to order fish and seafood here, you won’t go wrong! Almost every establishment on the shore has excellent sardines, paella, grilled shrimp, sea bream, deep-fried squid and other delicacies. Everything is fresh, and most importantly, prepared with soul!

Cadaques is a gastronomic paradise. There are more excellent fish restaurants here than residential buildings. Wealthy Spanish families often come here specifically for the sole purpose of eating seafood. In addition to the deliciousness here, most establishments are equipped with a veranda, which offers a romantic view of the sea, the Pyrenees and the orange tiled roofs of the houses. The main restaurants are located on main square(next to the Dali monument) and the streets of the Old Town branching from it.

Holidays

If Cadaqués weren't in Spain, it might be a nice seaside but deadly boring town. But the Spaniards, of which I am absolutely convinced, are the most cheerful people in the whole world. They love life like no other and endlessly organize holidays and festivals in every corner of their large picturesque country. Cadaques was no exception. Not a month goes by here without a colorful city event. I'll tell you about my favorites:

Safety. What to watch out for

Things to do

The most enjoyable activity in Cadaques is walking around the city. I advise you to get up early and walk at dawn one day. The city is especially beautiful at this time! To make your walk more interesting, set small goals for yourself. For example, find the Blue House and the Cat House (hint - they are located on the streets of the Old Town).

My other advice is not to be shy and communicate more with local residents. Here is the highest concentration interesting people: artists, musicians, poets. They are all open to dialogue and are literally waiting for you to talk to them!

Shopping and shops

There are no big shops in Cadaques, only cute little shops. You can buy everything you need there: food, souvenirs, clothes. Most often, each store has its own interesting history, non-color photographs from the past hang on the walls, the kind and wise faces of the grandparents of the current owners. So shopping is like walking through a museum!

Bars. Where to go

Cadaques has a lot of fun bars, just like anywhere spanish city. Despite the general wealthy and aristocratic spirit of the place, the Spaniards are Spaniards. They love the simple life with its simple pleasures: a glass of beer in a good old cafe with wooden tables, and then another in a neighboring establishment. And so on until the morning. My favorite bars in Cadaques:

Clubs and nightlife

Cadaques has a lot of really fun Spanish bars and great restaurants, but there are no dance clubs. I think this is due to the fact that there are very few young people in the city. Local population- These are, for the most part, aging artists, musicians and poets who like to sit with friends over a glass of beer or wine. There is no demand for nightclubs here.

Souvenirs. What to bring as a gift

Cadaques is associated primarily with the name of Salvador Dali. Hence the whole souvenir theme. Magnets, T-shirts, postcards, art albums - everything with Dali's face on it. And if you go into the store next to his museum, your eyes will completely widen. I brought a surreal vase (10 EUR), an autobiography of the great artist (5 EUR) and a bag with a pattern copying Dali’s style (8 EUR).

How to get around the city

Cadaques is a tiny and completely pedestrian town. There are no metro, buses or trams here. The only way to travel between the beaches and to neighboring cities is by car (taxi or rented car). There are also charming tourist trains running around the city and its suburbs.

Taxi. What features exist

There are no taxis around the city. The streets are too narrow and hilly. To travel around the area, you can take a regular taxi or an electric car (they are very popular in Cadaques). I recommend the second: it’s environmentally friendly, enjoyable and a lot of fun!

The electric car seats four people plus there is a luggage compartment in the back. You can take it with a driver, but that doesn't make sense in my opinion. It is very easy to manage, but someone in your company must have the rights. There are quite a few tariffs: you can rent for an hour, for a day or to a specific attraction.

I took an electric car with a driver to the Dali Museum. It cost 8 EUR one way. There is only one company providing electric cars in the city and it is called Eco Car Cadaques. Usually in the office (address: Avinguda Caritat Serinyana, num 11) the owner Diego himself sits, a very cheerful and friendly person who will happily tell and show you everything.

As for regular taxis, they can be found in the main square and at local rental offices. Payment by meter (1 km - 1 EUR). Transfers between beaches cost from 5 EUR. You can pay either in cash or by card. Night service and trip to public holidays are paid at double rate.

Transport rental

To get around Cadaques you don't need a car at all. The city is small, and all attractions are within walking distance of each other. In addition, in the historical center there are very narrow streets, which are basically impossible to drive through. However, for traveling around the area and to neighboring wild beaches A rented car, in my opinion, is a wonderful option!

You can rent a car only after reaching 21 years of age, with an international driving license and at least a year of driving experience. As a financial guarantee, you must leave a deposit or credit card. The average cost of renting a car in Cadaques with insurance and navigator is 60 EUR per day. Price options can be viewed. The price of gasoline is 1.25 EUR per liter.

If you rent a car in Cadaques, I recommend remembering the following rules:

Cadaques - holidays with children

Cadaqués has no fame family resort, although this is a bay with warm sea And good climate. But holidays here are much more expensive than in neighboring villages of the Costa Brava. In addition, the choice of hotels is not so large. Usually people come to Cadaques from Barcelona for a weekend or just for a day, like, for example, from Moscow. A child is not a hindrance to such a mini-trip. Cadaques has wonderful scenery, excellent air, delicious food, kind people, and a high level of safety. You can also rent a fun electric car that the kids will surely love.
