Temple of Seraphim of Sarov

A beautiful church is located nearby Arctic Circle. Local residents call the temple nothing less than the “Urengoy miracle”.

The monument is dedicated to the R-2 drilling well, as well as to the people who took part in its construction. It was from this well that the history of Novy Urengoy began half a century ago.

In the manufacture of the monument, real valves and flanges were used, which are used in gas production. Next to the tower there are two gilded figures of drillers. One of them joyfully raises his right hand in greeting. It should be noted that the monument has not changed at all over all these years; it looks exactly the same as it did when it was installed in the 60s. All guests of the city consider it their duty to take photographs at the monument.

Fountain "Sailboat"

Without a doubt, this is one of the main attractions of New Urengoy. A fancy metal structure adorns the main green area of the so-called Northern residential part of the city - Friendship Park. The structure really resembles a sailboat. It has a mast and fluttering sails.

Memory Square

In the very center of the Northern residential zone there is Memory Square with a unique memorial to three wars. It was opened in 2005 in memory of those killed in three terrible armed conflicts of the 20th century - the Great Patriotic War, the Afghan and Chechen Wars.

Of all the proposed projects, a sketch by the Moscow sculptor A. Frangulyan was chosen. The monument consists of three monolithic columns of different heights. There's a fire nearby Eternal flame, lit at one of the local gas fields. On the square, during the opening of the monument, a time capsule was laid, which should be opened in 2025 (for the 50th anniversary of the city).

Monument to the first train

Without due transport communication no one modern city cannot exist. In the park near the building railway station there is a handsome locomotive TEZ-3003. It was installed here on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Novy Urengoy station. It was this locomotive that became a kind of pioneer for the city - in 1982 it brought here the first batch of food and building materials.

In the early 70s, railway connections in these northern regions Only Surgut could boast. In 1976, the first meters of the railway to Novy Urengoy were laid. Laying the canvas lasted almost six years! But the city was still connected to the “mainland”. And the monument to the first train is, first of all, a monument to the labor feat of hundreds of people who worked in extremely difficult conditions.

Tazovskaya tundra

Having visited all the most interesting sights of New Urengoy, you can safely go out of town. About a hundred kilometers to the northeast, in the interfluve of the Taz and Yenisei, there is a unique natural complex- Tazovskaya tundra. This is a swampy-lake lowland, covered with mosses, grass, low-growing spruce and birch trees. It is especially beautiful here in early autumn. Monument to Borodino bread

The monument to Borodino bread in Novy Urengoy appeared in 2012. The monument was erected next to the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov. The monument was opened during the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the victory in the war with Napoleon. The monument to Borodino bread is a huge pedestal on which a St. George ribbon with a banner is placed. On them lies a huge loaf of rye bread. Several even pieces were cut off from the side of the hump. This monument was erected in Novy Urengoy for a reason. Borodino bread symbolizes the Battle of Borodino. People call this type of bread funeral bread. Many people associate every smallest detail of the bun with something. Thus, coriander, which is usually sprinkled on top of bread, is very similar to cartel, the resulting dark color of the bun is the grief that befell the country during the war.

This monument is one of the interesting attractions in the city. Many public figures and the entire city administration came to its opening. Near the monument, the cadets laid a capsule with soil. The lighting ceremony for the monument was conducted by Oleg Nelin, rector of the Temple of St. Seraphim of Sarov. After the illumination, he distributed pieces of Borodino bread to everyone who wanted it.

When buying Borodinsky bread in a store, hardly anyone thinks about why Borodino bread? Many associate it with rye black bread. In fact, the story is this: at one time a monastery was built on the Borodino field, it was founded by the widow of a killed soldier, and this bread was baked there. Exactly 200 years ago, the Russian army defeated and put to flight Napoleon’s large army. The Battle of Borodino is considered the bloodiest in the history of the 19th century: about 80 thousand soldiers and officers died on both sides.

The right to open the monument and place a capsule with soil in it, which was brought specially from the Borodino field, was entrusted to the best cadets of the gas capital. This is not so much a monument to bread, they noted here, as to those great historical events of two centuries ago. Each participant in the ceremony was treated to a piece of real rye Borodino bread, which has been baked in Novy Urengoy for many years.

In any Russian city or outback, in almost every grocery store, you can buy a loaf of fragrant Borodino bread. And even though bakers produce this bread with their own flavor, the main thing is that it is still baked, passing on a unique recipe from generation to generation.

“...Yamal is harsh in the January fury, In the cold, equipment breaks down, But even those who froze in the tundra, Say that there is nothing more beautiful than Urengoy...” - Valery Khalansky

The monument to railway workers is one of the most striking symbols of the city. The monument represents a real TEZ-3003 locomotive, donated in honor of the 30th anniversary of the arrival of the first train in the city. This landmark is not just a reminder of historical events, but is also a direct participant in an important moment in the history of New Urengoy. Or rather, not even a participant, but the main character of a significant date.

It was this locomotive that in 1982 brought the first building materials to begin the extensive construction of the railway, which in the future would connect the gas capital with the “mainland”.

The monument to railway workers, first of all, is a symbol of gratitude and respect to those who, more than 30 years ago, with their own hands laid the steel track that connected Urengoy with other cities of our country. This is not just a way to perpetuate history, it is a way to preserve the memory of the real labor feat of the residents of the Siberian city of Novy Urengoy.

Monument to the locomotive The presentation was prepared by Anastasia Petrova, 8a student of the MAOU Secondary School “Native Land”

An attraction in Novy Urengoy is the monument to the locomotive. Such an unusual monument was erected in connection with the history of the city, because the railway plays an important role in the city. To build the city it was necessary a large number of construction materials, and various foodstuffs for residents, the trains brought everything they needed, and nothing interfered with the construction of the city

It was decided to erect the monument near central station, on Privokzalnaya street. The TEZ-3003 locomotive was presented to the city on the day in honor of the thirtieth anniversary of the Yamal Railway Company station. This diesel locomotive was not chosen by chance, because many years ago it was the one that first brought building materials and other things for the construction of the city.

For many years the diesel locomotive was in the depot of the city of Nadym; it was completely restored by the best craftsmen in this business. And only after that, he was sent to Novy Urengoy to take his well-deserved, honorable place as a landmark.

The only people waiting for the arrival of the locomotive were the workers of the railway station and the foremen who were supposed to install it. The installation of the diesel locomotive was very complex; large cables were made and piles were driven in for fastening. A large amount of heavy equipment was involved during the installation. The work went on until late at night until the entire diesel locomotive was installed on a pedestal. In a few days, everyone could come and see the landmark, which would remind of the history and development of the region.

Monument to Sabit Atayevich Orujev The presentation was prepared by an 8th grade student, Anastasia Kiseleva.

The fate of the city is very closely connected with the name of this man. Sabit Atayevich was a scientist, organizer of the country's energy complex, as well as a Hero of Socialist Labor, and during the USSR he was appointed Minister of the Gas Industry. In 1973, on September 23, Sabit Atayevich uttered the phrase “It will be built here new town builders and gas workers." He made a huge contribution to the development of gas fields in Novy Urengoy.

The opening of the monument took place in 2003 on October 24. The city administration decided to erect a monument on the campus; this place was chosen so that students of the institute would see and strive to reach such heights as Sabit Atayevich Orujov.

For city residents, this monument is a tribute to the memory of the man thanks to whom they motherland so transformed. After all, he was among the first to help build one of the main cities of the gas industry in Russia.

On city celebration days, many residents come to the monument with flowers. Recently, first-year students at the Institute of Gas Industry have developed a custom to make their studies easier by bringing a bouquet of flowers to the monument. Therefore, at the beginning of autumn, the area near the monument resembles a beautiful garden.

Thank you for your attention! lalki

The cities of Russia amaze with their beauty and grandeur and attract a large number of tourists. And it doesn’t matter at all whether it’s an ancient city or a young one. Each of them is unique and attractive.

In Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug There is a city - Novy Urengoy. This city is known to everyone as the “gas capital” of our country. And, although its history is only tens of years old, there is something to see in it, there are interesting places where you can enjoy your holiday.

The city is located on the banks of the Evo-Yakha River, a tributary of the Pura; two rivers flow through the city itself - Tamchara-Yakha and Sede-Yakha, dividing it into the Northern and Southern parts.

Since 1949, the construction of a railway was carried out in the tundra, at the direction of Stalin, by the hands of Gulag prisoners, whose work later helped gas producers discover large deposits of natural gas. The official date of birth of the city is August 18, 1975, which at that time had the status of a village. Then it developed at a rapid pace, and already on June 16, 1980 it received the status of a city, but the year of its foundation is still considered to be 1975, and City Day is celebrated in September, as in most other cities in Russia.

You can get to it by road, rail and by air. The extracted natural gas is supplied both within the country and abroad, a huge number of fields are exploited, which allows us to rightfully consider this city the “gas capital” of Russia.

Guests of the city who reach it using railway transport, you will definitely like the monument to the locomotive. It stands on Privokzalnaya Street, not far from the central station.

It was on this diesel locomotive, donated to the city for the thirty-year anniversary of the station, that many years ago materials for the construction of the city were delivered. For people looking at the train, it reminds them of the development of the region and its history.

Location: Privokzalnaya street (in the park).

Next to the administrative building of Gazprom, a majestic monument rises, a symbol of the gas production of the industrial center. It was created in the shape of a sphere, the material is metal, and it was opened in April 2013. The emblem of Yamal, the symbol of Gazprom, is visible on the sphere. Before the installation of the monument, residents came here to make wishes; this tradition has survived to this day.

Location: Zheleznodorozhnaya street - 8.

In 2003, a monument was erected in the city, decorating central square. Reminiscent of the image of the Motherland in the form of a woman holding a torch in her right hand, which invites everyone to follow the pioneers of the city.

The figure is made in full height, captivating with its powerful appearance and impressive 12-meter size. The author of the sculpture is the great artist of Russia, Nikolai Raspopov. At the base they laid a time capsule, a kind of message to descendants, and it will be opened in 11 years, when the Urengoygazprom company turns 50 years old.

Location: street 26 Congress of the CPSU - 12.

The history of Novy Urengoy is clearly depicted in the main attraction, in the monument to the drilling well and people. It is not located in the city itself, a few kilometers away, but is always included in the route of city sightseeing tours. This is exactly the place where 51 years ago a well gushed tall fountain natural gas, started here great story organization "Gazprom", this monument stands here.

The monument represents two workers standing at a drilling derrick, it reminds where development began and how the city came into being. A wonderful monument is a symbol of the feat of strong and courageous people.

Location: Magistralnaya street.

You can enjoy a family vacation and walks with children by visiting the builders' park. It received its name thanks to the famous builder Andrey Ivanovich Nalivaiko, according to whose designs many city buildings were built.

In the park there is a large sculpture depicting architectural structures, next to it is a board of honor for people who show themselves better than others in their field, in their work. In the summer, the square is attractive for its park area with benches and paths, flower beds, lanterns, and in winter people come here to enjoy the beauty of the ice sculptures.

Location: Yamalskaya street.

In 2005, a fountain, the first in the city, was opened in Friendship Park. It is named Sail because of the structure in the fountain, made in the shape of sails fluttering in the wind; there is both a mast and a stern; it personifies the city’s movement forward, the desire of residents for its development. And, although the city is located in the Far North, in permafrost, there are quite hot summer days when people come to the fountain in search of freshness.
