There were no majestic mountains here. Oh those mountains! The memory of Pitirimov Sr. has preserved a lot of stories

Better than the mountains there can only be mountains,

Which I haven't been to yet...

Vladimir Vysotsky

There are many poems, songs and stories about mountains. Of course, everyone who has ever seen the mountains will remember their grandeur and beauty for the rest of their lives. Many try to conquer them, and many simply look and admire this magnificence and miracle of nature...

There are many mountains and extinct volcanoes. Most high mountain on the territory of modern Armenia is Aragats, whose height is 4094 meters.

Mount Ararat is an ancient extinct volcano, last eruption which was in 1840. It consists of two mountains that merge at their bases: Masis (Greater Ararat) and Sis (Little Ararat) and this is the highest point of the Armenian Highlands.

The top of a dormant volcano with a snow-white cap that sparkles in the bright rays of the African sun.

Perhaps that is why the locals called it Kilimanjaro, which means “sparkling mountain” in Swahili.

In the old days, the tribes inhabiting this area, who had never seen snow, thought that it was covered with silver.

Caucasus Mountains

Mount Fisht

Fisht is one of the most famous and beautiful peaks Western Caucasus. In clear weather it can be seen from Krasnodar, Sochi, Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Armavir and Timashevsk.

The extraordinary Mount Elbrus, which attracts climbers, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts, is actually a volcano.

Scientists call this mountain a stratovolcano, which means that from time to time streams of lava erupt from the vent, which, due to their density, do not spread over long distances, but solidify not far from the eruption site. Therefore, Elbrus “grows” every time and today is considered the highest mountain peak in Europe.

The main wealth of the Fan Mountains is, of course, lakes. There are more than thirty of them here. Large and small, deep and shallow, legendary and lost in inaccessible gorges.

Himalayas

Some of the most famous incredible wonders of the world are considered Himalayan mountains. The point is not only in the greatness of this creation of nature, but also in large quantities the unknown that these gigantic peaks contain.

In addition, Japan is famous for its volcanoes, of which there are more than 200, 160 of which are considered extinct.

The undisputed symbol of the country is sacred mountain Fuji. This is the most beautiful and famous mountain Japan, which was sung in ancient legends and tales.

In addition to her, Mount Ontakesan, Hakusan and Tateyama are also highly revered.

Explanation (see also Rule below).

Let's give the correct spelling.

There were no majestic mountains and rocks surrounded by clouds; it was an ordinary Russian expanse: fields, meadows, rare villages with thatched and wooden roofs.

In this sentence:

majestic – an adjective formed with the suffix –ENN–;

surrounded - full participle with a prefix and a dependent word;

straw - an adjective formed using the suffix –ENN–;

wooden - adjective, word exception (NN, although formed using the suffix -YANN-).

Answer: 1234.

Answer: 1234

Rule: Task 15. Writing N and NN in words of different parts of speech

RIGHT -N-/-NN- IN DIFFERENT PART OF SPEECH.

Tra-di-tsi-on-but is the most difficult topic for students, since justification for writing N or NN is possible -but only with knowledge of the morphological and verbal laws. Ma-te-ri-al "References" summarizes and si-ste-ma-ti-zi-ru-et all the rules of topics N and NN from school textbooks and gives additional information from V.V.’s reference books. Lo-pa-ti-na and D.E Ro-zen-ta-la in the volume that we don’t need to do to complete the Unified State Examination.

14.1 N and NN in denotative adjectives (formed from the names of nouns).

14.1.1 Two NNs in suffixes

In suf-fi-sahs with-la-ga-tel-nykh written-she-xia NN, If:

1). sa N: tumaN+ N → tu-maN-Ny; kar-man+N → kar-man-Ny, kar-ton+N → kar-man-Ny

old (from star-ri-Na+N), car-tiny (from car-ti-Na+N), deep (from deep-Na+N), di- co-wine (from di-ko-vi-Na+N), not a dozen (from dozen-Na+N), true (from is-ti-Na+N ), bar-schi-ny (from bar-schi-Na+N), communal (from ob-schi-Na+N), long (from length+N)

Pay attention: the word “strange” from the point of view of the modern language does not have the suffix N in its composition and is not related similar to the word “country”. But it is possible to explain the thread of NN: a person from a foreign country is considered differently-minded, alien, in a hundred -ron-nim.

These-mo-lo-gi-che-ski can be explained by using the word “under-lin-ny”: under-lin-noy in Ancient Rus' na-zy-va- It was true, which under-su-di-my said “under the lengths” - especially the lengths fell-ka-mi or Knu-ta-mi.

2). -, -ONN: klyuk-ven-ny (klyuk-va), re-vo-lu-tsi-ON-ny (re-vo-lu-tion), solemn-stven-ny (tor-same-stvo).

Exception: wind-rE-Ny (but: without-wind-rEN-Ny).

Pay attention:

There are words-names that are attached, in which N is part of the root. You need to memorize these words. They are not made from the names of real beings:

crimson, green, spicy, drunk, porky, red, rosy, young.

14.1.2. N

N, If:

1) when-la-ga-tel-noe has the suffix -IN- ( go-lu-bi-ny, we-shi-ny, so-lo-vy-ny, tiger-ri-ny). Words with this suffix often mean “whose”: go-lu-bya, mouse, nightingale, tiger.

2) when-la-ga-tel-noe has suffixes -AN-, -YAN- ( dog-chA-ny, leather-skinny, sheep-sya-ny, earth-lya-Noy). Words with this suffix often mean “made from something”: from sand, from leather, from oats, from earth.

Exceptions: glass-lyan-ny, tin-vyan-ny, de-re-vyan-ny.

14.2. N and NN in suffixes of words derived from verbs. Full forms.

As you know, from verbs there can be forms and participles, and adjective names (= from verb-gol- nye pr-la-ga-tel-nye). Pra-vi-la na-pi-sa-niya N and NN in these words are different.

14.2.1 NN in suffixes of full participles and from-verb adjectives

In suffixes of full participles and from-verbal adjectives NN is written if it is observed AT LEAST ONE of the conditions:

1) the word about-ra-zo-va-but from the word-go-la perfect look, WITH OR WITHOUT APPENDIX, for example:

from the verbs buy-drink, you-ku-drink (what to do?, perfect form): purchased-linen, you-purchased-linen;

from the verbs throw, for-throw (what to do?, perfect form): abandoned-for-abandoned.

The prefix does NOT change the type of participle and does not affect the writing of the suffix. Any other prefix gives the word a perfect appearance

2) in the word there are suffixes -OVA-, -EVA-, even in words of a non-complete type ( ma-ri-no-VAN-Ny, as-fal-ti-rO-VAN-Ny, av-to-ma-ti-zi-rO-VAN-Ny).

3) with a word that is derived from a verb, there is a behind-the-si-my word, that is, it forms a participial turn, For example: mo-ro-zhen-Noe in ho-lo-dil-ni-ke, va-ren-nye in bu-lyo-ne).

NOTE: In cases where the full participle is transferred in a specific sentence to the name of the adjective ga-tel-noe, na-pi-sa-nie doesn’t-me-et-sya. For example: Excited With this co-publication, the father spoke loudly and did not hold back his emotions. You-de-linen word - participle in participle, excited how? this co-general. Me-nya-em pre-lo-zhe-nie: His face was excited-but-vaN-Nym, and there is no longer any participle, no expression, because the face cannot be “excited,” and this is an adjective name. In such cases, they talk about the transfer of participles into pri-la-ga-tel-nye, but on the basis of NN this fact doesn't have any influence.

More examples: De-voush was very or-ga-ni-zo-vaN-Noy And vo-pi-taN-Noi. Here both words are adjective names. De-vush-ku is not “ob-ra-zo-you-va-li”, and it is always remembered, these are constant signs. From my preposition: We hurried to the meeting, or-ga-ni-zo-vaN-nuyu partners. Mom, raise Naya in strictness, and raise us just as strictly. And now you-de-linen words are participles.

In such cases, in the explanation for the task, we write: pri-la-ga-tel-noe, ra-zo-van-noe from par-participation or pri-la-ga-tel-noe, pere-shed-neck from the par-part.

Illustrations: unexpected, not-ga-given, not-seen-given, not-heard-of, not-cha-yan-ny, honey-lax- ny, ot-cha-yan-ny, sacred, desirable..

Pay attention to the fact that words have left the list of exceptions count-ta-Noe (mi-well-you), de-la-Noe (equal-spirit). These words are written jokes according to the general rule.

Let's add some more words here:

bitchy, pecking, chewed eva/ova are included in the composition of the root, these are not suffixes to write NN. But when the prefix appears, they joke according to the general rule: Chewed-up, under-co-van-ny, pecked-out.

the ra-ne-ny pi-shet is one N. Compare: Wounded in battle(two N, because of what appeared behind my word); from-ra-nEN-ny, perfect appearance, there is an attachment).

smart, it is difficult to determine the type of word.

14.2. 2 One N in verb-gol-nyh pri-la-ga-tel-nyh

In suffixes from-gla-gol-nyh with-la-ga-tel-nyh write-shet-xia, if:

the word about-ra-zo-va-but from the word of a not-so-ver-shen-type, that is, it answers the question what's wrong with the object? and with the word in the pre-lo-same there are no words behind it.

tu-she-Noe(his tu-shi-li) meat,

stri-zhe-nye(they cut) their hair,

boiled(his wa-ri-li) potato-fel,

lo-ma-naya(her lo-ma-li) line,

stained(his mo-ri-li) oak (dark in the re-zul-ta-th special processing),

BUT: as soon as these words-at-la-ga-tel-nyh appear for-my word, they immediately move into order when -chastiy and pi-joking with two N.

tu-shEN-Noe in the spirit(his tu-shi-li) meat,

sheared women not long ago(they cut) their hair,

steamed(his wa-ri-li) potato-fel.

DIFFERENTLY: the participles (on the right) and the participles (on the left) have different meanings! Big-shi-mi letters-va-mi you-de-le-ny stressed vowels.

called-brother, called-sister- a person who is not in a biological relationship with a given person, but agrees to the brotherly (sisterly) from-no-she-niya voluntarily. - to the address I called;

imprisoned father (playing the role of ro-di-te-la same-ni-ha or non-ve-sty at the wedding ceremony). - like a wife at the table;

given (property, yes-my ignorance of her family for life in marriage) - given a chic look;

narrowed (as they call it, from the word fate) - narrowed skirt, from the word narrow, make narrow)

Forgiveness Sunday (re-li-gi-oz-ny holiday) - forgiven by me;

pi-sa-naya kra-sa-vi-tsa(epi-tet, phrase-zeo-logism) - pi-san-naya mas-lom kar-ti-na.

14.2.3. Writing N and NN in complex adjectives

In the context of a complex word, the na-pi-sa-nie from-gla-gol-no-go with-la-ga-tel-no-go doesn’t change:

A) the first part of the ob-ra-zo-va-na from the verbs of a not-so-ver-shen-type, which means we write N: smooth-to-kra-shE-Ny (kra-sit), hot-che-ka-ta-Ny, do-mo-tka-Ny, motley-ro-tka-Ny, evil-tka-Ny (weave); goal-but-kro-E-Ny cut), evil-to-va-Ny (to-to-to), small-lo-ez-zE-Ny (to drive), small-lo-ho- yellow (to walk), small-no-she-ny (but-sit), small-salty (salt), finely crushed (crushed), fresh- Slaked (ha-sit), fresh-mo-ro-zE-Ny (mo-ro-sit) and others.

b) the second part of the compound word about-ra-zo-va-na from the pre-sta-voch-no-go-go-la of a very-very-shen-no-type, which means we write NN: smooth O painted ( O beautiful), fresh for mo-ro-wives-ny ( for freeze) etc.).

In the second part of complex forms, N is written, although there is a prefix PERE-: gla-same-new-per-re-gla-same-new, la-ta-new-per-re-la-ta-new, but-she-new-per-re-no-she-new, sti- ra-Noe-pe-re-sti-ra-Noe, str-la-Ny-per-re-str-la-Noe, what-pa-Noe-per-re-shto-pa-Noe.

Thus, you can complete the task according to the following algorithm:

14.3. N and NN in short adjectives and short adjectives

Both participles and adjectives have not only full, but also short forms.

Right: In short phrases, one N is always written.

Right: In short adjectives the writings are as N as in the full form.

But in order to apply the rule, you need to differentiate between adjectives and participles.

DON'T TEA short adjectives and participles:

1) according to the question: short adjectives - what? ka-ko-va? how are you? what? how are you?, brief participles - what’s been done? what's the matter? what's done? what have we done?

2) by value(a short adjective has a relation to the action, you can replace it with a verb; a short adjective gives a character -te-ri-sti-ku defines the word, does not communicate about the action);

3) according to the name of the word(short adjectives do not and cannot have, short adjectives have).

Brief participa-tionsBrief adjectives
na-pi-san (ras-skaz) m. genus; what's done? by whom?the boy is ob-ra-zo-van (what?) -from the full form ob-ra-zo-van-ny (what?)
na-pi-sa-na (book) female; what's the matter? by whom?de-voch-ka ob-ra-zo-van-na (ka-ko-va?) - from the full form ob-ra-zo-van-naya (which one?)
na-pi-sa-no (so-chi-ne-nie) middle birth; what was done? by whom?the child is ob-ra-zo-van-no (what?) -from the full form ob-ra-zo-van-noe (what?)
ra-bo-you na-pi-sa-ny, plural. number; what have we done? by whom?children are well-formed (what kind of people are you?)

14.4. One or two Hs can also be written in na-re-chi-yah.

In na-re-chi-yah, -O/-E is written with as many N as there are in the original word, For example: calmly with one H, since in pr-la-ga-tel-nom calm suff-f-fix N; slowly with NN, because in pr-la-ga-tel-nom slow NN; enthusiastically with NN, because in part PASSIONATE NN.

Given the seemingly uncomplicated nature of this rule, there is a problem of delineating it in speech, briefly. some participles and short participles. For example, in the word so-medi-to-che (N, NN)o it is not possible to choose one or another spelling WITHOUT knowing than this word appears in a sentence or word.

DIFFERENTLY short adjectives, short participles and adverbs.

1) according to the question: short adjectives - what? ka-ko-va? how are you? what? how-are-you?, brief participles - what’s been done? what's the matter? what's done? what have we done? in speech: how?

2) by value(a short adjective has a relation to the action, you can replace it with a verb; a short adjective gives a character -te-ri-sti-ku defines the word, does not communicate about the action); what it means is a sign of an action, how it happens)

3) by role in the sentence:(short adjectives and short participles are often used to say

from-no-sit-xia to the verb-go-lu and is-la-et-sya about-the-s-t-tel-stvom)

14.5. N and NN in nouns

1.In nouns (as well as in short adjectives and speeches) the same N is written as in with-la-ga-tel-nyh (at-cha-sti-yah), from which they are formed:

NNN
captive (captive)neft-tya-nick (neft-tya-noy)
arrangement (development)go-sti-ni-tsa (go-sti-ny)
iz-gnan-nik (iz-gon-ny)vet-re-nick (vet-re-ny)
leaf-vein-ni-tsa (leaf-vein-ny)pu-ta-ni-tsa (pu-ta-ny)
vo-pi-tan-nick (vo-pi-tan-ny)spice (spicy)
humanity-ness (gu-man-ness)pes-cha-nik (sand-cha-ny)
height (elevation)smokedness (smoked)
balance (balance)delicious mo-ro-zhe-noe (mo-ro-zhe-ny)
devotion (pre-given)tor-fya-nik (tor-fya-noy)

From the names of pri-la-ga-tel-nyh ob-ra-zo-va-nas and words

related/ik from related, third-party/ik from third-party, unified-mysh-lenn/ik from unified-mysh-lenn-ny, (evil-intentioned /ik, co-intended-lenn/ik), stav-lenn/ik from stav-len-ny, drowned-lenn/ik from drowned-len-ny, numeral/ik from numeric-len-nyy, co- domestic/ik from co-patriotic) and many others.

2. Nouns can also be derived from verbs and other nouns.

NN is written, one H is included in the root, and the other in the suffix.N*
fraud/nickname (from moshna, which means bag, wallet)toil/enik (from toil)
friend/nickname (from friend)tormentor (from torment)
malin/nick (ma-li-na)powder/enitsa (from powder)
name/nickname (names)childbirth (give birth)
cheater/nickname (from-me-on)brother-in-law
nephewvar/enik (var-rit)
demonBUT: given (from given)
insomniastudent
aspen/nickbes-srebr/enik
ringingsreb-re/nick

Note to the table: *Words that joke with N and at the same time are not derived from adjectives (participants) in Russian there are only one language. They need to be taught by heart.

NN is also written in words traveler(from pu-te-she-stvo-vat), predecessor(precede)

For many years now I have been collecting interesting quotes from travelers, climbers, and researchers on outdoor topics.

All this is mostly accumulated “on the table”, although sometimes it finds use.

So, for example, we made packaging for ours with some quotes from my collection.

But still, the bulk lies as “dead weight” and does not work, although many quotes, as the quintessence of the experience and views on life of people who are great and have first-hand knowledge of issues of travel, mountaineering, human interaction with wild nature and mountains, can be useful and interesting to many.

Some quotes can make you smile with their naivety, for example, I liked Maurice Herzog’s statement about Annapurna, and I took it to my collection. Words about the mountain were spoken even before the expedition to this eight-thousander began; in Russian translation they sound like this:

“As for Annapurna... this peak is easily accessible and is therefore of only limited sporting interest.”© Maurice Herzog

It is difficult to agree with this statement now, knowing that Annapurna is one of the most difficult and dangerous eight-thousanders on the planet.

Some quotes bear the imprint of an era, are a product of their time and personify the development and ideas of society, which we can look at through the prism of achievements known to us. As an example, an openly racist quote from Robert Peary

“One intelligent white man should be at the head, two whites, invited to the expedition because of their courage, determination, physical endurance and devotion to the leader, should form the hands, and the dog drivers and others local residents– body and legs of the expedition. For the peace of mind of men, it is necessary to take women on the trip; besides this, they are in many respects as useful as men, and in strength and endurance they are often almost equal to them.”

But I think the thoughts expressed by great travelers, climbers and investigators on issues of preparation, organization and safety are of particular value. Very often, one apt and strong phrase uttered by a distinguished person can give much more to understanding the essence of the issue than voluminous articles and verbose explanations.

My favorite quote of these comes from Roald Amundsen and goes:

"An expedition is preparation"

In just three words, the great polar explorer was able to express the main success of any business.

Which I haven’t been to before.”

“Every person needs something exceptional in an era when money can have everything.” © Reinhold Messner

“A person learns through defeats, not victories, as it may seem. To correctly assess the situation, you need to know your limit and it can only be determined in practice. I have failed on thirteen 8000m peaks and I want to be remembered as the climber who has failed the most. I wasn't interested in records. If I had not failed at Dhaulagiri, Makalu and Lhotse at one time, I would have died long ago. I love challenges, but I know how to retreat in time.” © Reinhold Messner

“If you go to mountains where there is no danger, you are not a real mountaineer.” © Reinhold Messner

“Mountaineering is an archaic world, devoid of rules, and that is why the cost of error here is very high. The anarchy that reigns all around forces the climber to be responsible for his own life. Each difficult climb is deadly, and in this sense, mountaineering is a deeply selfish activity.” © Reinhold Messner

“Nor was I of the opinion that a climber who dies while climbing automatically becomes a hero. The death of a climber is a tragedy. No more, no less. And the only thing that can be done for the victims is to help their loved ones.” © Reinhold Messner

“For a person suffering from stress, lost in an expanding civilization, the mountains have become a kind of “play space” in which he can enrich himself with experiences and experiences that are not available to him in ordinary, everyday life. Game space, game, rules of the game. Owning them is the only condition for fully enjoying the exciting lifestyle: mountaineering.” © Reinhold Messner

“Only climbers know how much willpower and courage it takes to retreat where there is at least something that would justify moving up.” © Reinhold Messner

“I'm a happy person. I had a dream and it came true, and that doesn’t happen very often to a person. Climbing Everest - my people call it Chomolungma - was the deepest desire of my whole life. Seven times I got down to business; I failed and started again, again and again, not with the feeling of bitterness that drives a soldier against the enemy, but with love, like a child climbing onto its mother’s lap.” © Tenzing Norgay

“I hate grumbling and fighting over trifles when we are talking about great things. When people go to the mountains, they should forget about molehills. Whoever goes for a big job must have a big soul" © Tenzing Norgay

“... I trained hard, trying to regain my shape. I got up early in the morning, loaded my backpack with stones, and took long walks in the hills around the city - this was my routine for a number of years before large expeditions. I did not smoke, did not drink, and avoided parties, which I usually love very much. And all this time I was thinking, planning, speculating how my seventh trip to Everest would go. “This time you must overcome the peak,” I told myself, “Succeed or perish...” © Tenzing Norgay

“Future generations will ask: “Who were the first people to reach the top of the world?” And I would like the answer to be one that I don’t have to be ashamed of. Everest: highest point not just one country, but the whole world. It was taken by the people of the East and the West together. It belongs to us all. And I also want to belong to everyone, to be a brother to all people...” © Tenzing Norgay

“First of all, love the mountains. You need to know the mountains, respect them and not think that you will throw your hats at them. You need to be on friendly terms with mountains. Be it a 1b category peak or a highest category route.” © Vladimir Shataev

“I can look up at the mountain for hours. It may seem strange, but I am talking to the mountain. I’m trying to understand whether she’s waiting for me or not, whether she’ll let me in or not.” © Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner

“Sometimes I think that’s why I go to the mountains, to understand how precious gray everyday life is for me. My peace of mind is terrible." © Maurice Herzog June 4, 1950.

“In general, all the most difficult moments in the mountains, as in ordinary life, occur in consciousness, in overcoming oneself and in relationships between people. “Society is very unfair to female climbers and mountaineering mothers. There is no such attitude towards male climbers who risk their lives in the mountains, leaving their families at home - and the public often condemns mothers who want to climb. We climbed here, risking every minute to fall, to fall under a rockfall, under an avalanche. We gave our comrades the last sip of the water so desired here, we conceded the most to each other in the tents. convenient place, warmed our neighbor in the bivouac with their warmth, joked and sang songs when the wind tried to tear the tents together with us into the abyss... “There is the concept of front-line brotherhood, there is also the concept of mountaineering brotherhood. This is true. I have a lot of teaching practice. When the newcomers begin to leave after a 20-day stay in the mountain camp, they literally leave in tears. Why? People being in tough climatic conditions United by a common idea, they communicate and solve a common problem. Help, mutual assistance, just being together - unites people to such an extent that the phenomenon is called brotherhood. Like in a war, when in the most difficult conditions people united, doing a significant thing, winning, losing, fighting, dying, etc.

This is an integral part of mountaineering, it is good and pleasing. I am happy that I know all the people that mountaineering has given me. That we were united by an idea. Although it happened in different years, in different areas, we haven’t met for a long time, but you can’t throw out what happened from your destiny.” © Sergey Bogomolov

“When you stand at the top, especially if it’s the top of an eight-thousander, mountains stretch in all directions as far as the eye can see. It seems that the whole world is ridges covered with eternal snow and nothing else. But we know that this is not so. There, further, there are seas and oceans, forests and gardens, beautiful cities... That’s how it is in my life. “...The struggle of a person with the peak goes beyond the scope of mountaineering in its purely sporting sense. “...it is important how you climb, not where you climb. You know, many years ago in Yosemite we realized that there was nothing up there. You climb out, and there are stones and a path down. Therefore, even then it became clear that what matters is not where you climbed, but how you did it! And it is precisely this process of “how?” compromised by the unrestrained use of bolts. “Let them not, however, think that climbing highest peaks- just hard, tedious work. “Winter expeditions are the only mountaineering without the struggle of “stars”, rivalry, competition with each other. The mountain in winter is so difficult that everyone rallies for a common goal in an atmosphere of partnership, mutual assistance and goodwill. This atmosphere has now been preserved only in speleology and in winter Himalayan ascents. This is no longer possible to find in the summer in alpine ascents.” © Wojtek Kurtyka

“The essence of winter Himalayan ascents is overcoming your own pain caused by cold, discomfort and other reasons. You can believe me, it's true. I believe that winter Himalayan ascents have little in common with the essence of real mountaineering, which begins where ordinary tourism ends, and a person is forced to overcome technical difficulties with the help of his hands. In winter you cannot take off your mittens, so there is no question of difficult technical climbs. “...After all, as long as there are mountains, there will be traces on their slopes, there will be notes on the tops... This is the law of man’s struggle with the mountains. And in everyone’s life, sooner or later there comes a moment when he must meet nature face to face and feel that man, even in small numbers, is stronger than it. Humanity has existed for twenty thousand generations, of which nineteen thousand eight hundred generations - ninety-nine percent - fought with nature without the help of electricity, machines and science. In today's generations there is still quite a bit of disturbing blood left from their ancestors. The word “feat” means an action that not everyone can accomplish. But those who go to the mountains, as a rule, do not think about the feat, dreaming only of enjoying the incomparable feeling of pioneers, they want to see entire countries lying at their feet under the clouds, so that the shadow of the hand stretches for hundreds of kilometers and the purple sky is towards them a little closer than to other people... Like on the crest of a wave, when during a furious storm a strange, great calm suddenly reigns within us. “Why do people love wild places? For the sake of the mountains? They may not exist. For the sake of forests, lakes and rivers? But it could be a desert, and people would still love it. “The sparkling immaculate whiteness of the high mountain snows, untouched and perhaps unattainable; the beauty of the mountains, covered with a foggy haze, because of which you cannot distinguish whether it is earth or a cloud; distant, clear, impassive mountains - all this symbolizes the highest aspirations of the spirit. The universe appears to people in all its glory and grandeur, they are seized with anxiety, the thirst for adventure characteristic of their ancestors awakens in them, and they leave... It is not at all a conscious choice that forces people to exchange comfort and safety for adventure and adversity - most likely, there is an impulse more active here deeper and stronger than consciousness and reason" © Rockwell Kent

Until 1812 this ancient city in Jordan was lost for modern world. The magnificent Petra, carved directly into the rocks by skilled architects, amazes with the incredible play of light and shadow: local temples, local houses and passages in the rocks are made of red sandstone, which creates this effect. Among the red sandstones of the desert, the city carved into the rock looks like a real fairy tale.

- this is a journey that is never forgotten. But how did ancient people manage to build such a majestic structure?

It is known that by the first century AD, the Nabataean tribe became the most skilled masters of stone work. The name Petra itself is translated from Greek as stone.

The whole city seems to be hidden in the narrow Siq canyon. You can get to the territory of Petra only through the gorges located in the north and south. From the east and west the city is reliably protected by steep cliffs, the height of which reaches sixty meters.

The famous Pharaoh's Treasury Al-Khazneh was originally a temple of the goddess Isis. This mausoleum is considered the greatest example of ancient architecture - architects still do not understand exactly how the Nabataeans were able to hew such an incredible structure without the use of scaffolding.

One more thing amazing building located outside the city limits. Ad-Dair - The rock temple is a monumental building that is entirely carved into the mountain.

For centuries, trade routes brought Petra incredible amounts of money. From the outside Persian Gulf caravans loaded with spices flocked here, and on the way to Damascus, merchants brought precious stones and silks to Petra. The discovery by the Romans of the sea route to the East was the beginning of the end of the great city: the land trade in spices dried up and Petra gradually became empty.

Alas, only these architectural monuments remain of the former wealth and splendor of the Nabataean Empire. near the walls of what was once the greatest city in the region, Bedouins graze their goats, and enterprising Arabs give rich Americans rides on camels.

Only for the Bedouins, Petra is not a miracle, but a simple business. Every year, millions of tourists from all over the world flock to Jordan just to see this magnificence with their own eyes.

"Okoyemy Przemysl"

Annotation

In his “History of the Russian State,” in the second chapter (narration based on the Nestorov Chronicle), the outstanding Russian writer - sovereign, mentor, that is, Pushkin’s spiritual father Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin very clearly described the origin of the Slavic tribes.

« Many Slavs, - Karamzin believed, - people of the same tribe with the Poles who lived on the banks of the Vistula settled on the Dnieper in the Kyiv province and were called Polyans from their pure fields. This ethnicity disappeared in ancient Russia, but his name became the common name of the Poles, the founders of the Polish state». « From the same tribe,- wrote Karamzin, - There were two brothers, Radim and Vyatko, the heads of the Radimichi and Vyatichi: the first chose a home on the banks of the Sozh, in the Mogilev province, and the second on the Oka, in Kaluga, Tula or Oryol. The Drevlyans, named so from their forest land, lived in the Volyn province. It is still generally accepted to believe so. And the neighbors of the Vyatichi tribe on the eastern side of the Oka and Zhizdra river basins were a tribe of skilled Krivichi».

On the map of modern Russian Federation territory Kaluga region a multi-petalled carnation is sewn into the mosaic of the Central Federal District between 54 and 55 degrees north latitude and 36-37 degrees east longitude. About 4 percent of the region's area is occupied by the territory of the Przemysl Territory, located on the banks of the Oka River south of the regional center.

According to the map of modern Kaluga province, the location of the municipal formation “Peremyshl District” is in the east of the region. East and delight are words that are similar in sound structure in Russian. The sunrise in the eastern sky brings delight to the farmer. Therefore, the eastern edge of the earth is the most beautiful. This is how it is in the land of Kaluga: its Przemysl region is delightfully beautiful!

The author of a magnificent 1998 book about Przemysl, a quiet regional town in the Kaluga region, was Sergei Fedorovich Pitirimov, a man of active modesty, a wise, and therefore lyrical poet alien to all rhetoric and PR. He spoke with sincere love about his cultural predecessors. This is the forest professor of Toursky, the playwright and translator Lyubimov, the son of the police chief and the most educated encyclopedist of the Diamonds.

In 2004, I participated in the elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Kaluga Region in the Przemysl electoral district. During the pre-election period, a documentary essay “The Blue-Eyed Oka - Russian Shores” was written as propaganda material, published in 2004 in the form of a propaganda brochure by the printing house “Poligraform”. The book “The Outskirts of Przemysl” is the fulfillment of a “candidate’s” duty to voters from the banks of the Oka.

In this story, I tried to complement my senior comrade and friend from the Kaluga Writers' Organization, S. F. Pitirimov, who has been in Eternity since 2000. My contribution is information about the modern administrative structure of the municipality, a story about Tsiolkovsky’s travels on a bicycle to the village of Korekozevo, as well as personal memories of the outstanding lyricists of Oka - Sergei Pitirimov, Anatoly Kukhtinov, journalist and poet Alexei Zolotin.

Chapter 7. Eye of Culture

Traveling through Przemysl

Moon on the right side

Alexander Pushkin left the Russian people not only brilliant poetry, but also wonderful prose: dramas, stories and notes of a traveler. In the first chapter " Travels to Arzrum” he wrote: “From Moscow I went to Kaluga, Belev and Orel, thus making 200 extra miles, but I saw Ermolov».

Perhaps, driving through the Przemysl fields, the poet once again indulged in the sadness of loneliness among the vast expanses, and the poems sounded in his heart:

I was coming to you: living dreams
A playful crowd followed me,
And a month since right side
Accompanied by my zealous running.

A.S. Pushkin’s stay in the vicinity of Przemysl is not noted anywhere, but he could not bypass them on his trip of 1829, because his path ran along the old Kaluga-Kozel highway.

The Kireevsky brothers, Ivan Vasilievich and Pyotr Vasilievich, N.V. Gogol, A.K. Tolstoy, F.M. Dostoevsky, V.A. Zhukovsky, F.I. Tyutchev, A.N. Maykov, repeatedly visited Przemysl. A. A. Fet, A. N. Apukhtin, M. M. Prishvin, who visited the Optina Monastery. L.N. Tolstoy stayed in Przemysl while making a trip to Shamordino and Optino.

Memory of a warm earth

The wonderful Russian writer I. S. Sokolov-Mikitov called his homeland, the Przemysl region, “Warm Land” and always remembered it with the deepest tenderness:

« The modest nature of the places where I spent the first years of my adult life did not shine with lush beauty. There were no majestic mountains and rocks, surrounded by clouds, spectacular, seductive for artists, stunning panoramas. It was an ordinary Russian expanse: fields, forests, villages with thatched and wooden roofs overgrown with velvet moss, with dim small windows from which pale faces of people looked out. You drive and drive, sometimes for dozens of miles, and the landscape around you doesn’t seem to change, almost doesn’t move.».

« From my mother, a Kaluga hereditary peasant woman, I borrowed a love of words, restlessness of character, from my father - a love of nature, a lyrical cast of soul.

Trips with my father, walks in the forest, fishing in a quiet pond overgrown with water lilies, every cherished corner of which is still memorable to me, my father’s stories and fairy tales left an indelible impression. Along with dreams of travel, my father awakened in me a passion for hunting.».

“In the fate and tastes of every person, his childhood, the environment in which he lived, was brought up and grew up, is of great importance. The words we hear from our mothers, the color of the sky we saw for the first time, the road running into the distance, the overgrown river bank, the curly birch tree under the window of our home remain forever in our memory.”

Ivan Sergeevich Sokolov-Mikitov lived a long and difficult life. He was born on May 17 (29), 1892, and died on February 20, 1975.

Distant birds

In August 1950, the poet Bulat Shalvovich Okudzhava came to these regions. In Shamordino, at a rural school, he taught Russian language and literature, and visited Przemysl and the surrounding villages many times. Impressions of his stay on the banks of the Oka were vividly reflected in the poet’s first book, “Lyrics,” published by the Kaluga Book Publishing House in 1956.

Bulat Shalvovich says:

Creative meetings with prose writer Vladimir Koblikov, poets Valentin Ermakov, Mikhail Kuzkin are memorable for the workers of the region.

Oka-Russian

A Khakass by nationality came from the banks of the Yenisei to the banks of the Oka to live, serve and write poetry. Mikhail Kuzkin-Voronetsky spent the last years of his life in the village of Andreevskoye, where he spent many hours in all seasons tramping along the high coastal terrace, hypnotized by the sublunar view of the Oka Valley. He loved this region with all his heart and sang of it.

Kuzkin is a wonderful master of lyrical descriptions of the nature of the Kaluga region and passionate relationships with women.

...We are sailing to Tarusa along the Great Oka,
And stays behind us
Kaluga is a little alien in the distance,
Overwhelmed by hot forests.

The bend in the sun is so sharp,
And the shore recedes so gently...
It creeps among the oak trees like the smoke of a fire,
Winding narrow road.

... The river distance is bright and deep.
And the world is so open today! Right,
I never thought that Oka.
She can be so full and majestic.

I look at the shores from under my hand
And in a daze I think for a short time:
How would you live, Russia, without the Oka -
With the Volga alone?

...I remember how towards the end of summer
in the middle of the day, when the heat has already grown stronger,
Behind the yellow forests of the Oka region
The shifted steppe opened up to the sky.

The field road attracted me...
Sitting on a stone under a pine tree
I sat there for a long time, remembering
How the heat flowed around the curves of the hills.

...And it’s clear that this steppe world brings tears to tears
I’m dear to you because I’ll be soon
green whirlwind of sunny birches,
running along the highway along the slope.

And so, when I forgot about the vanity,
I look at the forest - is it near or far away?
It’s as if I’m looking at the appearance,
In which I will soon find eternity.

And so I kiss the red slope
Lands with oak trees in the sunshine,
What will be saved for future times?
The mystery of my existence.

Translator Lyubimov

Theater town

The people of Peremysh are rightfully proud of their wonderful fellow countryman, the outstanding writer and translator of fiction Nikolai Mikhailovich Lyubimov, whose books adorn the shelves of many libraries, instill in readers a loving attitude towards the Russian word, strengthen a sense of devotion to their fatherland, and develop a subtle artistic sense.

In the Lyubimov family, who lived in the provincial town of Przemysl, there was a strong tradition of giving books for birthdays and name days.

In his biographical life story, Lyubimov says:

« Our town has long been a theater town. From 22 to 1930, in winter and summer, rural teachers, high school students, and college and university students who came on vacation staged performances under the direction and with the participation of the teacher of Russian language and literature Sofia Iosifovna Melypova, who later moved to Moscow and was awarded an order for her pedagogical activities. Red Banner of Labor and Order of Lenin. And almost every performance of this community of amateurs became an event in the life of the town; he shook us up, enriched us, awakened both thought and feeling, and cultivated artistic taste. There was usually a delay when the performance started. The “gallery” stomps and yells: “It’s time!” But then the prompter darted into his booth, the curtain slid in both directions, and before the eyes of the suddenly silent spectators, art was born, far from perfect, but genuine, in which it was impossible not to believe, the ingots of which I still pull out from the bottom of my memory. The scenery changed slowly, the intermissions dragged on ungodly, and when the audience went home at dawn, the housewives were already driving the cows into the herd. And then for several days you live as if in a dream: your inner hearing is the echo of voices, before your eyes are figures and faces. And my soul is sad: I was so looking forward to this evening, and now it has already sunk. You are consoled by the fact that a month will pass - and again you will be seized by the inexplicable, like any magic, holy spell of the Theater, under the influence of which from ancient times humanity irresistibly sought to fall.

Already the repertoire of this permanent group gives an idea of its literary culture and daring. Here is some list of the plays staged: “The Inspector General” and “Marriage”, “Our People - We Will Be Numbered!”, “Poverty is not a Vice”, “Profitable Place”, “Forest”, “Talents and Admirers”, “It Shines but Doesn’t Warm”, “Tsar Fyodor Ioanovich”, “Krechinsky’s Wedding”.

Sofya Iosifovna played mainly everyday roles, revealing tenacious powers of observation and a sense of humor. Her best role was the old witch Evdokia Antonovna in Days of Our Lives. Oh, how scary she was!.. Especially in the third act, when, persuading her own daughter to sell herself to von Rencken, she shouted at her:

- Slut! Rubbish!.. Who will buy you something like this? There are hundreds of people like you on the boulevard!»

« I developed a taste for theater as a child in Przemysl.“,” recalled N. M. Lyubimov.

Telephone communication with the future

When in 1923, in the regional center, telephone connections were made to Soviet institutions, a little theater fan began to climb into the office of the father of one of his friends, where he acted out a “conversation with Kachalov,” admired his talent, and declared his love for the famous artist.

From a Moscow student, a talented provincial grew into a metropolitan cultural and art figure and theater critic. Translator of foreign classical literature. In his creative practice, Lyubimov maintained close ties with the very same stage masters with whom he had imaginary discussions on the phone during his childhood years in Przemysl.

On the pages of his book of memoirs, “Bygone Summer,” N. M. Lyubimov gave strikingly apt characteristics of the actors and their work. For example, Leonidov “pierces the audience through and through with his gaze”, Knipper-Chekhova was “an example of internal external grace”, Tarkhanov amazed with “ideal comprehension of stage art”, Pashennaya with “ultimate expressiveness”, Massalitinova with “mastery of transformation”, Moskvin - “ destruction of tradition."

The famous writer Veniamin Kaverin highly appreciated the work of the translator Lyubimov: “ Lyubimov translates in such a way that his personality is visible behind the book. You need to be a little akin to Rabelais himself, so that behind the book we see the author, his laughter and bitterness, his spiritual scope, his irony, his faith in man».

Sage from Korekozev

Peasant intellectual

Ask any resident of Korekozevo: “What is your village famous for?” The answers will vary. For example:

— It is the longest in the Kaluga region - five kilometers.

“The first post-war order bearers appeared here, and the chairman of the collective farm, Prudnikov, was a Hero of Socialist Labor.

- Buttercup Monastery - according to legend, the oldest in our area.

— The first hydroelectric power station in the region.

— This is the only village in Russia where three members of the USSR Writers’ Union come from.

“And for me, Korekozevo is also famous for this,” recalls one of them, the famous Kaluga journalist and poet Alexey Petrovich Zolotin, “that a wonderful old man, a sage, a true rural philosopher Fyodor Kuzmich Pitirimov lived here. In November 1964, the newspaper “Znamya” under the heading “Meetings with interesting people“published my article about him, “Evening at Fyodor Kuzmich’s.” This is how I introduced him to readers then:

« I have long been planning to write about Fyodor Kuzmich Pitirimov, this “very correct person,” as fellow villagers put it, a communist, chairman of the Korekozevo Village Council. He is one of the organizers of the collective farm “First of May”, stood at its helm for eight years, and when the farm became larger and Grigory Nikolaevich Prudnikov was elected chairman, Fyodor Kuzmich worked honestly and conscientiously as a private. For the last three years he has chaired the village council.».

The article describes one evening spent with Fyodor Kuzmich. Then there were several more - and all are memorable. I will try to remember and convey some fragments of conversations with this amazing person. Like all modest people, he flatly refused to talk about himself: “ I don't have anything special. You shouldn't have thought of that..."About fellow villagers - please.

Stories from Fyodor Kuzmich

The memory of Pitirimov Sr. has preserved a lot of stories.

Here is Strekozy Nikita Nikitich. He’s older than me, but he works and doesn’t lag behind other young people. From the first days of the collective farm - wherever they send you. Doesn't require any awards or posts. And a man of amazing honesty. Goes dear, if he notices a board or some kind of rope, he won’t be lazy, he’ll definitely take it to the sawmill, or to the stable... And in general, a very interesting old man.

Or another story by Fyodor Kuzmich about fellow villager Vladimir Ivanovich Nikonov:

Also a very, very original grandfather. I admired his hard work. After the war, he mainly worked at the crossing. So, I remember, I was walking early one morning, around four o’clock, and decided to look at the fields across the river. I didn’t expect to meet him on the ferry at this hour, I thought he was sleeping at home. I looked into the ferry hut and there really was no one there. I looked and he was fidgeting around the boat, making something. We started talking.

And for me, my brother, - Vladimir Ivanovich shared the news, - there are moose.

What moose?

And such. Every evening, when it gets a little dark, they come out of the forest and in this place they swim across the river. That's where they graze. At night they feel good there, at ease. And in the morning - again into the forest. They just swam across before your arrival... I don’t tell anyone about them: they’ll scare them away, but they’re already used to me...

What quality do you value most in a person?? — I once asked Fyodor Kuzmich.

Eh, here you are tempting me into philosophy. Each person is a page in a big book - history, and they are all interesting in their own way. As the ancient Romans said, suum kuikve - to each his own!.. In short, a person must sow good, sow “reasonable, good, eternal.” It’s important to me what a person gives to people, that’s how I judge how useful he is. And finally, honesty. This is what I value most in a person...

Often we had a conversation about poetry, - Alexey Zolotin continued his story, - and every time I lost the feeling of something familiar, everyday: as if in front of you was not an elderly collective farmer who graduated from five classes of an old rural school, but a specialist philologist. Fyodor Kuzmich did not just quote Pushkin and Lermontov, Byron and Heine, Horace and Virgil - he freely supported his thoughts, views on poetry and literature in general with their words. So it is not by chance, but by the law of succession, that one of the sons of Fyodor Kuzmich, and in total he had five children, Sergei Pitirimov, became a famous Russian poet, a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR. But Sergei Fedorovich became famous in his declining years, and in his youth he dreamed of geology and just tried his hand at poetry. I must say, not without the approval of his authoritative father.

Another conversation with Fyodor Kuzmich was remembered by his son’s friend and poetic peer Zolotin. With a smile of bright emotion, Alexey Petrovich, also a popular writer far beyond the borders of his native Przemysl region, remembers Pitirimov Sr. and his old man’s tales.

Somehow I came across a book, - Fedor Kuzmich shared. — It was written in the seventeenth year, even before the revolution. It examined very important problems - how to bring Russia out of ruin. The author—I don’t remember his last name—proposed developing the economy in the east of the country. Everything seems to be correct. But how did he propose to do this? Recourse to the help of foreign monopolies. What would be left of Russia then? It would have been swallowed by predators. That's the thing - it seems like the person was caring for the interests of the Motherland, but no. Loving the Motherland is not the same as talking about this love...

“It’s as if this conversation was taking place today,” Zolotin recalled, “it’s so relevant. Nowadays there is a debate again about how to boost the country’s economy: with the help of foreign monopolies or independently? It seems that the first point of view wins. But, I think, the warning of Fyodor Kuzmich Pitirimov also sounds useful: if only Russia would not be swallowed up by predators...
