• expensive - accommodation and food on Bai Sao are several times more expensive than on other Phu Quoc beaches
• far from everything - if you are staying at a hotel on Bai Sao, keep in mind that after 19:00-20:00 life stops there: deserted, dark, the nearest store is 2-3 kilometers away along a country road

Our review: we stayed on Bai Sao beach for a few days in November (the beginning of the high season). The beach is beautiful, but in many places natural debris from the shore (coconuts, algae, etc.) was not removed, which spoiled the picture.

The best option is to stay in another area, but come to Bai Sao Beach for half or a full day to sunbathe and take photos. You can rent a bike and come on your own, or take a tour from one of the travel agencies.

Other beaches

Among the other beaches of Fukuoka, the following can be particularly noted:

• Ong Lang(Ong Lang) – a good two-kilometer beach north of the capital islands. Not as developed as Long Beach, but there are hotels and resorts, restaurants, and entertainment.

Cable car

The cable car, connecting An Thoi in southern Phu Quoc and Hon Thom Island, opened in February 2018. It was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest in the world - its length is 7.9 kilometers.

On Hon Thom Island you can get off and spend half a day or a whole day there. What is interesting on the island:

Transport

The main transport on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam is taxis and rented bikes. Public transport(buses) exist, but they are very poorly developed.

Taxi

The most convenient option for most tourists is a local taxi. These are usually cars with meters, but there are also cars without them.

Shopping in Fukuoka is not developed at all. As of 2020, there is none on the island shopping center. Moreover, there are not even large supermarkets - only small shops like 7/11.

Phu Quoc Prison (Nhà tù Phú Quốc) is located in the southern part of the island. It was founded during French colonization as a place of exile for opponents of the French occupation. Now on the territory of the prison you can see numerous torture chambers and the remains of barracks in which tens of thousands of prisoners were kept, many of whom were killed here or became disabled.
